After she adjusted to the brightness she looked down to her left side to see a mop of green hair which tickled her nose. She moved a bit to see his face and kindly smiles at his sleeping form.
Over night they had shifted a bit. Dekus head laid on her shoulder, his arm was wrapped around her waist and his leg was draped over hers. If he would be awake she would be flustered by their positions but right now she was just happy. Oh, how she wished she could wake up like this every day.
She just watched him for a while. For Ochako it seemed like a few seconds but in reality it was nearly half an hour.
She only stopped watching him because he stirred and drowsily opened his eyes. He needed a few moments to focus on his surroundings and then looked at her.
He smiled at her, with the probably most beautiful smile she had ever seen, and quietly. "Hi."
"Hi." She said with a kind smile. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, surprisingly I have slept well." He answered and slowly sat up with a groan.
"What's wrong?" Ochako asked with a concerned look.
"I'm fine. Just have a headache. I think I overdid it a bit yesterday, that's all."
"I have painkillers if you need some."
"Nah, I think I'm gonna be fine. But thank you." He said and gave her a big smile again.
Ochako was so glad that he seemed to be doing better. The smiles she got from him all were real, true smiles and not the fake ones he wore so often.
Both of them were just watching each other for a few moments, before blushing and quickly looking away.
"U-Uhm... A-Are you hungry? I could something for us." She said flustered. Oh god, what if he knew that she had a big crush on him? What if he knew that she was in love with him? What if-
"You... you don't need to do that. I've burdened you enough already. It's fine, uhm... I will just go and uhm... well, uhm..." He stuttered while standing up and stumbling to the door but was stopped by a hand grabbing his wrist. He turned around and saw that she was looking at him with an angry expression on her face and tears in her eyes.
"Wha- Ochako why are you crying?" He worriedly asked.
She threw herself in his arms and began to yell at him.
"When will you understand that you are not a burden?! You never will be one and if I wouldn't want to help you I wouldn't do so! So stop saying such mean things over my best friend and just accept that I won't leave you!"
He is speechless. How could such a great person like Ochako like him? Especially if she knew about his quirk!
They stayed in their hugged position for a few minutes and as they parted they looked at each other.
"Alright. I will ask again. Are you hungry?" She asked with a pout and put her hands on her hips.
He seemed to hesitate for a moment and then opened his mouth to answer but was interrupted by the loud growl of his stomach.
"Hm. Seems like I have my answer, huh?" She said with a teasing smile. That comment made him blush but it disappeared as soon as he looked at the clock and saw the time.
"Oh crap! We overslept Ochako! We have to go to school!" He said and started running around with panic.
"Deku!"
He stopped and looked at her perplexed.
"Deku, we have off today, remember? Aizawa gave us off to calm down and rest. We don't need to go to school today."
His eyes widened as he remembered the day before.
"Oh no. Everyone saw what happened! I have to apologize to them! Oh my god they have to so scared! Crap and I have to pay for the room! Now they all hate me and I will be alone again and..." He began to mumble at the end and Ochako was shocked again. He just couldn't believe the possibility that the others wouldn't be scared of him. Once again she decided to punch everyone in Dekus past.
The girl laid her hands on his shoulders, to interrupt his mumbling and to make him look at her.
"Deku, calm down. Nobody will be scared of you. And they wont hate you either. Please believe me Izuku." She said.
He looked confused at first but then nodded after a few moments.
To change the topic she asked him if just eggs and bacon would be okay for breakfast. He nodded again with a warm smile and Ochako could just think how cute this boy was.
"But I have to go to the bathroom first and I have to change." She said.
He nodded. "Yeah sure. Umm... I will just wait in the kitchen then?"
"Are you sure? You could wait here if you want?"
He blushed and nodded again. "Y-Yeah I have to go to the bathroom too. I will just wait in the kitchen for you. Take your time."
She nodded and Deku left her room. A few moments passed while she tried to bring her blush back under control.
Lost in thought she took a new change of clothes out of her closet and went to the bathroom. While she was getting ready she thought about everything that happened. Just how could she get it inside of his head that he was not something to be scared of? She had to make sure that he knows that she will be there for him no matter what?
Quite apart from that she had many questions but she wasn't sure if she could ask them. The day before he panicked at the thought to tell her something and now that he seemed to be better she wouldn't want him to relapse.
She decided to wait till after breakfast and depending on his mood she would decide if she could as him some questions.
After getting ready Ochako walked out of her room and to the elevator. While she was getting down she wondered what Izuku would do right now. She could perfectly imagine him sitting on a chair and waiting nervously for her while bouncing his knee.
She hadn't expect him to stand in the middle of the kitchen with closed eyes seemingly deep in concentration.
