Scorchingale Attacks

Melemele Island: Route 2

"Feather Darts!" Scorchingale plucked several of his feathers from his wings and made them into darts.

"Do us all a favor and accept your fate!" Scorchingale launched his flaming darts at Namasao, who were struck by the darts and collapsed.

"No, this is wrong. We should not have to harm others." Namasao protested

"Please! Only such a weakling like you would spout that nonsense!" Scorchingale said.

Scorchingale then launched a few fireballs at Namasao, hitting him dead-on.

Floraltox attempted to join in but was stopped by Scorchingale.

"Don't butt in, I can handle this by myself!" Scorchingale said, and Floraltox teleported away, seeing that there was nothing else for herself to do.

Then, Scorchingale continued attacking, while Namasao desperately tried to hold his ground.

"Uh, so what's happening here?" Chris asked.

"Well, the one that's being attacked, he was the one who made all the adults, including you guys, tired." Sophocles said.

"But somehow Lillie convinced him to stop his plans!" Lana said.

"Okay, so he's actually a pretty good guy, I take it?" Martin asked.

"I guess, but now he's getting attacked by who I'm guessing is supposedly his friend." Mallow said.

"I can't stand how they're all too willing to take out one of their own!" Kiawe said.

Scorchingale then sent a searing hot wind at Namasao, bringing him down to his knees.

"Quick! Snowy, use Hail, and then Aurora Veil!" Snowy brought down hail, then formed a veil of aurora around Namasao, which blocked Scorchingale's attack.

Scorchingale turned towards the heroes, but he paid them no mind and unleashed a spiral of fiery wind that stopped the hail and neutralized the Aurora Veil.

"No! Namasao!" Lillie said in worry.

"Electrode Burst!" Lillie changed into Electrode Burst form.

"Rollout!" Lillie rolled towards Scorchingale with great speed and power.

However, Scorchingale easily stopped her with just one arm and sent her rolling back with a blast of wind.

"Lillie, are you okay?" Gladion asked as he and the others checked on Lillie.

"I'm fine, but we have to help Namasao!" Lillie said.

"Sure. If you say he's a good guy, then I'll take your word for it." Ash said, and the others also agreed.

"Aegislash Burst!" Gladion's body became clad in golden armor, including a helmet that resembled Aegislash's hilt; two black, purple-tipped, thin cloths appeared from his shoulders; lastly, Aegislash's shield and a sword resembling Aegislash itself materialized for him to wield.

"Burst!" Ash and Lana used Burst with Greninja and Primarina respectively.

"Shaymin Burst! Machamp Burst! Muk Burst!" Mallow, Kiawe, and Sophocles changed into Burst forms of Sky Forme Shaymin, Machamp, and Alolan Muk.

"Activate Mythical Powers!" Chris and Martin activated Thunderbird and Dragon Powers respectively.

Scorchingale was about to strike Namasao again, but Gladion got in his way.

"King's Shield!" Gladion sheathed his sword and used his shield to form a barrier made of hexagonal shapes to defend Namasao.

"Water Shuriken! Sparkling Aria!" Ash and Lana hit Scorchingale with their Water moves.

"Air Slash!" Mallow blew out air blades at Scorchingale.

"Thunder Punch!" Sophocles and Kiawe hit Scorchingale with electrified punches.

"Shock Wave!" Lillie fired a blue beam of electricity at Scorchingale.

Chris and Martin fired a bolt of electricity and an icy breath at Scorchingale.

"So you fools really wanna get in my way? Alright then, bring it on!" Scorchingale declared as he shook off the attacks aimed at him.

"Sparkling Aria!" Lana sang to form a ball of water and made it burst, shooting out multiple bubbles at Scorchingale.

"Feather Darts!" Scorchingale released several feathers from his wings which all became darts to pop all the bubbles.

"Water Shuriken!" Ash took the Water Shuriken from his back and threw it at Scorchingale.

"Wing Blade!" Scorchingale toughened up his wing like a blade to deflect back the Water Shuriken.

"Seed Flare!" Mallow absorbed the pollutants from the air and then unleashed an explosion of bright green energy at Scorchingale.

"It's gonna take a lot more than that!" Scorchingale said as he shot a fireball to counter the attack.

