Zeref has decided to join in the fight against Ankhselam. When it seemed like Ankhselam was beginning to overwhelm Natsu and his friends, Zeref showed up at the last moment. He believe he might have a way to defeat Ankhselam. A forbidden spell known as Body Merge.

"Did you just say Body Merge?" Natsu asked. "What is that?"

"It's a forbidden spell, but it might be our best chance of defeating Ankhselam." Zeref said.

"I'm a little curious myself. Even I never heard of this spell before. What is it?" Ankhselam asked.

"It's a spell that merges two entities into one body." Zeref said. Hearing a spell could merge two people into one was a real surprise. "If this works, Natsu, you'll be even stronger and could actually defeat Ankhselam. If you and I merge our bodies, our combined power should be enough to defeat this threat to humanity for good."

"Are you serious? You and I could actually become one person?" Natsu asked.

"Yes." Zeref said. "Ankhselam must be defeated. This might be the only way. It might be risky, quite dangerous, but our combined powers could defeat him once and for all."

"You honestly think one spell could defeat me?" Ankhselam said.

"I do. That's assuming you'll allow it, Natsu." Zeref said. "I may be suggesting this, but even I don't know the consequences for using this spell. There's a chance we might be merged as one forever. You need to be sure about this."

"I don't need to think it over." Natsu said. "Let's do it." Zeref was a little surprised that Natsu agreed so easily. "You said so yourself that Ankhselam has to be stopped. It also sounds pretty cool. Being one with my big brother doesn't sound all that bad after we've been apart for so long."

"Natsu..." Zeref said as he was real touched by that.

"I know we were once enemies." Natsu said. "I know I wasn't to thrilled about you coming back after all that you did with Mavis and everything else, but that's not the case anymore. You really helped my daughter. You've really helped the guild. Nashi had me realize that I missed you and my first dad and mom more than I thought. If it weren't for you turning me into a demon, I wouldn't be here and have found all the things in my life that are irreplaceable to me. That's why I have no problem becoming one with you." Zeref was real moved by his brother. He certainly has grown and changed over all these years. "Just tell me what to do."

"Just place your hand on me. I'll take care of the rest." Zeref said.

"You got it, brother." Natsu said as he placed his hand on Zeref. Zeref was pleased with his brother as he began the spell.

"Souls and hearts merge as one." Zeref chanted. "Let two lives come and meet to give birth to something new. Join together and open the way for a new life!" Zeref finished the incantation as a light shined around the two of them. A red light and a black light shined as they shot into the air as a spiral pillar. All Erza and Gray did was watch with amazement. Even Ankhselam couldn't believe the strange magic he was seeing. Two life forms were really coming together. Where two once stood, only one stands now. It looked like Natsu, but had black streaks in his hair with him having Zeref's eyes. He had Natsu's regular clothes, but had a black shirt under his vest with Zeref's white cloth hanging around his waist.

"We are now one." Zeref/Natsu said.

"What is this magic?" Ankhselam said as he's never seen anything like it before. "They've actually become one? How is that even possible?"

"Is that really Natsu?" Gray asked.

"No. It looks similar to him, but it feels like a whole new person." Erza said. 'Did this spell have Natsu absorb Zeref into his body, or did they really merge into a completely new being?' She wondered. This certainly was a strange spell.

"It's certainly an interesting spell, but how do you think this is going to defeat me?" Ankhselam said. He got his answer as Zeref/Natsu came right at him with fire around his fist. That fire also had streaks of black in it. Ankhselam was surprised by it and even more when it hit him right across the face. That fire burned more than usual. Zeref/Natsu smashed their fist against him again as he was sent flying into one the church's towers. "What was that?"

"I'm all fired up now." Zeref/Natsu said as that strange looking fire enveleoped around him.

"Black in fire? What kind of fire is that?" Ankhselam questioned. "It's not god slayer magic. It's something else. Have their two separate magics really become one?"

"Fire Dragon Black Iron Fist!" Zeref/Natsu lunged himself at Ankhselam. Ankhselam jumped out of the way and avoided the attack, but that one attack completely demolished that part of the church.