She noticed that around him some things were flying around. A pan, a pack of eggs, a pack of bacon, a whisk, a bowl and a saltcellar were floating from their storage to the kitchen counter and when they were placed there Izuku stopped using his quirk and opened his eyes. He turned around and as he saw her standing in the doorway he jumped a little.
"Oh! Hey, uhm... I haven't noticed you're here already! I'm sorry, I... uhm..." He trailed off and seemed to look everywhere except her. She chuckled and walked forward, before stopping in front of him.
"It's okay Izuku. I'm glad that you're using your quirk. I'm sure that has to be a great progress for you!" She said with a happy laugh and received a smile on his part.
"Y-Yeah...I just thought... I thought that if... well if everyone has already seen my quirks, I could just use them in battle a little. And... well and if I want to do that... I will need more training..." He said blushing and looked at his feet. Without hesitating she answered and Izuku could feel that she was telling the truth.
"Izuku that's great! I'm so happy that you want to use your quirks!" She said with a laugh, throwing her arms around his neck.
For a few seconds both were happily hugging until Izuku talked again.
"I... I still can't understand why you wouldn't be scared of me. But I can feel it. You're not scared or disgusted..." The last part he mumbled to himself and Ochako could barely understand it. But she did.
"What do you mean you can feel it Izuku?" She asked.
His eyes widened and his expression became serious. "I-I'm gonna answer every question you have but I think we should start to eat first?" He said but it sounded more like a question.
"Are you sure? You don't have to answer anything if you don't want to." She said and laid her hand on his right cheek.
He just nodded in answer.
"Okay! Then I'm gonna cook now!" She said happily and walked towards the kitchen counter.
"But I can't let you cook alone." Izuku said and began to walk to her.
"Hm. Hey I have an idea! What if you sit down and use your telekinesis to bring me the things I need?" Ochako suggested with a smile.
Now Izuku was even more surprised. Not only that she accepted him and his quirks, no she even wanted him to use them! This girl confused him more and more with every second. Soon he noticed that he was staring at her the whole time, so he just nodded and sat down on one of the chairs.
The blushing girl turned around quickly and began to cook scrambled eggs with bacon. A few times she asked him if he could hand her something and sometimes he needed a few attempts to really grasp it. A few eggs and a glass was broken at that, but at the end they managed it and Ochako could already see some progress in his quirk control.
They both sat down and began to eat in comfortable silence and Ochako sometimes couldn't resist to watch him.
She could see that his shoulders weren't tensed as much as the day before. All in all he seemed to be relaxed and he had a small smile on his lips which triggered a smile on hers.
He cleared his throat and looked at her with uncertainty. "So... What do you want to ask? I'm sure you must've many questions?"
"Yeah, I have questions, but I won't ask them if you're not sure you want to answer them." With a reassuring face she looked at him and laid a hand on his forearm. "Let us eat first and you can think about if you want to tell me or not, okay?"
He nods gratefully and both of them continued to eat. After 10 minutes they were ready and Izuku asked her if he should use his quirk to clean up.
"Yeah sure. Only if you want to of course."
He nodded and closed his eyes to concentrate. His hands were moving to be outstretched towards their plates and they slowly began to float towards the sink. Dekus hands moved with the plates and then they moved down to place the plates in the sink. With a small clattering sound they safely landed on the surface. He turned his right hand around so that his palm looked to the ceiling, he moved it up a bit and the faucet turned on. Deku released a relieved breath, before looking at her with small but clearly proud smile.
"Good job!" She exclaimed and couldn't help but be proud of him.
He gave her a beaming smile that blinded Ochako.
"I would try to really clean them with my quirk but I don't think that's a good idea since I one time managed to destroy one of the steel doors in the orphanage just because I had sneezed." He laughed and she joined him and laughed herself. The thing with the orphanage she would just ignore for now. She could still ask about that later.
They cleaned up the dishes and then moved to the common room where they sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes but then he sighed, leaned back and looked at her. "So... What do you want to know?"
She could see that he was tense but he did not seem be panicked.
"Are you really sure?" She asked once again just to make sure.
"I trust you. And I don't know why, but I have the feeling that you need to know everything. And with everything I mean EVERYTHING. So it would be easier to begin with the questions you have."
She nods and thinks for a moment. "Well, if it's okay... Would you tell me more about your quirk?"
"Well... I don't know everything about it either. I have in 10 quirks in total. But as for now only 5 of them have awakened. My own one not included." He said. He decides to leave out one for all for now. He would talk to All Might if it would be okay to tell her.
"But if only have 5 have awakened, then how do you know that you have 10 quirks?" She asked.
