Welcome Yu-Gi-Oh fans, to another chapter of Momma's Medicine.

In the last chapter, Jim Morrison and his Ranger unit located a piece of the Orichalcos rock. Brett Murdock's girlfriend, Alix LeNoir, used her magic to exorcise its evil power. But, in the process, dark magic struck David. As a result, his most recent memories fell into the hands of Sheila Mathers. Jim, Brett and Carlton found information on the other Orichalcos pieces. After tying up a deteriorating David, the group was on its way.

Jim and company, found a restaurant where an Orichalcos piece is. The Army Rangers got into a fight with restaurant bouncers. The three then fought with a cook and gang members transformed in a horrific fashion. Now, as they approach the restaurant roof, what other horrors are Jim and company in for? Find out as Momma's Medicine continues.

The three U.S. Rangers climbed the stairs of the restaurant/front. The level they came to next, looked like an ordinary freezer. Jim and the others took a quick peek inside…and saw something out of a nightmare! There were human body parts of various kinds stored, all frozen. Jim and the others, on seeing this, slammed the freezer door shut. Jim felt his stomach churn in disgust. "Ugh," he groaned, his face turning green. "I don't wanna' know where those human body parts came from!"

"Whatever's happening here boss, if that stuff in that freezer is any sign, then it can't be good." Brett noted.

The three looked around the room, and noted a closed door beside the stairs that had led them here. On approaching the door, the feeling of cold evil grew much stronger. "Odds are," Carlton noted. "This way leads up to that green-colored Orichalcos stone thing."

Jim glared at Carlton. "You think so?" he retorted in a sarcastic tone.

He waved the two to the other side of the stair, as he moved to the other side of the door. Jim drew out his pistol, then waited several seconds. He pulled the door open, as he aimed his gun at whatever he expected in there. They found a short hallway that led to a stairway. "I don't like this boss," Carlton warned.

"Agreed," Brett added. "It's too quiet, I have a bad feeling about this."

The three crept towards the stairs, their guns at the ready. They got the fright of their lives when they heard a snake-like voice call, "Welcome little apes. Come up to the roof, and die!"

The three, having no choice, climbed the darkened staircase. Feeling around, Jim felt his hand touch a handle. He turned it, and found the trap door opened upwards. The three Rangers scrambled through it.

Before them stood a piece of the Orichalcos stone. Guarding it, was what was once a human. But now, it was a snake-like creature. It was hard to tell whether the thing was male or female. It had a scaly chest, grey in color. The creature's back and shoulders were dirt brown. Two serpentine green eyes stared at them with a malevolent intelligence. Instead of feet, the creature had a long sinuous tail that weaved like a snake. The only true sign of any humanity, were the two muscular arms with long clawed hands. One of the hands held a strange looking staff with a skull head on top. What was more frightening, were the two glowing Orichalcos stones in the eye sockets.

"You are one ugly…" Jim began.

The humanoid creature let out a hiss, before it aimed the staff at them. "Look out," Jim yelped.

The men dove out of the way as green energy blasted where they'd been standing. The three men aimed their pistols and fired. The snake-creature waved its staff. A seal of Orichalcos encompassed it. The bullets bounced off the energy field from the seal. The creature cackled in derision. "The Seal of Orichalcos protectsss me," It proclaimed. "You may have destroyed one of the stone pieces. But there'ss irony here. If you don't ssssstop me, New Orleaanssssss and Baton Rouge get ssssacrificed for the Goddess. If you do ssstop me, then Mr. Cardigan payssss the price!"

"You sick bastards," Jim snapped. "You and your boss lady have no idea of the dark power you're messing with! You've tapped into something that was better off destroyed!"

The snake creature laughed again. "Jusssst like someone of your kind to sssay that! The Orichalcos gives me power, more power than I've ever known! And with it, I will help the Goddess purify thisss world. All brothassss and sistassss will embrace the Orichalcos and become like me!"

