Chapter 192

.

Note: Chase Graves is from 'Izombie" Xavier and Magneto are from the "Xmen movies, doctor Doom isn't from a specific world, just the general doctor Doom from a non-descript version of "Fantastic Four."

.

The Ambassador met with members of the Council, and assorted other leaders in Antarctica. Among them were Doctor Doom, Charles Xavier, Magneto, Chase Graves. They had different ideas, but the Ambassador hoped that this meeting could help resolve these differences and work together against their common enemy.

.

Doom: My plan would create a place in Antarctica where any refugee from Hell, or from this world, would be welcome.

Ambassador: And I supposse you would be in charge?

Doom: I can only hope. Under the provisional government I would be a part of this government, until we can hold elections. I don't deny that I want power, but I also want what's best for my people. We would assimilate these refugees, help train them for the final battle against Evil. If we have trouble with overpopulation or trouble assimilating them, that would be our problem.

Magneto: This sounds good, in theory. But I still want a seperate homeland for mutants.

Doom: If you felt the need to forcibly expell non mutants, they would be welcome in my world.

Xavier: This does sound fair, but I'd like to oversee this personally, make sure everyone's rights are protected.

Magneto: That's fair, you are one of the few people that all sides trust. As for Chase Graves, we are all aware that you are trying to suppress the influx of refugees from Hell.

Chase: Those accusations are unfounded.

Magneto: My point is, would your allies be willing to stop this, if the burden for taking in refugees fell to myself and the good doctor?

Chase: My friends, the more moderate ones, are worried about alien refugees living in their countries. If you could make a real effort to show that you are keeping your people in your own borders, they'd back off. But there are extremists who will never stop trying to wipe all of us out. Some of them are not exactly shy about this opinion.

Xavier: I've noticed.

Chase: But others are more covert, they're the ones we should all worry about.

Ambassador: Agreed. We should also discuss the alliance with America and other countries. We have to work out the details, but the fact is we all have a common enemy right now.

Magneto: In regard to specifics, I'd like to discuss the status of certain prisoners being held for unauthorized rescue missions.

Chase: What did you have in mind?

Magneto: Offer them amnesty, in exchange for living in Dr Doom's new state. If they are mutants they will be given the option of living in the mutant state.

Chase: I have to admit, that sounds fair.

.

The Ambassador was relieved. It seemed that these leaders had agreed, at least in principle, how to peacefully resolve their biggest differences. There were other things to work out, but with immigration and amnesty out of the way, it seemed that they were all dedicated to this peace agreement.
