Thanks for all your kind words of last chapter, thanks for celebrating 100 chapters with me and the characters. I found this chapter quite amusing to write, for the most part anyways.

Maura and Jane spent their dinner alone discussing the places they would like to go visit on their road trip. They ended up letting Tommy and Frost watch the kids overnight, so they could have a little bit more alone time, it was very much needed and they ended up just watching television until they both had passed out on the couch, cuddled together underneath a blanket.

The next morning Maura woke up and groaned realizing that Jane wasn't on the couch, she yawned, stretching her arms before getting up from the couch. She kicked something before she looked down and heard Jane groan in discomfort. "Oh my God Jane. I'm so sorry I didn't see you down there."

"Obviously you didn't," Jane sat up on the floor, rubbing her fingers through her hair. "Not how I wanted to wake up this morning, I'm not even sure how I ended up on the floor," she extended her hand, "Mind helping me up."

Maura nodded, taking Jane's hand not expecting her wife to tug her down towards the floor. "Jane!"

"It's called payback."

"What I did was an accident, you did that on purpose," Maura gave her a pout and playfully shoved her.

"Well, now we're even," Jane smirked.

"I don't know how you consider that to be even," Maura pushed Jane down onto the floor pinning her arms over her head. "I think you owe me an apology."

"Nah, I don't feel like it," Jane smirked, not expecting Maura to press her knee against her crotch. "Maura, that's not being fair," she groaned.

"I think this is a fair playing field, ma'am," she moved her knee slightly.

"Not when you have my hands pinned over my head while you're doing that," Jane bit her bottom lip, feeling the warmth in-between her legs.

"You're not complaining, are you?" Maura raised a brow. "Because if you complain we're going to have a very sexless vacation."

At Maura's words Jane shook her head, "No I'm not complaining, that'd be crazy."

"It would be," Maura leaned down towards Jane's face, taking her bottom lip into her mouth, sucking gently, before pulling back with a pop, all while continuing to roll her knee against Jane's heat. She laced her fingers with Jane's, giving them a squeeze. "How bad do you want me?"

Jane licked her lips, "I want you so bad Maura, I want you to fuck me right here on the floor," she spoke in a low tone, completely aroused.

"Is that all you want?" Maura smirked.

Jane groaned, she knew what Maura wanted to hear, "I want you to fuck me with those wonderful fingers of yours, I want you to make me cum so hard on your fingers, letting me suck my juices off of them after I orgasm. Satisfied?"

"You will be that's for sure," Maura let go of Jane's fingers, moving to unbutton Jane's pants. Jane smiled at the woman's actions, as she pushed her pants half down her legs, she ran her fingers slowly over the soft fabric of Jane's underwear which was already a little damp. Maura smirked, feeling Jane twitch beneath her fingers. "I love how turned on I can get you."

"It still surprises me until this very day," Jane felt her body grow warm, especially as Maura moved her underwear out of the way.

"You're so perfect Jane, so damn perfect," her fingers played with Jane's entrance, teasing her a little before inserting two fingers at the same time, causing Jane's hips to jerk upwards.

"Jesus Maura," Jane whimpered, rolling her hips downwards as Maura started to pump her fingers inside of Jane. Each thrust of her fingers got harder and faster, driving Jane absolutely insane. "Oh God..." she tilted her head back as Maura inserted a third. Jane closed her eyes and clenched her jaw, Maura was about to make Jane lose her mind.

"You like that Jane?" Maura whispered against Jane's ear, nipping at her earlobe.

"So much, fuck me faster..." Jane begged, groaning as Maura complied. Jane's grunts got louder the faster Maura's fingers pumped inside of her. "Oh... my...God..." Jane panted. "I'm... I'm almost... Maura!" Jane shouted as her body shook, the orgasm taking over her whole soul as she came against Maura's fingers.

Jane let out a breath as Maura slowed down the movement of her fingers. Maura was grinning from ear to ear as Jane tried to catch her breath. Jane took Maura by the hand and licked the juices off of them, just like she said she would. Maura moaned, closing her eyes enjoying her wife's mouth around her fingers. "How are you feeling?"

"Pretty fucking incredible, thanks to my beautiful wife and her amazing arm strength, knowing how exactly to get me going," Jane smiled licking her lips before capturing Maura's mouth for a kiss.

