This chapter will be about Han's rescue from Jabba. I think it was about time he came back. I missed him :P
You'll also notice some changes in the story from the movies because there is no Leia. I tried to fill that role with Qi'ra and Laetitia, so I hope it turned out alright. I also didn't want to make Luke's role any less than he was in the movies. Laetitia is the main character, but Luke is a close second.
And in this chapter, there will be some Huttese lines. I wanted to use the English translation, but I thought it would be more fun if I did it with Huttese translators on the internet. I will also be writing the translation with them, so don't worry. I have no idea how accurate they actually are, but ... here they are!
Anyway, enjoy and don't forget to review :)
Chapter 192
On Tatooine
It had been almost a month since Iliana Skywalker was born ... and since she was given away. Laetitia had been through different kinds of pain. Physical and emotional ... But this one was too much for her to bear.
She felt like her heart had been ripped out of her body.
She also knew that there was nothing she could do about it. Iliana was safer that way. So she channeled her feelings into finding Han. She had to rescue him. She waited long enough.
She needed him back by her side again. She desperately longed for the return of her best friend. She needed his simple comments and jokes now more than ever. As much as she hated to admit it, he was one of the important people in her life. She couldn't go through hardships without him.
So they decided to rescue him. The Skywalker children planned the whole thing. Ahsoka and Rex were ready in the Millennium Falcon, ready to get them when they were ready to leave. Since she was still useful, Qi'ra asked Leah to let her help. She was the 'Bounty Hunter' who brought Chewie to Jabba. Lando had already infiltrated Jabba's Palace, so he was just waiting to help if things went wrong. And another backup was Laetitia and Luke. They would step in if Qi'ra failed and got caught.
Which was exactly what happened. When Qi'ra freed Han, they both were caught after 2 seconds. Han was sent back to the cell with Chewie, while ... Qi'ra was with Jabba ... as a pleasure slave.
When Luke and Leah entered the Palace, they saw Qi'ra immediately by Jabba's side. Luke was a bit shocked, and Leah ... was disgusted. She hated her, but not this much. Although she would be lying if she said she didn't deserve that.
Leah expected to go through the same thing when she and Luke were captured, too, but to her surprise nothing happened. When they were done killing (nametheanimal), they were just dragged to Jabba.
Leah was being dragged away, but she lost all her focus when she saw Han. He was there!
"Han!" She shouted his name in happiness.
Han jumped up in surprise as he was being dragged away towards Luke and Leah. He moved his head around, trying to see. Leah frowned in alarm and confusion. Could he ... not see?
"Leah!" He shouted.
"Are you alright?" Luke asked.
"Fine. Together again, huh?"
"Wouldn't miss it!" Leah and Luke answered at the same time.
"How are we doing?"
"Uh ... About the same as always?" Leah shrugged.
"That bad, huh?" Han sarcastically asked.
"Hey, where's Qi'ra?"
"She's the one who put you there, and yet, the first thing you ask for?" She snapped.
"Hey!" He whined in response.
"I'm here." Qi'ra suddenly said.
They all turned to the voice. Han narrowed his eyes, trying to see, but it wasn't working. Leah groaned in disgust when she saw how Qi'ra was being stroked like a pet. She may have hated her, but ... this really was too much.
But one question. Why wasn't she being treated like that? She, too, was a woman. Why wasn't Jabba taking advantage of that? He was basically treating her like a man, or at least no different than the others.
"Jabba." Leah hissed.
"Oh, la uba ... Skywalker." Jabba said in Huttese as he 'smiled'.
[Oh, there you are ... Skywalker.]
Leah tried to hide her shock and surprise with a frustrated smile. How the hell did he figure out who she was? Was that why he didn't 'mistreat' her? Because he was afraid of her?
"Kava do uba know coo jee am?" She demanded in Huttese.
[How do you know who I am?]
"Jee have heard du lott storees ooout ta nearless bukee ov Anakin Skywalker. Uba bu ta oop koochoo coo woot reezk shash banto bee-bee beet Bantha." He growled as he glanced at Han.
[I have heard a lot of stories about the fearless child of Anakin Skywalker. You are the only idiot who would risk her life for this Bantha.]
"Hey!" Han shouted in defense, still trying to see.
"An... oid Uba oom-addee tinka Jee woot chuba oom-membah uba? Jee woot oom-cognize da-ha eieez aaniware." Jabba mused as he smiled venomously.
[And ... did you really think I would not remember you? I would recognize those eyes anywhere.]
Leah's face remained as cold as a stone. She was filled with anger ... just like her father was when he brought her to Tatooine on a Jedi business. She never understood why Anakin hated Jabba so much ... until she learned that her father was his slave.
