Even though he hated it, Cappie and Casey had fallen into a nice little routine when it came to Kevin. Cappie got to have him Monday to Thursday at noon, and then Casey took him the rest of Thursday and then Friday, Saturday, Sunday. He was glad she was letting him see Kevin again, but he wished they were still together all living in his bedroom.

What made this week worse was that it was Valentine's Day week. Now that most of the brothers (at least the ones he considered himself closest to) had girlfriends, they had spent most of the week off with them and not spending any time at the house.

"Looks like it's just you and me again kid." Cappie said to his son and they sat in the glider rocking chair the pledges had gotten for Casey.

Kevin started getting fussy so Cappie brought him downstairs to get some breakfast. He made a bottle for Kevin and poured himself a bowl of cereal. The house was eerily quiet, something not typical of Kappa Tau. The only real sound for the past few days came from knocks on the door of girls looking for their dates. That same sound occurred once again while the boys were trying to enjoy their breakfast.

"Who the heck could that be?" Cappie asked Kevin in his baby-talk voice.

There were no more brothers in the house, so it couldn't have been a girl, unless it was Casey. He shook that from his head and rolled his eyes, knowing that would never happen.

"You know you already emasculated enough of my brother's, there aren't any left for your stupid V-Day mixers!" Cappie yelled as he opened the door. His mouth dropped when he saw who was on the other side.

"Surprise!" Cappie's parents said in unison.

"And you know we never celebrated Valentine's Day anyway, so we're not trying to steal your brothers for a mixer." Cappie's dad added as Cappie let them in the house.

He was still dumbfounded. "April, Tobias, what are you guys doing here?"

"We can't just come and surprise our favorite son and see him in his natural habitat?" Tobias asked.

"Now come and give your momma a hug!" April said happily, pulling Cappie into a hug.

It was then that she finally noticed Kevin in Cappie's arms.

"And who is this little peanut?" April asked, making silly faces at Kevin.

Cappie stood there for a second trying to figure out how to tell them. Since his parents were barely in the picture, he never thought about telling them that he had gotten a girl pregnant, or the fact that he was raising this kid in a weird new relationship with his son's mother.

"Uhm." Cappie stammered. "Why don't you guys sit down. There is a lot we need to catch up on."

April and Tobias followed Cappie into the living room. They all sat down and Cappie got Kevin situated on his lap.

"So...this one's mine." Cappie decided to just come out and say it.

April and Tobias were a little shocked at first, but then huge smiles were plastered across their faces.

"Congratulations honey! He's gorgeous! I mean look at those chubby little cheeks!" April practically yanked Kevin out of Cappie's arms. "So, what's his name?"

"Kevin Thomas. KT for short." Cappie said.

"Thomas, after your grandfather." April almost teared up. "That's so sweet. Thank you."

"So, who's the lucky girl?" Tobias asked. "With this kid's good looks she must be gorgeous."

"Uh." Cappie didn't really want to answer that question. How was he going to explain his and Casey's situation?

April and Tobias could tell something was up.

"Uh oh, was it some random hookup that decided she didn't want to be a mom?" April asked, still playing with her grandson.

"Nothing like that, no." Cappie finally came clean. "His mom is Casey."

April and Tobias smiled.

"Oh honey. Your first love. How sweet." April said.

"I was right. She is a very lucky girl." Tobias added. "Looks like you've got your own little family now."

Cappie shrugged his shoulders. "Thanks dad, but not exactly."

"What do you mean?" Tobias asked.

As if on cue, Kevin start fussing.

"Sounds like my little man is hungry again, as am I since you interrupted breakfast. Why don't we go out for lunch and I'll try and explain everything." Cappie said, taking Kevin back from his mom.

April and Tobias agreed, knowing they had something important to tell him as well.
