Episode 351: Smells Like Team Spiritomb!
Shortly after the battle with Okuwamon and his Kuwagamon followers, The mysterious hooded woman watches on as she vanishes.She reappears again as she has transformed into a sphinx-like Digimon. She has Gatomon's gloves as well. She is approached by an equine Digimon resembling a pegasus. He wore ornamental armor on his face, hooves and torso. He has a blonde flowing mane but thin long tail. He has long feathered wings on his back.
"Nefertimon, why did you present them the white apples?" The pegasus Digimon asked.
"I had to, Pegasusmon. I had to help them restore their strength," Nefertimon answered. "I could not stand by and allow innocent human and DIgimon suffer like they have since Myotismon has declared the war," Nefertimon said.
"I understand. What you did was forbidden. You could face an extreme penalty for this," Pegasusmon said.
"I did what I had to do," Nefertimon said. "I value life above all else. More so than my own life. I would gladly pay with my life if it means others can live and see their bright tomorrows," Nefertimon said. Pegasusmon walked up to her.
"Life is even more precious than gold. I will stand by your side for as long as I can," Pegasusmon said.
"I don't want you to do that for me, Pegasusmon," Nefertimon retorted.
"It's already too late for me to turn back now. We already came this far. Myotismon has to be stopped at any cost. Even if I must surrender it along with you, Nefertimon. I promise you that," Pegasusmon said. Nefertimon said nothing more, but she was grateful to have him by her side. A tear came down her eye as she looked right at him. "May the light protect us."
"Thank you," Nefertimon said tearfully.
Back in the Sinnoh region, a few days has passed since Kabuterimon has Digivolved into MegaKabuterimon and defeated Okuwamon. They parted ways with Lucas, Dawn, and Kenny for the moment, so they were heading to a nearby town, so Kairi has spotted a Wormadam in her Trash Cloak.
"A Trash Cloak Wormadam," Kairi said.
"You got a Plant Cloak Wormadam, so a Trash Cloak Wormadam would work out. I mean Cheryl has three Wormadam and a Mothim," Sora said. "So, go for it." Kairi smiled and nodded. She took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go for it, Buneary!" Kairi called out Buneary came on out to battle The Trash Cloak Wormadam. The Trash Cloak Wormadam fires Mirror Shot right the rabbit Pokémon. "Dodge it, Buneary!" Buneary dodges avoids the Trash Cloak Wormadam's Mirror Shot. "Now, use Jump Kick!" Buneary heads down right at the bagworm Pokémon. Wormadam uses Protect and it bounces right off.
"That Wormadam just used Protect!" Terra said.
"Kairi's not going to give up that easily," Ventus said.
"Buneary! Dizzy Punch!" Kairi ordered. Buneary lands a punch onto the Trash Cloak Wormadam and ended up being confused. The Trash Cloak Wormadam felt dizzy from that punch from the rabbit Pokémon's ears. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Buneary fires Ice Beam and and forze the Trash Cloak Wormadam. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Trash Cloak Wormadam flows inside and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirld around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box activates and it asks her if she wants to keep the Trash Cloak Wormadam with her. She chose to send the Trash Cloak to Professor Oak's.
"Good one!" Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora," Kairi said. Sora and Kairi gave each other a kiss on the lips. Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the DIgimon all smiled as the couple shared a kiss.
Later that night, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the DIgimon all made a stop for the night to do some training. The Digimon were helping out with the training. Sora exchanged Carkol for Buizel as Kairi exchanged Kricketune for Bidoof. Veemon stood before Buizel a practice battle.
"I'm ready when you are, Sora!" Veemon stated.
"Oh, I am ready. Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Buizel launches himself towards Veemon and the bue dragon Digimon dodges Aqua Jet.
"Vee Headbutt!" Veemon shouted as he heads towards Buizel with the full force of his head.
"Dodge!" Sora called out as Buizel dodges Veemon's attack. "Now, use Sonic Boom!" Buizel!" Buizel jumps and sends out Sonic Boom from his tail to strike Veemon. Veemon dodges the attack. "Keep on firing, Buizel!" Buizel does exctly that.
"Look at Veemon go," Ventus said.
"He's really into this," Gabumon said.
"Buizel is no stranger to a challenge, so it's not readlly a surprise," Agumon said.
"Veemon!" Veemon shouted, sending a punch.
"Block that!" Sora called out. Buizel stops Veemon's punch cold. "Water Gun!" Buizel fires Water Gun and it washes Veemon right in it. "Now, use Aqua Jet!" Buizel launches himself with Aqua Jet.
