Chapter 171

Hiccups POV:

It's been four weeks since I got back from my trip to help the two lovers Derek and Odette and in that time I am happy to say things have been nice and quiet. After informing my parents and showing everyone what happened, I once again received another lecture from my parents but fortunately this one wasn't as bad since my mom was a hopeless romantic and thought my adventure was sweet. As expected, afterwards multiple questions were asked and I had to answer all of them or else the people wouldn't leave me alone whenever I came to visit the village. After that I just had to deal with the usual problems of people wanting to either vacation on my island or for me to help train them their own dragons. Most of the time I just told them the usual stuff about my island being private and how I was too busy to show them how to train their own dragons.

Other than those typical problems that I could handle without much trouble I'd been enjoying a little down time that both Blanca and Astrid had insisted upon. They made sure I didn't work on anything by locking my forge and designs up to prevent me from doing any work and ordered two of the snake guardians to guard the doors incase I tried to pick the lock. Normally I'd order the two guardians to let me pass but Blanca and Astrid gave them specific orders not to let me pass while Blanca was in her guardian form with the blade of her tail ready while Astrid held her freshly sharpened axe in front of her. I couldn't blame them for being scared since when the girls told me I needed time to relax they did so in the same way they terrified even me and I'd gone up against a titan with no fear.

I did try to sneak in once using my ninja skill and my prosthetics phasing ability but sadly the girls had thought of this and secretly had a snake guardian in snake form hidden in the ventilation system and he was quick to let them know about me. Long story short, not only did I sleep on the couch in the library for a week but I also got stuck on dish duty with no help for the exact same amount of time. Besides that they made sure at least one of them was with me at all times to make sure I wasn't going to try anything that they thought would put strain on me. For me this meant no blacksmithing, no training in my training mirror, designing and inventing automatons, no harvesting minerals from my mine and no helping my dad or Gobber on Berk.

This lead to my parents finding out about what was happening between the girls and me but instead of helping me try to help me they were in full agreement with Blanca and Astrid. They also believed that I needed time to kick back and relax after all I've been through and felt that I should just take the girls advice and just enjoy some down time. Because of this I ended up spending my time up in the sky on Toothless with Astrid riding on Stormfly to keep an eye on me. When I wasn't up in the sky I spent my time on the ground on my island enjoying the things I could do which was a lot considering what my island is like and all the things I could enjoy.

For starters I was fortunately able to convince the girls to at least let me use my training room to practice my moves against imaginary opponents but didn't let me use my training mirror. Along with that I spent some time meditating by my Japanese shrine and had to say it was rather refreshing to enjoy a bit of peace to sort some things out in my mind and go through some old memories. I'd also taken some time to run all my animals through some drills in the coliseum including Mfalme who'd become old enough to begin his own training as a guard of the island. Sadly I couldn't do any of this without Astrid and Blanca with me so I got very little alone time besides my meditation time, which only lasted an hour. I admit it wasn't all bad though considering when I was taking a bath Blanca insisted she join me which was nice since the company of my wife cuddling up to me in the hot water makes for a relaxing experience.

Now I was laying on one of the clines by the pool wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and my eye patch while I enjoyed the suns rays shining down on me. Toothless was lying down next to the cline gently snoozing as he like me enjoyed the suns rays shining down on his scales. It was then I was brought out of my thoughts of what these past days were like by two hands landing on my shoulders and beginning to massage them making me groan in pleasure as the familiar voice of my wife Blanca asked.

"Are you enjoying your down time Hiccup?" I didn't open my eyes as I replied.

"I admit, I do miss my forge but this time has been wonderful."

"You are always working whether you're travelling, visiting Berk or on the island." I just smiled.

"What can I say other than I like to keep myself busy." She giggled.

"I know and it is something I love about you but also hate from time to time as it makes me worry."

"I know Blanca but I can't change who I am."

"And I would not want you to change in any way." I smiled at her hoping this meant she'd allow me to reopen my forge. "You are still not allowed in the forge though." I sighed.

"How'd you know what I was thinking?"

"I am your wife, it is my duty to know what you are thinking and the smile on your face told me everything." I sighed and nodded.

"Well at least I get some more time to relax a bit more and more importantly get to spend time with both you and Astrid." She giggled and dug her fingers a bit deeper.

"You are so sweet Hiccup."