Carlton's face paled. "Me, become like you? Aw hey-ll no!" He squawked in horror.

The snake creature aimed the staff at them. The rangers fired their pistols, but the bullets continued to bounce off. The creature fired at them, and they had to dive out of the way. The three continued to struggle, as they dodged the blasts of the staff. Jim realized they couldn't keep this up much longer. At one point, he fired his gun at the creature. The bullet bounced off the field, and struck the Orichalcos stone! The barrier blinked out for a moment. Jim noticed this, and fired at the stone. Again…the barrier blinked out for a moment. This time Brett and Carlton saw, and fired their own guns at it. The humanoid snake let out a scream of pain, as bullets blasted the stone and actually did damage.

Jim used the moment to race over to the creature. With a swift and mighty kick, He knocked the staff out of the creature's hand. The snake hit him with a back fist, that sent him flying backwards to crash to the floor. White light danced before the ranger's eyes, as his body screamed in pain.

His military training made him get to his feet, and regain his senses. He saw the staff was a short distance from him, and the snake man was struggling towards it. Jim dashed at the staff, and grabbed it as the snake man was about to reach it. He danced back with it in hand. Then he heard the dark whispers in his mind. The voices were goading him and tempting him to use the power of the remade Orichalcos. They told him he could use it to save David, that he could use it to bring order to the world. But the dark power of the remade Orichalcos got an unpleasant surprise. "Yeah right," Jim spat in derision. "Who do you think you're fooling?"

Jim raised the staff over his head, and slammed it against the ground with all his might. Again, and again, he slammed it against the floor. Finally, he broke the Orichalcos stones in the staff. The snake creature, unable to do anything, let out one final pained scream. Then it disappeared in a flash of light. Jim fell to his knees; his breathing was heavy from the strain of what he'd gone through. Carlton and Brett also fell to their knees. "Damn sarge," Brett said as he caught his breath. "That was one hellish fight!"

"No kidding!" The Sergeant responded.

The three got to their feet. "We'd better get Alix up here and take care of that Orichalcos rock, before the police arrive." Jim thought out loud.

Brett pulled out his cell phone and dialed up Alix. A few minutes later, the detective clambered on to the roof. She looked at the Orichalcos stone with nothing but disgust. "Ugh, everything about dis' thing reeks of bad juju!" she stated.

"And if we leave this thing as is, it'll get used in some kind of ceremony." Jim stated. " One to sacrifice the people of Baton Rouge and New Orleans for the ascension of what they call the Goddess."

Alix's face furrowed, "I don't know what dis' whole ascension thing is all about. But I don't like da' sound of it! Someone may be tryin' to disrupt da' universal order of things. That would have some bad consequences, I guarantee."

"Sad thing is, if we do destroy this thing, David will suffer." Brett growled.

Jim sighed, and put his head in his hands. This was the kind of hard decision that Jim had faced in Afghanistan, but never relished. If he didn't act now, this Orichalcos stone would get used in some kind of dark ritual. But if he did act, David would pay. Jim slammed a fist against the floor. "Damn it, I hate this! But the truth of matters is, as much as I care about my cousin, there are more important things at stake here. There's two cities in Louisiana that are on the line here."

Jim got a defeated look in his eye. "I swear David, I'll find a way to save you," he reiterated. "But in the meantime, I must do this. Even though I know it plays right into what Sheila Mathers wants."

"Alix," The Army sergeant told the female detective. "Take that hell-spawned piece of rock out! Do it as fast as you can, before I change my mind!"

Alix nodded, and went to prepare the ritual spell of cleansing. "I'll go keep an eye on David, got your back covered Sarge." Brett told Jim in a reassuring tone.

The Louisiana native headed down the trap door. "I got your back covered also," Carlton added. " You're my superior, and you're still my buddy."

"I appreciate the loyalty of you both." Jim responded.

