Family of Two.

Chapter 209: The Funeral and the Move.

(Lewis Estate in Fresno California.)

The time has come and so the stage has been set, and a dropship arrives and it makes its way to the mansion where the whole funeral is gonna be made and prepared.

This is the funeral to the oldest man within the Lewis family, and the man who made the Lewis family name into an empire within the areas of California, now that man is gone and this is a time for mourning.

As tradition states, the Lewis elderly will be buried within the catacombs not too far from the Lewis Estate, which also neighbors the town's funeral for the other townsfolk, and now Bernardo Kennedy Lewis will join his relatives in the afterlife.

The rest of the Lewis's have shown up, and are all discussing about the mansion and what might happen to is and to the one who now owns it, and all of them do not like where this will all go down.

But, none of them are to set foot into the mansion, the loyal soldiers who are good friends to Bernard and his brothers are on guard and if those people need to use it, then go to the god damn outhouses that they rented out.

The man in charge of the whole vanguard is none other than Archer L.M. Churin. He was there during the Lewis Family reunion and is an ally and guard to the man who is now gone, and now he serves the son of the deceased man.

The family all look up and they spot the dropship arrive and everyone who is dressed in black looks as it opens and coming out are the folks they did not want to see or have them there.

Luna Loud and her son, Lincoln Loud, Albert Willard and his sweetheart, Myrtle. Lucy Shapiro and Harriet Willard and last but not least, Michelle Lewis Loud and her adopted daughter, Delilah Lewis Loud. All of them are dressed in black clothing, though Harriet has been dressed like that for a long time.

They all have heard the rumors and the rumors are true, Michelle has adopted someone, someone who they see doesn't deserve to be given the last name. Yet, they can do nothing since Michelle is the mother to this 13-year old girl who lost so much.

The rest of the family is disgusted by this, but there are others who are not and they are Michelle's family who she trusts the most.

Her uncle, Bernardo Kennedy B. Lewis or Bernie for short and his wife Alexandra with their infant son little Bernie, her granduncles Edgar M. Lewis and Joey L. Lewis.

They all go over and greet them. "We're so glad you guys came and we're so sorry for this day which had to come" said Joey.

"Yeah, it is and…. I don't know how else I'm supposed to move on from this." Michelle wipes away some tears, she knows that she's going to say goodbye to someone she has seen as family, someone who still sees her as family. "But, he would want me not to see this day of mourning as a weakness."

"But to see it as a way to show that even when he's gone, he'll always be there for us when we need him the most and that change is here and we all need to adapt to it. I know I have, and I'm still going through so much change."

"And he would be dang proud of how far you've come" said Bernie. He then looks to Delilah. "Are you alright child?"

Delilah nods. "Y-Yeah, I am. This is… Well, I don't even know what else to think of this. I wanna go and meet the family but…" She sees the other family glaring at her. "They don't seem to like me."

Michelle pulls her daughter close to her and she casts a glare to the other Lewis's as well. Edgar, Joey and Bernie sees this and sighs in disappointment.

"We're sorry, they don't seem to trust everything you do Michelle" replied Bernie.

"We've been trying to get them to calm down and accept this" said Edgar.

"But nothing works" said Joey. "They will never change, and I fear they may pass this on to their children and then to their children's children and it might not go so well for you and Delilah."

"Then they'll have to get through us first" said Albert sternly. "They might cast her out, well then they got another thing coming. Because the family Michelle has made is not just us, but those back in Royal Woods. We're all her family and they can just well… Suck on it."

Edgar chuckles. "Nice, D Generation X slogan. You watch WWE?"

Albert chuckles. "From time to time."

They decide to let Albert speak with the elderly brothers and even Myrtle interacts with them. The old folks are getting along nicely.

Bernie looks towards Michelle. "Later, you will give out your speech and I know it's going to be something the rest of us will be truly proud of."

Michelle nods. "It will be and I know Bernardo will hear this, and will understand how much he means to me, and with you and the others as the only family I can truly trust."

Bernie nods and he looks to Lincoln who is feeling uneasy and Luna who is not looking so calm. Bernie sees the younger Lewis's eying them. The very same ones from the Lewis family reunion.

"Guys, no need to worry. They won't cause any trouble while the security is here and if they do, then they will be kicked out of here and never are to set foot onto this land ever again."