"No I'm just trying to be honest." She giggled before the sound of metal hitting stone sounded through the room and I smiled as I opened my eyes to turn and see one of my serving automatons holding a tray with two goblets. "The drinks are here." Blanca let go of my shoulders as I stood up and took the drinks from the tray before I turned around to face my wife in her swim wear and passed her the goblet in my real hand before holding up my goblet. "To the two incredible women in my life, both of which I'd gladly give my life to see smile." She giggled and replied.

"Just keep being the man we love and you'll never stop making us smile."

I smiled at her as we both took a sip of our drinks while just enjoying the moment of loving peace we had since it was these moments in which I felt truly happy. Sadly our moment we interrupted by the door being pushed open and the hinges I'd needed to oil squeak making us turn our attention to it. We saw none other than the other woman in my life, Astrid Hofferson but by the look in her eyes her arrival wasn't simply to join us for a swim. She walked up to us as I said.

"Hey Astrid, I take it you didn't just come by to join us for an afternoon swim." She shook her head.

"No, a couple of traders just arrived on Berk looking for you." I raised an eyebrow.

"Did they say why or how they know about me?" She shook her head.

"No but apparently your father and a few of the village elders know them as trustworthy traders." I snorted at this.

"We thought the same thing about trader Johan and we all know how that turned out." The girls nodded.

"Well either way, your father wants you there to meet with them and see what they want." I raised an eyebrow before I let out a sigh.

"If my father wants me there then I better do it and save myself the headache that comes from the lecture I get from him for ignoring his call." We all sighed at this knowing what his lectures were like since they'd being in a relationship with me they often got pulled into them. "Just give me a few minutes to get dressed and I'll be there." Before I could leave Blanca said.

"I'm coming with you." Astrid then said.

"Me to." I looked at them but Astrid replied before I could ask. "You have a habit of getting into dangerous situation Hiccup and from the look of both fear and hope in their eyes you're about to be pulled into another one." I knew this was not a battle I could win so I nodded.

"Alright, just give me time to get dressed so we can go greet the traders." They both nodded as Astrid said.

"I'll meet you both outside, at the bottom of the stairs with Stormfly." We nodded and left the room.

Ten minutes later

I was walking up the stairs of the great hall with Astrid on my right with her axe on her back and Blanca on my left while Toothless and Stormfly were following behind us. I was wearing my usual attire with my arsenal of god made weapons in my prosthetic arm since I wasn't taking any chances with these traders since they could be like trader Johan and be up to something while wanting to get me out of the way. I took a breath and mentally prepared myself for what might come before I pushed the door open and looked inside to see what was happening. My parents, Gobber and Spitelout were sitting on one end of a long table with their backs facing the wall while across from them were a total of four people with their backs to us. Nobody noticed us as we walked in just as I heard one of the male traders say.

"So you see why we felt it would be a good decision to come to your son for help us with this problem we're having." It was then I decided to make our presence known.

"And what would this problem be exactly?" They all jumped and turned to us but before anyone could say anything I continued. "Are you all just going to sit there and stare or tell me what's going on because if not then I have other things that I have to do?" The second trader to the left who'd been talking before, quickly stood up allowing me to see he was five feet tall with a black beard, wore a helmet that had goat horns, green eyes and wore a brown tunic and black pants.

"That won't be necessary my dear boy." He walked up to me. "Please allow me to introduce myself and my companions." He gestured to himself. "I am Trader Maddock. " He then gestured to the other men who were walking up. "And these are my companions and partners." He gestured to a man of the same height with a blonde beard and greenish blue eyes, was very muscular only has a mustache that's braided he wears a blue tunic and brown pants and boots. "This is trader Cadoc!" Trader Maddock gestured to a man with brown hair, brown eyes with a goatee, wearing a black shirt, green pants and brown boots. "Trader Faramond!" and then he gestured to the last man with a black braided beard that went down to his waist, with blue eyes wearing an orange shirt, black pants and brown boots. "And Trader Lando!" I gave each a nod in greeting after each introduction before I gestured to Blanca.

"This is my wife Blanca," I then gestured to Astid. "and this is my friend Astrid." I then turned to the traders. "Now what exactly is it you want from me?" Trader Cadoc answered.

"Well you see lad we run a chain of trading ships in which we send men out with goods to various islands but sadly for the past few months we've been having a few issues and we were hoping you could help us out with it." I raised an eyebrow.