Jane deepened the kiss, letting their tongues run against each other's, Jane was about to flip Maura over and fuck her when they both pulled back, hearing a knock on the front door. "Well someone ruined the moment," Jane grumbled as Maura laughed, kissing Jane's cheek before fixing her hair.

"Just think Jane we'll have a lot of uninterrupted moments on our trip," Maura winked, before getting up to answer the door.

"Good morning Maura!" the twins greeted.

Jane slowly made her way over to the door after she slid her underwear and pants back on, "Hey kids, hey Tommy... where's Frost?"

"He had a crime scene to attend to," Tommy told Jane before looking at Maura, "Shouldn't you be there too, being the Chief medical examiner and all."

Maura shrugged, "Nobody called me in," she went to go retrieve her phone and frowned. "Well no wonder why, my phone's not on," Maura sighed as she turned on her phone just as BPD called. "Rizzoli-Isles. Yes I'm on my way," she groaned. "Sorry Jane, I have to get to work, I'll make sure they know our plans so they don't call me on our trip, that'd be embarassing."

Jane nodded kissing her cheek, "Shouldn't you change your clothes first? People might think you're doing the walk of shame."

"I always have a change of clothes in my car," Maura smiled. "Plus that wouldn't be totally off. I'll see you twins later, you as well Tommy," she gave Jane's brother a nod before heading out of the door.

"What trip was Maura talking about?" Tommy asked.

"Oh that, I was actually going to discuss it with the kids when they came back, I guess you can know too. Maura and I have been having some problems, like own personal problems and I suggested that maybe we could take a trip and get out there and have some much needed alone time. Maura agreed with me," Jane told Tommy before squatting down to get eye level with the twins. "Would you two be okay with us going on a vacation, just me and her? You'll get to spend a lot of time with Angela, and Korsak and all of your uncles. And we'll still call you and video chat if you guys start to miss us, I'm sure me and Maura would miss you guys as well. Plus Maura's birthday is coming up soon and it'd be a nice gift for her."

Todd and Kate looked at each other for a moment before turning back to Jane and grinned. "Okay."

"Okay?" Jane asked and they nodded again. "And you guys will be okay if Maura and I take a few weeks before coming back? I'll still be checking in with the family and make sure they are not spoiling you all too much, plus we will take a lot of pictures to show you when we get back from travelling around the states. Just know we aren't abandoning you both and we are going to come back. We'll always come back to you both."

Kate moved to give Jane a hug, "I'm going to miss you, but I understand, adults need time away."

"Yeah," Todd nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets. "I hope you guys have fun. Mama always promised us to go on a road trip one day, you will remember to take pictures?" he asked and Jane nodded, pulling him in for a hug.

"Of course, we're going to capture a lot on this vacation, because who knows when me and Maura will have a chance to go out and travel again. And you guys will remember to remind whoever you are with to come back and feed Chad, right?" Jane directed towards the both of them.

"We couldn't forget about Chad Jane, he's family," Todd smiled.

"Okay, as long as you're sure," she patted their heads. "Why don't you guys go upstairs and pack some things, I can drop you guys off to grandma's, plus I need to see baby Julian and talk to them about our arrangements before we leave." The twins nodded, and vanished up the stairs. Jane stood up and noticed Tommy smirking. "What?"

"You're so great with those kids Janie," he responded by pulling her into a hug. "I never imagined that you could seem so motherly. It's nice seeing you interact with them. I'm sure going to miss you when you go road tripping with Maura, I remember when I got away to get my life on track, travelling some states were very exciting."

"They mean a lot to me, but this is definitely something Maura and I need to do. I'm glad that the twins won't feel abandoned. Just, while we're gone, please make sure that they are okay."

Tommy pulled away from the hug and nodded, "I got you Jane, just remember don't stress while you're on vacation, because that's not much of a vacation at all."

"Thanks for the intel," Jane rolled her eyes.

"You know when you come back after a few weeks it's going to be really close to me and Barry's wedding. Everyday that it gets closer the more shocked I am of how well things are going for us. If Barry never gave us another try, who knows how I'd be. I always have this fear that I'm going to fuck up somehow, we don't get into arguments, besides the one where I gotten drunk and could have made a huge mistake and this is the most stable relationship I ever have. His mother and her partner both like me, I sort of wish his father would be supportive."

