98 Finally.
Feeling the steady, soothing movement beneath him stop, the golden haired elf managed to crack open his eyes briefly before the effort even that small movement took was too much and they closed once more. In his mind he knew he should move, make an effort to straighten up, take an interest in his surroundings but his body was not listening and he remained slumped over, face buried in his mounts mane, aching from head to foot and with the tang of iron filling his nose. He was certain he hadn't felt this bad even after finishing off the damned Balrog.
A faint whinny caught his attention and he felt his horse shift beneath him before raising her head to reply. Friend then, he thought sluggishly, his head was beginning to feel as if it were stuffed with straw but he knew that even if it were an enemy he would have neither wit nor wherewithal to do anything other than remain where he was and face the consequences. Another whinny followed along with the drumming of hooves before eventually he heard a very welcome voice call his name and knew that he had finally made it back home.