"And what is this problem exactly?" Trader Faramond was a lot more to the point and said.

"It's pirates lad, we've been dealing with them for months now with them sinking or stealing our ships, stealing our merchandise and taking our men as prisoners."

"And you want me to take these pirates down and rescue your men?" They all nodded before Trader Lando stepped forward.

"We've heard of your adventures and the threats you've faced and knew you might be the only one able to take on this fleet of pirates." I raised an eyebrow knowing I might be able to use this to my advantage so it could benefit Berk if I played things right.

"And why exactly should I help you with this pirate problem?" Everyone who already knew me looked at me in shock most likely expecting me to accept the traders' request without hesitation but I gave them a look telling them to trust me. "I don't recall ever seeing you offer aid to Berk or even coming by to do business with Berk in any way." Trader Maddock was quick to answer.

"It's true that this is the first time we've even sailed the waters of Berk but should you help us then you shall be rewarded handsomely." I raised an eyebrow. "We deal in large variety of items such as exotic foods, plants, artifacts, materials, statues, paintings, you name it and we have it." He then turned his attention to Blanca and Astrid. "I'm sure if there's nothing that catches your interest you might find something for your ladies here." This caught my attention. "We also deal in a large variety of jewelry, dresses, make up and other such things." I took a breath and thought things over before coming with a way this could benefit Berk.

"I have my own price actually." They all stared at me with curiosity in their eyes. "I'll deal with your pirates and get your people back but when it's all done you all have to add Berk to the islands you do business with since I want my people to have access to the merchandise you have available for trade." They all nodded.

"That is acceptable Hiccup."

"So we have a deal?" They all nodded.

"Just give us till tomorrow to write up a trade agreement." I nodded.

"I'll go through it when it's done and I'll need you to bring me all the information you have on these pirates so I know what I'll be going up against." They nodded and left as I turned to face those who were still present and saw my father looking at me with pride while everyone just smiled at me. "What?" My father chuckled and walked up and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm proud of you Hiccup." He put his other hand on my free shoulder. "You could've just accepted the job and whatever they offered you but instead you turned it around to something that'd benefit Berk in the future." I smiled.

"Chiefs look out for their own dad." He chuckled.

"Does this mean you're ready to take over from me because I'd like to retire and spend the remainder of my days enjoying some well deserved rest?" I chuckled.

"Sorry dad but I'm not ready to stop my travels or adventures and besides that you'd miss your job too much and come out of retirement after three weeks." Mom chuckled drawing our attention to her.

"Hiccup, your father would be bored and out of retirement in half that time." I chuckled.

"True!" My dad just groaned before looking back to me.

"Well I might be able to last longer in retirement if I was given a grandchild to bounce on my knee." I groaned at this before Blanca said.

"We have been talking about having a child but we haven't come to any solid decisions yet." I nodded.

"We'll go over this another time since for now I need to practice my combat skills since the pirates are no doubt going to laugh in my face if I ask them to surrender peacefully." We all chuckled before I made my way out of the Great Hall so I could return to my island and get some training in before the coming adventure.

Four days later

It's been four days since I first met the traders who requested my help and in that time a lot has happened with the latest adventure I've been pulled into. To begin with the traders had brought their agreement and I could tell they were expecting my father to just sign it if the eager looks on their faces when he picked up a pencil to sign after he went through the main parts was anything to go by. Before he could though I took it and began reading it which is when they tried to get me to just have my father sign it with a hint of fear in their voices and tried to stop me from reading through it. I had to have Toothless get on the table and growl at them to make them back off allowing me to go through the agreement word for word and learnt that they were trying to pull one over us.

For starters in the smaller print it was written that they'd send their ships once every two months but we'd have to pay them one hundred gold coins for every ship they sent and every day they were docked which would be a week each time. Along with this their men would be given accommodations and free reign on my island where they'd be free to explore and barter with me for whatever caught their eyes. It was written down as travel expenses that needed to be paid and mandatory accommodations and a trade agreement but I saw them for what they were really and that was a scam to trick us into giving up our gold and get their men access to my island. When I was done reading the contract through they tried to back out of the hall but I signaled Toothless to guard the door cutting them off.

