Chapter 295: Arc 17: Preparations

On the southwest side harbor of Kuri...

"I thought so." Kin'emon was studying the blueprints Ashura had bought off. "The man from Kuri who made off with the blueprints in the end was you. I have been looking for these. The blueprints of Kaido's mansion on Onigashima. I sure put Franosuke-dono through a lot of trouble. But now, we can plan what to do in the enemy's territory. Is that Raizo?" he picked up the ringing Smart Tanishi. "How is everything? Have you managed to rescue Luffytaro-dono?"

"It is far better than that." Raizo confessed. "It's a long story, but we gathered a number of warriors; roughly..."

"Thirty-five hundred?" Kin'emon exclaimed. "So you safely rescued Luffy-dono and you even found and freed Kawamatsu? On top of that, you occupied the labor camp?"

"We are expecting more warriors to join us." Raizo added. "But there is one more problem that you need to know. There are a number of weapons factories in Wano, but most of their products are war machines meant for export. Samurai like to use swords and spears the most. Currently, those are tough to get since carrying weapons is banned by Orochi. If we do not have enough weapons for all the rebels, we will not stand a chance."

"Okay, I understand." Kin'emon responded. "That is quite serious. Swords, huh? We made some progress too, but I will fill you in later." he hopped on his steed. "To gauge our combat preparedness, I am going to Amigasa Village and will work from there. Raizo, give me the details of your group later."

In the underground chamber in Ringo's village...

"Is that Kin'emon?" Kawamatsu opened communications to his leader.

"Kawamatsu." Kin'emon was happy to hear from his fellow Akazaya. "I am glad that you are alive.

"We have a lot to catch up on." the puffer-fish Fishman agreed. "But I need to tell you something first. You know that we conquered Udon, right?"

"About that, I was told by Raizo that thanks to Luffytaro-dono, the number of soldiers on our side have increased." Kin'emon replied.

"But I bet you don't have enough swords, right?" Kawamatsu inquired.

"That is exactly right." Kin'emon confirmed. "We have been contemplating what to do about it. Damn Orochi." he cursed. "He has been taking away people's swords all across the country for the last 20 years."

"I thought so." Kawamatsu responded. "But do not worry. Even if you get thousands of soldiers, I can provide as many swords as you need."

"What?" Kin'emon was stunned. "For real?"

"Send some people to the location I am about to share with you." Kawamatsu instructed.

"All right." Kin'emon nodded. "I will do so immediately."

In the prison cell where Law was held...

Law pulled back his 'Room', having cut up Hawkins beforehand. "What happened to your alliance?" the younger pirate asked. "I thought you formed an alliance with Kidd and Apoo."

"We were set up." Hawkins answered. "Scratchman Apoo was under Kaido's wing all along. The monstrous Kaido said to me 'If you wanna become my subordinate, I'll welcome you.' He's always looking for strong soldiers to make the most powerful army in the world. My chances of victory in that situation were zero percent. My chances of successful escape were zero percent. My chances of survival by obeying were 40 percent. I had no choice. But Kidd and Killer weren't like me. They challenged him and kept fighting until they couldn't move an inch. Kaido won't kill people like that. He'll try to break their spirit and crush them into obedience. But I don't think Kidd will give up, so he'll be killed. I feel sorry of Kidd's crew members. They've been told to do this and that if they wanna save their captain; which means Orochi uses them as he likes. The Yonkou are a different creature from us. They couldn't comprehend reason. The alliance between you and Straw Hat seems to be going well. You two came to Wano together, and now... have you changed your mind?"

"Don't question me!" Law snapped, raising Kikoku, he dealt the finishing blow to the cut up Hawkins. "If you're plotting to let me escape, I'm it." he exited the prison, stopping to speak X Drake in the shadows.

"Just answer me one question, Trafalgar Law." X Drake grunted. "How did you know that name?"

"You forgot who Vice Admiral Garp's granddaughter is." Law responded and walked out.

"This is Kin'emon." Kin'emon contacted the rest of the rebel leaders. "There is a change in the symbol of the flyers that you people have with you. Add two lines on the habu snake's stomach. That is Yasuie-sama's message. Tell everyone about the change in the symbol."

"I am rather impressed." Sahiko noted. "The people of Wano can figure out the meaning of the additional lines instantly."

"Now, what does it mean?" Onami asked. "Two dashes on the habu snake... babu?"

"You cannot understand it if you don't know the names of the ports in Wano." Kin'emon explained. "Itachi Port, Neko Port, Kaeru Port, Mogura Port, Tokage Port, and Habu Port. Every port in Wano has a name that sounds the same as an animal. First, with the symbol of the habu snake, we implied that Habu Port was the rendezvous point."

"So now that two additional limbs have been added, the habu snake gets turned into a lizard." Sahiko followed the rationale.

"That's right, Sahiko-dono." Kin'emon nodded. "Tokage Port is in Udon. By changing the rendezvous point from Habu Port of Tokage Port, even quick-witted enemies won't be able to get in the way of our plan. Yasuie-sama must have considered every possibility and taken steps early on for us. We were already indebted to him, but we caused him trouble until the very last. A true samurai must make use of this opportunity or it will bring shame."

"I remember what Yasuie-sama once told us." Kawamatsu joined the group.

"'You guys must become Wano's'..." Kanjuro recited the quote.

"'Guardians'." Raizo finished.

"He was really something." Orobi noted.

"We still have some challenges." Kin'emon informed. "But thanks to you all, the number of our allied soldiers is increasing just as we had hoped. We still have no idea what happened to Denjuro, but we have seven of Kozuki's retainers. Let's start he discussion of the plan. We will take Kaido and Orochi's heads at any cost to avenge the late Oden-sama."