The two men turned and watched as Alix made the circle of strange powder, and drew runes in it. The substance began to glow with mystic energy. Alix sat down cross-legged. "Now you unholy piece of a past best forgotten," she stated in grim determination. "Time to remove you from dis' Earth, as you should've been long ago!"

Jim watched Alix close her eyes, and begin to chant under her breath. The Orichalcos rock glowed with powerful, and malevolent, energy. After several moments, the stone burst into a flash of light. A beam shot at Jim and Carlton, who ducked out of the way. The beam shot off the roof, and they heard the muffled scream of David. Jim winced in heartfelt agony. After several moments, the rock vanished, leaving behind nothing but ash. Alix sighed in relief as she got to her feet. "The Orichalcos stone's destroyed, but at such a cost."

The three headed downstairs, and out of the restaurant. They saw David trembling, tears in his eyes. They also were cloudy and on fire with madness. It was clear from his pale trembling complexion, that he no longer had much in the way of strength. Jim grimaced and felt the tears coming to his eyes. How much he ached to track down Sheila Mathers and teach her a lesson in messing with his family. He wanted to rip her lungs out, and shove them down her throat! But the ranger in him told him he had a job to do. Jim took a long breath and looked at Brett who shook his head. "He's gettin' worse sarge." The Southerner confirmed.

Alix pulled from a pocket; a small doll made of a light blue material. She walked up to the deteriorating man. "David," she coaxed. "If you can hear me, I want you to hold on tight to dis'."

Somehow through the throes of madness, David retained enough sense to grab the doll and hold it. A strange swirling symbol on the little doll began to glow. The rangers and Alix got into the hummer. They pulled out of where they'd parked, and high-tailed it out of there. "Where to next?" Carlton asked.

Jim pulled himself away from his concern for David, and looked at the map. "According to this," Jim explained. "Our next destination is one of the riverboat docks districts of New Orleans."

Brett looked at the area and his face paled. "Wait a second there man! I recall seeing somethin' on the news. Yeah, I recall there's a big-time riverboat that's about to make its maiden voyage. A big gambling boat, slots, blackjack, and some major dining. This ship caters to the big wigs who make big time bucks. As I recall, some major captains of industry and business are going to be on that ship."

Alix raised a hand. "Wait a second," She added in. "I also remember hearin' something. One of da' companies involved was one dat' got investigated after the end of the Orichalcos crisis. Braxton ship makers got looked into, due to its connection to Paradias."

"If Sheila Mathers has access to some of Paradias' assets," David's cousin surmised. "Then she has access to Braxton ship makers. So, that would mean…"

"Oh hell!" everyone, save David, stated.

Carlton stepped on the gas. "We gotta' get on board that riverboat! Knowing Sheila Mathers, she'll want to use those big wigs in some kind of sick sacrifice!" He realized.

"Reload your pistols boys," Jim commanded. "Chances are, we'll be seeing more action."

Brett sighed in consternation. "Swell, more supernatural crap," he complained. "Damn it Jim, I'm a soldier, not a Ghostbuster!"

"My man, something tells me it ain't ghosts we're going to be facing at that riverboat." Carlton responded.

"I wish I could lend a hand," Alix added. "But someone needs to stay and keep an eye on David."

"In his current state," his cousin observed. "He'd be vulnerable if Mathers' goons try something."

The vehicle drove down the lively streets of New Orleans, Jim feeling like time was running out.

A half hour later, the hummer pulled up to a two-level riverboat called, Miss Diamond. As soon as they got out of the hummer, they felt the surge of cold. This was where the third piece of the Orichalcos stone was. The three clicked their guns into readiness, and approached the ship.

The passenger docks were quiet here, which was odd. With this ship being so exclusive, there should've been more security. And where were the people wanting to have a look at the magnificent riverboat? On cue, the ramp for the ship dropped. From out of one of the ship's doors, a large group of semi- transformed gang members emerged. They snarled and hissed in anticipation of their supposed prey, as they rushed the ramp. From the ship's speakers, a voice spoke. "Welcome to the real maiden voyage of Miss Diamond, Rangers!"

