Author Note

Garuda1178 suggested that I got to Star Trek TNG for the next story, but I'm not sure when in the time line he should appear so I put together a small sample chapter in the hopes of getting some more ideas.

Demigod CYOA 3 - TNG

Part 1

The Guardian of Forever was a mysterious construct of an unknown, ancient alien race, which functioned as a time portal: a gateway to the time vortex that allowed access to other times, locations and as it turned out even other dimensions. I knew that last part to be true because I'd gotten spat out of the big stone ring rather than simply appearing as I had done before. What I didn't know was why it had brought me through time and possibly space if I'd orginally meant to come somewhere.

"Welcome" said the Guardian "I have brought you to this time so that you not be destroyed in the past".

It took me a few moments to process that. Despite my high intellignece and semi-divine nature I can still be overwhelmed and I'd not moved through time in such a way until now.

"You only moved me through time?" I questioned "Nothing else"?.

The Guardian replied wihout delay.

"When you entered this time line you did so at a point where I have no contact with other forms of life" I was told "This world lacks the means to sustain human life deyond a few days, and even you would have died within a matter of weeks".

So I'd been moved through time by the Guardian so I wouldn't die along. I wouldn't have been foolish enough to bring Faith out of the pocket dimesnion and into a world that I could not endure.

"The amount of time you will spend in this universe will not be changed I simply altered the point in history that you will spend it in" I was informed by stone arch thing "In this peroid of history you and your compainon has the highest chance of surivial".

I wasn't sure what to say since I'd been expecting to appear in some world with magic and mediveil technology like the last two times.

"Thank you" I said.

"You are welcome" was the reply.

So this Guardian had saved my life and by extenstion that of Faith as it had been explained to me a while back that the pocket dimension that my compainon was stored in would collapse once my life ended since it linked to me via by blood. On the matter of Faith I really should free her from her current state.

For that I needed a flat surface big enough for me to carry her statue through. Lucky for me I was was positioned among the eventual ruins of a large, forgotten city that stretched beyond the horizon in all directions around it. I wondered what happened to the civilsation here. Did they somehow destroy themselves by misusing The Guardian without totally wiping themselves out of history.

Not that this mattered to me as I had other things on my mind, such as making sure that Faith was okay, her statue seemed fine, so once I got it outside of the pocket dimension I got to work.

"The weight of time is heavy on the world, and all men born must die. But there are worlds unknown, where dreamers dream and sleepers sleep and patiently await".

While saying the special words that Amy Maidson had drilled into my head I moved around the statue of Faith sprinkling some magic dust that I got from a big which contained more of the stuff than I would ever need.

"Arise. Arise. Arise!"

That did the trick and stone Faith became fleshy Faith, an improvement in my view as stone her didn't look anywhere near as good as the organic one. The Dark Slayer quickly got up and brushed herself down, removing the grit that covered much of her.

"Miss me, Daddy?" she asked.

From my perspective it had only been a matter of hours since we last seen each other and for her no time would have passed at all.

"Hey, whose there?" someone asked.

Some people had turned up, by the looks of them I was in the TNG era I felt sure of this as the uniforms were more colourfull than what I remember from DS9 and Voyager, although my memories from before I became a demi-god were becoming less depenable over time. I did remember more than enough to put my hands up when someone had a phaser pointed at me as I had idea if the orbs would stop a shot from a phaser like they would a bullet and I didn't wise to find out. Sure I could take down a few Starfleet officers without trouble, it was just that wouldn't be a helpful course of action in this situation since Faith and I were going to need their help.

"Fuck!" swore Faith "Are we in Star Trek?".

I was surprised she'd figured out.

"You know Star Trek?" I asked.

She shrugged her shoulder while rasiing her hands.

"Vamps only come out at night and before we met I never had the money to do more than hang out in my motel room and watch TV" she told me "So I know the basics, beam me up Scotty, phasers, Klingons are warriors, Data is a robot".

More or less correct.

Captain's Log

A scientfic team which has been using the artefact known as the Guardian of Forever to study important past events without risking interference has discovered something rather unexpected. The Guardain has for some reason brought two people from a different timeline, perhaps even a totally different dimension, to our universe. The Guardian stated that it did this to save lives, but it has never done this before as far as we know.

The two visitors our dimension and time will be transferring to the Enterprise as the research falicaty has limited resources. While here I'm sure that our two guests will be a topic of great interest and they will hopefully comply with any studies of them that the crew wish to undertake. I admit that I find myself rather curoius about not just where they came from, but also when.
