Sonic Boom prompt: (sonamy of course! 😊) sonic and amy are out on an adventure looking for an ancient artifact until it suddenly starts to storm really bad and they must find some type of shelter. After walking a while in the downpour they finally find a very small and tight cave. Sadly the storm is getting worse and that cave is their only source of shelter. 😏

Sonic and the gang split up one cloudy day in search of Sticks's rumored 'treasure' which, by the description of it, sounds like a rare artifact described in Amy's text books.
On the hunt, they try to find where Sticks 'dropped it' while escaping the 'government' (I'm thinking the 'government' is robots..). So the epic quest begins..!
Until those clouds decide the day isn't going to be so lovely for adventuring anymore…
"I-I'm f-f-freezing!" Amy rubs her hands on her shoulders, trying to stay close to the trees to get out of the downpour of rain their experiencing right now.
The team split with the mountains (Tails and Knuckles) and the below valley (Sonic and Amy), so the huge rainstorm was causing muddy flooding around them, as Sonic gave Amy his scarf to put over her head, in an attempt to keep her dry. "I hate water!" he spat out, kicking the puddles below his feet and treading on. "Hold on…" he squinted through the haze of rain, and suddenly saw a cave. "A-Amy! O-over here!" he was shivering himself, but tried not to show it.
The two approached a cave that was pretty cramped, tight and small, and really looked like it could only fit maybe one person…
"It'll h-have to do." Sonic climbed in, and held out his hand for Amy. "Come on! I'll have to-to hold you!"
Amy's eyes widened, "O-oh no, that's okay! I'll just, um, I can find somewhere else to-" she was immediately pulled in, as Sonic wrapped his arms around her and put her out in front of him, making sure that the only thing getting wet was their feet.
Amy's breathing slowed as her heart raced quickly, and took a chance to look up at Sonic.
He was resting his head on hers, and looking out at the rain, keeping a serious frown on his face.
"…Em…Thanks." she looked away and to the side, feeling a bit of warmth in how close they were, and even beaming out a smile at the turn of events!
"…I'm worried about Tails and Knuckles. Though, I'm sure they're both fine… Still, look at the winds up there." Sonic looked up, lifting his head a little from Amy's as she looked up to him, and then toward the mountains, seeing how strong the winds were blowing the trees around.
"Hmm… You're right. Tails could never fly through that… but Knuckles can dig! I'm sure they made some kind of shelter-ah! That is.. if it wasn't flooded by water…. B-but Tails is good at building so- Well, the winds could blow away a shelter, but-" before she could continue this downhill spiral the cave's mouth was suddenly drapped over with some mud, leaving their feet dirty. "Ah!"
"Ick!" Sonic tried to move his feet but only managed to kick some mud out from the entrance, it ended up splattering all over Amy though.
"Oh!…Eh-heh… sorry." Sonic sweat dropped, feeling bad.
"Pfft!" she spat, and tried to use her hand to wipe the dirt off.
"Oh? Hahahaha!" Sonic started laughing, as she reached out to the muddy water falling down, got some clumps of mud, and sprayed them in his face.
"Ha!" she countered.
He blinked a moment and then glared at her.
A few moments later, they were outside laughing, throwing mud-pies at each other and getting really dirty. Sonic charged into her and they ended up on the muddy ground, before he got off and started laughing some more.
Sonic sneezed, as Amy felt bad about leaving the cave. "Uh-oh. We'd better get back in the cave, teehee." she giggled, and tried to help him up.
"Y-yeah, might be best-! Offph!" he slipped again, landing on her as she had offered her hand and slipped under him.
"S-Sonic!"
"I-I can't get a good footing-!"
"AHH!" They kept slipping over the other and couldn't keep their feet on the ground.
"We'll have to crawl for it!"
"What!?"
"Swim girl, swim!" he started trying to 'swim' through the mud, and ended up getting to the cave with her, but they both filthy and freezing now.
However… somehow… they were both able to laugh about it.
Just being around the other… made the bad stuff not seem… so bad.