After that I confronted them about their attempts to scam us despite me planning on going up against pirates to not only make their lives easier but to also get their traders back. They explained that I might be helping them but despite this they were still businessmen and they needed to make up for their lost profits concerning the ships that were sank. My father wanted to split their heads in two for trying to con Berk but I told him there was time for that later since we needed to take care of business first. It took six hours of negotiation but we were able to come with an agreement that everyone accepted with little complaints but the traders weren't as happy with it as they were with my father not killing them for trying to play him for a fool. Now at least one of their trade ships would visit once a month and be given fifteen gold coins for coming and an extra three gold coins for everyday they were here while also being allowed to stay in the village for their stay.

When the deal was worked out they gave me all the information they had on the pirates who'd been causing them so much trouble, which wasn't much to begin with. From the information I learnt their groups travel in groups of three ships that surround the victims ship before boarding and taking the victims ships while either sinking it or towing it when they're done. Their ships are meant to be fast and maneuverable allowing them to easily surround the ships preventing their victims from getting away. From what they've been able to figure out about the crew, it's the lead ships captain who directs all those on the crew including those on the other ships. Along with this they told me the main hunting grounds of the pirates but sadly they didn't know where the pirates base is so I couldn't perform a direct attack on them.

Then came to dealing with Blanca and Astrid who weren't too happy with me for accepting the traders' request since they were both hoping I'd turn them down or at least relax for a few more days. I think it helped them calm down a bit when I reminded them that this time I'd be going up against normal human beings instead of the usual monsters or evil magic users. Compared to them normal human beings will be a piece of cake, especially with my combat skills and god made weapons plus with my ships capabilities they wouldn't stand a chance. This got the girls to back off a bit so I could begin preparing for my trip without them complaining about me getting wrapped up in another adventure. Still it didn't stop them from making me promise them I'd come back safe and wouldn't forget to come back to them. The made me make this promise when I was about to leave on my ship and they both quickly followed it up with a kiss on the lips with Blanca being the first one to kiss me. Then I was off on my ship on my pirate hunt which I'm hoping won't be too long since I don't like those traders being on Berk after what they tried to pull when we were making the deal.

This brings us to now with me standing on my ships in my sailing armor, my grootslang coat in a dark blue jacket form and my leather vest armor over the chest plate and standing next to me was Toothless. I was sailing across the ocean in the area where the pirates had been seen the most since I was hoping to capture a few of their ships with the crew for questioning on the location of their base. With that information I'd use my stealth skills I'd sneak in to rescue the prisoners before dealing with the pirates themselves and ensuring they're captured before they're taken to Outcast Island to be imprisoned for some time. I just hoped that the prisoners were still alive since the last thing I wanted was to inform the traders that any of their men hadn't made it out alive. It was at that moment Toothless let out a growl bringing me out of my thoughts and I turned to see what was aggravating him and turned to see him looking over the edge making me run to see what was going on as I asked.

"What is it bud?" He growled and pointed out at the ocean with his muzzle making me turn to see three ships coming at us and they were coming fast. "Well bud, I believe we've found the pirates we've been looking for." He growled as I willed my ship to turn towards theirs and begin sailing at them full speed. "Let's go greet them."

He growled as my ships front towers defenses began preparing to fire but I knew I couldn't launch them since most would end up sinking the ships, which isn't something I could do since there might be merchandise on them or more importantly prisoners. It was then we got closer to the ships and using my eagle eye I was able to see one man standing at the head of the lead ship smiling as he gave out orders. He then turned to me and gave out an order for the two side ships to get to my ships sides as I willed my ship allowing them to come closer while the lead ship stopped. I signaled Toothless to get ready for a fight making me smile as the ships sailed up to my sides with the men on the two decks laughing as they readied their weapons. I just smiled and waited for them to begin boarding so I could begin my counter attack knowing these men had no idea what my ship or me was capable of. It was then the gangplanks went down and men began walking across as I smiled and said.

"It's been a while since I last had a real fight against another human being." I switched my prosthetic arm into its dragon claw form and switched the hand to the flail head. "It'll be a nice change to the usual monsters and I have been wanting to test out my new flails abilities." With that I turned my attention to the men who were boarding from the right gangplank with a smile.

Nobodies POV:

Hiccup pointed his flails head towards the gangplank on the right of his ship where three men were making their way across as another man holding a sword began climbing up onto the gangplank. Hiccup launched the flail right into the lead mans stomach pushing him back into the man behind him who in turn was pushed back into the man behind him before Hiccup pulled the flail back into his arm. While them men fell onto the man who was climbing onto the gangplank Hiccup turned his attention to the gangplank on the other side of the ship only to see one of the men already hopping onto the deck. He chuckled as he readied his sword and pointed it at Hiccup before he let out a battle cry and charged at Hiccup full speed with his sword raised high.

