Raw: October 29, 2012

I look at Randy as soon as I enter our locker-room, where he'd already been. "I know that I'm supposed to be taking a break from competing, but I haven't told Vickie yet. She already scheduled a match for me tonight, so I'm going to take it."

Randy nodded. "Okay, who are you facing?"

"Beth Phoenix."

"Well no wonder you're keeping the match."

"I do like wrestling her, despite the fact that we're not getting along."

"I know. It sounds like a good opportunity to have a great match as your last match before taking a break."

"That's what I'm hoping for Randy. Do you have anything tonight?"

"I have a rematch with Wade Barrett."

"Can I go?"

"You want to go?"

"Yeah, it'll be fun."

"Alright, you can go, Rissa."

"Thanks, Randy."

"Just make sure that you're prepared for your own match as well, especially since it's against Beth."

"I will be, Randy. Don't worry."

"I'll always worry, Rissa. We've had that conversation."

"I know that, Randy. Just don't worry about me too much."

"I'll try my best. I hope you win tonight."

I smile at him as I grab my ring gear out of my bag. "I hope that I win too."

"I'm sure you will, Rissa. You're good at winning."

"That hasn't seemed to help me at all recently."

"Lighten up. You'll have a great match tonight, and then you'll be able to go on your break from competing without having to worry about anything."

"Hopefully that's how it'll be."

"Having second thoughts, Rissa?"

I start putting on my gear. "No, I'm just hoping that nothing goes wrong. In this business, it's hard for things not to go wrong most of the time."

"No kidding. I'm sure you'll be fine though, Rissa.

"I hope I'm fine, Randy. I just want my last match for the time being to be a great match. I think Beth can give me that."

I hear voices in my head

They council me

They understand

They talk to me…

"And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Marissa, from Saint Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!"

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The two men lock up. Randy gets Wade into the corner before throwing Wade across the ring with an Arm Drag. Wade gets up, and Randy hits him with a couple of Clotheslines before hitting him with a Scoop Slam. Wade rolls to the apron, but Randy hit Wade with a Draping DDT. Randy goes for the RKO but Wade blocks it and hits Randy with a Tilt a Whirl Side Slam. Wade pins Randy.

1…2…kickout!

Wade goes to hit Randy with an elbow, but Randy avoids it and hits Wade with the RKO. Randy pins Wade.

1…2…3!

"Here is your winner, Randy Orton!"

I slid into the ring to raise Randy's arm in the air. "You didn't even need me."

Randy smirks at me. "It's always fun to have you out here though."

Randy pulls me into a kiss. Everything at that moment felt just right.

I look at Randy as we arrive in guerilla. "You did a good job. Congrats on the win. I'm going to go talk to Vickie Guerrero before I have to be back here in guerilla for my match."

Randy hugs me. "Okay, good luck. Let me know how it goes."

"Don't worry. I will."

"See ya in our locker-room."

I exit guerilla and head straight to Vickie Guerrero's office, immediately entering the office. "Hey, Vickie, I need to talk to you about something."

Vickie looks at me from her desk. "I'm not giving you another Divas Championship match."

"That's not what I'm here for."

"I'm not giving Randy a championship match either."

"I'm not here for that either."

Vickie gives me a confused look. "What are you here for then?"

"I'm here to tell you to not put me in any more matches after tonight until I have another conversation with you about putting me in matches."

"Why am I not putting you in any more matches?"

"Because I'm taking a break from competing and just sticking to being Randy's manager for a while. I've decided that's best for me for now."

"I understand. Man, this Divas division is taking a hit though. I heard about DJ Hardy through the grapevine."

I nod. "Yeah, I'm sure my break from competing isn't helping either."

"It's not, but that's your decision. Beth is leaving too. This is her last night. She wanted to face you in her last match."

"She did?"

"Yeah, she told me that she wanted the best competition for her last match, and she believed that was you."

"Oh, I didn't expect that from her."

"It's what she said."

"I'll have to thank her. I'm going to go prepare for my match. Thanks, Vickie."

"No problem." Vickie replies as I exit her office.

As I step into the hallway, I lock eyes with Eve. We both remain silent for a moment.

