[Mission]
- Incident: Heroic Terror! (Ongoing)
Prize: 6666 Incident Points (Collect?)
- Daily Mission: Throw a cat to a dog (0/1)
Prize: 1 Gacha Ticket
Mai glances at the mission screen while sitting on her bed. The name of the incident has changed considerably from the first one. It wasn't a Crazy Flying Knife anymore because of various ways Mai used to put terrors into her victims, not just with knives. Especially the heroes, because they're not kids so they can take more of her harassment.
The incident was even once published in the newspaper. Well, it wasn't a hit because many people still didn't believe that it was real. Also, who the heck read newspaper in these days.
After all, there's the fact that this incident didn't cause any casualties at all. The only one who's worried about this was the hero agencies. Even the residents of the orphanage didn't cause much fuss about it anymore.
The hero agencies were worried because even when they put many heroes on patrol at the orphanage, the incident was still happening before their very eyes. Not only that, even the victims started to shift from the occupants of the orphanage to the heroes that they sent here.
They thought that the enemy was simply using some invisibility quirk, so they bring a device to detect them. In fact, Mai has been detected by the device once, but the one who used the device, couldn't feel her presence from it.
For instance, if she stood right in front of a CCTV, she would be caught in the video, but the one who watches the video, can't feel her presence in it. Also, if people use a radar device, the device will pick up her presence and beeped. But others can't hear the beep from the device. The device looks like it didn't pick up anything for them.
Mai was having so much fun, that she already forgot about her revenge on the children of the orphanage. It looks like she wouldn't be doing that anytime soon.
She then took notice of her daily mission for today. She carefully inspects it out to see if it was true or not. When she finally recognized it as real, her brain then began to work at the speed of light and came to a perfect conclusion. 'Yep, not doing it!'
Mai was a cat person. Throwing cat, in general, is already sacrilegious for her. As for throwing a cat at a dog, those who did so in front of her pretty much craved for a death sentence.
Mai got up from her bed and immediately went out to take a bath. When she came to the bathroom, she didn't use the water from the shower to wash but used her own water magic. After she finished, she cast her basic wind magic to dry herself off. She then immediately put on clean clothes and then went to the dining room for breakfast.
While having breakfast, she hears some rumors from the children that the famous pro hero, Ingenium, and his team, will come to this orphanage to end the incident. They look very happy when they start chatting about heroes.
'They were late,' Mai noted to herself. She has already planned to end the incident today from a long time ago. She prefers to do something else to get incident points.
Mai quickly ate her breakfast then returned to her room and start preparing for the upcoming night. She jumps into her bed, then rolls around so that her face starts facing the ceiling and opens up the mission page to looks at the incident part.
- Incident: Heroic Terror! (Ongoing)
Prize: 6677 Incident Points (Collect?)
Mai presses the Collect button.
[You have received 6677 Incident Points!]
[Incident Point: 1250 » 7927]
"Umu..." Mai murmured. After that, she began to open up her shop menu. She learns that the topmost item is the most expensive one. If she wants cheap items she must scroll down to the bottom or she can just change the setting from {expensive » cheap} into {cheap » expensive}.
The system also told her that she can just ask for the items she wants and it will display them to her. She could also search for the items manually. There's a Category menu in the top left corner of the shop screen.
After browsing for a while, Mai then found the stuff that she wanted. It was super-duper cheap, costing only one incident point for 1000 of them. And that is... yen.
She first comes across it a few days ago, when she had just learned the full extent of the shop's functions. That is what she wanted to buy, or could also be called an exchange, in this situation. 1 incident point can be exchanged for 1000 yen but not vice versa.
She thus exchanges 927 Incident points into 927.000 yen (100 yen = 1 USD Dollars of American). Why 927? It so that the remaining of her points became nice to look at.
[You have bought 927.000 yen using 927 incident points! Please check on your inventory!]
[Incident Point: 7927 » 7000]
Mai could be said to be a responsible individual. She's the type of person who's always responsible for a thing that she does willingly. But she deems that it wasn't her responsibility if it was an accident.