"I don't know if I say it enough Tommy, but I'm so proud of you, of the man you've become this past year alone. You make me proud Tommy, I know that you don't hear that enough," she rested a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for ever giving you a hard time whenever it came to Frost, you really mean a lot to him and I'm so glad you are going to marry each other, you guys have a great support system. Frost really has been so much happier since he let you back into his life as a romantic partner. Although I'm sort of jealous you've been hogging him."

"He talks about you all the time, he had been really upset once you left working at the precinct. I assured him that your guy's friendship is still strong. Man, he's going to be really upset hearing you want to go on vacation," Tommy rubbed the back of his neck.

Jane sighed, "I'm going to miss him too, but it's not like we're moving. Boston is my home and I don't plan on leaving it, not until me and Maura are retired. Maybe we can all have dinner at Ma's before we leave, I'm sure everyone would enjoy it."

"I'm in Janie. I have nothing to do today so maybe I'll tag along with you and the twins at Ma's."

"Sure, I'm sure Ma would love seeing you. She's really proud of you too, you know that right?"

Tommy nodded, "She tells me that on occasion. I'm going to see if the kids are actually packing."

Jane shrugged, "Alright, but you only have yourself to blame when checking on them ends up with you doing all the work."

"What kind of sucker do you take me for Janie?"

"A huge one, that's what."

Tommy frowned, and rolled his eyes, "That question was rhetorical," he grumbled before heading upstairs to check on the twins.

Jane chuckled before going to make herself some breakfast. "A big sucker indeed."

A few hours have passed Maura let Kent do the autopsy, she was impressed with what he could do especially since this was his second time she let him perform the autopsy. He didn't like making any sort of guesses either which amused her with how alike they were in that aspect of things.

Frankie become impatient with Kent's rant of what he was doing. He said all he wanted was results, not a whole science lesson. It sort of reminded her of how frustrated Jane got when she first started working here, Jane had absolutely no patience whatsoever with her work technique, but like everything else Jane had gotten used to it.

"Frankie, are you going to be alright with Kent being in charge down here while I'm gone?" Maura asked, as she stood by Frankie as Kent finally made the Y incision.

"See Frankie, just what I meant, perfect precision gets the job done right. The victim is already well... dead so they aren't in a rush to go anywhere," Kent looked up at Frankie with a smile.

"I'd really like a cause of death Kent, it helps me do my job," he crossed his arms before turning to Maura whispering, "How long are you and Janie going to be gone for?"

"Just a couple of weeks, you can handle it right? Plus Susie will always be around if you find Kent to be a little irritating."

"A little irritating?" Frankie chuckled.

Kent looked up, "I can hear you Detective Rizzoli."

"That's kind of the point there Kent," Frankie shook his head.

"Kent, if you got a handle on this I have a few things I need to do before I head out for my vacation. Frankie can you be patient with Kent it's better to do things slow then to rush things," Maura gave him a smile before heading toward her office, she kept the blinds open because it could give her a clear view of the autopsy tables.

Maura started to check and reply to all of her emails, before doing some paperwork. Eventually when she looked up Frankie left the autopsy room, looking like he was glad that Kent was finally done.

She observed as Kent nicely placed the body in the cooler, looked like he was talking to him, saying a goodbye before he closed the door. He took off his gloves and threw them in the trash, file in his hand and he approached Maura's office. "So, what's the verdict Doc?" Maura looked up to greet him with a smile.

"The man Joseph was not murdered, that's always a good thing, too bad his heart gave out while he was running. So, you seemed excited on the phone last night about your trip with Jane. Pretty spur of the moment thing, isn't it?"

Maura nodded, "You could say that. I know when you first came here I told you that we shouldn't discuss personal matters, but I think we know each other enough now. Jane and I just haven't been feeling ourselves lately, it's something much needed to sort of rekindle our romance so to speak."

"I wasn't aware you were having an issue, I guess I should have known, you had been sort of silent the past week. I was starting to think there was trouble in paradise."

"Nothing Jane and I can't handle. It's sweet that you're concerned, but we sort of just lost the excitement and being alone in each other's company. You don't have any ulterior motives for being concerned, do you?" Maura raised her eyebrow.

