Fairy Tail received a surprise visit from Travis. He attempted to force Natsu to surrender, attempted to harm Nova if he does not. With the rest of the guild trapped in a barrier, Nashi awoke and saved her. Now, the two of them are facing Travis.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" Nashi tried to attack him, but Travis had fire around his own fist and blocked her attack. He swung his leg around and kicked Nashi back. Nova tried attacking him, but he blocked that attack as well. He blasted Nova with lightning and she was pushed back.
"I don't understand. Fire and lightning should have no effect on Nashi and Nova. Why are they?" Lucy questioned.
"It must have something to do with the type of magic he's using." Freed said. "However, from here, I can't tell what kind it is. We need a way out of this barrier."
"That's easier said than done." Zeref said. "This is a highly enchanted barrier." He looked towards the lacrima that was projecting the barrier. "Smashing that lacrima might be the only way to disable the barrier, but we're in here and it's out there. It might be up to the girls."
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Nashi breathed out fire and blasted Travis with it. However, Travis didn't appeared bothered by the flames as he jumped through.
"It's no good!" Travis called.
"How is he doing that?! Why isn't our attacks working on him?!" Nova said. Nashi paid attention to what he did and was starting to see something. Travis gathered flames and tossed them right on Nashi. "Nashi!" Nashi pushed through the flames herself.
"Now I get it." Nashi said. "You're using copy magic." Travis was surprised by her claims. "That's why our attacks aren't working. You're copying my fire and Nova's lightning."
"That's right." Travis said. "I know you two are dragon slayers. I can copy your magic perfectly. I use copy magic at an advance level, coping your magic exactly. Dragon slayers can't devour their own element."
"That's why our attacks aren't working." Nova said. "He's cancelling them out. Then again, he's also one of The Ten, a high ranked member."
"What I find strange is how you were able to figure it out so quickly." Travis said. "How did you do it?"
"I fought someone who uses copy magic like you. You're nothing compared to him!" Nashi said as she tried attacking him again. Nova joined her as they both tried to hit him, but Travis jumped between them and he split kicked the two of them. Travis placed his hands on the ground and twirled around as he smashed his legs against both girls.
"He also knows martial arts?" Nova said.
"Did you think I became the fourth ranked gate simply because of what type of magic I use?" Travis questioned.
"Damn you!" Nashi said as she tried hitting him again, but he flipped over her and kicked her right in the back. Nova tried blasting him with lightning, but Travis shot his own lightning and cancelled out Nova's.
'He's too fast, and too smart with the way he uses his magic.' Nova thought. She turned to the lacrima that traps the guild. 'I've got to get that lacrima and free the others.' She turned herself into lightning and went at it.
"No you don't." Travis said as he did the same. He cut her off come the lacrima and knocked her back.
"I just woke up and I'm already getting annoyed." Nashi said.
"We need to get that lacrima. It will bring down the barrier that's trapping everyone else." Nova said.
"As if I really would let that happen." Travis said. "What do you say, Natsu?" He asked as he looked at him. "are you ready to surrender? It's just going to get worse for these two."
"Not a chance. They'll beat you." Natsu said.
"Overconfident?" Travis said. "You really are a fool." Travis kept the attacks going as he flipped his way over to the girls. Nashi tried to hit him, but he jumped right over her. "Let's mix it up!" He used lightning instead of fire as he blasted Nashi with it. Nova tried to attack him again, but he blocked her lightning with fire. He spun himself around as he kicked Nova back.
"Man, we can't get a hit in. He's just too fast." Nashi said.
"On top of that, he can switch the magic he copies around seemly instantly." Nova said. "He's quite skilled."
"Did you honestly think you could actually defeat us? You might have won many battles, but we're going to win the war." Travis said. He attacked again as he blasted Nashi with lightning and Nova with fire.
'This is what I expected out of one of The Ten.' Zeref thought. 'He's giving Nashi and Nova a difficult time despite how strong they are.'
"Blast us all you like!" Nashi said as she pushed through. "We're not giving up just yet!" Nashi went straight for the lacrima, but Travis moved fast as he kicked her back. He just won't let them through.
"Nashi, let's try attacking together!" Nova said.
"Good idea. He can't stop both of us." Nashi said. "Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame!"
"Raging Bolt!" The girls attacked together and it seemed like their timing was perfect. Both attacks landed and caused an explosion to go off. "Did we get him?"
"I'm not sure." Nashi said.
"Nope!" Travis said as he appeared behind Nashi in lightning. He hit Nashi right in the back with fire. He turned to Nova and blasted her with lightning. Lightning tried to endure as she was pushed back.
"That does it." Nashi said. "Fire Dragon Talon!" She swung her leg at him, but he jumped over her. He dropped down as he shot his leg right against Nashi's face and pushed her back.
"Do you get it yet?" Travis said. "If fire and lightning is really all you two got, there's nothing you can do to beat me. There's a reason I'm called the All Magic. I can copy any form of magic there is and use it instantly. On top of my martial arts abilities, you simply can't win."
"I'm really starting to hate this guy." Nashi said as she got back up. "There's got to be a way to get through him." Nashi tried to think of something she can do. She looked to her father and wondered what he would have done. Something probably simple but over the top. That's when an idea came to her. "Nova, cover me."
"Right." Nova said. She doesn't know what Nashi's thinking, but she trusts her.
"I think this has gone on long enough." Travis said.