For example, if she crashes a motorcycle while driving because the person who's riding the motorbike suddenly slows down, she will not back down from arguing that she's innocent, even when the person she ran over loses their legs, their hands, or their pp. On the contrary, she would gladly go to jail, if, for some reason, she was just in the mood to crash someone and did the deed.
That's why, tonight, she will give 900.000 yen to the orphanage as compensation for the knives that she borrowed(stole and broke), the facilities that she destroyed, the mental damage of some children, and Bic's bananas. The rest will be kept for herself.
She then uses her ability, Infinite Inventory, and after that, a screen appears on her vision. It was filled with empty boxes except for one. She could see the money icon inside that one box. It seemed to be the same as Inventory from RPG games.
Next, she began to focus her mind on wanting to get the money out from her inventory. It was according to what the system explained to her. After she did that, a lot of money suddenly appeared out of thin air. They were all started floating down, making a mess out of her bedroom.
Mai's face would frown if they could. She has a preference for things that are beautiful and neat, so she always keeps her room clean. Now that her room became like this, of course, she wouldn't like it. Even if it all was filled with money.
Hence, she quickly put all the money back into her inventory. It turns out she could store them all at once. She then began to prepare some other stuff, like an apology letter, etc.
When Tensei Ida or also known as Turbo Hero: Ingenium, heard several rumors about many heroes who failed to solve the cases that occurred at an orphanage, he volunteered to carry out the mission.
Of course, he would also bring some members from his hero agency with him. He wouldn't underestimate this mission because many other heroes had failed it already. Not only that, but he was also someone who valued teamwork, believing that having a large group where everyone serves a specific purpose is the easiest way to get things done quickly.
Currently, they were inside a vehicle, going towards the supposed orphanage. He took notice of the sun that had almost completely disappeared. There's only a tiny bit of light leaking out. After driving for a few minutes, they finally arrived at their destination.
The head of the orphanage came out personally to receive them. But Tensei Ida is a man who didn't like a formality. He's too free-spirited. He just wants to do his job right away. The head only asked Ida and his teammates to join in for dinner before she would then tell them the details of the incident. Tensei can only nod his head after his friends force him to say yes.
While this was happening, Mai was already inside the head's office. From what she had seen in the past few days, the head of the orphanage is a righteous person so Mai didn't need to worry about her stealing money. But she's just too annoying that she always reprimanded the person who's doing something wrong, harshly, and for a long time with her voice enchanting quirk.
Even Mai got called to her office after the word spreads that she slapped Bic. That's how she found out about this place. It's great that she could act innocent like a typical five-year-old child to get away from most of her problems. If she's considered an adult, she would be half dead just by the nagging session alone.
'Yep, there's no one inside.' After Mai finished scanning the room, she took out the cash from her inventory. She had practiced using this ability all day and the money that she released looks neat and pleasant.
She didn't forget to also plaster an apology letter on top of the head's desk along with a kid's drawing that she drew, besides it. The drawing looks really creepy but Mai just didn't seem to discern it like that. She then promptly left the room to have her dinner.
After they finished dinner, the head of the orphanage, along with Tensei Ida and his teammates went toward the head's office to discuss about the incident. But when she opened the door, they were all shocked to see what was inside. There was just too much money on the floor.
The chief and the heroes quickly entered to inspect the room. The chief then found a writing on her desk. She reads it aloud while the others are approaching her.
"T-h-a-n-k-y-o-u f-o-r p-l-a-y-i-n-g w-i-t-h m-e-! S-o-r-r-y f-o-r t-h-e i-n-c-o-n-v-e-n-i-e-n-t-! G-o-o-d-b-y-e-!"
Next, they all glance at the drawing beside the writing. The paper was just filled with stickmen with red dot eyes holding each other's hand, but one of them was blurred and holding a knife. Those heroes were all shuddered somehow as they observed the kid's drawing.
But the head of the orphanage's expression scrunched up. She stares again at the drawing carefully. There was something odd about it and she knew it. After looking at it for several moments, she discovered what was strange. There were 218 stickmen inside the picture, and if she remembered correctly, that's the same number as the children who resided in the orphanage. She then peers at the one who's holding a knife. 'Coincidence?' She contemplated to herself.