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers they found a good place to practice for Digivolving into the Ultimate level.
"Okay, guys, this spot should do. Lets get some practice done," Vorvomon said.
"Yeah!" The Dracomon Brothers agreed. Just then, Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers started to Digivolve.
"Vorvomon Digivolve to... Lavorvomon!"
"Dracomon Digilvolve to... Coredramon!"
The three Champion level Digimon smirked as they got ready to practice.
"If we're going to beat Agumon and his team, we'll have to build up loads of practice, so let's get it done!" Lavorvomon said. The Coredramon agreed with him. "Mighty Flame!" Lavorvomon fired his attack at a stone tower.
Blue Coredramon, "Blue..."
Green Coredramon, "Green..."
Both at once, "Flare Breath!"
They both fired their attacks and they do damage on what's left of the tower. They laugh, but then the clouds started to appear.
"What's going on up there?" The green Coredramon asked.
"Who cares?" Lavorvomon asked. They then hear an eerie sound as a stone levitates before them. The stone takes a ghostly form. It appeared to be a purple, swirling vortex with green eyes and a black spiral for a pupil in its left eye. Around its face are green orbs that encircle it. Its "body" is connected to a stone base. "What is that?"
"I think it was sleeping in there," the blue Coredramon pointed out.
The Pokémon fires a powerful Dark Pulse and it struck the three dragon Digimon, causing them to revert back to their Rookie forms.
"Just when we were getting the hang of it!" Vorvomon pouted. The Pokémon floats off in the opposite direction.
Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Buizel, and the Digimon all noticed the clouds in the sky and a sudden chill in the air.
"Is anyone feeling cold all of a sudden?" Aqua asked.
"I'm feeling it. What is that?" Terra asked.
"Tomb," a ghastly voice howled.
"Hey! Cut that out, Armadillomon, that's not funny!" Patamon scolded.
"That wasn't me! I thought it was one of you," Armadillomon said, shinvering in fear.
"Spiritomb," the voice howled again.
"Now, that's creepy!" Meowth shivered.
"Tomb!" The Pokémon appeared suddenly before them.
"What is that thing?" Hawkmon asked.
"Whatever it is, it's scary," Wormmon said.
"Is that a Pokémon?" Ventus asked.
"Let's see," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Spiritomb, the Forbidden Pokémon
Type: Ghost/Dark
Spiritomb is a Pokémon that is said to be bound to an odd keystone as punishment for its misdeeds 500 years ago. It is said that Spiritomb was formed by 108 spirits.
That answers that," Sora said. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at the group and they all duck out of the way. "Hey! What did you do that for?! Buizel! Water Gun!" Buizel fires Water Gun as it fires Dark Pulse right at the sea weasel Pokémon and earned a knockout. Spiritomb takes off through the woods. On the very next morning, they continued to head for Veilstone City, but their encounter with Spiritomb was still fresh in their minds.
"ANy idea on what that Spiritomb was doing here in the first place?" Ventus asked.
"Beats me. And Wormmon was right about that thing. It was scary," Meowth said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"But the question is, what was his attitude. He sure was nasty," Kairi said.
"Very nasty," Aqua agreed.
"No joke," Terra added.
Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all arrived to a nearby village to find that it was attacked by someone or by something. They had hoped it wasn't caused by an evil Digimon, or maybe a rouge Pokémon. THey saw the houses smashed and the Pokémon injured.
"Oh man," Sora said.
"Something terrible has happened," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Please, Raticate, say something," a boy pleaded.
"Parasect, say something," a girl pleaded.
"What happened here?" Sora asked.
"Some kind of creepy Pokémon just attacked us all out of nowhere. And none of us did anything," the boy answered.
"You don't think it was Spiritomb, do you?" Kairi asked.
"I would have to say it is. I thought maybe Ogremon or some other Digimon must have done this. But that Spiritomb has something to do with this as well," Terra said.
"IT WAS SPIRITOOMB!" A old woman shouted, startling everyone. "THE EVIL SPRIITOMB'S BEEN REBORN! IT'S GOT TO BE TRUE!"
"Don't yell!" Biyomon yelped.
"We're a little trouble catching your drift," Meowth said.
"Then, clean out them ears of yours, talking Meowth. The seal holding Spiritomb has been smashed," the old woman said.
"What are you even talking about, lady?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Good thing I am," the old woman said.
"Then, won't you explain it to us?" Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Meowth, and the Digimon asked.
"Hm-hm," the old woman said. She sat down to explain it to the travelers. "There's a vilalge legend going back a long time that tells all about how Spiritomb was sealed away."
"Sealed away?" Palmon asked.