"You did good last night." I comment. "Congratulations."

Eve smiles at me. "Thanks. You gave me a good fight last night."

"Thank you. Listen, after my match with Beth tonight, I'm just gonna stick to being Randy's manager for a while, and apparently Beth herself is leaving. I hope you hold that Divas Championship for a while. There aren't that many girls who can keep up these days."

"Thanks. I'll see you around. Good luck against Beth tonight."

"Thanks. See ya around." I stand and watch as Eve walks down the hallway.

("Glamazon" plays)

"The following Divas match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Buffalo, New York, the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!"

I know I want that girl so bad

I lie awake at night

And think of all the things that I would do

With a girl like that…

"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, the Queen of Chaos, Marissa Orton!"

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Beth and I look at each other, and without speaking, I believe we both realized that this random match on Raw was just as important to both of us as our Divas Championship and Women's Championship matches at pay per views in the past. However, only we knew that, and the fans didn't have a single clue about what was going on with me or Beth.

Beth and I lock up. She does a standing switch to grab me from behind, but I elbow her in the face. I headbutt Beth before throwing her in the corner before punching her a few times. I go for a Running Knee, but Beth moves out of the way. I hit the ring post. Beth grabs me by my hair before throwing me into the middle of the ring. Beth pins me.

1…kickout!

Beth immediately gets me in a Headlock. I struggle, but I elbow her in the ribs to force myself to escape. I run at Beth, but she catches me with a Spinebuster. Beth pins me.

1…kickout!

Beth picks me up for a Glam Slam, but I elbow her to escape from her. I hit Beth with a Clothesline. When she gets up, I kick her in the gut before grabbing her. I rebound off the ropes to hit her with a Tornado DDT. I pinned Beth.

1…2…kickout!

I hit Beth with a Running Knee. When she starts to get up, I hit her with a Belly to Belly Suplex. I stomp on Beth before going for another Running Knee. Beth moves to avoid before rolling me into a pin.

1…2…kickout!

Beth grabs me and kicks me in the gut before lifting me up and hitting me with a Glam Slam. Beth pins me once again.

1…2…kickout!

Beth grabs me, but I elbow her and get out of her grasp. I slap Beth across the face before kicking her in the gut. I lift Beth up and hit her with the Picture Perfect. I pin Beth.

1…2…kickout!

I stomp on Beth. I grab her and throw her on the apron to go hit her with Randy's Draping DDT, but she escapes from my grasp. Beth bounces my head off of the top turnbuckle before climbing back in the ring. Beth hits me with a hard Clothesline before grabbing me and hitting me with another Glam Slam. Beth pins me once again.

1…2…kickout!

We both get up, and Beth goes for another Clothesline. I duck and slap her across the face. I rebound off of the ropes and hit Beth with a Shoulder Tackle. When Beth gets up, I kick her in the gut before hitting her with the Chaotic Ending. I pin Beth.

1…2…3!

"Here is your winner, Marissa Orton!"

I smiled as the referee raised my arm in the air. This was definitely a way that I could accept going out on.

I look over as Beth starts to get up. We locked eyes as we both looked at each other. Beth gets up as we both continue to look at each other. I extend a hand to Beth. She looked at me with concern, but she decided to shake my hand. We both smile at each other before she leaves me alone in the ring. I take a bow in the ring before following Beth backstage.

I look at Beth once I arrive in guerilla. "Hey, good job out there. Good match."

Beth smiles at me. "Thanks. I asked for that match actually. I don't know if you heard anything about me leaving, but I am. Today is my last day. I couldn't think of a better way to go out. I'm not even mad that I lost."

"I actually heard from Vickie that today was your last day. I'm really glad that you were happy with the match."

"I really was. Since I'm not going to be around, you ought to hold things down now. These newer girls have nothing on our era."

"Actually, this is my last match for a while too. I wanted a break from competing, so I'm just gonna stick to managing Randy for now."

"I see. Between you and me, you were always my favorite person to wrestle. Good luck with everything."

"Thanks. You too."

"Maybe since we won't be wrestling each other anymore, we will actually get along now." Beth laughs. "See you whenever I see you."

"See you around."
