Episode 354: Journey Into The Unown
After a couple of days of wondering through helping a young self-proclaimed detective catch a trio of criminals known as the Beauty Gang and Shinx evolving into a Luxio. They made their way to Solaceon Town. They came to the town to realize that Pokémon Contest was about to take place."A Pokémon Contest is taking place tomorrow," Ventus said.
"If you're going to register for the Contest then you're too late, because it's too late," a new voice spoke. They turned to see a girl with a Gabite. She has has cherry-colored eyes and dark cream pink hair tied in lavender ribbons. Her casual wear is a white long sleeved mini-coat held by another identical ribbon on her chest, a sky blue dress that reaches her knees, white pantyhose, and white low-heel pumps. "The deadline to register was five minutes ago."
"Too bad. That gives me more time to get ready for my next one," Kairi said.
"Are you participating in the contest too?" Aqua asked.
"I am," the girl said. She took a good look at Kairi. "You must be Kairi, am I correct?"
"Yes. And who are?" Kairi asked.
"I am Ursula. The reason I recognized you is the fact I saw you in the Floraroma Town Contest and I was cut fro the first round!"
"You were there?" Kairi asked.
"I thought she looked familiar," Biyomon said.
The rest of the group remembered seeing her use her Jigglypuff. She got cut from the finals in the Contest. Ursula looked directly at Sora and her heart started to ouond like a jackhammer.
"Aren't you Sora Ketchum by chance?" Ursula asked.
"Um, yeah," Sora replied nervously.
"I thought so. I have always been a fan of yours," Ursula said, blushing. "You're even more handsome in person." Kairi didn't like it that this trainer was flirting with her boyfriend. "How would you like to join me for dinner after the Contest?"
"Um, thanks, but I already have a girlfriend," Sora said. Ursula was shot down.
"What?!" Ursula gasped. "And why haven;t you told me of this girlfriend of yours?"
"We just met just now," Sora said.
Ursula scoffed, "I supposed it cannot be helped. But mark my words I will have you fawning over me! And I shall do so by winning this Contest!" Sora was nervous. "Adieu." She took her leave giving a snobbish laugh.
"What did I just walk into?" Sora asked.
"It's best not to think about it," Terra said, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"You're right. My eyes are for Kairi only," Sora stated. That made Kairi smile.
As they looked around they spotted Dawn doing some training. She had herself an Aipom.
"Okay, Aipom! use Swift!" Dawn ordered. Aipom swings its tail around and the stars swirls around. "Now, use Focus Punch!" Aipom gave a bunch of Focus Punches from left to right. It made Aipom look like it had two tails. "That was great, Aipom!"
"It sure was," Kairi spoke. Dawn turned to see Kairi and the rest.
"Kairi, Sora! I'm happy to see you!" Dawn greeted.
"How's it going, Dawn?" Sora asked.
"I'm doing alright," Dawn said.
"When did you get an Aipom?" Ventus asked.
"I got her just a couple of days ago. I traded my Buizel with a trainer looking for one," Dawn explained.
"Looks pretty energentic," Kairi said. "Have you come here for the Solaceon Town Pokémon Contest?" Dawn asked.
"Well, we didn't know about that until we came here. And it looks like I won't be in it this time because I just heard from a Coordinator named Ursula that the deadline passed," Kairi said.
"I met her already," Dawn said. "So what did you think of my performance? I just got it done with my new Aipom."
"It was awesome. It was like Aipom had two tails," Gabumon said.
"Glad you think so, Gabumon. I wanted my Swift it look like she was hitting two places at once," Dawn said.
"I don't think it was Focus Punch. I think it was Double Hit," Sora said.
"Double Hit?" Dawn asked.
"Double Hit is an attack that can hit twice," Sora said. "I remember when my Aipom evolved into an Ambipom."
"It was after she learned how to use Double Hit during a tag battle," Kairi said. She remembered the battle she and Sora had during a tag battle with a pair of trainers with a Mareep and Flaaffy.
"You mean my new Aipom will be an Ambipom?" Dawn asked.
"That's exactly right, Dee Dee," Kenny teased. Dawn growled in anger.
"How many times do I have to tell you? Don't call me Dee Dee!" Dawn barked.
"Hey, Kenny. Haven't seen you since the Okuwamon business," Sora said.
"Right back at you, Sora," Kenny said. He sets attention on Kairi. "So, Kairi, you gonna enter the Contest?"
"No. I didn't get a chance to register and we didn't even know about it until we got here," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Okay. But I gotta say, I was totally looking forward to it," Kenny said.