"You heard right right. There was a wicked Pokémon named Spiritomb. It caused terrible trouble for the folks around here. It did everything it could to make their lives miserable."
"That's terrible," Aqua said.
"It sure was, honey," the old woman agreed. "Always messing with the fruit the villagers were trying to pick and destroying everybody's homes. Nothing could be done to stop Spiritomb and those villagers were one step away from being at their wits end. When all of a sudden, a brave knight came wandering right into their village. The knight claimed to be an Aura Guardian. And this Aura Guardian had a Pikachu with him. They told him about their troubles, and he battled Spiritomb on behalf of the village. Then, after bravely defeating Spiritomb, the Aura Guardian sealed it in a keystone deep inside a stone hallowed tower to make certain it wouldn't cause anyone any harm again. The village was saved, and everyone lived peacefully with their lives after that.So, you wanted to hear the legend and now you have."
"You don't think maybe, someone might have destroyed the Hallowed Tower, do you?" Sora asked.
"If someone did, then it's no wonder that Spiritomb caused trouble around here," Terra said.
"But who would be dumb enough to do that?" Ventus asked. The old woman led the group to the Hallowed Tower.
"The Hallowed Tower is now a pile of rubble!" The old woman said. She turned to them with an angry glare. "You kids did this, didn't you?!" Everyone all winced.
"No! We didn't! I swear!" Sora said, waving his arms. Agumon sniffed the air.
"But I know who did. It was Vorvomon and hr Dracomon Brothers. THey've been here," Agumon said.
"What makes you think it was them?" Ventus asked.
"I know their scents anywhere. They must have Digivolved and fired their attacks on it, without knowing what it was," Agumon said.
"Don't those guys ever quit?" Meowth asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Hey, what do you mean 'Look who's talking'?" Meowth asked angrily.
"Why would they do something like this?" Aqua asked.
"We can worry about that later. We have a Spiritomb on the loose and we gotta stop him," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"She's right. The longer Spiritomb is out there, the more damge he'll do," Sora said.
"Right. Let's find him right now," Agumon said.
Just before they all went to find Spiritomb, a boy from the village came running to the group.
"Hey! Granny, help!" The called out to the group. "That Spiritomb's attacking us again!" Everyone all gasped and rushed to the village. Spiritomb was attacking the village again.
"There he is!" Kairi said.
"Okay, let's do this thing," Sora said.
"On it," Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Clefairy!" Clefairy came out to batte the forbidden Pokémon.
"Good call. A Fairy Type Pokémon like Clefairy has the edge over a Dark Type like Spiritomb," Terra said.
"Clefairy! Use Disarming Voice!" Kairi ordered. Clefairy sends out Disarming Voice and it struck Spiritomb. "Now, use Meteor Mash!" Clefairy jumps to deliever her Meteor Mash on Spiritomb and he fires a powerful Hyper Beam on her. "Clefairy!" Clefairy goes flying backwards and Kairi ran up to her. "Poor Clefairy."
"Fairy," Clefairy said weakly.
"Better get him before he is fully recharged! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Spiritomb a blast of Thunderbolt. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swung his tail and Spiritomb lands right on the ground. Spiritomb gets back up and fires Dark Pulse at Pikachu. "Dodge with Quick Attack!" Pikachu avoids Dark Pulse with his speed attack. "Iron Tail again!" Pikachu swings his tail at Spiritomb. Spiritomb attacks with Shadow Ball. Pikachu dodges.
"That Spiritomb's tough all right," Veemon said.
"Spiritomb, Spiritomb, Spiritomb, tomb, Spiritomb, tomb," Spiritomb said.
"What's Spiritomb saying?" Ventus asked.
"Spiritomb just said that he's going to have his renge for sealing him up. And he'll start with Pikachu," Meowth translated.
Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at Pikachu and he dodges again. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at the ground, making a dust cloud to cover his escpae.
"Where did he go?" Ventus asked.
"Spiritomb escaped from again," Gomamon said.
"He'll be back," Sora said.
"And we'll have to set a trap for Spiritomb; a trap he won't resist," Sora said. "Okay, here's the plan."
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers, they were recovering from their recent defeat despite them being in their Champion level forms.
"Can't believe this happened. If we were in the Ultimate level we would have been have gotten a better chance," Vorvomon said.
"Yeah, we would have," the second Dracomon said.
"We'll have to find that thing and teach it not to mess with us," Vorvomon said.
The three dragon Digimon flew to find Spiritomb to get their payback. As they searched for the group as they spotted Pikachu and Angel slepping in a meadow.