Hiccup loosened the chain of his flail letting the head of his weapon fall to the ground until it was half a foot off the ground and began slowly swinging it from side to side. When the pirate was close enough he raised his arm and swung the flail from the right side to the left aiming at the pirates sword. Hiccup smiled when the head of the flail struck the blade shattering it making its wielder stop dead in his tracks and lower his broken weapon and stare at it in shock. He was only able to stare at it for a second before Hiccup swung the ball from the left striking the man in the side throwing the pirate into the ships staircase. Hiccup then swung the ball from the right knocking another pirate who had just jumped onto the deck behind his ally into the ships railing.

Although taking on these men only took a few seconds three men from the ship on the right side had used the short amount of time to quickly board Hiccups ship. Hiccup turned to face the smiling men who were each holding their own weapons, which were an axe, being held by the man on the far right, a mace on the far left and a long sword being held by a man in the middle. Knowing his flail might not be the best weapon for this fight he quickly switched it out and brought out his lion gauntlets while activating his leather chest plate's power to be safe.

Just as the gauntlets finished forming they charged at him ready to take him down with the man in the middle running ahead of the two men on the sides. He quickly slashed his sword down at Hiccup who held up his gauntlets sideways to catch the sword in the mouths of the lions that immediately snapped down on the blade. The blade of the sword snapped in two as the pirate let go of his swords handle allowing the gauntlets to begin chowing down on the broken sword immediately as the manes spun rapidly while the pirate stared in shock as his sword was devoured. Hiccup just smiled at him and pointed his gauntlets behind him with the lion heads on either side of his body before he launched two metal balls that were once the sword of his opponent.

The balls flew through the air towards the two charging pirates who held their weapons high before the balls struck them both in the guts making them drop their weapons and fall to the ground gasping for air as they blacked out. Hiccup pulled back and looked into the face of the remaining pirate who stared at him in shock while Hiccup just smiled at him. Before the guy could react Hiccup pulled his right fist back and delivered a strong punch that sent the pirate flying over the railing and over the gangplank into another boarding pirate.

Hiccup turned to check on the other gangplank and was greeted by the sight of a man wielding small twin axes running at him ready to fight. Hiccup knew he didn't have time to use his fists since his opponent was too close so he quickly dropped to the ground and performed a leg sweep. The pirate that had swung one his axes when Hiccup ducked down felt his legs get swept out from under him causing him to not only drop his axes but fall face first into the ships railing knocking him unconscious. This gave Hiccup a chance to breath but this chance as he saw another man climbing onto the gangplanks on both ends of the ships.

Thinking fast Hiccup collapsed his gauntlets and released one of the arrows he had stored in his prosthetic and quickly threw it at the man running at him from the right. The arrow struck him right in the chest before the end shot out and struck the other pirate that had just reached the end of the gangplank revealing the arrow to be a rope arrow. Hiccup stepped back smiling right before the rope quickly pulled both men towards each other until they slammed into each other right in the middle of the deck. The arrow turned to dust seconds before their bodies collided but the second their heads impacted each other they weren't getting back up for a while.

Hiccup looked around at the gangplanks for any more enemies to face but saw none coming and the ones who were still on the other ships were unconscious. Hiccup smiled until his eyes landed on the lead ship that had begun to retreat and was speeding away making Hiccup frown. Knowing that they would most likely warn the other members of their group about him and possibly hold both prisoners and answers to questions he had he knew that he couldn't let them escape. With this in mind he willed his ship to launch the ballistae in the towers at the front of his ship and reel in the lead ship that was trying to escape. He smiled as he watched the large spear like projectiles fly through the air until they struck the back of the fleeing ships hull stopping it where it floated making those on board stumble and in some cases fall over as the ship suddenly stopped. Hiccup willed his ship to begin pulling them in and the enemy ship was slowly pulled towards Hiccups ship as the front slowly began to open up and lift up.

