Aizawa sighed through his nose as the first break of the Sports Festival was announced.
Class A had been doing well to maintain their momentum in the first half of the games. Although the real test would come after the break. Going up against their fellow peers would prove more difficult than a simple obstacle course. Then again, he was certain that facing the villains at the USJ had sparked a change in their newest freshmen.
His brows furrowed at that.
"Eraser," Present Mic clapped a hand to his shoulder heavily, "You gonna go check out how your other student is doing? We've got a few minutes before we've got to get back to the announcement room."
Aizawa shrugged his hand from his shoulder, "Yeah. I wanted to see things are playing out for her. We haven't had much of a chance to talk since the USJ."
He was concerned.
Since her power went haywire during the attack, he feared that an issue similar to that could occur again. The Sports Festival would test her ability to its limits. Which meant that the risk of Black Abyss resurfacing could occur as well.
It was an unsettling thought.
The two made their way out of the announcer's booth. They paused as a familiar figure stepped in their path.
"Eraser!" Thirteen called at to him. "You never told me that your student was so skilled in combat! I had no idea."
He blinked.
Combat?
Did she mean Kagome?
The woman continued, "Higurashi's already made it through to the quarterfinals. At least it would've been the quarterfinals. We actually only had two teams make it past the Calvary Battle. There's only going to be three rounds instead of four this time around."
His brow quirked at that.
"What do you mean?" Now he was curious.
Had something happened to wipe out the other teams during the Calvary Battle? Much of the games often shared one or two events among each other between the years. Despite the separate stadiums, the events planned were often done so that it'd be easier to prepare for. In this case they'd switched up the obstacle courses between all three years but kept the calvary battle between the first and second years. The third years had an entirely different event prepared for them.
"Higurashi and her team managed to take out most of the other contestants in a single attack. I'd never seen anything like it!" Thirteen's voice grew curious, "I thought you mentioned that she wasn't all that skilled in combat or fighting?"
They'd both seen her fight at the USJ but her skills were only just beginning to be sharpened at that time. It was evident that someone had been training her recently. Within a few short weeks she'd gone from having a difficult time controlling Crystallize to wielding it as if it were second nature to her.
The implication of such a thing caused him concern.
He'd stopped by the shrine a few times to try to gage her home life. Usually Kagome was away so he wasn't ever able to stay long but the place seemed strange even to him. Lights were left on and he could sense someone within the home that wasn't her. He could tell that Kagome had someone living with her but he had yet to figure out if it was a man or woman let alone their age and overall connection they had to his student.
Recovery Girl had been correct when she'd told him that he needed to build Kagome's confidence up before he did anything else. While that had been his major focus it appeared that someone else had taken the reigns on training her quirk.
Aizawa made his way through the crowd towards the second year's stadium.
He needed to talk to her but first he would do what he should've before as her teacher.
He'd support her.