Jim and his men opened fire on the creatures descending on them. Each bullet smashed the rock piece pendant the creatures wore. They screamed in horror, then changed to figures of light, before vanishing.

The rangers stormed the ship, and pulled open a door. The three found themselves in a hallway. It led to a room with several slot machines, a wheel of fortune, and many card tables. All in all, the boat had the elegance and feel of a ship from right out of the 1800's, except for the digital slot machines. Classical music played over the loudspeakers, adding to the eerie sense. The three rangers entered; weapons drawn. They looked around the carpeted room, and didn't notice anything odd or unusual. Until they smelled the reek of human corpses. Carlton grimaced in disgust. "Ugh, now I know we're in the right place, I remember that smell from the restaurant!"

The three noticed a stairway in the middle of the room. The rangers approached it, before a figure appeared at the top. The gang member slung a couple meat cleavers at them.

The rangers dropped down to avoid the weapons, then leapt to their feet. More snake people descended the stairs, claws at the ready. Their Orichalcos stones glowed with evil power. The room erupted with gun fire, and snake people getting destroyed. Once dealt with, the Rangers raced up the stairs. A voice over the loudspeaker announced, "Attention pleasssse, attention pleasssse! This issss your captain ssspeaking. Will Jim Morrison, Brett Murdock, and Carlton Brannigan report to the bridge. Your souls are overdue for sssacrifice to the Goddess."

"There's a challenge if ever I heard one sarge." Brett quipped.

The three looked around the dining deck of the riverboat. Carlton asked, "But where is the Orichalcos stone?"

A large intricate designed stone in the middle of the room transformed. It became the very object they had been looking for. The men opened fire, but had to dive out of the way of bullets ricocheting off the shield around the unholy object. The voice of the Captain explained, "If you want the blessed stone, you'll have to get through me humansssss."

"Would it be too much to ask for this to be simpler, geez," Jim complained.

The three looked around, and spotted a door that led out to a deck area. They headed out, and made their way around to a set of wood stairs. The three climbed the steps, and came face to face with the ship's captain. But his face was a twisted serpentine humanoid. His hands had long claws on the ends. And he held a nasty looking baton that glowed green. "You'll find my weapon is much harder to dessstroy, and quite deadly."

Carlton and Brett rushed the serpentine captain. But the creature caught Carlton with a jump side kick and Brett with a hard right. Jim's mouth gaped, "Wait a second, those are David's moves," he yelped.

The creature cackled. "Isn't it wonderful! The Goddess impending has sssseen fit to share some of the knowledge she gleaned with ussss. We can expect your moves, and can match up againsssst you in any way!"

Brett and Carlton leapt to their feet. "That's it, it's on now!" the black Army ranger snapped.

"You're playin' stupid now son!" Brett added.

The two men pulled out their flint knives as they put their guns away. Jim did the same as his men. "Give up snake face," he warned. "There's three Rangers and only one of you!"

"Oh, but one of usss isss all it will take to kill you!" The creature retorted. "You're in way over your head

Jim Morisssson. You and Carlton couldn't ssssave your fellows from those Sssoulreapers years ago. What makes you think thisss time will be any different?"

Jim's mind exploded with rage! No one had dared speak of that horrible incident with the Soulreapers and his middle school. That event had left Jim and Carlton in need of therapy. The Snake man looked at Brett. "And you Brett Murdock," It added. "I can read your thoughts asss well."

That took Jim by surprise. "What, how?"

The creature laughed. "Another gift from the soon-to-be ascending Goddess. Thanks to the powers she has retaken from Cardigan, we have the power to read your minds. I know, Murdock, that you couldn't ssssave your sister from that gator years ago. You'll not win now, so jusssst give up!"

