SmackDown Filming: June 26, 2012
I put on my gear as I prepared for my match tonight. Vickie Guerrero, who was in charge this week, booked me to face AJ in a match that was not for the Divas Championship tonight. I knew I had to be careful because if she caught me off guard and beat me tonight, that would be another person who would be coming after my Divas Championship. That was the last thing I needed right now.
I looked at my phone for what was probably close to the hundredth time today. I was expecting to hear from Randy at some point today, but I hadn't heard from him yet. I put my phone down and look at myself in the mirror. My stress was noticeable just from looking at me. I frowned before going to work on my hair.
AJ and I have only wrestled once before. It was a Six Person Mixed Tag Team match where I teamed up with Randy and Sheamus to face AJ, Kane, and Daniel. My team had won that match with me pinning AJ to win. However, AJ was much different now, despite the fact that the match was only three months ago. I was determined to win against her tonight. I finish my hair and smile as I tape up my wrists.
I knew that I had it in me to win tonight, and that was exactly what I was going to do.
Let's light it up, light it up, light it up
Light up tonight, let's light it up
Like shooting stars are burning, light up the sky…
"The following Divas match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Union City, New Jersey AJ!"
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, the WWE Divas Champion, the Queen of Chaos, Marissa Orton!"
Ding! Ding! Ding!
AJ and I circle around the ring. We lock up and I manage to get AJ into a Side Headlock. AJ punches me to break my hold. She goes to kick me in the gut, but I grab her foot. I dropped her foot and hit her with a hard Right Hand. I pin AJ.
1…kickout!
AJ hits me with a Spinning Heel Kick. I fall to the ground. As I start to get up, AJ nails me with a Dropkick. AJ pins me.
1…kickout!
AJ climbs up onto the top turnbuckle and goes to hit a Crossbody on me, but I get my knees up to counter it. AJ rolls over onto the ground. I kick AJ in the ribs a couple times before grabbing her and hitting her with a German Suplex. I pin AJ.
1…2…kickout!
AJ gets back up, and we circle around the ring. I once again get AJ into a Side Headlock. However, she makes it to the ropes, forcing me to release. She then shoves me into the ropes. When I rebound back, AJ nails me with a Dropkick. AJ pins me.
1…2…kickout!
AJ is noticeably getting frustrated, which is where I think her weakness is. I get up and she hits me with a Thesz Press. We roll out of the ring.
1!
2!
I throw AJ into the barricade. I then grab her and hit her with a DDT.
3!
4!
I roll AJ back into the ring and pin her.
1…2…kickout!
I go to drop a knee on AJ. However, she rolls out of the way. She hits me with a Shining Wizard.
("Flight of the Valkyries" plays)
Daniel starts making his way down the ramp. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!"
I know he was doing this to get payback on AJ, but I didn't appreciate Daniel doing this during my match.
AJ gets distracted by Daniel. I sneak up behind her and roll her into a pin.
1…2…3!
"Here is your winner, Marissa Orton!"
I grab my Divas Championship and celebrate. AJ attacks me from behind. We start fighting. I kicked AJ in the head to create separation before exiting the ring to head backstage as Daniel was in the ring taunting AJ.
I waited around in guerilla. I didn't like that Daniel had gotten involved in my match. Granted it was in my favor and I did win, I didn't care for what Daniel did.
I watched as Daniel arrived backstage. I made my way over to him.
Daniel smiled at me. "Hey, what's up?"
I roll my eyes. "We need to talk."
"Okay…do you want to take it out of guerilla?"
I shrug. "Sure."
Daniel and I exit guerilla. We enter a small hallway that's nearby.
"What do you need to talk about?" Daniel asks.
"Listen," I say. "I know why you did that tonight, and I'll let it slide. However, I don't want to see you get involved in any of my matches ever again."
Daniel starts laughing. "Is that what you're mad about? Come on, Marissa. I helped you beat AJ. It didn't harm you at all."
"I don't appreciate it, Daniel. Don't do it again."
"Relax, Marissa. You won the match. I got my payback. It's a win-win for both of us."
"I still don't appreciate it, and I don't want you to do it again. Unlike you during your World Heavyweight Championship reign, I actually like being a champion that wins clean."
"Really? You act like I'm so bad when Randy is worse about that than I ever have been. Where's Randy at anyway? Oh, that's right. He's suspended."
I give Daniel a dirty look. "Where's Brie? Oh, that's right. She doesn't even work here anymore."
"At least Brie got the better man. The same couldn't be said about you. Why do you always have to be hostile still anyway? We broke up over two years ago, and you've been married for over a year."
"I'm hostile because you're still not a good person and I never got an apology. Randy deserves one too actually. Enough about that, just don't get involved in my matches ever again."
"Whatever. I did you a favor. Your birthday is in six days. Just consider it a birthday present." Daniel walks past me and leaves.
I roll my eyes. "Still can't stand him."
