Chapter 106 Sewer Split

Deep within the sewer of Goza City, Danny, Maddie, Crash, Tucker, Wulf, and Valerie were making their way to the Capitol. Tucker had an old blueprint of the Capitol building pulled up on his screen and he believed their was an entrance to the Capitol in the sewer. The group marched on with Tucker and Wulf leading the way.
Maddie was currently wearing a mask over her face to help disguise herself from Jazz, when they found and rescued her. She planned to eventually reveal her Jedi past to Jazz as well as her Rebel involvement, but right now it was better to keep it all a secret from Jazz for her safety. There was a time and place to reveal the truth, but now was not the right time or place. Maddie was keeping up a calm and cool demeanor on the outside, but on the inside she was greatly worried and concerned for her daughter's health and wellbeing and she could sense the same emotions coming from Danny.
Danny was greatly worried about Jazz and he kept having flashbacks to the Tartarus, when several violent inmates had escaped their cells and Jazz had unfortunately been in the area. It had been a close call, but Danny had saved his sister and managed to keep his identity secret from her. Now Jazz was in a worse situation with more dangerous criminals threatening her life. And to make matters worse, Danny could sense Wraith was somewhere within the Capitol, which made the mission more complicated and dangerous. Thankfully Wraith hadn't tried to make contact with Danny through the Force, which could mean Wraith was very distracted with what was going on in the Capitol. Danny hoped that he could save Jazz and put a stop to Youngblood's plans without getting into any fights with Wraith, but he had a feeling he wasn't going to be that lucky.
The Rebels continued down a series of tunnels, when suddenly they heard voices up ahead and saw a bit of light coming from one of the other tunnels. Danny and the others turned off their flashlights and crouched down as half a dozen pirates walked by their tunnel carrying what appeared to be explosives.
"Alright we're almost there. The captain wants us to place these explosives around these tunnels to deal with any intruders that might come this way." Said one pirate.
"These explosives can also come in handy incase the plan goes wrong and we need to make a getaway." Said another pirate.
The pirates walked by the tunnel the Rebels were in and the Rebels waited a few minutes before they turned their lights back on. The Rebels exchanged concerned looks and Maddie spoke.
"We're going to need to deal with those pirates and their explosives. Looks like some of will need to split up from the mission to deal with them. I'll handle them, while the rest of you continue on." Said Maddie.
"Mom." Said Danny.
"I can handle this. Stealth is required for a mission like and I'm very experienced at that. You just focus on rescuing Jazz and the other hostages." Said Maddie.
Before Danny could say anything or make any arguments, Wulf suddenly let out a low growl and shoved Tucker to the ground as the water near them suddenly exploded and Meglar came flying out roaring. Meglar slammed into Wulf and smashed him into a wall, before he chomped his jaws into Wulf's shoulder making him cry out in pain and anger.
"Wulf!" Cried Tucker in alarm as he shot to his feet.
Wulf swiped his claws at Meglar's face leaving scratches on it and making Meglar release him. He then tackled the shark alien to the ground and the two of them began to claw and bite at each other as they rolled across the ground.
"Go!" Bellowed Wulf as he continued to fight Meglar.
At that moment two of the bomber pirates came running onto the scene and saw what was happening. The pirates pulled out their blasters and began firing at the Rebels. Maddie quickly activated her lightsaber and began deflecting the shots.
"Go and complete the mission. Wulf and I will try and catch up." Said Maddie.
Danny and the others reluctantly left the area. The two pirates fled down a tunnel after their four comrades and Maddie chased after them. Wulf and Meglar continued to fight and roll across the ground getting closer to the water.
Danny and his three remaining friends continued down a few more tunnels, until they came across a hatch. They opened it and found themselves in the lowest part of the Capitol. The Rebels had made it. Now they just had to focus on rescuing the hostages and beating the pirates.
Back in the sewers, Fright Knight and his assault squad were making their own way to the Capitol, unaware that they were going to encounter more then just pirates in the sewer.