"Of course not. I just don't like seeing you upset, and I was cheated on remember, I wouldn't even think of coming in between you and your wife, who I have yet to meet. Maybe after your little trip I can meet this wife of yours?" Kent suggested and Maura smiled.

"That sounds like a pleasant idea Kent, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I do have a picture of her on my desk that you have yet to notice," she pointed to the framed photo.

Kent picked it up and smiled admiring the photo with both Maura and her wife with a tortoise. "You have a tortoise?"

Maura nodded, "His name is Chad, long story short, we met a great guy in New York who gave us amazing room service, plus Jane and I liked the name Chad, so behold our tortoise. I used to have one before his name was Bass, now he's at the zoo."

"That's cool, your wife is beautiful by the way, and you look absolutely breathtaking in this photo," Kent put the photo down and Maura gave him a warning look. "I'm not hitting on you I swear, just... I know beautiful women when I see them. And your wife is the sister of Frankie, this Rizzoli family seems to have impeccable genes."

Maura raised her brow at his comment. "Kent, is there something you need to tell me?"

Kent looked up at Maura and she could see his cheeks redden. "Uh me, no... I should get back to work, I have a lot to do..." he turned quickly trying to leave.

"Kent, you know you can safely discuss anything with me, right?" Maura asked and he stopped in his tracks once she spoke, turning to look at her for a moment.

"Yeah I know, but honest there's nothing to talk about. Am I free to go?" Kent shuffled on his feet and Maura nodded.

"Yes, you may go carry on with your work, close the door on your way out please," she focused her attention back on her computer. She looked up once the door closed. Kent trying to be friendly to Frankie totally made sense to Maura now. "You really shouldn't assume things Maura," she lightly scolded herself before starting on her itinerary of her and Jane's trip.

She only got a little further with the outline of her and Jane's trip, she took a break just as Jane called her. Maura answered her phone, and smiled to herself, "Thank you for calling the phone of Dr. Maura Rizzoli-Isles, Chief Medical Examiner of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, how may I be of service to you."

"Yes, this is Jane Rizzoli-Isles, wanting to speak to her wife," Jane responded, Maura could hear the teasing tone in her wife's voice. "I hope she isn't busy. It's very important I talk to her."

"Hey Jane, how's it going, have you been packing?"

"Yeah I'm all done, I would have packed for you, but you wouldn't like the lack of clothes I'd put in your suitcases," Jane smiled. "I'm actually at Ma's with the twins, you are formally invited to join us and my family for a dinner before our tour around the USA."

"Well I for one would be very excited to join everyone for dinner. I should be done with work soon." Maura spoke, looking up and seeing Kent pass her office. "Hey I was curious, maybe Kent can join us for dinner tonight. He really wants to meet you, I told him he could join us for a dinner once we came back from our trip. But this seems like the perfect opportunity."

"You sure he wants to meet the whole Rizzoli family?"

"I don't see why not, he's very friendly and he needs to get out more," Maura replied before pausing a moment. "Was there anything else you wanted to discuss?"

"Um yeah... tonight once we get home I'm going to take that pregnancy test I put on hold from taking... I'm kind of nervous and conflicted about what I want the results to be."

"Well I'm sure whatever the results are, we'll handle it accordingly."

"Of course. Well I'll let you get back to doing things. Getting everything in order?"

"Do you even have to ask?" Maura asked and Jane laughed.

"I guess not, you're always so on top of things."

"Yes, that I am, and we both know how I like being on top," she spoke seductively causing Jane to groan.

"Mhm, I'll talk to you later before we start something neither of us can finish."

"Well I know I could finish, but that'd be unprofessional of me."

"Yeah, that's for sure. See you for dinner in an hour or two Doc. I hope Kent can handle himself."

"Oh he holds himself up pretty nicely."

"Mhm, make sure he brings his cape and buns of steel." Jane laughed before hanging up. Maura shook her head focusing back on her task at hand.

About an hour and a half later Maura stood beside Kent on Angela and Korsak's porch. "This feels like you're bringing a date home to meet the family, I haven't felt this many nerves since high school prom. I picked up my date and her father opened the door, he was pretty intense, if I remember correctly I cried on his porch," Kent told Maura who laughed.

