The Beginnings of a New Life
Chapter 109th
Shannon was feeling slightly uncomfortable with the question to Gibbs.
"I must say ever since that time it's not been boring at all that's for sure everyone?"
Gibbs had to say with quickly looking over at Shannon.
"Tell me Jethro was our marriage boring?" this was one question asked by her to have Gibbs on the defensive.
"Far from it as well Shannon. Even though you always did keep me on my toes for when you followed me to Camp Pendleton in order to be a witness against Pedro Hernandez. And where did it leave me in that aspect?"
"When I had found out about Hernandez to be coming after me and Kelly. I decided to call the Witness Protection Program. I didn't have the chance to tell you at that time. We were flown out of the country with only grabbing a few items from the house and headed for Italy and a Witness Protection Program compound with many others for 24 years. The last 10 plus years we were allowed to live new lives and names so that the Cartel regime won't be able to find out about us still being alive."
Shannon responded with the truth of the matter.
"After I had thought that the both of you died. I remarried three more times. And in each case these marriages really didn't last all that long. Even my friend Doctor Donald Mallard had hooked me up with someone for which I was so obsessed with working all of the time. So I decided to date on occasions and including a woman with her last name Colonel Ellen Wallace died in the 911 destruction of the Pentagon. I was engaged to her before breaking the engagement with having been scared."
"Daddy I am very sorry about all this from over the years. Are you happy now with being married to Loreile with the two boys?" she needed to say with looking over at Shannon with a disgusted look on her face.
"Very much so Kelly! It wasn't like that with being married to Diane, Stephanie and Rebecca. Otherwise it was a long time before I was able to date anyone else. The last time was Doctor Samantha Ryan before she was scared away by another terrorist Harper Dearing and involved with the explosion of the Naval Yards to kill a number of the employees."
"I had heard something of it on the news daddy. I understand that Harper Dearing's body was found at his old house of his parents with having died from a knife wound to the stomach." she said with seeing the haunted face of her father.
"NCIS and the F.B.I. had tried for a long time with trying to catch him in the act. Until they had received a tip about Dearing's body. This is when the case was closed and with me losing a woman that I had cared about." he softly said to the group in his room.
"Daddy did you ever see her again?" she asked with the sensitive question.
"I have a few months back when I was in the hospital once again. I was in the Harrisburg, hospital in Georgia. She had been living there seven years as a therapist at the hospital. We were able to have three different therapist sessions to discuss a number of issues." he said.
"It must of been hard to talk with the woman?" she responded while looking over at her husband James listening as with her mother Shannon and Alex.
"It was Kelly. Otherwise I was just glad to come home after finishing up the undercover operation. It's a long story to explain the entire situation."
"I understand Daddy. Believe me we had our share of weird situations while we were at the compound and especially for when we were released to head into our freedom." Kelly will say with looking over at her husband filled with love on her face and most of all her heart.
"Where were you and mommy when 911 happened?" This was a hard question to answer. Gibbs waited to hear.
Shannon answered first..."I was exercising in the courtyard of the compound. When one of the Witness Protection officers came out of his office to make the sad announcement." she said...
"As for myself I was taking a shower at the time. When I had the radio on to have the news broadcast live from the states began to have the reporter cry." Kelly replied with the sadness of her demeanor.
"Daddy what about yourself?" Kelly needed to asked...
"The night before I was in the basement working on the boat. I decided to sit down to have something to drink with the answering machine with a call from Ellen Wallace. I didn't bother to answer it with being pissed of sorts at myself for breaking it up with her. It was the next morning getting ready for work at NCIS. I had the tv on in the living room when the breaking news came in that the Pentagon had been hit, along with the Towers to have me thinking about ELLEN and many others." he became quiet for the moment.
"As for myself. I was taking a shower at the time when I came out to see the breaking news of the most horrifying event of my life to see. I called out that day for when I was working for the C.I.A." Loreile needed to say.
"At least now the changes had been made with air traffic around the area of the Pentagon, Towers and other key locations of the government?" Gibbs will have to say on the subject.
"But will it work in future time?" Loreile responded..
"Good question Loreile." Gibbs smile..."Anyway enough of the morbid talk everyone."
"Agree." Shannon and Alex in unison had to say together.
"And besides we have trouble all over the globe now for when it comes to the Pandemic. Hopefully soon everyone in the United States will be able to be their vaccine shots?" Loreile responded...