3PO's 'face' became distraught when he was asked to translate something Jabba told him. Technically, everyone in the room spoke Huttese, so there was no need for translation. Han, Leah and Luke lived at Tatooine one point or another.
"Oh, dear. his High Exaltedness, the great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to be terminated immediately." He said with 'sadness' in his voice.
"Good. I hate long waits." Han confidently joked.
"You will therefore be taken to the Dune Sea and cast into the pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of the all-powerful Sarlacc." 3PO translated.
"Doesn't sound so bad." Han muttered to Luke, but when 3PO finished his sentence, he lost all his humor.
"In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as you are slowly digested over a thousand years."
"On second thought, let's pass on that, huh?" He sarcastically offered as Chewie roared in agreement.
"You should have bargained, Jabba. That's the last mistake you'll ever make." Luke strongly warned him.
Although they weren't expecting that, it still worked to their plan, which was to get Jabba angry enough to leave the palace, but not so angry that he simply ordered them shot." This is the riskiest part of his plan, but it's also been his intention from the start. Luke's reaction warning was not arrogance, desperation, or stupidity, but confidence. Because he knew that they'd already won.
"You will regret this." Leah threatened in a dangerous way.
"Jee keetah kava azalus an peesha uba. Uba aree chuba wurtz oolaying dee boonkee foo. An, jee woot shulu oom-warded bee ta Empire if jee shouoet hoohah do uta-sha." Jabba stated, replying to Leah's cold face.
[I know how dangerous and powerful you are. You are not worth playing around with. Besides, I would be rewarded by the Empire if I showed them your head.]
The time of the execution was approaching. Jabba and Qi'ra were watching the whole thing from his ship floating in the sky. Laetitia, Luke, Han, Chewie and Lando were on a Skiff, being delivered to the Sarlaccs.
"I think my eyes are getting better. Instead of a big dark blur, I see a big light blur!" Han said.
"There's nothing to see. We used to live here, you know." Leah replied tiredly, focusing on the plan.
"And now, you're gonna die here, you know ... Convenient." He snipped with a bitter hint in his voice.
Leah turned to him with a look. She rolled her eyes in response. Two seconds in, she was already wishing he was gone again!
"Just stay close to Luke, Lando and Chewie. I've taken care of everything." She ordered as she looked ahead.
"Sure. Anything else?"
"Yeah. Shut up! I'm trying to think." She snapped at him.
"Don't worry. Doing something the first time is always hard." He shot back.
Leah opened her mouth to say something. She had to stop herself from punching him in the nose. She also noticed Luke and Chewie smile from behind. Why were they enjoying this?!
"You're an ass." She stated angrily.
"Oof! Good to see you're still hormonal." Han said, smiling.
Leah visibly flinched in pain when she heard his comment. He didn't know she wasn't pregnant anymore. Her baby was away ...
"That brings me to 'you shouldn't have come for me when your uterus is occupied'! I mean, I'm flattered that you couldn't wait, but ..."
"Han! I'm not pregnant ... not anymore." She whispered to stop him.
Han moved his head in surprise and confusion. He tried to find her, but he was still unable to see her face.
"What? You already ..."
Yeah." Leah quickly answered to stop him.
Lando still didn't know Leah was pregnant in the first place. She preferred to keep it that way. She still didn't know if she could trust him.
"But you were only in your 4th month when Choke-y grabbed me. Did I time-travel to the future? I've only been gone a day!" He stated.
"No. You ... Han, you were in the Carbonite for 9 months." Leah quietly corrected her brother, but the correction did not calm him down.
"9 MONTHS! Are you freaking kidding me?!" Han shouted.
"Like you said, I had to wait until 'my uterus was no longer occupied'." She replied tiredly.
"Fair ... where is he?"
"I'm not supposed to say. No one knows that I ... you know." Leah vaguely said, which Han agreed with a nod.
"Okay ... How is he? Just answer that." He begged. He needed to know.
Leah smiled to herself. She was happy to think about her daughter whenever it was, whatever situation she was in. She was truly grateful for her child ... even though she wasn't with her.
"'He' is a 'she'. And she's ..." She paused to find the words.
"You know, I didn't think I could do it. Part of me thought 'what if I have this baby and just finally die?' I would be rid of all the pain, probably meet mom and Thexan again ... But then, she came, I held her in my arms, saw her face, and ... I saw him in her. She has his blue eyes ... She's beautiful." Leah whispered as she wiped the tears off her face.