'Unbelievable. Natsu's power is even stronger since it merged with Zeref.' Ankhselam thought. He's never encountered anything like this before, and it's just getting started. Zeref/Natsu jumped at Ankhselam and smashed him right through the roof of the church. Ankhselam fell right inside the church and smashed against the floor.

"Amazing..." Erza said. Zeref/Natsu stood right over the whole Ankhselam fell through as he stared down at him. "He has Natsu's power, but he also has Zeref's set of mind."

"No kidding. If Natsu was the brain, this whole place would have been demolished by now." Gray said.

'This is unreal.' Ankhselam thought. 'Just when you think Fairy Tail wizards can't get any stronger, they find something to surprise you.' He stared up at his opponent. 'He's got Natsu's power mixed with Zeref's, but holds Zeref's tactical mind.' He sat straight up as he wasn't done fighting just yet. "At least this way I'll kill two birds with one stone." Ankhselam got back in the fight as he shot himself straight into the air. He tackled his opponent and launched him in the air as he had a hold of him. "If I kill whoever or whatever you are, I can still take Natsu's power as well as rid myself of both Dragneel brothers."

"Get off!" Zeref/Natsu said as he knocked him off. "Fire Dragon Black Brilliant Flame!" He used the variation of Brilliant Flame and smashed it against Ankhselam. It caused a large explosion that caused Ankhselam to plummet like a meteor. He quickly used teleportation magic and landed back on the roof.

"Of course, it won't be easy" Ankhselam said. He stood back up and formed black orbs in his hands. He tossed one after another. However, Zeref/Natsu deflected each attack as his magic burned away. "He's actually burning my magic?!" Zeref/Natsu came down, but Ankhselam jumped back and kept his distance from him. 'I don't think I can take him on directly. My only chance is to find a way to catch him by surprise, but how?'

"Give up." Zeref/Natsu said. "Give up or you'll die?"

"How exactly do you plan on doing that?" Ankhselam questioned. "Thanks to my power, I am immortal. Even if you cut off my head, I won't die."

"What if I burn you to a pile of ashes?" Zeref/Natsu said. He took in a deep breath with Ankhselam knowing what was coming. "Fire Dragon Black Roar! He breathed out large fire with black in it. It reached all the way past Magnolia. Everyone who saw it was wondering what it was as the heat from it was so intense.

...

Nashi

Nashi and the others saw the fire over them as well. They couldn't believe what they were seeing and were a little freaked by it.

"What is that?!" Storm said.

"I've never seen fire like this before." Juvia said. Nashi knew whose fire that belonged to. That's why she's running as fast as she could.

"Nashi, wait!" Lucy said as they hurried after her.

'I know that's Dad. I know he's fighting Ankhselam, but I can't shake this bad feeling.' Nashi thought as she was running as fast as she could.

...

Kardia Cathedral

"What the hell is happening up there?" Laxus questioned as he saw the flames dissipate. All he could do was lay there with his arms pinned to the ground. "Is Natsu winning up there?"

"Laxus!" Laxus looked and saw Nashi and the others were arriving to help.

"Oh man. Laxus looks like he's in bad shape." Lucy said.

"Dad!" Nashi called as she just kept running to make it to the other side of the church.

"Mom, help Laxus. I'm going with Nashi." Storm said.

"Got it!" Juvia said. She hurried to Laxus as everyone else hurried around the church. They just couldn't shake the feeling something bad was happening. As for the fight, those flames completely burned everything they touched. Whatever the flames touched were completely gone.

"Did he do it?" Gray asked.

"I think so." Erza said. It seemed like it was over, a little too easy with how powerful Ankhselam was. Zeref/Natsu thought it was as he turned away from what he just did. That was a mistake. "Natsu, behind you!" Zeref/Natsu turned around, but it was too late as Ankhselam drove his hand right through the gut and out through the back.

"Natsu! Zeref!" Gray shouted. Nashi and the others made it around, but it was too late as they were scared to hell with what they saw.

