A/N: Suggested/requested by mashmaiden and inspired by a discussion started by chicgeekgirl89 about whether or not Deeks is as much of a play boy as he pretends to be, particularly early on in the series.

Set in the first few seasons.

"So, how long have you been a Detective," Tina Anderson asked, eyeing Deeks' biceps as he pulled up a picture to show her on his phone. Kensi bit back a smile. The petite brunette had been flirting with him pretty much since she opened the door to her apartment and Deeks apparently was completely oblivious.

"A while," Deeks answered, turning his phone for her to see. "Do you know any of these men?" Tina shook her head at each picture.

"No, I've never seen any of them," she said, managing to brush Deeks fingers when she handed his phone back. Deeks frowned, ruffling his hair and Tina followed the movement eagerly.

"Well, thank you for your time," Kensi said, pulling out a business card and handing it to Tina. "If you think of anything, don't hesitate to call." They started to turn away, but Tina placed a hand on Deeks' arm.

"Aren't you going to give me one of yours?" She held up Kensi's card when Deeks looked confused. She was still holding his arm and didn't seem to be in any hurry to let go.

"Oh, yeah, sure," he said, grabbing one from his jacket pocket. Tina plucked it from his hand with her thumb and forefinger and then ran her hand down his arm, letting it settle on his stomach.

"Call me anytime," she said, winking at Deeks. His eyes widened and he chuckled nervously, looking down at the brown carpeted floor. He gave Kensi a pleading look, clearly asking for her to intervene on his behalf, but she just grinned.

"Um, wow um, that is really…um, we really need to go, right Kensi?" He didn't wait for her to respond, but grabbed Kensi's arm, tugging her down the hallway and effectively dislodging Tina's hand.

"What was that?" Kensi asked once they were in the parking lot. Deeks was strolling along, as confident as ever, like nothing had happened.

"What was what?"

"Back there. She was totally hitting on you and you shut her down."

"I was just caught off-guard a little bit."

"You were blushing." His cheeks flushed again, different than the way they did sometimes when he said something particularly ridiculous around the team. It was oddly charming.

"No, I wasn't!" He sounded outraged, but Kensi knew what she'd seen. The great playboy, Marty Deeks, had just literally run away from a very willing and attractive woman.

"Then why didn't you take her up on her offer?" Kensi moved in front of him and turned around blocking his path. He inhaled deeply, looking upward for a moment and crossed her arms over his chest. Tina probably would have swooned at the way it emphasized his biceps.

"Because, Kensi, I thought it would be unprofessional. We're on a case, she was a potential witness. Totally goes against NCIS regulations," he said and Kensi snorted.

"Unprofessional? Please. Don't forget that you once tried to have me stage a fight so a yoga class would like you," she said, grinning up at him.

Ignoring her last comment, Deeks held up a finger and pointed out,

"That wasn't during a case."

"Being on a case has never stopped you before."

"Oh my god," Deeks groaned, tossing his head back. "Can we please stop talking about this?"

"Not a chance," Kensi said, snickering as she started walking again. "I am enjoying myself way too much." Deeks hurried to catch up with her.

"This stays between just the two of us, right? Partner to partner?"

"You know, I bet Sam and Callen would find this very interesting." She tapped a finger against her lip and Deeks chuckled nervously.

"That's a joke, right?" he asked as she continued walking. "Kens?"

"I guess that depends on what you're willing to do," she said.

"I'll wash your laundry for another month." She gave him an unimpressed look and he amended, "Two months." Kensi patted him on the arm.

"So much for your reputation."

"That is so cruel and unnecessary." Rolling her eyes at him, Kensi finally took pity.

"Fine, in order to keep your no-so-dirty little secret, I want two months of laundry, frozen custard every Friday and once a week, take out of my choice," she decided. Deeks sighed, but didn't object.

"Do I at least get to eat the take out with you?" he asked and Kensi made a face.

"Of course. I'm not a monster." Deeks smiled at that until she added, with a smirk, "Besides, it'll give us plenty of time to dissect your reaction to Tina."

Kensi walked away, laughing at the sound of Deeks' groan.
