Chapter 117th
When Leroy Jethro Gibbs parked his vehicle next to his house. When he saw the police,
ambulance, gas company, and fire trucks. Phineas was standing with one of the police officers that Gibbs knew as Lt. Benson.
Moving out of his truck he walked over to Lt. Benson with Phineas moving into his embrace crying. "Jethro Gibbs I am happy you're here. They say that both of my adopted parents are dead and that some type of an investigation will be forthcoming," he said.
"Dave did you find anything inside the house?" he looked to see his face knowing that something was going on.
"Phineas can I ask you a favor to wait in my truck while I talk with Lt. Jenson?" he responded with watching the boy head across the street to his truck and with climbing up into the cab. "Okay, what is going on?"
"Gibbs they both had shots into their heads for which Phineas was too scare to noticed. And then the killers turned on the gas with the stove to make it look like they died from the gas. I have Metro to investigate it further Gibbs. I will be sure to have you and NCIS completely updated."
"Thanks, Dave. Do you need anything else from Phineas?" Gibbs needed to ask.
"Where will he be staying?" Lt. Benson needed to know whether they had any other questions.
"With myself and Loreile, along with the two boys. He likes them both as to why he's here all of the time teaching them with the school studies. But right now I am taking him with me to the hospital while visiting a friend of mine after having a procedure."
"You know where to contact me Gibbs." he headed back towards the house to speak with other team members. While the local.
"Listen do you think that this might of been some type of hit with the mob or Cartel since Phineas mother was a terrorist?"
"Let's just say Gibbs that we are checking into anything that might of lead to his adopted parents being shot? Unless they are something that we don't know about like sleepers?" Lt. Benson needed to say to have Gibbs shaking his head on the possible idea.
Gibbs walked away with seeing the coroner's van had pulled up to take both bodies back to the coroner's office. He found Phineas asleep in his seat as he climbed in to turn on the truck's engine leaving him to sleep. He was having an idea that maybe he should leave him at his house in order to keep the boy's company. But instead, he turned to head out on down the street towards the main highway and the hospital.
He wasn't going to break any speed records even though he did notice a tail. Since he was able to pull off to the side for a moment with the blue SUV passing him. He was able to begin moving again by making the circle down to the hospital.
Parking into the underground parking lot. He started to wake Phineas that they have arrived. He was still sleepy with his rubbing his eyes. "Where are we Jethro Gibbs?" he asked with a feeling of sorrow in his tone of voice and small demeanor.
"Hospital for where Loreile is waiting. She doesn't know anything of yet about your adopted parents." Gibbs said to his young friend.
Finding a parking spot near the elevator. He had been expecting some type of trouble from the very same blue SUV to stop them from going upstairs into the elevator.
Reaching the tenth floor for where Shannon was located for ICU and the waiting room with Loreile resting with her eyes closed.
Gibbs and Phineas arrived. But from the looks on their expression. she had the feeling that something was wrong. But with Phineas, he was a sharp boy knowing a great deal.
"Phineas will you please sit and rest here. While I talk with Loreile inside the hallway." he will say with Gibbs grabbing his wife.
MOVING OUT INTO THE CORRIDOR
"What's going on Jethro?" she senses the trouble from him.
"Both Phineas adopted parents are dead due to being shot while someone had turned on the gas in the kitchen. Lt. Jenson tells me that there might be more to their deaths than meet the eye Loreile. And we need to protect Phineas. Plus when I was coming here to the hospital I had to avoid a tail. I have no idea who or what is going on? So we need to be careful with our movements Loreile."
"Poor Phineas to be without parents again?" she commented.
"I know. We can't let Phineas that they were shot. Understand?" he said with a tone that was scaring her.
"I understand Jethro. Let's head back before he starts to wonder too much. Maybe I should take him downstairs for something to eat." she said.
"Good idea Loreile and please get me something as well?" he smirked with her heading inside to get Phineas watching TV.
He watches his wife and Phineas heading for the elevator. He was going to wait until they get back to see Shannon. However, he needed to talk with Director Vance about the blue SUV that was tailing him.
Director Leon Vance had been sitting up in bed reading files that he had brought home. His cell-phone had been going off having to be Special Agent Gibbs. He grumbled wondering what was going on now?
"Are you sure Gibbs about the tail?" he was now fully alert for when Gibbs told him about Phineas, his adopted parents, and the tail.
"I am sure Leon. I know this is serious right now. But I don't wish to sound off knowing that maybe the Cartel had found out about Shannon and Kelly? But what I don't know is how and why killing Phineas adopted parents in the first place?"
"Do you want me to contact your friend Tobias and have the F.B.I. quietly begin an investigation?" Vance said to his long-time friend and Supervisory agent.
"Go ahead since I have no idea on whether my house has been bugged since it's been a while that I have swept the house for any electronic bugs.