"You wanna battle me to pick up where we last left off?" Sora asked.
"Maybe another time, becuase I don't want to risk being interruppted by some Digimon like before," Kenny said.
"It's cool," Sora said.
"Well, if you aren't doing anything right now, I was just heading over to see Dialga and Palkia right now," Kenny said.
"See Palkia and Dialga?" Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and the Digimon all asked.
"Over to the Solaceon Ruins, Saturn stood outside the ruins along with two Team Galactic grunts.
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers, they were picking some berries and they were eating them.
"This must be our lucky day," Vorvomon said, eating an Oran Berry. He spots Saturn and the Team Galactic grunts standing out of the ruins. "Who are they?" He turned to the Dracomon Brothers. "Dracomon! There's something you should both see!" The Dracomon Brothers rushed over and spotted the three people.
"Who are they?" The first Dracomon asked.
"Like I know," Vorvomon said. "But we should follow them."
"But what about Agumon and the humans?" The first Dracomon asked.
"He's right. Wasn't our goal to Digivolve into our Ultimate forms?" The second Dracomon asked.
"We can worry about that later. Now, let's get moving," Vorvomon said. Saturn and the Team Galactic grunts entered the ruins. The three dragon Digimon flew right over to the statue of Dialga and hid behind it not to be seen. Saturn did notice them and grinned.
Inside the ruins, Saturn took out a Pokéball and tossed it.
"Bronzor! Flash!" Saturn ordered. Bronzor came on out and lit up the entire room. Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers follows them inside the ruins.
Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon are joined by Dawn, Aipom, Kenny and Prinplup.
"It's true. Dialga and Palkia," Sora said.
"These are the Solaceon Ruins. The ruins of the temple where people once paid tribute to Dialga and Palkia. There are lots of places like this in Sinnoh," Kenny said.
"Didn't we come across something liek this before?" Patamon asked.
"We did. It was when we met Cynthia, remember?" Sora asked. Aqua spots writing. It was the Unown taking the shapes of letters.
"Look at this," Aqua said. "'When every life meets another life, something will be born.' I heard that before," Aqua said.
"That's so true!" Kenny said. "You said you heard that from Cynthia the Elite Champion?"
"Yeah. I battled Cynthia once and I lost. I was only able to take down her Garchomp. I had some strong Pokémon sent after her, and she took them down like it wasn't a problem," Sora said.
"Wow, it's so cool that you met Cynthia," Kenny said.
"It says the same thing," Terra said.
"You're right, it does," Ventus said.
"You think it has something to do with Dialga and Palkia?" Tentomon asked. Sora took out his Pokédex and looked up Palkia.
Palkia, the Spatial Pokémon
Type: Water/Dragon
Palkia is said to have the ability to distort space and live in a gap in the spatial dimension parrellel into our own. It says that space becomes more stable with Palkia's every breath.
"Space becomes stable from Palkia's every breath," Sora repeated.
"Say, Sora, how about we have a match right now?" Kenny asked.
"Aren't you worried about a Digimon showing up and interuppting like Okuwamon and all those Kuwagamon?" Sora asked.
"I'm sure it'll be fine. Let's make it a one-on-one battle," Kenny suggested.
"Sure thing," Sora said.
"But who can make the first move?" Kenny asked.
"I can fix that," Sora said, showing him a coin app.
"A coin app?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah. I was fiddling with it and thought it was a good idea to have one. Don't you have one?" Sora asked. Kenny hung his head in shame.
"No I don't," Kenny admitted sadly.
"That's okay. The Magikarp side is heads and the other side is tails. Which one do you want?" Sora asked.
"Tails," Kenny said. Sora pressed his Pokétch and flipped the coin. The coin lands on heads.
"Heads. I go first," Sora said. He looked right at Kenny's Prinplup. "He'll probably use Prinplp again like the last time, but I have an ace up my sleeve. Pikachu, you'll have to sit this one out."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go right in, Thwackey!" Sora's Thwackey came on out to battle Kenny.
"All right!" Kenny said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Breloom!" He threw it and his Breloom comes out to battle.
"I wasn't expecting that, but a another Grass Type will be more than enough against Thwackey," Sora said.
"Thwackey! Double Hit!" Sora ordered. Thwackey heads over to Breloom to land a couple of hits onto the mushroom Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Kenny called out. Breloom dodges Thwackey's Double Hit just by jumping out of the way. But Thwackey also jumped and landed a couple of hits onto Breloom. "That's one agile Thwackey."