"After my father found out about my quirk... He forced me to go a hospital... He took my hand and walked with me through the corridors of the intensive care unit. I didn't understand back then, but now I know that he did that because there were dying people everywhere." He made a small pause to let the information sink in before he ran a hand through his hair, sighed and looked at the ceiling.
"My quirk don't really acquires to SEE someone die. It's has a range of a few meters in which I take someone's quirk when they die. It also works through walls... So my father took me there and we walked through the halls for a few hours. After that he drove home with me and in the car he told me I could be a strong villain with 10 quirks someday. I don't know for sure if it really were 10 quirks..."
"I'm seriously gonna punch your father if I ever see him." She said with a serious expression.
He scoffed but didn't say something about that.
It was quiet for a minute so she asked. "What quirks have awakened so far?"
"As so far I have "Telekinesis", "Pyrokinesis", "Hacking" "Force Field" and "Emotion Sharing"." He looked at her as if he was waiting for some kind of outburst from her side. But she only looked fascinated and curious.
"What does each one of them do exactly?" She asked. Well, that's understandable. She wanted to know of what exactly she had to be scared of.
"Well, telekinesis is just what it says. Telekinesis. The ability to move an object with my mind in a range around me. But my telekinesis has a little twist. Normally the user of telekinesis can only move objects with a certain mass. But I can move molecules. I can pretty much move anything I want in a range of about 600 meters around me. I can move even the air. I can make winds or whirls or something like that."
Ochako was fascinated. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and interest. "Wow! That's so cool! You will be an even greater hero if you really want to use it in battle!"
This girl was surprising him more and more. She thought that his quirks were... cool? But what surprised him most of all was that she had said "will be an even greater hero". She seemed to be firmly convinced that he already was a hero. He couldn't help but smile at the thought.
"Thank you." He said with a grateful smile on his lips. She sweetly smiled back at him and made a gesture to let him know that he could continue if he wanted to.
"Well, the next one is "Pyrokinesis". I can move fire with it. Technically I could even move lava with it, but I never tested that. Would be difficult to stand inside of an active volcano." He said with a smirk and Ochako giggled at his joke.
"But couldn't you just move fire or lava with your telekinesis instead of pyrokinesis?" The girl asked.
"Yeah I could. But it's a hell lot easier with pyrokinesis then with telekinesis. I have more control and precision with it."
She nodded in understanding and told him once again how cool this was.
"Then I have "Hacking". With that I can hack pretty much anything as long as I'm connected to a terminal and WiFi."
Now she was confused. "How should you be connected to a terminal? After all you can't connect yourself per cable with a computer or something like that."
In answer he began to laugh and she was glad that he could still laugh like this.
She scoffed a small laugh and asked. "What?"
He laughs for a few more seconds and then turns around with a hand holding up the view hair strands in his neck. There she could see two USB-ports on top of each other in the middle of his neck.
"Wow. Cool! How come I haven't seen them before?" She asked and brushed her fingers over the connections.
He chuckled and explained. "Well, normally my hair covers them but while training I cover them with a skin-colored plaster. And if somebody sees it I just say I cut myself while cutting my hair or something like that."
"Hm, okay. Looks like you actually CAN connect yourself per cable." She said with a happy laugh.
He let go of his hair and turns around to her again with a big smile on his face. "Yeah I'm a living adapter!" He said and laughs with closed eyes.
She laughs at his joke. She was so happy that he could still laugh like this!
"The next one is "Force Field"." He said and held up his hand around which then a light blue, see-through, spherical force field appeared.
Ochakos eyes shone with fascination. "Cool! Can I touch it?"
"Yeah sure." Astonishingly it was warm and she could feel that it was hard like a steel wall.
"Can you create it anywhere you want?" She asked.
"No not anywhere. I can create it only around my body in the form of a sphere. And I can create it around my whole body or just around certain body parts." For demonstration he stood up, walked a few steps forward and created a force field around his whole body. He could see the enthusiasm in her eyes and couldn't help but be a bit proud of his abilities. It was so relaxing to not have to hide or hold back his true powers that he could literally feel his crush on her grow on the spot.
"It's nearly indestructible. As far as I know it only can be destroyed by something as strong as a hydrogen bomb with the size of a detached house."
"Wow. If you really want to use your quirks in fights, then you're gonna be stronger than All Might!" She said with wide eyes and a fascinated face. "I guess." He chuckled, turned off the force field and sat down on the couch beside Ochako again.
"The last one that I know of is "Emotion Sharing". It works with direct skin contact. Basically I can sense what someone feels in that moment if I have direct skin contact with them. If I concentrate on it I can sense what exactly they feel towards me. The only drawback is that I can't turn it off... In elementary school the teachers told me that I should never touch somebody 'cause that would violate their privacy... I guess I got so used to it, that I'm a little uncomfortable if I touch somebody... Or well... I think I'm more scared that the others are uncomfortable if I touch them..." While he was talking tears began to fill his forest-green eyes and he looked down in shame.