"You poor soul. Well good thing we're just friends so you won't have to handle tough adults trying to break you. Well there is Jane, but that's a different story," Maura responded as the front door finally opened. It was Frost.

"Hey Maura. Oh, hey Kent wasn't expecting to see you here."

"Hey Detective Frost, Maura invited me, decided that I could meet her lovely wife and then her whole family apparently."

Frost laughed, "Lovely wife? Not while there's this game on TV."

"Barry, she isn't cursing in front of the twins, is she?" Maura asked with a rise of her brow.

"Let's just say she's saying bad words in a kid friendly kind of way, plus they have been distracted helping Angela in the kitchen." Frost stepped to the side to finally let them in, he patted Kent's back before telling him something quietly. Maura took notice and was confused, she heard Jane calling her name.

"Maura! Come watch the game, maybe if you watch they'll play better." Jane waved her over.

"Jane maybe you could come here for a moment," she eyed her wife, nodding towards Kent. Jane groaned, getting up from the couch, letting her brothers continue watching the game as Frost sat back down next to Tommy, where Jane was just sitting.

Jane walked over to Maura and looked at the man standing next to her. Jane gave him a glance over, crossing her arms, "You didn't bring your cape or buns of steel. I'm not impressed," she spoke as Maura nudged her in the side.

"I'm flattered you think I'm a super hero. I'm Kent Drake, you must be Jane, Maura talks about you all of the time," he extended his hand out for Jane to take.

"Oh she does, does she?" Jane smiled at her wife, shaking Kent's hand. "And I know someone who talks about you," Jane mentioned. "Probably not exactly in good ways, but you've been mentioned a few times tonight actually."

Kent pulled his hand away and eyed her suspiciously, "Was it Frost or Frankie?"

"I guess you'll just have to find out," Jane smiled smugly before going back to the couch, shoving the three boys over.

"Don't mind my wife, sometimes I don't even understand her, come on I'll let you meet Angela and the twins," Maura walked him to the kitchen, the kids hands were covered in dough making what looked to be cannoli. "Good evening twins, Angela."

"Hi Maura," the kids greeted. "Grandma is letting us help with dessert."

"They've been such great helpers, we're going to have quite a lot of fun while you and Jane go on that road trip of yours. You'll keep in touch with me right, I don't expect Jane to. And who's your friend?"

"Of course we'll keep in touch Angela. And this is Kent Drake. Kent Drake, this is Angela, Jane's mother and these are the twins I told you about Kate and Todd Carmichael."

"Well it's very nice meeting the three of you," Kent smiled. "Are you two making cannoli?"

The twins nodded, "Wanna help?"

Kent looked at Angela, "May I?" The moment he asked Angela's eyes lit up, handed him an apron and told him to wash his hands. Kent smiled doing as he was told. Angela pulled Maura to the side.

"Where in the world did this man come from? All my children are bums and go straight to the television. I didn't expect it from Frost to become a couch potato."

"Well Kent is very friendly, he's been a very good assistant for me. I've been kind of envious of his intelligence."

Angela nodded, "Jane was telling me about that. You'll always be the smartest person I know."

Maura smiled, "Jane said the same thing to me."

"Well my daughter can be pretty smart sometimes. I'm glad you and Jane are able to get away from life for a bit. Excited for your trip?"

"Very excited," Maura nodded. "I know the twins are excited to be spending a lot of time with you and Vince. Speaking of Vince, where is he?"

"There was an emergency at the Dirty Robber, he should be back soon, but by this rate he'll be missing dinner," Angela shrugged. "I'm going to go back and assist Kent and the twins. You can go see Julian if you'd like. I put him down for a nap two hours ago, he was getting quite fussy. Plus you can get experience before you and Jane have your own baby."

Maura nodded, "Yeah, hands on experience is always the best thing for future parenting, you're doing the mothering thing pretty well Angela."

"You're going to do just as fine, the twins are definitely making me realize this. Both you and Jane were fit for being parents," Angela smiled, resting her hand on Maura's shoulder.