"Swift!" Lillie sent out multiple yellow stars flying towards Scorchingale.

"Scorching Spin!" Scorchingale spun in place to stir up a flaming tornado to block.

"Gunk Shot!" Sophocles formed a bag of garbage in his hands and threw it at Scorchingale, who flew up to dodge.

"Dual Chop!" Kiawe moved in to strike with his arms, but Scorchingale dodged.

"Shadow Claw!" Gladion's sword glowed with a ghastly light as he moved in to

"Wing Blade!" Scorchingale toughened up his wing like a blade to parry Gladion's sword.

Chris and Martin then combined thunderbird electricity and dragon wind, forming a twister surrounded by electricity around Scorchingale.

When the twister cleared, Scorchingale fell on his knees and was seemingly worn down.

"Did we get him?" Chris asked, but then Scorchingale got up.

"Guess not," Martin said.

Scorchingale formed a giant fireball and sent it crashing on the ground, causing a big burst of flames that knocked them all back and undid the kids' Burst.

"See that? I wouldn't get up if I were you!" Scorchingale said.

"I won't give up!" Lillie said as she got up.

"No, Lillie. You and the others should stay out of this." Namasao asked.

"But I can't leave you behind!" Lillie said.

"Why go so far for that pathetic Namasao?" Scorchingale asked. "It would be a lot easier to just forget about him!"

"Because he's not like you!" Lillie declared. "Namasao is compassionate and understanding! I can't just stand back and let you hurt him!"

"And if that's what Lillie wants to do, then we're with her because that's what friends do!" Mallow said as she and the others got up as well.

"'Because that's what friends do?'" Namasao wondered.

"I'll enjoy putting you in your place!" Scorchingale said as he got ready to attack again.

However, he was stopped by Namasao, who started to fight him.

"So you decided to fight back? Bring it!" Scorchingale declared.

Scorchingale flew high before swooping down towards Namasao, who managed to repel him.

"Not bad, but can you handle this?" Scorchingale said as he produced a bigger fireball than before and launched it at Namasao, knocking him backward.

"It's all over now!" Scorchingale flew back and lit himself on fire before swooping back towards Namasao.

"Try this!" Namasao formed an orange energy ball and launched it point-blank at Scorchingale's chest, sending him flying backward.

"No! How could you do this to me!?" Scorchingale asked as he struggled to stand back up.

"By choosing to believe in friendship," Namasao responded.

"To think that I'd be defeated by the likes of you… unbelievable!" Scorchingale said as he collapsed before being consumed in an explosion.

"You did it, Namasao!" Lillie said as she joined his side.

"Yes, fighting to protect rather than under the command of another… that is truly a better purpose." Namasao said.

"But what are you gonna do now? You betrayed your former friends, and I'm sure they are not gonna let it slide."

Then, Goun suddenly appeared out of nowhere, to the heroes' surprise.

"Goun!?" the heroes said.

"So you have turned against him as well," Goun said.

"'As well?'" Mallow asked.

"I suppose there is no reason not to tell you… Just like Namasao, I was once also a servant of Malummox. However, I came to value the peace and harmony that exists here in the world of Pokémon. And knowing Malummox intended to destroy it, I betrayed him and managed to seal him away."Goun said. "If you hold any contempt for hiding this truth, feel free to voice them."

"Well, I admit, that's a shock, but we won't hold that against you!" Kiawe said.

"You're a good guy now, that's all that matters!" Lana said.

"Yeah, you helped us many times! We know we can trust you!" Ash said.

"In that case, thank you." Goun said then he turned towards Namasao. "Come, we should depart now, to prepare if Malummox should ever reawaken."

"Very well, I will. To protect all the beautiful things I have discovered in this world, and most of all, the things that those brave ones have shown me." Namasao said. "Young Lillie, thank you for opening my eyes."

"You're welcome. I hope you will be well." Lillie said.

Then, Goun and Namasao disappeared in a flash of light.

"Who would've thought it would end like this?" Sophocles said.

"Lillie, you were the real hero today." Gladion said.

"Yeah, you did great!" Chris said.

"Oh, well… I don't know what to say…" Lillie said.

"Just say thanks!" Martin suggested.

"Okay, thanks!" Lillie said, and everyone laughed.