"Hey, Vorvomon! There's that rat thing and that furball that are with the humans!" The first Dracomon said.
"They're alone! We can get them while they're sleeping!" Vorvomon said. They swooped down to land a blitz attack on them when suddenly, without warning, Ice Beam and Bubble Beam struck them. Moonblast and a couple of Water Guns struck them. "What just happened!" They saw Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Meowth, and the other DIgimon with them. "You! You set this trap for us!"
"It was for Spiritomb. And you triggered it before he was supposed to show up," Sora said.
"Spiritomb? What are you talking about?" Vorvomon asked. "Ah, who cares! We can take you on! Dracomon! Get ready!"
"But we don't know if we can Digivolve into the Ultimate level yet," the first Dracomon said.
"We'll trigger it when we fight. Now! Digivolve the both of you!" Vorvomon commanded. Both Dracomon started to Digivolve along with Vorvomon. "Vorvomon DIgivolve to... Lavorvomon!"
"Dracomon Digivolve to... Coredramon!"
"Veemon, think we can take them?" Agumon asked.
"You know it, Agumon," Veemon said. Both of Agumon and Veemon started to Digivolve.
"Agumon Digivolve to... Greymon!"
"Veemon Digivolve to... Veedramon!"
Greymon and Veedramon stared at Lavorvomon and the Coredramon as they were ready to go.
"Greymon's mine!" Lavorvomon said.
"On it, Lavorvomon," the blue Coredramon said.
"We can take Veedramon," the Green Coredramon said.
"Two against one. that's hardly a fair fight. Maybe, I can change that," Veedramon said as he started to Digivolve. "Veedramon Digivolve to... AeroVeedramon!" AeroVeedramon took to the skies as the Coredramon flew after him.
"I'm going to enjoy flattening you like a pancake!" Lavorvomon said.
"Go ahead and try it, lizard breath!" greymon said. Greymon charges right towards Lavorvomon with his horns out. "Great Antelrs!" Greymon lifted Lavorvomon right into the air. "Nova Blast!" He fires right at Lavorvomon to land a devatsting hit. Lavorvomon took a hit from Greymon's Nova Blast. Lavorvomon growls and ran towards Greymon.
"Ready or not, here I come! Earth-stamp!" Lavorvomon shouted as he went to crush Greymon. Up to the Coredramon, AeroVeedramon grabbed the both of them and threw them down. The two dragon Digimon stood back up.
"I'm not going to give up that easily!" The Blue Coredramon said.
"Me neither!" The green Coredramon added.
"You're no match for me. I'm an Ultimate level Digimon and you're Champion level Digimon. What are you trying to prove?" AeroVeedramon asked.
"Easy! To Digivolve into the Ultimate leve and take you down! Blue Flare Breath!" The blue Coredramon shouted as he fired right at AeroVeedramon.
"Green Flare Breath!" The green Coredramon shouted.
They both fired right at AeroVeedramon, but he wasn't even affected by their attacks. The two Coredramon flew right towards AeroVeedramon, but he grabbed them both and threw them both down again.
"You can't Digivolve into your Ultimate forms like this!" AeroVeedramon said.
"Shut up!' Both Coredramon shouted. "Blue/Green Flare Breath!" The Coredramon fired their attacks simultaneously right at AeroVeedramon and they refused to stand down.
Overo Greymon and Lavorvomon, Greylifts Lavorvomon right up into the air and sends him flying.
"Nova Blast!" Greymon shouted as he sends out a large fireball and lands a hit onto Lavorvomon and he fell to the ground, beaten. Lavorvomon reverted back to his Rookie form. "I thought for sure I was going to pull it off. I won't forget this!" Vorvomon flew off.
Over to AeroVeedramon and the Coredramon they kept firing their attacks right at AeroVeedramon. But he didn't even flinch.
"Enough is enough. Now to put you both down! V-Wing Blade!" AeroVeedramon shouted as he sends his attack right at the both of them. The Coredramon reverted back to their Rookie forms and flew off as well. Greymon and AeroVeedramon reverted back to their Rookie forms as Spiritomb has come along.
"Look! It's Spiritomb!" Agumon said.
"Hey, Spiritomb! Over here!" Sora taunted. He and Pikachu blew a raspberry at the forbidden Pokémon, infuriating him and making him chase them both. Sora and Pikachu ran as Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at the both of them. "Okay, Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Pikachu ran circles around Spiritomb, making him follow his movements. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gave Spiritomb a shock. Spiritomb fires Hyper Beam right at Pikachu and he quickly dodges the attack. Spiritomb kept up the battle with Pikachu. "Okay, Pikachu!Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt again as Spiritomb has taken a bad hit form the mouse Pokémon, but he refused to call it quits. "Thunderbolt again!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Spiritomb as dodged and fired Shadow Ball and Pikachu dodges. He was getting tired from all the running. Spiritomb comes right at Pikachu with Giga Impact.
