Chapter 122

Although they were both super powered people, Jessica and Luke still required medical attention after the beatings they just took. Their doctors were Ben Wilkinson and David Hayward. After they were treated these two doctors began talking.

David: Did you ever imagine that we'd be treating actual super heroes?
Ben: Actually yes. In my world, I lived in Sunnydale, we had our own Hellmouth. It was a gateway between different worlds. We also had our share of vampire slayers, I never treated Buffy, but I helped treat her mother for awhile.
David: You sound like a good guy, practically treating heroes in a war zone. I on the other hand, did some fairly bad things in my world.
Ben: DId you ever help a hell god try to destroy the world?
David: No.
Ben: Then I'd say I have you beat. Glorificus was one of three dieties to rule over a hell dimension, she tried to overthrow the other two. When she was defeated, she was condemned to live and eventually die in the body of a newborn child, created specifically as her prison.
David: I'm guessing that would be you?
Ben: Yeah, we were fighting for control of the body my whole life. I tried to become a doctor, help save lives, but I also knew what she was planning.
David: What was that?
Ben: To return to her own world, but opening the barrier would break down the barriers of all worlds, destroy countless lives. Glory didn't care, and I just wanted to live. Then, the night of the final battle, myself and Glory began to merge. Glory became more empathic, at least by her standards, and I chose to surrender, let Glory win in exchange for being allowed to live. I'd like to think it was partly because she was taking over my mind, but on some level I was evil.
David: That one thing does throw off the curve, but I did some bad things too. I drugged people, let a young woman think her child was dead, faked my own death and let my wife be tried for my murder.
Ben: I think we just put our finger on why we weren't raptured into Heaven.
David: Yeah, why my loved ones are willing to forgive me, I don't know. I'm just grateful that they're willing to give me a final chance.
Ben: I didn't exactly have many loved ones. When you can change into a hell goddess at any moment, sort of makes a relationship difficult. After Glory murdered my foster parents, I guess I was friendly with a few of her minions, that's about it.
David: I supposse all we can do is try and do better, and help those we can.
Ben: We can try.
