Team Work chapter 242

July 17th, 2020

Another week with a decent amount of wrestlers, another easy enough booking session for Stephanie. She smiles down at her papers and relaxes into the plush fabrics of her leather sofa. Things seem to be stabilizing, slowly, and she adores it. Wishes for more of it, just to keep the itch in her hands busy with booking, and maintaining Team Work, and everything else required of a top exec of WWE. It's busy and exhausting but she truly wouldn't have it any other way.

The night starts off in brutal fashion with Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman brawling in a short sprint that sees both men keep fighting back harder and harder, desperation growing until finally the World Champion overwhelms Braun and defeats him after a Glasgow Kiss weakens him for a Claymore Kick which downs him immediately, the pin a foregone conclusion at this point.

Damien Priest defeats Ethan Page, and Cash Wheeler partners with Crazzy Steve to defeat Mox and Cousin Jake. Havok defeats Bianca, and Neveah wins against Brandi Rhodes. Dax Harwood defeats Lashley, and Kenny Omega wins against Chris Bey. Mansoor beats Kevin Owens.

The team of Susie and Bayley wins against Sasha Banks and Io Shirai. Tony Nese defeats Cody Deaner. Allie and Alisha Edwards beats Ruby Riott and Indi Hartwell. Keith Lee is successful over AJ Styles, and Garza partners with Cesaro to defeat Randy Orton and Moose in an elimination tag match. Lacey Evans walks out the winner in a triple threat match against Kylie Rae and Deonna Purrazzo. Alex Shelley defeats Eddie Edwards. Chris Sabin wins against Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cody defeats Josh Alexander. Bray Wyatt takes out Timothy Thatcher with Sister Abigail.

Seth Rollins has to laugh as he comes out to the ring for his match. Month after month of holding things down on Smackdown, trying to show people the truth, and this is all he can be given. A match against Tommy Dreamer. He'd almost be offended if it wasn't so comical. He shrugs and leans against the turnbuckles, barely paying attention as Tommy Dreamer makes his way down to the ring. In fact, he remains disinterested and lost in his own thoughts until the bell rings to signify the start of the match. Even then, when he's somewhat focused on his opponent, he remains playing with him, only halfheartedly swiping at Tommy, bored as he avoids a few swipes and attempts at any sort of offense by the other man.

Then Tommy suddenly moves and Seth gets clocked, hard, right in the face. This gains the Messiah's attention and he stares at Tommy hard, his lips twisting. "Oh," he says. "I see." Then it's on, Seth not allowing the disrespect as he grabs at Tommy and tangles his gloved hand into his hair, pulling him closer and beginning to land strikes in rapid recession. "NO ONE DISRESPECTS ME LIKE THAT!" he bellows right in Tommy's ear, disorienting him further, sending him face first into the mat before rushing forward and kneeing him in the gut.

Tommy collapses forward but Seth grabs him once more and pulls him upright before slapping him hard, then gripping his jaw. "Tommy, Tommy, Tommy," he mocks. "I thought you were supposed to have retired a good ten years ago." Releasing him, he sweeps his legs out from under him, sending him crashing hard to the mat below. Drops down next to him and twists his fingers in his hair, pulling him upright enough to meet his dazed eyes. "You could've been so much more. If you had just RESPECTED ME!"

Immediately he's up, tense and posed for the curbstomp, but he waits until Tommy is struggling to get up, struggling to find his footing, and then he lunges forward and plants the heel of his boot on Tommy's neck and drives his head down brutally into the mat, leaving him lying prone there. Scoffing, he tugs Tommy over onto his back, and pins him, closing his eyes to listen as the referee counts the three, the bell ringing to show it's over. Seth hums and easily slides off of Tommy, lifting his arms in joy, back to laughing, a strange pleasure in his dark gaze once more. "I tell you all. There's no denying your Messiah," he says to the camera nearest him. "I will always do what's right ofr you, what's best for the entire planet." Arms spread out, he tilts his face back and breathes in deeply.