"Giga Impact!" Patamon gasped.
"If that hits, it's all over!" The old woman said.
"Get out of there!" Kairi pleaded.
"Eevee!" Angel also gasped.
Spiritomb kept coming right at Pikachu to ffinish the battle once and for all. Both Sora and Pikachu got hit by the powerful attack.
"Sora!" Kairi cried.
"Eevee!" Angel also cried.
"It's over," Meowth said. Sora weakly lifted his head and turned to his partner.
"Pikachu," Sora said weakly. Spiritomb floats to Sora and his unconscious Pikachu. Sora glares directly at Spiritomb as he just laughs in his face. Then, dark gray clouds forms and covers the night sky.
"Look at the sky," Aqua said.
"Just like before," Terra said. Pikachu regained consciousness and weakly stood on his feet.
"Pikachu. This is our last chance. You remember our Rain Dance combo?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Good. Aim your Thunderbolt right at the sky. Make a thunderstorm," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said as he could barely stand on his feet. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right into the sky. A bolt of yellow lightning came right down from the cloud and strikes Pikachu. Spiritomb was confused by this. With this, Pikachu has recovered from his injuries. "Pikachu!"
"Yes! That lightning recharged Pikachu's energy big time!' Tentomon said.
"You did it!" Kairi cheered.
"Eevee!" Angel cheered as well.
"Feeling better, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Great! Volt Tackle!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Spiritomb with the full force of his body. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse, but it cuts through Spritomb's Dark Pulse like butter and lands a hit onto the forbidden Pokémon.
"It can't be! Could this boy be the descendant of the Aura Guardian who has defeated Spiritomb 500 years ago?" The old woman asked as she smiled greatly.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Spiritomb another Thunderbolt, making SPritomb fall right at the ground. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it at Spritomb. He flows inside and it wobbles around and around, knowing he might not stay in there for long. It went at it for quite a few seconds as everyone was watching anxiously. "Come on." It kept on wobbling until stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box activates and it asks him if he wants to keep Spiritomb with him. He chose to keep Spiritomb in exchange for Buizel. "Caught myself a Spiritomb. Now, your power will be used for good instead of bad." The old woman walked up to Sora.
"That was mighty amazing, youngster. You captured the Spiritomb. Can you hope to tame it?" The old woman asked.
"I know I can. I give you my word, with Spiritomb under my belt, Spiritomb will learn a thing about being helpful and not cause trouble for anyone," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I have to agree. You think it's a good idea to catch Spiritomb, Sora?" Aqua asked.
"I know you were skeptical, Aqua, but Spritomb just needs to be pushed in the right direction. Besides, we gave Meowth a chance," Sora said.
"He's right, they did," Meowth said.
"I guess you're right. If you believe in Spiritomb, then I can support your decision," Aqua said.
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers, they were steaed by their recent defeat.
"This is just great! I thought for certain we were going to finally Digivolve into Ultimate, but no! We get down-sized once again! This is too much to bare!" Vorvomon exclaimed.
"We know how you feel. It was us against AeroAveedramon and we could have done it if he hadn't finished us off with one blow!" The first Dracomon stated.
"We're never going to do it if this keep up," the second Dracomon said.
"We'll just have to try again. And when we do see them again, we'll trample them good," Vorvomon stated.
"Yeah!" The Dracomon Brothers agreed.
On the very next morning, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon were getting ready to depart.
"Thank you for the meal and letting stay for the night," Sora said.
"No, sonny. The village should be thanking you. Now, a new legend has been born. Legend of a brave knight and his loyal Pikachu who not only defeated Spiritomb, but tammed it as well," the old woman said.
"Knight? Me?" Sora asked surprised.
"You got a knight's blood flowing in your veins, so I believe it," Kairi said.
"We made a legend," Agumon said.
As they said their goodbyes to the village, they continued on towards Veilstone City. A man from the village walked up to her.
"You sure letting that kid keep that Spiritomb a good idea? I mean, what if he can't contrl it?" The man asked.
"Just as long we don't have to worry about it escaping again, who really cares? Besides, I if he says he can control it, I believe him. If not, then, it's really not our problem, is it?" The old woman asked.
"Now that the Spiritomb inprisoned for 500 years has been caught by Sora, things will be looking up, but for long before another attack occurs?
