Hey, readers, just popping in for a few to let you know that this story is getting close to being finished as I only plan on having twelve more chapters after this one. I do plan on having a sequel to this and will reveal more details in the future. Enjoy!
SmackDown Filming: October 23, 2012
I look at Randy. "Do you want me to go with you since you're opening promo tonight?"
Randy shook his head. "No, I think you should worry about yourself and your own issues leading into Hell in a Cell for tonight. Can you do that?"
"I should be able to do that, Randy."
"Good, you should do exactly that then. You have been acting a little off today anyway. If I could possibly get my way, which I know I wouldn't have been able to, I'd be making you stay at the hotel."
"What do you mean I'm acting a little off today?"
"You just seem off. You've not been eating very much. You've been very quiet. You haven't really tried to get me to do anything with you before coming to work today. That's not you."
I shrug. "I've been having cramps."
"Cramps from what?"
"I don't know. I've just been having cramps."
"Did you eat something that didn't agree with you?"
"Maybe, I can't even remember what I've really eaten though."
Randy sighed. "Should you maybe stay off of TV tonight then?"
"Maybe, I'm not sure if I should be on TV."
"You don't have to be. I can tell Booker that you aren't feeling the greatest."
"Thank you, Randy."
"Let me know if you do think that you might be sick."
"I will, but I probably just ate something that didn't agree with me."
"Okay, it could be worse, so I'll be glad if it's just that."
"Me too. I'm gonna be so bored tonight."
"Why would you be bored?"
"You'll be in the opening promo and probably wrestling later too. I'll just be sitting in here bored."
Randy laughed. "You'll be fine. I'll send Ted in here if I have to because I know you'll be overdramatic about being bored."
"I don't, but whatever, Randy."
"You do. I should go catch Ted now, so I can send him this way before going to guerilla."
I nod. "Alright. Thank you."
"No problem, sweetheart."
I looked at Ted as we sat in my locker-room, watching as the filming started. "Do you ever just feel really left out here at work?"
Ted smiles as he looks back at me. "I've been feeling like that a lot lately."
"You and me both. You had a great match with Antonio Cesaro last week though. I had one that ended with my trunks being held."
"My match was good, but I lost."
"Join the club."
"You were Divas Champion not too long ago though."
"Yeah, but how could I let Eve beat me so easily not once but twice?"
"Are you fully mentally still into your wrestling? It's just as much a mental game as it is physical."
"I know, but you're right. I don't think I am."
"Then, that's what you need to do to beat her."
"I know. If I don't win on Sunday, I'm gonna step away from the ring for a while."
"You said that before, and then you missed it."
"I think I'll still be on TV this time. I'm just gonna manage Randy."
"That's what you're going to do?"
"Yeah, for now. But if whoever the next general manager of Monday Night Raw is gets out of control, I might try to go settle that."
Ted laughs. "That sounds like Marissa Orton."
"Yeah, can I say something else?"
"I'm one of your best friends. Say whatever you want to say."
"I think I want to try for a baby again, but I don't know if Randy is ready to get back for that."
"Usually, I'd try to give you advice to help you out, but I don't think I can help you out there. That might be something to ask Chelle or John about."
"Maybe, I just know it was so hard on us last time."
"It was, but you both clearly want it. You'll just have to learn how to get through the hard stuff."
"I think you're right."
I looked at Randy as we sat together in our hotel room. "I'm sorry you lost tonight. Maybe things would've been different if I had been at ringside."
"There was no way I was gonna let you be at ringside tonight."
"I know. You were too worried about me."
"Believe me, sweetheart. I will always worry about you. Just let me worry."
"I won't stop you, Randy."
"I think you'll be just as worried about me."
"That's likely."
"I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact you might be stepping out of the ring for a while."
I laugh. "Well, I am. I am if not Divas Champion. I could use the break, Randy."
"Do whatever you decide to do, Rissa."
"I will. Plus, I don't think that you have any issues with the thought of me just being your manager."
"I don't have any issues with that."
"And you shouldn't. I'll make things work. I always make things work."
"You are going to return to wrestling at some point though, right?"
"Definitely, there's no way that I could walk away and retire right now."
"Okay, I just wanted to make sure that you and I were on the same page, Marissa."
"We are fully on the same page, Randy."
"Okay, if this match on Sunday at Hell in a Cell ends in a clean way where you don't win, you'll step away for a little while."
"Exactly."
Randy smiled. "I'm assuming you're going to still be going to therapy though, right?"
"Yeah, I think I'm starting to do better, but I still want to go for a while."
"That's fine. I'll repeat what I've been saying this whole time. I fully support whatever you decide to do."
"Thanks, I will once again set a record for most reigns with the Divas Championship if I win on Sunday."
Randy laughed. "That would be fantastic."
"Yeah, it would be. Remember what I said about not being able to fully trust you?"
"Uh…yes, why?"
"I'm over that. I fully trust you now."
Randy kissed my forehead. "That's good. You've got my full trust too."
