Shigaraki glowered at his screen.
"You should pay attention to the first years as well," A masculine voice chided somewhere behind him. "They could prove to be a threat later on."
He nearly snorted at that.
"I'm not worried at all," Shigaraki shot back quickly.
The skin around his throat felt irritated. No matter how much he scratched, it kept coming back.
He pressed the tips of his fingers against his neck. He scraped his nails along the flesh and growled as the irritation only grew worse.
How annoying.
Scarlet eyes thinned at the two males fighting on screen. He didn't have much interest in the other second years. They had power, sure but nothing quite like how Kagome did. The way she blasted through the first two events was proof enough of that.
He blew a snort of laughter through his nose as he recalled the fight between her and Inuyasha. It'd been so quick too. He knew that he wouldn't regret recruiting her. The only hard part now was convincing the woman that his group was only place she could find her true calling.
"Hey doc," The man called to the physician still standing behind him. "How likely is it that she's got both of her parents' quirks?"
He could still recall the way she fell in upon herself. It was no secret that Shinigami's body lacked the immunity needed to wield his own poison effectively. It was why he'd been forced to wear a neck brace during his youth.
If Kagome had taken both Crystallize and Black Abyss from her parents then was it possible for her eventually use both at the same time?
He was curious.
Crystallize already seemed to be working as a natural antidote to the miasmic quality of Black Abyss. At least that would be the case if he was right about his hunch.
The doctor gave a thoughtful hum, "You've already seen the Todoroki boy. Dual quirks are rare and inheriting the genes necessary to wield two quirks at once is even more rare." Beady eyes narrowed behind full moon spectacles, "However there are cases where it's possible. So as for your question, I'd say there's a moderate chance of that being the case based on what you described."
The man continued, "Although it sounds like Crystallize is more like a barrier rather than an antidote. So she likely has less immunity to it than Shinigami did in his early years." He turned on the ball of his heel, "If you want to tap into that power then you need to know what you're risking."
He stopped just long enough to give him a single warning, "Be careful that you do not get caught up in that power as well. Not even All for One would be able to save you."
Shigaraki spoke nothing.
Like he needed to be reminded of that reality.
The real reason why Shinigami was so fearsome was because there was no cure once infected with the miasma. Not only that but it was a brutal and painful way to go. First the nerves were attacked, leaving the victims paralyzed. Then the miasma slowly destroyed the internal organs of their targets while they were still alive. Each victim had been keenly aware of what was happening to them and fully awake during their slow and tortuous deaths. They would've been completely helpless to do anything to stop the pain before it slowly destroyed them.
That was why he was feared.
It was Shinigami's brutality that made him infamous.
His lips curved upwards as a recap of Kagome's match flashed across the screen.
"So what will you become?"