Han didn't need to see her face to see that Leah was in pain. The way her voice broke at the end was ... He just put his hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"Can't wait to see her." He smiled. He would joke about anything but his niece.
"You just wait to see your own steps." Leah joked as she stiffened.
"You're a ..." Han tried to snap at her, but Luke stopped both of them.
"Guys, as much as I'm enjoying this, we're here. So maybe just press 'pause' on the bickering until we're out of here?" He whispered to them.
"Oh, hey, Luke! Been a minute. Or should I say 'it's been 9 months'?!" Han snapped at him.
"Don't worry, Han. You didn't miss much. Only that Leah gave my very-cute niece to her crazy brother-in-law." Luke bitterly whispered to him, actually directed at Leah.
He was still against the idea of Arcann and Senya raising Iliana. But again, what other choice did they have? He didn't know Iliana was hiding from both grandfathers, and not just one.
"WHAT?!" Han screamed loudly in surprise and rage.
"Uh ..."
"Isn't this nice?" A voice suddenly asked before Leah could answer..
Leah forced a smile on her face as she turned around, already knowing who was behind her. She'd recognize a Clone's voice even if she was asleep. Would Boba Fett be any different?
"Laetitia Skywalker. It is very nice to finally see you in person. I've heard a lot of things about your ... Darth Vader." He taunted her.
Leah fisted her hands in anger. Was he making fun of her because he knew who her father was? Who their father was?
"All great things, I'm sure. In fact, so great that you tried to kill me 8 years ago." Leah stated.
"You remember that?"
"Sorry. I hold grudges ... especially ones that involve hurting the people I love." She hatefully said.
"Right. Yeah, I heard about that. He was actually in love with you. Poor bastard ... But you two idiots actually got married? How long did that last?" He mused, already knowing the answer.
Leah was about to throw her punch in anger, but Luke beat her to it. He would punch him in the nose, but the armor he was wearing was his shield. So he swiped his leg and made Boba trip on the ground. Leah raised her eyebrow. It was good to see he was defending his sister's honor and heart. But ...
"Shut your mouth." He hissed.
Boba looked up to the blond boy in surprise. He could already feel the taste of blood in his mouth. He just stood up, rage filling him.
"And who are you?"
"I thought it was your job to know people. How can you not recognize me?" Luke asked.
Boba smiled under his helmet. But Leah was worried. Boba Fett was no idiot. She knew he was seconds away from figuring out who Luke really was ... and telling Vader about him.
What could she do?
"You've changed a lot since I saw you on Bepsin. Then, you didn't have the courage to fight and made your friend get captured. Has anything changed since then?" Boba taunted her.
Before Luke could answer, Leah pushed them away from each other. Enough was enough.
"Don't let him get to you, Luke. He hates the Jedi ... Mace Windu, to be exact." Leah taunted back as she changed the direction of the conversation.
To say that Fett was angry when he heard Windu's name was ... putting it lightly. He was enraged to hear that. She knew exactly why he hated him ... and that was why she used it.
"Why?" Luke asked, not knowing the story.
"She already knows." Boba hissed in anger.
"What, you gonna say 'cause he didn't apologize to you? Or that he killed your 'daddy'? Well, get in line! He didn't treat me any better, either. I just don't whine about it like a little brat!" Leah snapped at him.
Leah smiled in satisfaction when Boba grabbed her by the collar. Her plan to make him emotional and unbalanced was working. She moved her head near him. Her breath was leaving marks on his mask.
"But hey, I'm at the advantage 'cause my dad killed him." She quietly said for Luke to not hear.
When he heard that, Boba let her go immediately. He already knew that, but how did she figure it out? If she didn't already know, she wouldn't have said anything.
"You know, Boba, almost 20 years have passed, and you still haven't changed one bit. You still whine for your daddy." Leah stated, remembering how he tried to kill Windu and Anakin back in the Clone Wars.
"I'm not a fan of Mandalorians, but you are a disgrace to the armor that you're wearing. Don't you feel ashamed when you see any of them?"
"This armor belonged to my father." Boba defended himself.
"Don't you mean your donor?" Leah pointed out sharply.
She was having enough of hearing how he called Jango Fett his 'father'. He wasn't his actual father. She understood where he was coming from, but still. It was a bit too much.
"Careful, Princess." He threatened her coldly.
"Or what? You're a Clone, buddy. I've heard your voice a million times. I practically grew up with that voice." She stated.
"Well, mine will be the last one you ever hear."
Leah just smiled as Boba Fett walked away from them. Now, he would forget anything he heard about Luke or Iliana. He was too consumed in his own anger that he would forget anything.
"Why did you do that? It's not smart to set him off." Luke whispered.