He was really thinking that this was his fault... Ochako wanted to say something but he began to talk again.
"I got bullied a lot in middle school. They beat me up, held me down or sometimes even choked me and every time someone made skin contact with me, be it a punch or a slap I could feel their anger, disgust and pure hatred... I think that sensing their emotions was worse than the actual beatings..." He wiped away his tears with the back of his hand and looked at her. "That's why I'm so confused about you... Every time I touched you I never felt disgust or fear or anger or hatred or... well I never felt anything negative..."
She thought for a moment. She had an idea how she could help him but was she really ready to confess her crush to him? What if he rejected her? What if- No she wouldn't think like that now. She had to do that now. She slipped a bit closer to him and held her hand out to him.
"Use your quirk on me Izuku." She said with a confident look. Deku looked at her as if she had grown a second head but after a short hesitation he answered.
"A-are you sure? I w-wouldn't want to intrude your privacy..."
She nodded and pushed her outstretched hand a little more towards him to show him that she was sure. "I would never be disgusted or scared of you. And I want you to know what I really feel towards you."
She could see that he didn't really believe her and hesitated for another moment but slowly, very slowly put his hand in hers.
After a few moments he told her what he sensed. "Well, you seem to be feeling relaxed and happy..."
"Yeah that's true." She said with a big smile that reached her eyes. "If you concentrate you can sense what exactly I feel towards you, right?" He nodded in answer. "Yeah, but it's really difficult... Well... The nearer the place I touch is to the brain, the easier it would be for me, you know..." He said blushing and looking down. "B-but I can d-do it like this of c-course! B-but I probably will be getting a n-nosebleed and-" His stuttering got interrupted by small hands which placed his on both of her cheeks.
She smiled encouragingly at him. "It's okay Izuku. I will be easier like this right?" His face got even redder but he nodded and then closed his eyes to concentrate.
For a few seconds nothing happened but then the spot where there skins met began to glow in a faint violet light. Then after another few seconds he pulled his hands away as if she's burned him and he looked at her with eyes and a blush on his face.
"What's wrong?" She asked him, worrying if he just had rejected her. He looked down at both of his hands and apologized to her.
"U-Uhm... sorry but I think my quirk's not working properly right now."
"What do you mean?" She asked and moved a hand to touch his forearm but he flinched away and suddenly stood up and walked backwards away from her.
"Well... I... I felt s-something but... there's no way that t-this is really what you're feeling towards me, so..." He moved away more and his face became red so Ochako knew that he had sensed exactly what she really felt but just couldn't believe it and because of that he thought his quirk wasn't working the right way.
"What did you feel?" She asked with a light blush but a confident face.
"N-No I can't tell you! Y-you will laugh at m-me and you will hate me! In any case there's no way you – or anybody – could feel that way about me!" He yelled distraught and began to ran back and forth.
She stood up and walked to him but stopped a few feet away. "Izuku, please tell me." The brunette talked with a calm voice and he couldn't help but glance at her. "You can tell me. I would never laugh at you Izuku."
"W-Well... I felt... I felt... love... a-and... well in a... romantic way..." He whispered but talked louder after that and began to nervously throw his hands back and forth. "I know that you would never feel that way of course! And I know it's dumb to even consider that! B-but... Well... it's what I sensed... I apologize! There has to be something wrong with the quirk..." At the last sentence he took his hands back down and looked at them as if they personally offended him. "Not that you wouldn't be great, I mean I have feelings for you but – wait what am I saying? I'm sorry I will just-"
His mumbling got interrupted because she had laid both of her hands on his face and pulled him a bit closer. "Your quirk is working just fine Izuku..." His eyes widened and he blushed even more. "But... Then that means..." He said but trailed off because she pulled him closer.
"It's exactly what it means." She saw that he wanted to argue so she decided to prove her point by doing the only thing she could think of. She pulled him closer and closed her eyes. Their lips met and for a short moment nothing happened but then she could feel his hands on her hip. He was kissing her back!
The kiss was a bit clumsy because none of them had ever kissed anyone but for both of them it was just perfect.
They parted after a few seconds and as she opened her eyes she could see his eyes flutter open. He looked at her with tears in his eyes. Ochako could feel her eyes becoming wet too and she gave him the happiest look he had ever seen on her, which caused his tears to flow down his cheeks.
"I-is this... real?" He whispered.
"Yes this is real Izuku. I love you."
He got a happy and relieved smile on his face as he answered her confession. "I love you too Ochako." After that she was surprised as he pulled her into another kiss.
I love him so much...
