[a/n]It's been given about 5 different names in the past year, do doctors just take a Scrabble set and turn over some tiles to name a disease? Anyway, pleased to say I got the vaccine. I count myself lucky that among my friends and family only one uncle [probably one of the 1st victims] died of You-Know-What. No side effects, Can I see everyone's face again?
Harry Does Different CCCDXXIX
Forget Expelliarmus
"Mudblood bitch!" snarled Rabastan LeStrange hissed as a spell hit his shoulder. He was done playing with these children "Avada Kedavra!"
Harry had just stunned a big hulking man who, at a glance, had to be related to either of Draco's bodyguards. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a flash of green. Time seemed to slow as his eyes drew a line from the Death Eater's wand to his best female friend. He flung himself at her in a flying tackle. The teens were still falling as he ordered "Stay down Hermione!"
"Damn you Potter! Steal my win!" Rabastan wound up for a second lethal spell.
Crashing to the floor did nothing to dispel Harry's heightened awareness, nor his aim. And he was tired of holding back. He lashed out with his own Killing Curse. The sound of battle was so loud, he didn't have a moment to spare before jumping back into the fray.
"STOP!" the wild looking witch screeched. She was holding the tip of her wand at the throat of a shocked Neville. She cackled gleefully "Enough children! Now let's hand over the prophecy! You'll be minus another Longbottom."
Mr. Malfoy sneered "Behave Bella. Now, Potter, why don't you just do as you're told." He strutted up to him and gloatingly extended a hand.
"Don't do it Harry!" yelled Neville as he struggled with his parents' torturer.
Everyone had frozen. The teens were intimidated by the situation, and despite their arrogant stances, the Death Eaters were afraid of failure and aware time was short.
"Avada Kedavra!" in a single rapid move, Harry smashed the prophecy globe and fired at the struggling pair. A later analyst would accuse Harry of reckless endangerment, but that would be armchair quarterbacking. His aim was dead-on accurate. Bellatrix was blasted away from the Gryffindor and she was dead before her body hit the floor.
Sirius Black, Alastor Moody, Nymphadora Tonks, and Remus Lupin arrived as the impact of that was just settling in. everyone holding a student disapparated away. Those still in the room looked at each other and relaxed. But the moment of peace was shattered by an explosion that, led by Harry, they all charged to investigate.
"You should not have come here, Tom." Said Dumbledore with an air of sadness. The two most powerful wizards of the age had their wands on each other. The wreckage in the Grand Atrium of the Ministry of Magic was mere collateral damage of the first exchange of spells.
Government functionaries, Aurors, Unspeakables and civilians coming on the scene gasped in horror "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named! You-Know-Who! He's back!" Even the denier Minister couldn't deny the evidence of his own eyes.
A column of fire lashed out from the Dark Lord's wand, to be intercepted by a flood of water from the Leader of the Light. Both poured more and more magic into their spells. Fire seeking to destroy everything it could reach in an ever widening arc. Water blocked it at every point. Steam blasted where they met.
"Avada Kedavra!" casting the Killing Curse for the third time was almost easy for Harry. He wasn't aiming near a friend, nor was it a difficult shot. Frightening everyone was the cloud of black smoke that surged out of the body and vanished through a wall.
The first one to recover his power of speech after Voldemort's body crumbled was Minister Fudge "That's Sirius Black! Aurors! Take him! Bring a Dementor!"
"Expecto Patronum!" ten glowing white animals leapt from ten wands, surrounding the group that had invaded the Department of Mysteries.
Dumbledore smiled and put his wand away. He spoke quietly but somehow the entire, now quite large, group of witnesses heard him "What I think we have, Cornelius, is referred to in the Colonies as a Mexican Standoff. Perhaps I might offer a compromise? Ahh …Amelia… I feel confident if you were to promise Sirius Black a full trial, we could prevail on Harry and his young friends to stand down."
THE QUIBBLER

VOLDEMORT HAS BEEN DEFEATED!
Yes you read that correctly. And that word is precisely chosen. He was not killed in 1981, nor was he killed late last night. The so-called Death Eaters invaded the Department of Mysteries to obtain a prophecy for their master. Interesting word there, MASTER, and a fair description as Voldemort does not have friends, he has slaves. But I digress.
Harry Potter, under the impression his Godfather was captured and being tortured, led five of his friends …specifically Ron and Ginevra Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Hermione Granger, and our own special reporter… to rescue him. This was a lie. It was a trap to lure Harry into obtaining the aforementioned prophecy for Voldemort. The evil dirtbag sent his top minions to subdue a group of …to be blunt… children. They failed. Half a dozen 4th and 5th Years against ten, possibly twelve, supposedly well-trained adults.
Three are dead. One as a result of an avalanche of prophecy globes. Name unknown as of this writing. Rabastan and Bellatrix LeStange, both escapees from Azkaban, were killed by Harry Potter himself. Yes, he used the Killing Curse. Which begs the question Is Harry a murderer? Absolutely NOT! A killer, yes. But in defense of his friends and family. Mr. LeStrange had fired the same curse at Hermione Granger. Also hit with the curse, by Harry, was the self-proclaimed dark lord himself. Witnesses, including myself, saw a spirit leave the body. This is why I use the word defeated and not killed.
As was typical of the cowards in the last war, they all wore robes and masks to hide their identities. But two other faces were exposed during the fighting. Antonin Dolohov, responsible for the murders of the Prewett brothers, and another escapee from Azkaban and; with this we invite and welcome a lawsuit, Lucius Malfoy.
Taken into protective custody after the battle, was the man who …two years ago… was the source of terror. Also known as Stubby Boardman of the Weird Sisters. Hmmm, odd that, a wizard being a sister? Be that as it may, Sirius Black was never the danger to the world his non-conviction made him to be. See tomorrow's issue for details.