"It means a lot that you think that," Maura smiled before going to the nursery. She seen baby Julian fussing. "Hey Julian, it's okay, it's just Maura," she spoke softly, picking him up and cradling him. "See I'm not so scary, now am I?" Maura sat down in the chair in the corner. "You're such a precious little thing, you know that. So little, yet so loved. Remember what we talked about when you were in the incubator, how I never really got to hold my own child before it was taken out of my arms. I never thought I'd get a chance to hold a baby that survived a very difficult birth. A lot of things have been going on lately that I wouldn't have imagined a few years ago. Before I met your sister I had a very difficult life. You're a real lucky one, you'll grow up never having to doubt if you are loved or not." Maura felt tears fall from her cheeks, lifting one hand up to wipe them away. She looked up noticing Jane leaning against the doorframe. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Not too long," Jane pushed herself off of the doorframe. "Came to tell you it was time for dinner... guess I sort of got entranced by you and Julian. You seem so natural holding him, if it's possible, it makes me love you even more," she walked over to her wife. "May I hold him?" Maura nodded, standing up before handing Julian over to Jane. "Maura is something special, isn't she, JFK?" Jane spoke softly, smiling at Maura. "You're definitely the greatest person."

"Jane, I'd rather not cry again, if you don't mind," Maura smiled sadly, wiping her eyes.

"Of course, it's true though," Jane kissed the top of Maura's head. "I think Julian fell back asleep," she looked down at the sleeping baby, slowly placing him back in his crib before linking her arm with Maura's. "I love you."

"I love you too Jane," Maura smirked as they left the nursery and joined the others at the table for dinner. They sat next to Kent who was sitting next to Frankie.

"Ma you definitely outdid yourself with dinner," Jane mentioned. Angela glanced up at her daughter.

"Well it wasn't all just me, Kate and Todd were very big helpers unlike my children," she lightly scowled.

"You love cooking dinner for us though Ma," Tommy inputted, receiving a nudge in the ribs from Frost. "Ouch Barry. You didn't help either."

"You don't have to disrespect your mother though."

"How is what I said disrespecting Ma?"

Frost shook his head, "If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you."

"Are you children done with your bickering?" Jane eyed the men across the table from her.

"You guys have a very interesting family dynamic," Kent spoke up with a smile.

"Yeah, well welcome to Rizzoli family dinner, sure you want to stick around."

"He helped with the cannolis Jane," Kate spoke up.

"Well I hope he was very helpful, you know Kent, the cannoli is my most favorite choice of dessert," she eyed him up and down. "Would hate for you to have ruined my favorite dessert."

"Are you threatening me Jane?" Kent smirked. "Well you're in luck, I'm not one to feel threatened."

"Oh you should feel very threatened by me Kent," Jane raised her glass to her lips, taking a sip.

"I'll be on the lookout for any danger then, but that will be the best cannoli you've ever had. Mark my words, right twins?"

Kate and Todd nodded, "Yes sir."

"You're so smug Kent Drake, don't you think so Frankie?" Jane glanced over at her brother who was focused on his dinner.

"What?" he asked, he definitely wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.

"I called Kent smug, isn't that what you called him earlier?"

"What I said was when he smiles he seems kind of smug," he shrugged. "Sorry Kent, I just didn't get a good first impression from you."

"I think my brother may be going through some sort of PMS, my apologies," Jane patted his hand. "His mood seems to come and go these days."

"It's alright, I've heard quite a few stories about you Frankie from Gwen when her and I dated, she really seemed to like you more than me."

"Really? She talked about me?"

"Yeah it's no wonder she strayed from me. I wasn't as great as Frankie Rizzoli. That's why I want to be your acquaintance amongst other things," Kent admits, causing Frankie to frown.

"Oh, you really want to be my friend?"

"Of course, we both got hurt by Gwen that's a thing sometimes exes of the same girl becoming friends. She would really hate that."

At those words Frankie smirked, "You know what, that sounds like a great idea. We might get along after all."

"Do you two need to get a room or something?" Tommy asked, looking between the two, grinning. Jane kicked her younger brother under the table. "Hey Jane, what was that for?"

"If you don't know I'm not going to tell you," Jane smirked, repeating Frost's words from earlier.

"You and Barry are so rude," Tommy rolled his eyes.

"I'm sorry Tommy, sometimes you just say things that are better kept in your head," Frost shrugged, leaning over to give him a kiss. "It's still a work in progress," Frost rested his hand on Tommy's leg, rubbing it gently.