"Now, use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Thwackey prepares to fire Razor Leaf right at the mushroom Pokémon to do some damage.
"Use Mach Punch!" Kenny ordered. Breloom ran towards Thwackey to deliever Mach Punch onto the grass monkey Pokémon. Breloom has successfully landed Mach Punch.
"Wow, that was a fast and strong Mach Punch," Sora said.
"You gotta admit, my Breloom's good!" Kenny said.
"There's no denying that, Kenny. I can tell you trained your Breloom pretty hard to get it done. Thwackey, you okay?" Sora asked.
"Thack!" Thwackey replied.
"Great! Now, use Drain Punch!" Sora ordered. Thwackey came at Breloom to land a Drain Punch. Thwackey's fist becomes surrounded in a green orb of energy. He then punches the mushroom Pokémon. When Drain Punch lands a hit, sparkling green orbs of energy fly out of the opponent and into Thwackey, draining Breloom's energy. Thwackey has healed from his injuries. Dawn was amazed by Sora's Thwackey.
"When did Thwackey learn how to use Drain Punch?" Dawn asked.
"Aipom?" Aipom asked.
"Thwackey learned how to use Drain Punch yesterday, so he that's why he sent out Thwackey," Ventus said.
"Okay, Thwackey! use another Drain Punch!" Sora ordered. Thwackey came at Breloom with another Drain Punch.
"Energy Ball!" Kenny ordered. Breloom fires Energy Ball right at the beat Pokémon and what a hit it landed.
"Wow, that was an impressive Energy Ball!" Meowth said.
"That was beautiful," Dawn said.
Thwackey took a bad hit, but not too much damage since they were both Grass Type Pokémon. Thwackey shook it right off.
"That was an impressive Energy Ball, Kenny," Sora said.
"Yeah. I'm glad we're both Grass Types since it keeps the damage to a minimum," Kenny said.
"Was Kenny saving that for a finisher?" Terra asked.
"Knowing Kenny, he was going to show off," Dawn said. "He did the same thing before."
Inside the ruins, Saturn and the Team Galactic grunts walked down a stairway to search for the secrets of Palkia and Dialga. Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers were following them to see what they were up to.
They folow them into a chamber. The whole chamber was filled with inscriptions of the Unown.
The plates, please," Saturn instructed.
"Splash Plate set," the male grunt said, placing a blue plate in his position.
"Iron Plate set," the female grunt said, placing a silver plate in her position.
"Draco Plate set," Saturn said, placing a reddish-purple plate in his position. The three plates starts to give off a bright glow. Saturn grinned. "Yes, exactly as our leader said." The three dragon Digimon were confused.
"Leader?" Vorvomon asked.
The Unown inscriptions all start glowing one by one. Saturn looks around and he smiles some more.
"I hope you're enjoying the view, whatever you are," Saturn said.
"What the?" Vorvomon asked. Out of the light, a cube emerges from it. Saturn walks towards it.
"Tell me. Know what this is?" Saturn asked. Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers head right towards them.
"Some kind of cube," Vorvomon answered.
"The kind that will transform Sinnoh Space-Time into reality!" Saturn said. The inscriptions were revelaed to be the Unown themselves.
"What is going on?" The second Dracomon asked.
"Unknown! Open!" Saturn ordered. "We shall change the world. The cube that you now guard contains the very power that will make this all possible. And so it is!" The Unown sttempts to attack them.
"Bronzor! Confuse Ray!" Saturn ordered. Bronzor launches Confuse Ray onto the Unown. Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers shielded their eyes and they saw Team Galactic were gone.
"Where did they go?!" Vorvomon exclaimed. The Unown then launched their attack on the dragon Digimon.
Outside the ruins, Kairi, Angel, Dawn, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Angel, Meowth, and Aipom were sitting on the steps. Terra and Aqua got off, but Kairi, Ventus, Dawn, Angel, and Meowth were swept with the steps.
"Kairi! Ven!" Sora gasped.
"Dawn!" Kenny gasped.
"Ven!" Terra and Aqua gasped.
Inside the ruins, Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers got struck by the Unown's Hidden Power.
"Those things are crazy!" The first Dracomon exclaimed.
"Just fly, you idiots!" Vorvomon commanded. The three Digimon flew to get away from the Unown, but they got struck hard. Sora, Terra, Aqua, Kenny, Pikachu Prinplup, Breloom, and the Digimon all ran right inside the ruins just when the staircase was sealing them inside.
Elsewhere on the Solaceon Ruins, Saturn smiled as he holds the cube in his hands.