Luna sighs. "And what's why we brought them."

They all hear some roaring sounds and they spot some high-speed aircraft flying around, they then stop and lands down and transform into their mech modes and act as heavy-duty guards to the Louds.

They're Terran Dominion Viking Fighters/Assault Walkers, and they mean business and are straight from FutureTech.

The rest of the Lewis family is shocked by this and they all back away at the size of these things. The guards are impressed and the man leading them just says. "Bloody hell. I have got to get me one of those."

The rest of the Lewis family are: Oscar and Emily, Arthur, Danny, Cassie, Ellody, Frederick, Gloria and Hanson, Irwin, James and Kent, Melody, Samuel, London, Quinn, Nathan, Rodney, Oscar, Parker, Tyrone and Vincent.

Lucy smiles to see the surprised and startled looks from the other Lewis family. "Looks like they have nothing else to say. So, when does the service begin?"

(Later.)

They are all at the Lewis catacombs and are ready to seal the coffin of the elderly Lewis into the place. They all give some words to speak about the man who made the Lewis name great.

Yeah, well not all the Lewis' were given the chance to speak, since the will also state that none of them are to speak a word about this moment, if they are to treat Michelle as an outcast then they shall be outcasted from the words they wish to speak.

This angers the rest of the Lewis's that they're deceased grandfather would do this to them.

So, the ones who are allowed to speak about this event would have to be Bernie, Edgar and Joey, yeah just them and that's it. But, also someone else.

Eventually, it was time for Michelle Lewis to take the stage and so she does and she looks upon those who didn't ever think of her as family, but she looks to those who do still see her as family.

Michelle looks to her Loud family who all nod, that she has to do this and then Delilah smiles. "Go mom, Great Grandpa Bernardo would want you to say something."

Michelle nods and so she goes forth onto the stage and she sees the mean looks she's getting from the rest of the Lewis family, but she just shrugs it off and looks to those who are and still see her as a Lewis.

"You know, I never thought that… Never thought that I would be doing this. I didn't think that this would've ever happened and I thought that by some chance, I would still see him again and show him how much time was lost from the wasted time I had with my damned career."

"But, things don't go as planned and nothing goes the way it should be, even if you try your hardest to show others that you are changed and that you regret so much, just as I regret not being there for my parents and saying how much they mean to me for trying to raise me into a good girl, which I failed to be."

"And yet, they still loved me and wouldn't ever shun me out, so with me being here and getting this chance… Thank you mom and dad, thank you for rising me and helping me on the path that I started and even though I didn't acknowledge you two before, I wish I could take it back and spend more time with the both of you."

"I just wish there was more time, but there wasn't and now you're both gone and I'll never see you two again, but someday I will and we will be family again…" She then looks to Delilah. "And with another in tow, someone who I see myself within, someone who I will be there because like me, she lost so much and I won't fail her."

Delilah sheds a tear and smiles at how her mom speaks about her.

Michelle then continues to speak and she looks to the coffin with her deceased grandfather. "Goodbye, Grandpa Bernie. So long and… And don't let my dad beat you in bowling up there." That one they all know about and all chuckle.

Michelle then comes down from the stage and she looks to the body of Bernardo and she sheds some tears. This will be the very last time she sees this man in the world of the living, and now he will be sent off to be amongst those of the past before him.

Soon, everyone watches as some of the guards place the coffin into the catacombs and then they leave and seal the door.

Michelle sighs and looks to the sky, then Delilah holds her hand. "It's gonna be okay mom, Bernardo will be watching us, always."

"And we'll be here to help you get through this." Lincoln, Luna, Harriet, Lucy, Albert and Myrtle stand by her side, and they all smile and feel her pain.

Michelle nods and she smiles and goes down to hug Delilah. "I'm glad I found a new family, one that I can truly care for and love, and I won't make the same mistake again. That's a promise."

(Later.)

With the service now done, everyone meets back at the Lewis Estate, they see that Michelle is speaking with Edgar, Joey and Bernard Jr. They don't know what they're talking about, but it seems serious and something they might not like.

"So, did you speak with the mayor?" asked Michelle.

"We did and he said it would be a good idea to turn this lovely estate into a park, and named after the man who founded this place" said Joey.

"The mayor is impressed at the kindness that you are bringing to the town and to the people. He wishes to reward you with something, but he knows that you wouldn't want anything in return but to see this place put to good use" said Edgar.