Tommy flushed. "Maybe we should get a room."

"Later," Frost whispered, before standing up. "Jane want to help me get the dessert?"

Jane looked between Kent and Frankie before nodding, "Yeah sure," she got up from the chair and followed Frost in the kitchen. "Did I miss something Frost?"

Frost looked at his friend in confusion, "What do you mean?"

"You're the only one here who works with Kent and Frankie, well Maura does too but sometimes she can be oblivious. I feel like I've missed something."

"You didn't, they both don't like Gwen right now, and Kent is just being friendly. Are you insinuating that Frankie... and Kent?" Frost pulled the cannolis out of the fridge.

Jane shrugged, "You heard the way Frankie was talking about him before he showed up, he spoke negatively but his eyes said something totally different."

"I wouldn't read too much into it. I know you must be bored not being a detective so you're trying to detect something that's probably not even there."

Jane huffed, "Maybe you're right. I feel like I hardly know my own brother anymore."

"You and me both, I wish I could make both of your brothers happy, but that's pretty impossible."

"I'll say. You're such a great guy, and I'm really glad you chose Tommy. Just wish since I was done worrying about Tommy I wouldn't have to worry about Frankie now. How's him and Crowe doing?"

"I haven't the slightest idea Jane. It kind of worries me."

"Hey Janie, Frost, where's our dessert?" Tommy shouted towards the kitchen.

"I swear I'm going to smack that boy," Jane muttered.

"Maura was right you have seemed to watch too much NCIS, you really are turning into Gibbs with the smacking," Frost chuckled, grabbing the plate of cannolis. "Better you than me," he nodded before going back to the dining room. Jane was in tow, going up behind Tommy to smack him in the back of the head.

"Hey Jane! What gives?"

"That's for being impatient," she scolded as Todd laughed at him.

"Uncle Tommy, why do you keep getting yourself hit?"

"Oh, you find that funny, do you squirt?" Tommy shook his head in amusement.

Maura shook her head at their shenanigans, "Admit it Jane, you're going to miss your family," she smiled as her wife sat back down next to her.

"I guess to a certain extent," Jane shrugged. "Enjoying yourself there Kent?"

"Very much so, I hope you enjoy that cannoli Jane."

"I was just teasing you Kent, nobody can ruin a cannoli, not even you," Jane bit into it and smirked. "See, delicious. Good job twins."

"Thanks Jane," they said with their mouths full.

"Thanks to you as well Kent. You're not bad company after all. I'm glad Maura gets to work with you, just don't try to take her away from me."

"Oh trust me, Maura and I have an understanding, that's the last thing I want to do, come between something as beautiful as you both."

Jane turned to Maura. "Is he always like this?"

Maura nodded. "Told you he's very friendly."

"I'll say, a smug, flirty basta-" she stopped herself getting an evil glare from her mother. "Um, you know what, Maura and I should probably go home to finish getting ready for our trip. Right Maura? I mean you haven't even started to pack yet. That could take a while."

"You only want to leave before you get in trouble with your mother, but that sounds like a good idea. There's still a lot that we need to do. Thanks for the wonderful dinner Angela. And Kent, I trust that you'll keep my office and things in autopsy in order, just telling you now I do not enjoy coming back to a lot of files, or a mess... actually I gave you several notes and an outline of what needs to be done just so when I come back things will be in order," she spoke boss like to Kent. "And Kate, Todd, make sure all of your uncles stay out of trouble. I know that seems like a hard task. And you listen to what the adults say, but I trust in you guys."

The twins who finished their dessert got up from the table to go give Maura and Jane both hugs, "Try not to miss us too much kids," Jane kissed their heads.

Soon after they finished saying their goodbyes they headed back to their house. Jane went to go get herself for bed, as Maura said she would start her packing, but she ended up checking to see if Jane packed properly.

"Um Jane, have you only packed this one bag? I thought you said you finished packing," Maura popped her head into the bathroom as Jane was brushing her teeth.

"I have finished packing, I don't need too much to survive on a road trip, plus I know how much you pack, you definitely have much more variety of clothes to wear, and we both know I hate shopping. There are plenty of laundromats in the US, plus I have a shit ton of quarters."