Jim felt something invade his mind. He, Carlton, and Brett let out screams of pain as a powerful force pulled something from his mind. Images of classmates and friends appeared. All had their skulls opened as if they were cans. From their empty eye sockets, green light glowed. All at once, they called out in pain, "You killed us," "You let them take my brain stem," and "Why did you abandon me?"

The crying, the moaning, and the calls got louder and louder. Jim put his hands to his ears as he sank to one knee. "No, no it wasn't my fault, it wasn't!"

The chants of "You killed us, it's your fault," grew louder and louder in his head, as Jim tried to block the noise out. The voice of the serpent man called, "There's no sense in resisting Jim Morrisssson. You are jussst a scared mortal, incapable of doing anything. Why not jusssst take that knife and kill yourssself, it would be sssso easy."

Jim shivered and grimaced as he screamed in mental anguish. "There's no sssense in going on." The snake man voice coaxed in his mind.

Jim felt himself get on his knees. "Yes," Jim moaned in a voice that wasn't his own, even as the rest of him sought to resist. The force in his mind made him say, "It would be easier, I want to end it all."

"That's right, jusssst bring those flint knives to your chests and…"

The force controlling Jim released its grip, as he heard the snake man scream in agony. The chiding voice Of Alix LeNoir boomed, "Ya'll stop right dere' Sheila Mathers! Using David's power for unethical purposes? You're a disgrace to my skin color girl! Having your goons do your dirty work is even lower!"

Jim came to, finding himself on the deck of the ship. He noted Brett and Carlton sitting on their knees recovering. They looked like they'd almost used their flint knives on themselves. To his right, was an angry looking Alix LeNoir. She glowed with a bright blue aura, and held a staff in one hand. The staff had some kind of bird feathers on it. What surprised, and scared Jim, was the fact that Alix's eyes glowed as bright blue as her aura. Jim felt the power that emanated from the Cajun black woman. Now he understood why Angeliene LeNoir had chosen her to be a priestess. She had power that put even her grandmother to shame. But she actually hid it, because she didn't like to use it, unless necessary. "Are you okay Brett?" She asked.

Brett got to his feet and shook his head. "You picked a hell of a time to come to the rescue babe, what happened?"

Alix glared at the angered snake man. "Dis clown tried to use bad memories, illusions, and mind magic to make you kill yourselves. You best get out of here, leave dis' scum to a voodoo priestess!"

Jim got to his feet and yelled, "You heard the lady, let's clear the hell out!"

The three took off as the snake man captain fired a beam of green energy from his baton. Alix placed her stave in front of her chest, and the wand absorbed the energy. The three scrambled down the stairs. "I can read your mind too Alix Lenoir, I know what scares you!" The snake man sneered.

An aura of green mist descended over Alix Lenoir's head. But, with the wave of her wand, the mist dispelled. Alix smirked like a cat. "You're jokin' right? Your so-called Goddess is nothin' more than a rank amateur in magic. I've trained in it since I was knee high, I know a mental attack when I see it. You'll find infiltratin' my mind with dat' magic will be impossible."

The snake thing raised the baton and swung down at her head. Alix lifted her staff and caught the blow with it. The snake man snarled and hissed at her as he tried to push his way towards her head. Jim and the others noticed Alix wasn't even working up a sweat. Carlton observed, "Brett, I knew your girlfriend was good, but I didn't think she was a badass!"

Brett chuckled and stated, "Trust me on this. When my Alix gets pissed off, God help the one who tries to hurt those she loves!"

The snake man tried to kick her, but Alix slid out of the way of the attack. Meanwhile she continued to hold the captain's baton in place. "I know Mathers has scrying power thanks to the Orichalcos," she explained. "I know she can hear me as well as you. So, let me say, you ain't as strong with magic as you think. Allow me to prove how!"

