Chapter 142

.

Note: Liv Moore and Dolly Durkins are both from the television series "IZombie."

.

Just as Superman feared, his battle with Lobo did turna number of people against the alien refugees. There was a new woman, Dolly Durkins, on tv, talking about how humans and aliens could never coexist, that there was no such thing as improving human/alien relations. Dolly was the head of a organization, C.H.I.C.K.S. They weren't officially affiliated with the SBA, but they seemed to have similar goals. Ever since John Smith's accusations that the SBA was a front for nazies, it was much less socially acceptable to join this organization. C.H.I.C.K.S, which noone seemed certain what that stood for, was more acceptable, at least for the moment. But Dolly was rcognized by Liv Moore, who had been an activist for zombie rights in her old world. She reported what she knew to the Ambassador.

.

Liv: I for get what C.H.I.C.K.S. stands for, but it was an anti-zombie hate group. She killed her own son for being a zombie.

Ambassador: So even though she actually is now an alien refugee, she is stirring up hatred of alien refugees.

Liv: I guess it's easy to trade one hatred for another.

Ambassador: Or hard to give up hatred. Captain Kirk told me about this one alien group, black on one side, right on the other. Except they were on different sides, and their respective peoples were at war over this difference.

Liv: That sounds really stupid.

Ambassador: As oppossed to narmal racism.

Liv: Fair point.

Ambassador: Anyway, Kirk came across two of them, one was hunting the other, apparently their sides wre still at war. Kirk was willing to bring them back to their own planet, let their people decide what to do with them. It turns out their peoples had wiped each other out, their planet was desolate. Both of them escaped back to their planet to fight it out, all they had left was their hatred. Maybe they had more once, but hatred was all they had left, and they kept the war going.

Liv: That's depressing.

Ambassador: Yeah, and probably exactly what Evil wants. I also heard that Ares, several versions of Ares, keep wars going on in Hell. I supposse that someone who wants to be called a god of war, that would be paradise. Sorry to get off track, we could try to expose Dolly, but it will probably be called fake news.

Liv: So what are we going to do?

Ambassador: Our contacts in Hollywood are still trying to put out as many good images of alien refugees as possible. We can try to reduce the number of big battles in the world.

Liv: What's to stop Evil from sending more and forcing our heroes into battles in civilian areas?

Ambassador: As far as I can tell, nothing. Other than capturing villains and keeping them in cells here, but eventually we'll exceed our capacity and they will escape. I can only hope we can think of a better idea before that happens.
