I don't own Hetalia okay? I don't have much else for this opening. Anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!

Yo Mattie!

Don't say a freaking word. I am an idiot for forgetting to do this and Nattie is making me write as she has taken to writing to Katy after she sent that telegram a few weeks ago. She sent hers with a package with gifts for yours, Katy's and little Chad's birthdays. I know you prefer his full name but I don't. And you still used my name as inspiration for Louise's middle name. I don't care what you say. Yes, Alberta was Mom's name but she used to for mine so in a roundabout way, even with your logic I am right.

I really like my new job. Often spend a lot of time catching banditos at the border but had been stopping a lot of bootleggers, cattle rustlers, just all the things you hear about in the bad westerns still go on somewhat out here. And frankly I feel like I am actually working to keep law and order and providing the right amount of sacrifice to do so. The chief is actually pretty impressed with me, especially as he had expected me to be another 'gringo' who wouldn't speak a word of Spanish but when they found some smugglers and I yelled "Manos Arribas" as to the rest of the team who just yelled "Hands up". I came into this knowing what was needed when you are this close to the border. I mean it would be like when you were stationed in Quebec back in your Mountie days and not knowing a word of French. (Although from what Major Bonnefoy told me back what seemed forever ago when I was working at Mr. Seward's firm and the topic of Canada came up, that is a very rough French to them… maybe like how that Colonel Kirkland or whatever he was said about American English. He can go take a swim in Boston Harbor that teabag. We kicked their butt twice and saved their ass, along with Canada too, in that last war. And now I am rambling….) Yes, I know it is much more dangerous than just pushing papers at a desk. I am out there facing it, and the risks are more real and any mistake is on me and not on someone else who has to pay for it. That's just how it is. I know you might understand.

More important than me liking my job is the fact that Nattie and the kids like it here a lot too. Nicky loves swimming a lot and loves the ocean. He wants to try surfing as he has seen a few of the local teenagers try it but the boards are bigger than he is and he's a big little 8-year-old. Well I can't say little. Many people think he's about 10 by how tall he is. Must run in Nattie's family but he's not as stalky as Vanya was. I told him when he was a little older. He was sulking a little bit but we headed to the lighthouse and looked over the shore and saw a whale while I was holding Alexei, god he thought it was as awesome as I did. Nattie just rolled her eyes but I could tell there was a little smile there.

How is Roddy and Eliza doing? I would assume they had their kid by now. I mean Eliza was due around the time summer started. How are things back in New York anyway? I can tell you that I won't miss the winters. Last year was too freaking cold. Just coming back at the beginning of April to bring Nattie and the kids back here after getting set up was quite a difference.

So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? Let me know in a review. I don't quite know how long this one will be just yet as the other I had a more defined plan. But the way it is going this one will be longer than the other. One is over a few years, this a whole decade practically. Anyway, remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