Jim and the others got the surprise of their lives. Alix pushed the baton away, and in the same motion brought the staff in an upwards swing. The blow to the snake captain sent him flying high into the air. "Your little baton, captain, had your finger prints all over it." Alix stated. "My staff here had time to attune to your life force frequency. Now I'll show how a voodoo priestess handles dis'."

Alix aimed the stave at the Snake Captain, and chanted in a strange language. A blast of blue light shot from the staff and hit the snake man. The creature let out a scream of pain as it got struck. The baton broke into a million pieces. The creature turned into a figure of sickly green light, and vanished. The black woman's aura faded, as she lowered the staff. she twirled it around a few times, then put it away as she stated for emphasis. "And dat's how we take care of supernatural business down in da' bayou!"

"Okay, note to self," Jim chimed in. "Never get on your bad side Miss LeNoir."

"Damn babe," Brett added. "That was awesome!"

The Cajun black woman smiled in appreciation. "I sensed what was happening. No way in Hell I'd let my man and his squad mates get beat by a cheater."

"And now comes the part I've been dreading." Jim added in fear and resignation

"I know dis is hard." Alix explained. "But we can still save David."

"We can, how?" Jim asked, sounding desperate.

"As much as it grieves me to say so," Alix told them. "To stop Sheila Mathers, she has to die! No choice in the matter, dat's the only way to break dis' damn curse she put your cousin under. The only problem is, if she's so close to dat' Orichalcos stone, then chances are brute force won't hurt her."

An idea came to Jim. "Wait a second," he chimed. "Brute force might not be able to harm her, but something else can!"

"You got an idea?" Carlton asked his sergeant.

He nodded. "Now I'm glad I decided to bring my duel disk and deck with me."

"What the hell good is that gonna' do sarge, you gonna' duel her?" Brett asked, sounding rather dubious.

Jim nodded in confirmation. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm going to do! It worked for Yugi Moto when he defeated King Dartz and the Great Leviathan, it'll work for me."

"I sure as Hell hope you got Yugi's luck or Seto Kaiba's skill," Brett added, still not sounding all that convinced. "Cause against that woman, you're gonna' need it."

"All I need to do, is what I do best." Jim stated with a new sense of purpose. "For the fate of the world, the Terminator is coming out to play!"

Alix thought for a moment. "Judgin' by how tricky King Dartz could be, duelin' is the only way. Be aware that she'll have David's knowledge."

"Miss Lenoir, I not only realize that, I'm counting on it!" Jim stated, a predatory smile flashing on to his face.

The four headed back into the dining/gambling area of the riverboat. "I can't believe we managed to keep the ship intact throughout this fight." Carlton commented.

"Don't jinx it man, we're not out of the woods yet." Brett chided.

Alix made the circle of powder around the Orichalcos stone, and drew runes in the powder. She then sat down in front of it, and chanted. A thought crossed Jim's mind. "Wait a minute, David, who's guarding David?

"Aw crap!" Brett and Carlton snapped as they and Jim ran off the boat.

They arrived at the Hummer in time to see two snake creatures had torn one of the doors off, and pulled David out. There was a burst of light from the ship. David let out a scream, as he glowed with the green Orichalcos aura. The snake men cackled. "Fools," one of them taunted. "The Goddess hassss more than enough of what she needs."

Another used a clawed hand to slash one of the tires of the Hummer. The creatures disappeared in a burst of green light, before the men could rush them. "David, no," Jim yelled in anguish.

A few minutes later, Alix rushed out, and her face paled at what she saw. "Damn it,' she swore. "That witch tricked me! She knew if Brett was in danger, I'd come. She anticipated what I was going to do!"

"That woman has gotten more of David's ability than we first thought." Brett observed.

"Mathers," David's cousin roared. "You crossed a dangerous line! Come out and face me you coward!"