Michelle chuckles. "Well, I did knew Solomon in High School and I am damn proud of him for being mayor, he still knows me from my old ways and I know the good folks of Fresno will love this new park."

They look onto the large land that Michelle now owns and now she's letting the town own it. "This land hasn't been touched by anyone but the family, well now the change is here and the good folks of this town deserve a new place to enjoy themselves and feel like a close and good family."

Just then they see the rest of the Lewis family go towards them, but the guards stand fast and stand ready. Oscar speaks. "Michelle, this is ridiculous and insane and we won't stand for this. That mansion belongs to the Lewis family name and you are not a Lewis!"

"He's right, you are no longer a Lewis and you must give the mansion back to the proper owners of this building and that's the rest of us!" said Emily.

Michelle smirks. "Wow. Well, looks like everyone here are showing their damned true colors." She claps and so does Bernie. "You know, I always thought that I would one day see the rest of you as family, just as Bernardo showed that he still saw me as family, but after what you guys did to me long ago… I guess not."

Michelle then looks to Bernie, Edgar and Joey. "Well, I think it's time we take our leave then."

Edgar nods. "We hope to see you again soon Michelle, and take care of the mansion."

"We will" replied Delilah. She looks onto the large home. "A place like this deserves to be treated with respect and love, and we won't fail this one. We got this handled." She goes over and hugs Edgar, and then she goes over to hugs Joey and then Bernie. "I'm gonna miss seeing you guys."

"Farewell child" said Joey. "You're a smart and tough girl and we know you will grow up into a strong woman."

"Farewell kiddo" said Bernie. "When we do meet again, then we can see if you and my son can enjoy some bonding time."

"We will truly miss you." Edgar looks to Michelle and the rest from Royal Woods. "Farwell, and do stay together. Family is truly important and this family is something that means so much to you. They helped you see a better change in life, and I know you will change for the better."

Michelle nods. "I have, and I still am." Michelle then looks to the sky and she sees this man in a tech suit and he takes off at great speed through a portal. "Alright, this is it. Guys, in the mansion now and get ready."

Lincoln, Luna, Albert, Myrtle, Harriet, Lucy and Delilah head into the mansion and so does Michelle, but she looks back and waves to Edgar, Joey, Bernie, Alexandra and their son. "Till we meet again guys."

She heads into the mansion, the rest of the Lewis family are confused by this.

The dropship that came earlier has taken off with the Viking fighters and the guards bail from the mansion and they all keep the rest of the Lewis family at bay.

Then they all hear this voice.

Warning: A Chronosphere has been activated.

They see this blue energy engulf the entire mansion and this shocks the rest of the Lewis family, and fascinates the Lewis' who are in on the plan. They are impressed and in a flash, the Mansion is gone!

Leaving only a large patch of dirt, even the basement is no longer there. The front door, the porch and everything else the mansion had was no longer there. As if it were transported someplace else.

Oscar looks towards Edgar. "Father, what the hell just happened?!"

Edgar chuckles. "The mansion is with its rightful owner and in good hands." He then goes back to his limo, Joey, Bernie and Alexandra with their son do the same and go back to their ride.

The rest of the Lewis famiwy call them out, but the vehicles drive off.

The guards do the same and head into their rides and follow them.

The rest of the Lewis family are now confused and some of them are cursing at what has happened, and what has come to the mansion of the Lewis family name.

But then they see some construction workers, and some cops. They're all confused by what was going on.

Then Mayor Solomon shows up wearing a construction hat and looks to the rest of the Lewis family. "Ya'll need to get going now. We were told that this land now belongs to the town, and we're planning to begin building."

"Building what?" asked Oscar.

Solomon smirks. "Why, the M. B. Lewis Park of course. Now get lost, we don't need no family shunners here."

The cops show up and they are many, and they begin to escort the rest of the Lewis family who all try to resist and talk them to leave the estate. But the lands now belong to the town.

Solomon chuckles and he looks to the sky and sees the high speed aircraft taking off. 'Thank you Bernardo, and thank you Michelle Lewis. Have fun with the new life you have, in Royal Woods, Michigan.'

A/N: The funeral is done, Bernardo Sr will be missed, and as for the Lewis Grand Mansion? Well, we all know where that whole structure went off to. We'll see more about it on the next chapter. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
