Chapter 115th
Two days later...
Alex had arrived back at the hospital really early since his wife was going to have the procedure that might take a long time.
When he had arrived on the floor. The lights of the corridor were turned down low before the morning shift arrived and the start of getting his wife ready. When he walked into her room, she was sitting up watching TV with the remote in her hand.
"Shannon good morning," he said before moving on over to her with a kiss to her lips breaking her reverie for the morning.
"I haven't been able to sleep the last few hours Alex. I seem to be thinking too much with my mind on what can happen?' she said with turning off the TV and placing it onto the table. "I already had a steady stream of personnel in this room to make sure I will be alright. Even Doctor Cyril Taft was here earlier talking with cheering me up."
"What about myself Shannon? I will be able to cheer you up once this procedure is over with?" he smirked with Shannon knowing what he was talking about.
"Really Alex! You're just too much at times?" she cried out with placing a hand onto his cheek.
"I just want my wife back Shannon to me. This past year has been hell for the both of us and almost destroying our marriage for the most part," he commented with kissing her harder this time until someone knocked on the door to interrupt once more.
"I am very sorry I am Doctor Deegan working with Doctor Taft. He wants me to take one last EKG before they take you upstairs to the operating room, I understand the observation nose is going to be packed with first and second-year residents along with the press."
"Wow! I am going to be famous?" she commented with the EKG to be done with him to bring in the portable equipment into the room while Alex was asked to go out into the corridor for now. While he saw Gibbs and Loreile walking out of the elevator to visit Shannon as well. Since they had no idea when she will wake up afterward.
"Good morning. Shannon is having one last EKG before they take her out of the room." Alex said with anxiety showing in his demeanor.
"Are you alright Alex?" Loreile needed to ask the question.
"Just worried mostly. I just want Shannon to survive this Gibbs. She's been through too much during the past year with cancer. When she had found out she had felt that her life was over." he cried out with Gibbs placing a hand onto his shoulder for emotional support.
OPERATING ROOM
TIME: 9.30 A.M.
The observation nose was packed including the reporter during the story on Shannon Fielding Gibbs Anderson. His film crew was allowed to film the entire procedure.
Doctors Gilbert, Rolaids, and Suzanne Richardson had placed the equipment onto her legs and breasts for which will be draining any dead cells from her body. Several other devices had been hooked up as well in order to filter the blood of her body.
Anesthesiologist Doctor Franks had been keeping an eye out for the amount of anesthesia. She was wearing a mask to keep up her oxygen levels.
"We need to keep track of how long she will be staying under the anesthesia?" Doctor Richardson needed to say to the group and the team. "How's her vitals Doctor Franks?" she needed to know since it was important.
"BP is 110 over 60 for the moment with her heartrate 96 and oxygen level the same." he cried out.
"Alright let's get started, everyone?" Doctor Rolaids needed to say inside the operating room.
Up in the observation room was the reporter, film crew, and Kelly need to be watching it with great interest. There was this special machine that was draining her mother's blood by cleaning it of any purities along with cancer in her body mostly her breasts and the two legs with the bone marrow.
Along with her heart was being stopped for the next 30 minutes with the team leader to keep track of the time for now. This process wasn't used on Gibbs in the hospital both at SOMALIA and Bethesda. The camera crew along with the reporter was found this rather interesting. Though when it's aired on Tv the viewers will have the choice of watching the graphic report on tv.
All three and including Taft were watching for any changes made with her metabolism system, B.P., and other essentials for when it comes to cancer.
This entire process was heading into the fifth hour with Kelly needing to take a break calling her husband James at the suite resting. When she called he had been up with getting dressed to come to the hospital.
"How's the procedure going Kelly?" he asked with placing on his uniform.
"Taking longer than necessary James. Three times they had to restart mommy's heart. Even though there was some sign that the program was beginning to work. They were going to stick with it for another two hours before removing her from the operating room."
"I will see you there Kelly. I was getting dressed to come to the hospital. Do you want me to pick up any Chinese food?" he asked with his stomach grumbling.
"Please James I am starved for the most part." she inquired.
OPERATING ROOM
Doctor Suzanne Richardson checked the cat-scan once again on whether or not there was any change with the breast cancer and bone marrow.
Taking a look at the film with Doctor Rolaids next to her as she was smiling. She handed it back to him as well very pleased.
"It's working everyone." he cried out with a round of applause inside and above in the observation room. Kelly and James now inside with her before heading out to have the Chinese food.
The camera crew continued to stay further with the story as she heard the reporter tell the cameraman to stay with the scene down below.
