Graydon Creed's parents were both mutants, yet he was not. In his world, if one of your parents was a mutant, you had an approximately 50% chance of being a mutant. If both your parents were mutants, the odds of you being a mutant were 99.99%. Creed was part of that other 0.01%. He felt no love for his mutant heritage, quite the opposite. Creed helped form the anti-mutant hate group, the Friends of Humanity. The Xmen exposed his mutant heritage, and Creed went insane, even spent time in a mental institution. Perhaps not enough. During this time the Council took leadership of the Friends of Humanity, they were not willing to give up this power. When Creed failed to murder his own mother and half-brother, the Council punished Creed. They dropped him off at the cabin of his father, Sabertooth. Sabertooth, tormented his son, Creed commited suicide to escape from him. Not suprisingly, Creed wound up in Hell, along with several of his old followers. Now, they had been sent to Earth to help stir up hatred of alien refugees, many of whom were mutants. It was fairly ironic, the Friends of Humanity welcomed african-americans, it was known that Creed himself was an immigrant from Canada. They just didn't seem to realize, or care, that they were using the same rhetoric and methods as groups like the Ku Klux Klan. Now they were using their old methods against alien refugees. It seemed that people could always find some minority to hate. One day, Creed's greatest fear came true. His father Sabertooth found him.

Creed: No, it can't be!
Sabertooth: Hello son, mutant slayer.
Creed: You're not suppossed to be here.
Sabertooth: Did you think some treaty would stop me from seeing my kid?

Sabertooth grabbed his son's throat, Creed tried to beg for his life. In that moment, Graydon Creed sr saw himself in his son's eyes. His mind flashed back to the only man who ever terrified him, his father. Sabertooth let his son go.

Creed: Please don't hurt me.
Sabertooth: I used to say that to my father. Jebediah Creed, always said I had the devil in me, that he could control it. Maybe his father did the same to him, and you just kept on hating.
Creed; You're the reason I hate mutants. You, and the woman who abandoned me!
Sabertooth: Yeah, but it has to end sometime.
Creed: If you're going to kill me, just make it quick.
Sabertooth: No. Xavier says we'll all get into Heaven and love each other one day. Might as well start now.
Creed: What do you mean?
Sabertooth: I'll take you to Antarctica, they'll try to rehabilitate you like they're trying to do for me. Now let's go, before I change my mind and send you back to Hell.