A voice that sounded somewhat like Sheila Mathers let out a derisive cackle as if from a great distance. Feeling the surge of cold, the four turned around to see Sheila Mathers. Only it wasn't quite her anymore! It looked more like the snake creature that Jim, Carlton, and Brett had seen at the top of the restaurant. But she had a hood like that of a cobra behind her head. The female creature responded, "Sheila Mathers is dead, thanks to you! It's quite liberating, all this knowledge, all this power! It's unlike anything I ever knew! I am the Cobra Queen, the soon-to-be Goddess of this world. I must thank you voodoo priestess. By destroying the Orichalcos stones, I've absorbed their power. I've also taken David Cardigan's power and knowledge. Soon I will have all that I need for my ascension to take place!"

Jim stepped forward. "Oh, then why did you take David?" He snapped in a tone of challenge.

"Because this way I know you won't interfere with my plans if I have him." She responded in a smug fashion.

"Wow Mathers, you're pathetic," Jim quipped.

"You will show the new goddess of this world proper respect!" The Cobra woman snapped.

Jim instead flashed her the one-fingered salute. "Forget it, I'll keep chasing you no matter how long it takes! And I know you need my cousin alive to finish whatever you have in mind with this curse! Well, I'm tired of having to follow you. So, what do you say we settle this the old-fashioned way!"

Jim then went to the Hummer. It didn't take him long to find his pack with his duel disk and deck. He stepped back in front of the group. "Okay Cobra Queen, if you're so invincible, why don't you test that, by facing me in a duel!"

The Cobra Queen that had been Sheila Mathers cackled in derision. "You think you can defeat me? With David Cardigan's skill, given by the Orichalcos, I'll wipe the floor with you!"

"What's the matter Mathers, you scared? Does one U.S. Army Ranger frighten you?"

The Cobra Queen screamed, "I ain't scared of nobody no more! Not when I'm so close to gettin' what I deserve!"

"Then prove you're worthy of your vaunted godhood." Jim taunted. "Earn it by facing me in a duel, for the life of my cousin…and my own soul!"

Carlton and Brett yelped in surprise, "Sarge, are you nuts?"

"it's the only way guys," He explained. "This is the only thing I'm betting that will attract her to this duel."

"And your guess is right on, Sergeant Jim Morrison! Your skills and power would make my followers into unstoppable killing machines! Your soul and your knowledge would be quite delicious. I accept your challenge, white man!"

A portal of green energy appeared to the group's right. "Please enter, and come to my abode in Baton Rouge. And your friends may come…just so they can watch as I destroy you!"

The Cobra Queen let out a hissing laugh as she vanished. "Sarge," Brett yelped. "Have you dun' blown a gasket?!"

"He's right, that's whacked, you know ya'll can't trust that thing!" Carlton added.

Jim gave his men a reassuring smile. "Oh, but who says I do? That's why I brought you along. But before we go, Alix can you cook up a quick spell for us. Something to shield our minds."

Alix nodded. "I can," she confirmed. And then a devilish smile crept onto her lips. "Oh, and gentleman, you should be aware dat' we have a hidden ally helpin' us."

Jim raised an eyebrow. He wasn't sure, but he had a suspicion about who Alix was talking about. Brett and Carlton looked clueless. "A hidden ally?" The two asked.

Alix smiled and caressed Brett's right cheek. "Don't you or Carlton worry about a thing lover." she assured. "Thanks to grandmere, Sheila Mathers is in for a very nasty surprise!"

Jim flashed his own smirk before he added, "Something tells me I'm going to like this surprise."

Well, things are looking pretty bad right now. Sheila Mathers, or rather the Cobra Queen, and her minions have got a weakened David. And chances are, she's going to have a few nasty tricks for Jim and the others. But what is this little surprise that Alix LeNoir mentioned? Will this mind ward Be any help? And what will Jim do when he reaches the Cobra Queen? Can the curse on David even be undone as Alix has said? For the answers to these questions, come back for the final chapter of Momma's medicine. Until next time, read and review.
