Chapter 187

.

When Briscoe and Bowler returned with Dixie and their other friends, Chase Graves was waiting for them. Briscoe and Bowler were arrested, the refugees were sent to Father's camp to help them assimilate. Chase was oppossed to mass immigration but, once they were in Antarctica, he was willing to train immigrants to help fight Evil. Those who had illegally brought them here, they would be placed on trial. As to what punishment they might rcieve, that was still being debated by the Council. In the meantime Chase went to see Andy again, after seeing something on tv that caught his eye.

.

Chase: Does the name Steve Newlin mean anything to you?

Andy: Yeah, he was an anti-vampire preacher in my world. Then he gets turned, and suddenly he's all for vampire rights. He adapted pretty easily, the Authority, those Lilith worshipping fanatics, and I think he was a trusty at Vamp Camp.

Chase: Sounds like he's either a survivor, a sociopath, or both.

Andy: Probably, why do you ask?

Chase: He's on tv now, preaching hatred of alien refugees like you and me.

Andy: Guess he's an agent of Evil, officially.

Chase; So it would seem. I saw similar preachers adopt anti-zombie sermons in my world. I believe you have four daughters who are fairies.

Andy: Yeah, three of them are in Hell and you arrested me for trying to spring them.

Chase: I enforced the law, you should be familiar with the concept. However, the judges will likely show leniency if you're willing to fight against Evil. I'd like to delay this final battle as long as possible, but it is probably inevitable. I bring up your children because it seems likely that reverand Newlin, and others like him, will turn on fairies and other supernatural creatures, long before they turn on refugees in general.

Andy: So, you're not going to arrest me for trying to save my other three daughters?

Chase: We can give some leeway to those willing to fight on our side.