"At last, the Spear Key. With this, we are now one step closer to the Spear Pillar," Saturn said. A Team Galactic helicopter comes flying down and picks them up.
Inside the ruins, the whole place is glowing red.
"Where are we?" Sora asked.
"The walls look like thier blocked win," Terra said. Kenny was freaking out. "Kenny, what's wrong?"
"Th-th-th-the walls are all werid!" Kenny shivered.
"What the hell?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Sora, we gotta find Kairi, Dawn, and Ven. And get out of here," Aqua said.
"You're right, Aqua. Let's get to it," Sora said.
"Yeah!" All the Digimon all said.
"Right," Kenny said. He and his Pokémon went with Sora, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, and the Digimon to find their missing friends, unaware that the Unown are watching them.
Over to Kairi, Ventus, Dawn, Angel, Meowth, and Aipom, they were lucky that they're in one piece.
"Are you okay?" Kairi asked with concern.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"We are," Ventus said.
"I still have all nine of my lives," Meowth said.
"I'm okay," Dawn said.
"Aipom," Aipom said.
"That's great. How do we get out?" Kairi asked.
"That's a good question," Dawn said. She notices the walls moving. "K-Kairi. The walls." Kairi turned around and saw the walls with the Unown anrigly staring at them.
"Unown!" Kairi gasped.
The Unown attacks with Hidden Power. They all duck their heads as Angel and Aipom blocks with Swift.
"That was close," Ventus said.
"Let's go!" Kairi said. They all rushed to get away from the symbol Pokémon. They were going up some stairs, but they don't appear to go anywhere.
"Where are these sytairs going?!" Ventus asked.
"Who cares! Just keep on running!" Meowth exclaimed. They stopped in their tracks when the Unown launched their attacks again. Kairi, Ventus, Dawn, Angel, Meowth, and Aipom duck their heads as they missed. Dawn took out her Pokéball and opens it to let out her Piplup.
"Aipom! Use Swift! Piplup! Use Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered.
"Angel! You use Swift too!" Kairi ordered.
Piplup fires Bubble Beam as Angel and Aipom fires Swift at the attacking Unown. The smoke clears and they looked around to see what they were doing and they leave. The stairs they were on vanishes as they looked around.
"What was that?" Ventus asked.
"It was an illusion. It was made by those Unown," Kairi said.
"Why did they attack us?" Dawn asked.
"I don't know, but it looks bad up ahead," Kairi said. They looked ahead and they saw more illusions.
Over to Sora, Terra, Aqua, Kenny, Pikachu, Prinplup, Breloom, and the Digimon, they were atttacked by the Unown as well.
"Why are they attacking us?" Sora sked.
"Something must have happened to get them so confused," Aqua said. The Unown glares right at them.
"Looks like we have no other choice but to fight back," Agumon said. Pikachu launches a Thunderbolt on the Unown as the Digimon all alunched their attacks on them as well.
Agumon, "Pepper Breath!"
Gabumon, "Blue Blaster!"
Biyomon, "Spiral Twister!"
Tentomon, "Super Shocker!"
Palmon, "Poison Ivy!"
Gomamon, "Marching Fishes!"
Patamon, "Boom Bubble!"
Gatomon, "Cat Laser!"
Veemon, "Vee Shot!"
Hawkmon, "Feather Strike!"
Armadillomon, "Diamond Shell!"
Wormmon, "Sticky Net!"
The Digimon all fire their attacks at the Unown. Veemon fires a blast of energy from his mouth. Prinplup fires Bubble Beam at the Unown as Breloom fires Energy Ball. The attacking Unown were knocked back to their senses and undid the illusions.
"The confuion worn off. They're back to normal," Terra said.
"What confused them i the first place?" Armadillomon asked.
"I don't think I want to know," Hawkmon said.
"But we still have to look for Kairi, Dawn, and Ven," Sora said.
Speaking of which, Kairi, Ventus, Dawn, Angel, Meowth, Piplup, and Aipom run ahead as they spotted more Unown.
"All right, Piplup! Use Whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. Piplup forms a huge whirlpool above him and sends it to the Unown. The attack has knocked the Unown back to their senses and took off, undoing some their illusions. Just then, Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers has come out a stairway, running.
"Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers!" Ventus said.
"You!" Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers exclaimed.
"Is this your doing?" Kairi asked.
"No, it wasn't us!" Vorvomon said. Just then, another hoarde of attacking Unown came.