"Do you want to spend a lot of this trip washing clothes? The more you have, the less you need to wash."

"The way I see it Maura, the chances of us seeing the same people as we travel are slim to none. Plus I can always wear things again if you don't want to stop and wash clothes a lot, I have plenty of undergarments at least, so no worries there," Jane shrugged before rinsing with mouthwash.

Maura shook her head, "Sometimes I worry about you Jane."

"Life would be pretty boring if you didn't," Jane spit out her mouthwash and squatted down to grab something from underneath the counter. "Well, I think it's time I take this test," she took the pregnancy test out of it's box. "So, how does this work?"

"I think it's pretty self explanatory Jane, you pee on one side of the stick and wait a few minutes for the results," Maura still decided to read the directions. "Yep, that's all there is to it, you didn't need me to be in here while you pee, right? Just be here when the results are in?"

"Yes, plus you know I feel uncomfortable peeing with someone in the bathroom. I'll be out in a moment."

Maura nodded, before leaving the bathroom, deciding to put a little bit more clothes in Jane's luggage before getting started on her own. Jane came out of the bathroom, looking at Maura before sitting on the edge of the bed, placing her hands on her lap.

"We can wait a bit," she rubbed at the scars on her hands, Maura stopped a moment, glancing at Jane, before sitting down next to her, she placed her hand on Jane's.

"It's going to be alright Jane," she tried to reassure her wife.

"What if it's not? I still don't know what I hope the results are, the closer it comes to finding out the more nervous I become," she rested her head on Maura's shoulder, Maura kissed the top of Jane's head.

"Well if you're truly unsure how you want to results to pan out, either result should be alright, right?"

"I guess that makes sense," Jane took a deep breath, before standing up. "Let's go see what the outcome is," she grabbed hold of Maura's hand, squeezing her fingers. Maura glanced up at Jane and grew nervous herself. When they got into the bathroom, they both looked towards the test on the counter. Jane had purposely left the pregnancy flipped upside down to hide the results at a glance. They both then turned to look at one another. "How should we go about this?" Jane asked, causing Maura to shrug.

"I'm not sure, should we look at the same time."

"Yeah, maybe that could work," she let go off Maura's hand and grabbed the test off of the counter. "On the count of three, I'll flip it over. One..." she paused for a moment.

"Two..." Maura spoke softly as Jane stood there a few seconds in silence. Jane took a deep breath before giving Maura a look. Maura nodded her head.

"Three," they both said in unison before Jane flipped the test over.

Jane gripped the test tight only seeing one line. "Well, that's that then," Jane frowned, still looking at it, like another line would appear. Maura observed Jane for what seemed like forever, before Jane wiped a stray tear that fell from her eye and tossed the test in the trash, exiting the bathroom. Maura watched her walk away and she sighed. She knew in that moment Jane really wanted it to be positive.

Maura followed her wife into their bedroom, already finding Jane curled up underneath the covers, Maura frowned, sitting down next to Jane, resting her hand on her leg. "Hey, are you going to be okay?"

Jane shook her head, "I-I don't know, you should finish packing, I know you have a lot more to do."

Maura laid down, pulling Jane close to her, "I can pack later, right now I just want to hold you and make sure that you're okay." Jane didn't argue, or complain, all she did was hold Maura tighter. "You know there's a chance it could be a false negative. We can go on our trip and then set up a doctor's appointment when we return."

Jane shrugged, "Can we discuss it later?"

"Of course sweetie, we can discuss it whenever you want," Maura kissed the top of Jane's head. "I'm here for you Jane, whatever you need, I'll be right by your side. You always have me," she whispered.

This chapter definitely ended up on a sad note. My apologies. Our poor babies. They'll bounce back I promise. On another note, I hope you guys are okay with my interpretation of Kent, he's actually real fun to write and poor Frankie, people keep on wanting him haha there were a few good talks in this Tommy/Jane, and Angela's little talk with Maura, and not to mention the cute Rizzlesness with baby Julian and just all scenes with Rizzles, Frost and Jane had a nice little convo, Frost really cares about Frankie and feels bad for him, if only you had a clone Frost then both can be happy probably. Hope it was a good chapter, sorry for my little rant down here. I like talking to you guys after you go through reading my chapters, we're on this ride together after all.