Hiccup smiled at the sound of the captain of the lead ship began barking out orders while the men tried to cut the lines connected to my ballistae. Hiccup shook his head knowing that they were wasting their time as the ropes were near unbreakable and could only be broken by a mystic blade of great power like my star sword. The screams of the pirates eventually came to an end as the ship was pulled into the part of Hiccups ship that had taken the form of a large mouth. The ship returned to normal a few seconds after allowing Hiccup a moment to look around at the deck and all those who now lay unconscious around the deck. Hiccup took a moment to will his ship to deal with his two fallen opponents and a moment later the floors below them opened and they fell through only to appear in cells below deck seconds later.

With them dealt with Hiccup turned his attention to the two ships that were still docked next to his own ship that still held some of the unconscious opponents. Hiccup walked up to the gangplanks and knocked them off into the ocean before willing his ship to back up and out from between the two ships. When he was one small ship away from them in distance he had his ship repeat the actions that he did to the lead ship and soon enough the remaining two ships were gone. The crews of the ships were in cells, their cargo in the storage holds while the ships themselves had joined the lead ship in the cupboard, continuously sailing in the stormy waters within the bottles they were now trapped in. With the ships and their crews dealt with Hiccup turned his ship towards Outcast Island so he could drop the pirates off and interrogate the pirates on the location of their base, number of ships they have, who their leader is and other things.

Nightfall

Unknown location

A man with a messy and tangled black beard ran down the halls passing multiple lit torches along the way while multiple sounds echoed behind him as he held a few scrolls to his chest. He kept walking until he reached a large wooden door decorated with gold plates in multiple forms like the doors leading to the commanders' quarters of a dragon hunter ship. On either side of the door were large men who reached Stoick in size and height but they were all muscle, clean-shaven and wore hornless helmets that shaded their eyes so they couldn't be seen easily and each held a mace with the heads resting against the ground. He gulped before he walked up to them and said.

"I have todays report for the captain."

They didn't make any movements other than a simple gesture with their shoulders making the man gulp and push the door open and walk in before the door shut behind him. The room was dark with the only source of light coming from the window in the roof shedding moonlight onto the floor into the middle of the room. Besides that the rest of the room was completely covered in darkness except for a wooden desk on the other end of the room. The desk was clear of anything but the man could feel the eyes of the person behind it staring at him as he hesitantly walked up and into the moonlight. The man let out a gulp and said.

"I've got todays reports captain." He placed the scrolls onto the table one by one as he nervously smiled. "The ships brought in a good haul of merchandise, new prisoners and a few ships as well." Then came the part that he was nervous about. "There is one thing though, the ships sent to hunt in the north east area didn't come back and when we sent some men to investigate there were no signs of a fight but one of our guards on the sea stacks claimed they did see them sailing by." He could feel the other person glare at him from the shadows making him feel as if death was waiting behind him with a hand on his shoulder. "We've already sent out scouts to see what might've happened to our allies and their ships since presently it seems as if they've vanished without a trace." He then got careless and continued with. "Perhaps they have fled to parts unknown with their recent prizes in an attempt to escape you out of lack of loyalty for you ca-" He was cut off when a knife flew from the darkness and impaled itself into the ground right between his legs. "Forgive me captain, I momentarily forgot about how all fleet leaders are personally met by you to ensure they know the price of betrayal and how they can never escape you to ensure loyalty captain." He stepped back. "I was not bringing your methods into question." He could feel the glare on him and saw the glint of another knife in the darkness. "I'll go check up on if the scouts have returned yet and allow you to go over the latest reports in peace captain."

With that said he made a hasty retreat out the door before the person hiding in the darkness could use the knife that reflected the light of the full moon. When the door closed the person in the darkness leaned back in their chair before playing with the knife wondering what happened to the missing ships. They knew the ships couldn't have left the archipelago as they lacked the necessary rations and there were loyal crewmembers that'd mutiny if the captain even thought of fleeing. This was unlikely however as the captains of each ship had loyalty to the captain hammered into their minds and knew they could never escape as that was a mistake too many had made and faced the consequences for doing so.

This lead to the question of what happened to them, as it was unlikely there was a battle as there would have been evidence of a battle like a shipwreck or at least some debris from a damaged ship and they couldn't have disappeared into thin air. The captains' attention turned to the scrolls on the desk and knew it best to just go over the reports and see what the scouts reported back. Who knows they might come back with the ships or at least a clue to what happened to the ships and their occupants. With these thoughts the captain reached out and took the first scroll and unrolled it before the captain begun going over its contents.