"More Unown!" Meowth said.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fires Swift at the Unown and it struck them. They kept on attacking as Aipom attacked using Double Hit on the Unown. Aipom does a little flip and then started to evolve, catching everyone off guard.
"What's going on?" The second Dracomon asked.
"Aipom's evolving!" Meowth said.
"Ambi! Ambipom!" The newly evolved Ambipom called out.
"Wow! Ambipom!" Ventus said.
"No time to be celebrating! Here they come!" Meowth said. And Mewoth was right, because the Unown were charging right at them.
"Quick, Ambipom! Swift! Let's go!" Dawn ordered. The newly evolved Ambipom unleashed Swift and struck all the attacking Unown.
"That was impressive," the Dracomon Brothers said.
"Yeah," Vorvomon said.
The Unown took their leave as they were undoing the illusions as Sora, Terra, Aqua, Kenny, the Pokémon, and the Digimon all show up and spots them.
"Kairi! Ven!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu called out to Angel.
"What are you doing on the ceiling?" Palmon asked.
"You guys must need glasses, because you're the ones on the ceiling," Ventus said.
Once the illusion was completely gone, it was revealed that Kairi, Ventus, Dawn, Angel, Meowth, and the dragon Digimon were falling to the ground. Sora went to catch Kairi in his arms as Pikachu rushed to save Angel.
"Quick! Marching Fishes!" Gomamon shouted as several fish came and caught the rest of them as Sora and Pikachu caught their signifigant others. Gomamon sighed. "That was close."
"Thank you, fishies!" Dawn said.
"Are you okay, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"Yes, thanks to you," Kairi replied. She wrapped her arms around Sora's neck and she kissed him for saving her. He kisses her back. Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers blushed madly as did Kenny as they looked away. Then they saw the stairs open.
"Hey! Look!" Kenny said.
"The exit is opening up for us!" Meowth said.
"We're out!" Gatomon said.
"But what heppened to cause that whole thing to happen in the first place?" Gabumon asked.
"And what cuased those Pokémon to go insane?" Wormmon asked.
"It was some humans that did that. We followed them inside," Vorvomon said.
"Yeah, we did," The first Dracomon said.
A few minutes later, everyone were catching their breath after what happened inside the Solaceon Ruins.
"I gotta hand it to you, Dawn, you were amazing. You and your Pokémon saved the day," Kairi said. Dawn beamed having to be comlimented by Kairi.
"Thank you, Kairi. I'm just gla it's over before it got worse," Dawn said. Kairi smiled right back.
"Well, I would like to say that the day is yours this time, but don't let your guard down, because we'll get you next time. And by then, we'll be Digivolving into our Ultimate forms and make yours look like Baby level Digimon in comparison! So, adios, losers!" Vorvomon said as he and the Dracomon Brothers flown off.
"Just who were those jokers anyway?' The second Dracomon asked.
"Don't know, don't care. When we see them again, we'll do the same thing to them like we'll do to Agumon and his friends. And then, Myotismon will claim this world and cover it in eternal darkness!" Vorvomon said.
In the Digital World, Mercurymon, Ranamon, Arbormon, and Grumblemon gathered around for a meeting.
"You think we go into real world like Devimon do?" Grumblemon asked.
"I do. The human world is full of possibilities. And we can deal with the Resistance squad there. Guilmon and his foolish friends are there if thou hast forgotten. We will find the humans they are allied with and destroy them. The threat against Myotismon shall disappear," Mercurymon said.
"Right! Those mooks won't know what hit 'em!" Arbormon said.
"We'll rain on their little parade!" Ranamon said, doing a little giggle.
"Come. We have much to do," Mercurymon said. "And little time to do it." Mercurymon and the other three Digimon followed.
Over to Etemon's trailer, the Monochromon pulls the wagon as the trailer enters a Digital Gate and enters through an area close to Solaceon Town. The Gazimon were monitoring the screen.
"Etemon, it looks like we're not in the Digital World anymore," one of the Gazimon said. Etemon checked the monitor and knew he was in the real world.
Back in Solaceon Town, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon are sleeping as Sora and Kairi were still awake.
"What are you thinking about, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Just wondering if Dawn is going to do good unlike the last time," Sora said.
"Me too. The I should hope that the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament did the trick to get her spirits up," Kairi said.
"And I hope you're right. I guess we'll have to wait and see what heppens afterwards," Sora said. "Good night, Kairi."
"Good night, Sora," Kairi said, giving him a kiss. He kisses her back and they both fell asleep. They could only hope that Dawn does better in this Pokémon Contest.