"You let your guard down. Big mistake." Ankhselam said with great cheer as he was taking what he wanted. He was able to teleport away from the attack at the last second. Then, he teleported back when their guard was down. Natsu and Zeref shared a body. That meant they were sharing the pain. They tried to keep the fight going as he raised his fist, but Ankhselam lifted him off the ground and made the pain worse. "Give me all your power, Natsu!" As he had his arm there, he was draining all the magic power and strength Natsu had. Natsu and Zeref could feel they were beginning to split apart and there wasn't anything to be done as the shared body was going limp. Ankhselam drained every last bit of power. "And now, Natsu and Zeref Dragneel... Die!" He threw them right off the building.

"No!" Gray and Erza shouted. As Zeref and Natsu began to split apart, their souls went up as their bodies dropped to the ground. Nashi raced as fast as she could with any last hope to save them.

"Zeref..."

"Natsu..." As the two of them split apart, the two brothers that finally came together were being separated again.

"No!" Nashi screamed.

...

Drake

Drake heard Nashi screaming. He heard what happened and he couldn't believe it.

"Drake? What's wrong?" Jellal asked.

"Natsu and Zeref are...dead...!" Drake said. As soon as he said those words, none of Crime Sorciere could believe it.

"I guess that means we're done here." Serena said as she made her way to the church, all of them too shocked to really do anything about it.

...

The Church

"No!" Nashi said as she hurried to them. Natsu and Zeref were divided again, but neither of them were moving. "Dad! Uncle!" She checked both of them, but it wasn't looking good for either of them. She could sense magic or anything from either of them. "No... Please, no... Dad, Uncle Zeref, wake up. Wake up! Please!" There was nothing but silence. All that could be heard were Lucy's and Happy's sobs. This seemed impossible, but it was right in front of them. Juvia helped Laxus out and they couldn't believe them either. Nashi pressed herself against her father as she cried on him like a pillow.

"This can't really be happening..." Storm said as he voiced what everyone was feeling. The only one happy about all of this was Ankhselam as he held all of Natsu's power as a dark fire-like substance in his left hand.

"It's mine." Ankhselam said as he pulled out the glowing lacrima shard. "The light of time and the darkness of the end. With these two, I shall revive Acnologia and destroy this meaningless world." He took in his victory. Erza and Gray weren't going to let him getaway with this. They both tried to attack him when his back was turn in a fit of rage, but that was when Serena showed up. She attacked both of them and knocked them right off the building.

"You got it?" Serena asked.

"I did." Ankhselam said.

"Excellent. Let's get going and cast the spell. Shall we?" Serena asked.

"Not yet. We're waiting for one more." Ankhselam said. That one more broke free. Storm's ice tower had it's top half shatter and Terran broke free. Storm heard it and he couldn't believe that happened either. Terran moved as fast as he could as he jumped over to the church.

"No way! He got out?!" Storm said as he spotted him.

"Terran, I'm surprised. Ice slowed you down?" Ankhselam asked.

"Forgive me. That ice was unusual, but I've gotten use to it." Terran said.

'"Use to it"? Did he really just say that he got use to my demonic ice?!' Storm thought. That was the one thing had that could have beaten him.

"You've got what you came for? Does that mean you're going to cast the spell?" Terran asked.

"Yes, but not here. I need to do it where Acnologia fell." Ankhselam said and was sending a message to his soldiers. "To all my remaining soldiers, head south for Hargeon! Our hour of victory is almost upon us!" His soldiers heard his orders. They stopped what they were doing and headed straight for Hargeon. "Let's go. We're heading for Hargeon."

"Aren't you going to finish off the guild?" Serena asked. Ankhselam looked down at what he did. He could see there was nothing for him to worry.

"No. I want Fairy Tail to see that everything they believed in is nothing but lies and fantasy. I want them to see the world they seem to love be destroyed." Ankhselam said. "Besides, Zeref was the brain and Natsu was practically the heart. They'll be less of a threat. I told you I wanted to break them and I did. Fairy Tail has finally lost." Serena and Terran respected his decision. Serena used her magic and opened a portal for the three of them. They walked through with their victory and left a great impact on everything. Magnolia is in ruins, Zeref and Natsu are dead, and Acnologia will soon be revived. Has Fairy Taily actually lost?
