End of the night

The three of them fought together for a minute back to back. Shirou's twin swords didn't have the reach to counter-attack when the scythe swung down but Sakura was able to lengthen her spear to jab at the Abyssal's chest. Rin's attempts to cast with her depleted essence pool were interrupted by a whip that snapped at her but Shirou was able to protect her from the worst of the attacks. Sakura couldn't do significant damage to the whip wielder as her spear kept getting knocked aside, Rin however was able to sneak in charm-enhanced martial art strikes.

They all glowed, their Animas had expanded to full size. Shirou's phantom swords dotted the surrounding area and he would occasionally reach for one of them, the sword suddenly appearing in his hand in an instant. Behind Rin could be seen an aurora like the night time sky and a black cat that was her other true form. Sakura was surrounded by a bonfire of green fire that hurt to look at, occasionally a demon like a mermaid could be seen swimming in the flames. Together the three shone light into the dark night creating a light that could be seen for miles around.

Eventually they split off, Rin and Sakura fought the whip wielding Abyssal while Shirou fought the scythe wielder alone.

Weapons flashed into Shirou's hands as he fought, each one responding easily. These were not merely the weapons he had forged as a part of the army but the ones that he had forged in his dreams over the last few days; orichalcum weapons designed just to kill Abyssals. He had seen a challenge and decided to create a weapon suited for the task. As the Abyssal swung his scythe down, Shirou drew his most recently forged weapon, A sword forged last time he slept.

It required a simple chant to call forth, one other than Shirou's typical phrase.

"Holy Sword, drawing."

The sword was uniquely suited for him in a way, it had responded well to being reforged in the metal of the sun. The sword was once an Anti-army noble phantasm of the highest quality, one that Shirou would have feared to use in the past as he would have never been able to wield it's power in full. Now though it was reforged in golden metal and he knew he could take it.

The Abyssal's scythe was parried by Shirou simply holding the sword to the side. With his banner on full display it's power was at it's peak.

Shirou struck the Abyssal hard. The sword cutting into his armour and throwing him back. Shirou didn't miss his chance and threw his sword into the air where it twirled and collected light from his anima.

"This sword turns my power into burning flames. The heat of these flames shall cleanse the impure."

He had changed the chant as he bound it to his anima, the original sword was designed to draw from the sun but this version could draw from any form of sunlight. As if to prove his point he saw it start to absorb some of Sakura's green flames from her fight. Her power was born from a corruption of the Solar exaltation so it was natural that it was in a way "sunlight." The abyssals weren't giving any power to it but that made sense in a way, they were the sun's opposite.

The sword fell to earth and Shirou caught it. Above him the sunlight had become a small sun whose light blinded the scythe wielding abyssal.

Shirou charged forward, the light streaming behind him. With a mighty swing he cut down onto the Abyssal as he called out his weapon's new name.

"Golden Galatine!"

The Abyssal tried to raise his weapon but the sunlight struck through regardless. The Abyssal burned and was vaporised.

Shirou looked back to see how the girls were doing.

Rin was out of essence. Not entirely but she didn't have enough for any form of sorcery anymore. She had to strike out with her arms and legs alone, she wasn't even strengthening her limbs to add force to the strikes as she didn't want to waste the essence. Then again she didn't need to deal the final blow, she was just a distraction to give Sakura an opening.

Each time the Abyssal's eyes left Sakura to look at Rin, Sakura was able to reposition. Sakura would get behind and shoot some arrows from her transformed bow. Each shot found it's mark in some sensitive spot that left the Abyssal bleeding and weakened. Sakura seemed to be able to launch stronger attacks if she was fighting dirty so the arrows struck with more force than normal arrows would have.

They kept it up even as Shirou turned his enemy to ash. When the whip wielder saw that she panicked and turned to run. Sakura grinned and shot her leg, pinning the Abyssal to prevent an escape.

Then Sakura and Rin stepped forward together and gave her pain to make up for all the damage she had done to their loved one. Together the two sisters reduced the Abyssal to a groaning body.

Finally, Shirou stepped forward. He walked over to the mewling corpse. He didn't say anything, he just summoned a copy of the other Abyssal's scythe. The Abyssal tried to get up and flee but Shirou swung the weapon low.

The scythe is a weapon of death. The crops may grow but they eventually need to be reaped. Humans may live great and long lives but eventually the reaper comes. Even in creation that holds true as the maiden that decides when it is a mortals time to end apparently wields a scythe.

The Abyssal's head fell to the ground.

Shirou, Sakura and Rin all looked at each other and embraced each other. They stayed like that for over an hour, only looking up to watch the sun rise.
