A/N: Please read and review!

I was at the Tower with the other Avengers. For some reason, Tony thought would've been a great idea to have an emergency meeting for whatever reason. And, of course, it had to be in the middle of the night. Everyone but Bruce and Tony looked tired and annoyed at being called there at that moment.

"Couldn't this have waited?" Clint asked Tony. "I hate being pulled away from something."

"Trust me," Tony said without even missing a beat. "You have a ready made excuse to leave without worrying too much."

"Not what I meant," Clint muttered under his breath.

Clint scowled a little, and Natasha had actually cracked up at that sort of thing. No one really knew the truth because everyone had assumed he was the womanizing type.

"He couldn't wait to talk to you," Bruce said, giving Tony a look before he shook his head at him. "Even after I suggested that it would be a good idea to put it off till tomorrow."

It was then when the two of them broke off into the explanation of how we could use the Tower as our base of operations. Even living there if we happened to be in the city.

"Is it just me," I quietly said to Steve. "Or, are they finishing each other's sentences like an old married couple?"

Steve cracked a slight smirk at that, but he didn't really comment on that sort of thing.

"With S.H.I.E.L.D. gone," Tony said. "It's up to us to keep the world safe."

"And, will you be the one to lead us?" Thor asked, and he didn't look too pleased by that.

"We thought that wouldn't be a good idea," Bruce said.

"They even talk in the plural," I whispered. "Like a couple would."

Another smirk from Steve.

"Cap should be the one to lead us," Tony had said to the whole group. "My father believed he did a pretty good job during the war, and he could handle himself during New York."

That was something the whole group could agree with. Tony was pretty much funding the Avengers, but it was STeve who was going to lead us all.

Steve was reading up on some of the heroes helping out in New York. Tony had compiled them all together as a way to allow for more future/potential recruits. Some were very well known like Daredevil and a very small fraction of the Heroes for Hire (removing their original business model entirely), and mostly my cousin because of me. There were those who were more elusive like Spider Man (more of a YouTube sensation) or some mysterious strong-woman who dealt the fatal on some mind controlling kind of man.

He had appeared to be more troubled about a good chunk of it, though he was not going to act on it.

"Do you ever wonder what kind of a world we created?" He asked me. "Nothing has ever been the same since New York."

"I never regret joining the fight," I told Steve. "Never. We created a world where people fight against any injustices they would see and to be able to help those in need."

"Always thought I would change it for the better," Steve said to me. He actually sounded pretty downtrodden over what he had realized at that moment.

"You did," I said to him. "It's a better world, and it gets better with each passing moment."

He gave me a look, and he started to wear a small smile as he leaned forward to lightly kiss me. Before he pulled away, he allowed our foreheads to touch.

"You always see the best in everyone and everything," he quietly said to me. "I always feel like I could be a better person when I'm around you."

That was when I pulled away from him, giving him that look of disbelief. I shook my head back at him.

"I would say the same thing to you," I said to him.

We spent the rest of the night together, and there was no care or talk of the world or current events.

Later that night when we were in bed together, Steve was holding me close to him as he had been sleeping. I was about to doze off when a bright light from my things in the closet caused me to wake up. I carefully got out of bed, so he wouldn't wake up.

I opened the metal box, and the metal obelisk was glowing which never really seemed to happen. Only during the event of Terragenensis of certain individuals. There was a legend among our people that if an obelisk was placed within one of the ancient temples and Terragenesis was performed, all of the obelisks within the earth would make those ancient symbols glow.

All of the Inhumans would know that another of their number had been changed, and that Inhuman had no knowledge of who they were or were completely alone in the world. In the past, it was believed they would be easier controlled by the very beings who had created them, the Kree, so it was important that any factions of the Inhumans should help them.

We would be no one's weapons.

Someone needed to get to that lone Inhuman before the Kree would get to them. The Kree would try to kill them as they would have been too dangerous, and they probably needed all the help that they could get.