"That's exactly what I want."
"What?"
"Make sure he doesn't leave here alive." She quietly ordered.
Luke blinked in surprise, but he didn't protest. He didn't have the time, and he knew that Leah had a reason for wanting him dead. The Skiff stopped when they reached the pit. Leah could clearly see the hungry Sarlacc that was looking forward to eating all of them.
"Victims of the almighty Sarlacc, his Excellency hopes that you will die honorably. But should any of you wish to beg for mercy, the great Jabba the Hutt will now listen to your pleas." 3PO announced.
Leah scoffed under her breath. Did Jabba not know her at all? She would die before she begged anyone. Han stepped forward arrogantly to speak up for all of them.
"3PO, you tell that slimy piece of ... worm-ridden filth he'll get no such pleasure from us." He confidently said.
He turned to the others to make sure he said the right thing. He knew Leah had a plan, but he still didn't like the death glare she was giving Jabba and himself.
"Right?" He unsurely asked to make sure.
Chewie growled his agreement and Luke nodded. Leah took a step forward.
"Jabba! This is your last chance. Free us or die." She warned him seriously.
She wasn't angry, although she was disgusted by that ... animal. She was merely stating the truth. She knew that there was no way Jabba would walk out of here alive.
Lando moved unobtrusively along the Skiff as Leah shot him a quick look of conspiracy. Their plan was working. She could also see R2 appear from below and zips over to the rail facing the pit.
Below in the Skiff, Lea was forced by a guard to the edge of the Skiff over the Sarlacc. She looked up at R2 as she gave him a slight salute. That was the signal the little droid has been waiting for. The one he always had with his previous master, Anakin Skywalker.
Once he got the signal, a flap opened in R2's domed head. When Leah heard Jabba shout in Huttese to put her in, she jumped off the Skiff as the bloodthirsty audience cheered for her death.
But before anyone could even understand what was happening, she spun around and grabbed the end of the Skiff by her fingertips. In midair, she immediately did a complete flip and dropped down on the end of the plank in the same spot she just vacated, but facing the Skiff.
She suddenly held up an open palm, expecting something ... her lightsaber. R2 had sent it throwing toward her, which dropped into her hand. Leah immediately ignited her lightsabers as it touched her hand and attacked the guards.
Their plan was working. They were getting out of there.
Once the others were safely getting away, Laetitia parted ways with them to go back for Qi'ra. She originally wanted to go, but when Han asked her, she couldn't say 'no'. As much as she hated her ... Han was in love with Gold-digger.
She didn't want to hurt him like that. She, better than anyone else, knew what it was like to lose the love of their life. She didn't want Han to go through the same thing ... even if that 'love' was Qi'ra.
She checked every place in the Palace to look for Jabba. When she suddenly felt something in the Force, Leah jumped into the room and found Jabba dragging Qi'ra by her chains.
A sense of anger and hatred passed over her. Seeing how he was treating Qi'ra made her feel disgusted as a woman ... and as a daughter. Was that how her father was treated for 9 years of his life? Only to be trapped in the Jedi's lies? ... And be abandoned by his own daughter after he tried to escape those lies?
Was Anakin always suffering like this?
Leah lost focus of her anger. Her mind was so unfocused that her Force-illusion was disappearing. Even Jabba stopped as his yellow eyes were fixed on Leah. She suddenly threw her lightsabers at Qi'ra.
"Free yourself. Now!" Leah ordered.
Qi'ra nodded in desperation as she grabbed the lightsaber. She watched as Leah ran behind the Hutt to be out of his sight.
Jabba tried to move, but Leah quickly took the chains in her hands and placed it around his 'neck'. She struggled against Qi'ra's chains in desperation as she began choking him. As the Hutt tried to free himself, it gave Leah all the more reason to choke him tighter.
After a few minutes, when Jabba was no longer moving, Laetitia let go of the chains. His dead body fell on the ground, flinching for one last time. She took a deep breath to calm herself down. Although she just killed someone out of anger, she wasn't feeling angry at the moment.
She was just ... empty ... guilty.
The whole time, Qi'ra was frozen as she was staring at the whole thing. She knew Leah was dangerous, when she was and wasn't angry, but that was ... scary. The whole thing was a scary thing to watch. It took away her ability to breathe.
When she got a hold of herself, Leah ran quickly to Qi'ra, who was staring at her in horror. Qi'ra had tried to free herself from the chains, but the lightsabers were too hot in her hands when activated.
How did Leah hold them like they were as cool as rock?
"Come on. We gotta get out of here quick!" Leah said as she lead Qi'ra away to get out of there.
Done :)