"We're getting through!" Nova said as she turned herself into lightning once more. Travis did the same. The two of them kept clashing against each other. As the two of them kept attacking each other, Nashi went straight for the lacrima.
"Oh please." Travis said as he pushed Nova back. He went after Nashi and knocked her into the air. "That's the most obvious strategy you could have picked." He thought they were getting desperate, but he saw Nashi smirking.
"Nova, blast that spot with everything you've got!" Nashi said. "White Fire Dragon Shimmering Flame!"
"Lightning Dragon Heavenward Halberd!" They used one of their strongest attacks and blasted around Travis as a massive explosion went off. Travis made his way through the smoke as he was in a coughing fit.
"A massive explosion? I may have gotten caught in it, but you didn't actually hurt me. You didn't hit me with either of those attacks. What a waste." Travis said.
"We didn't actually aim for you." Nashi said as she smirked. Travis didn't get it until he heard something go down. He looked and saw the barrier surrounding the guild went down. "I took a page from my dad's book. Just cause a massive explosion."
"How about that. She took something you do, Natsu, and actually did something good with it." Happy said.
"Hey! What's that suppose to mean? I blow stuff up all the time." Natsu said.
"Yeah, but when Nashi does it, she has more control over it." Happy said.
"Do you think I'm scared?" Travis said as he was unwavering. "An elite like myself could take on a whole guild."
"He's brave. I'll give him that." Nashi said.
"Get him!" Some of the members went at Travis, but Travis took the challenge. He used his martial arts to take it to them. He gave one a powerful kick and slammed two together. He launched a series of hits against one and jumped in the air to kick one in the head. He kept fighting his way through, willing to take on the whole guild himself, knocking down one member after another.
"It doesn't matter how many of you there are. There are more important factors than numbers that decide a fight." Travis said. "I can also just copy everyone's magic."
"Perhaps." Laxus said as he stepped forward. "However, it's almost like a law in our guild. Anyone who would attack us like this will end up paying the price."
"Oh yeah? Go on! Do your worse! I can copy any spell you can use!" Travis said.
"Not quite. There's one spell you can't copy." Laxus said. He held his arms in position that many of the guild knew about.
"Laxus, are you serious?!" Natsu said. "You've only used that one other time and it failed!" Laxus ignored Natsu and kept going.
"My grandfather had a rule that went with this spell. I'll give you till three to do what I say." Laxus said. "Kneel to me and surrender." Travis didn't get it. "One... Two..."
"You want me to kneel and surrender? No way in hell!" Travis said. "Bring it on! Whatever spell you use won't work!"
"Three..." Laxus said as he clapped his hands and emitted a bright light. "Fairy Law!" A bright light surrounded the entire area that everyone got caught in. Everyone covered their eyes from the blinding light. When the light faded, Travis did not look well. He looked like he passed out before his body fell to the ground. "I warned you."
"What was that?" Nashi said.
"Fairy Law." Nova said. "Just like Fairy Glitter, it's one of our guild's sacred spells."
"It's a powerful spell that effects only those the caster sees as the enemy. That's why this guy was the only one affected." Laxus said.
"Amazing..." Nashi said. It was amazing and it beat another enemy. With Travis taken out, they locked him up and got to work on what else was coming.
"We've got him locked up. That's another one of those ten beaten. That means there should only be four left." Laxus said.
"I'm sending a message to our allies to return to Magnolia. Those other three opposing forces will be here soon." Zeref said.
"Half of those guys have already been beaten, but we're getting attacked from three sides?" Nashi said. "How long was I out for?"
"We may have beaten that guy, but let's hope the ones that are remaining aren't the three ranked above him." Nova said.
"We can only hope. If the three attack us with Ankhselam, Magnolia could be in real danger." Zeref said.
"Quick question." Nashi said. "Can't Laxus just use Fairy Law like he did now? A spell that powerful could put an end to this."
"It's not that easy, Nashi." Lucy said. "Laxus, didn't you try using that once before and it failed?"
"Yeah." Laxus said. "Fairy Law is a powerful spell. It only works on who the caster sees as the enemy. It worked this time because I truly saw that guy as the enemy. However, I can't use it on a whole army."
"It worked on him because Laxus focused the spell on just him." Zeref said. "Using it on an army might work on some, but not on the more powerful wizards of the Duat Kingdom, especially Ankhselam."
"Using it on one enemy is perfectly safe, but the larger the enemy you use that spell on, the more life is drained out of the caster." Laxus said. "My grandfather used it once against Zeref's forces."
"Forget it, Laxus." Natsu said. "You're not making the same sacrifice Gramps made. We're all going to make it out of this."
"Natsu is right." Freed said. "It was a miracle that Master Makarov was revived. Don't make the same sacrifice. Even you might not be as fortunate."
"Relax. I never said I was going to do it." Laxus said.
"No matter. It wouldn't stop them anyway." Zeref said. "Let's just get ourselves ready for the enemy's arrival." One of their most powerful spells brought down one enemy, but they still have thousands of soldiers and a few elite heading their way.
"Hey, Dad." Nova said.
"Yeah?" Laxus asked.
"I know you often wonder what Great Grandpa Makarov would think of being master, but I'm sure he's quite proud of what you just did." Nova said. "That's why I also believe you'll lead the guild through this war." That meant a lot to Laxus.
"Thanks, Nova." Laxus said. As master of the guild, Laxus is going to do everything he can to bring down this enemy.
