The first thing Nathan heard was the sound of cars honking their horns, people walking, and what sounds like the usual New York City sounds. When he opened his eyes, he found himself looking up at the night sky.
He got to his feet and looked to see he was in a deserted alleyway but filled with trasha dn who knows what else. Nathan looked back and fourth before heading over to the exit of the alleyway and looked to see a normal city of Manhattan, cars driving by, people going about their daily lives.
"Barry did it." Nathan breathed a sigh of relief, leaning against the wall with relief flooding through his entire feelings. He was happy to be out of that hellhole of a reality where everything was so fucked up it didn't make sense.
"Better make sure everything is normal." Nathan said to himself as the cape enveloped him before it faded away and revealed him in normal clothing consisting of a a gray tank top, black fingerless gloves, black faded jeans, black military boots, and a long stylish hooded coat with Western and Italian features, and a deep red, almost crimson color. The coat is short-sleeved, with numerous gold-colored studs decorating the shoulders, collar, and chest, and a single zipper on the front, yet Nathan doesn't bother zipping it up. (AN: Dante's DmC clothing, and his Devil May Cry 4 coat but with a hood)
Walking out of the alleyway, Nathan looked left and right before throwing his hood up and started making his way in the direction of his apartment.
When he got there...he was shocked.
Where his apartment was meant to be was an even taller and more elaborate building. Nathan's eyes narrowed at the sight before he went to the entrance and entered, finding a list of names of residents on the wall. He eyed the names, but saw none with his on it.
Nathan clenched his fists at this before he went up to the access roof, nearly kicking the door off it's hinge sin his anger. "Fuck! What the hell is going on? Barry should've fixed everything, so why in the hell is mine and Diana's apartment not the way it should be?!"
"Oh, such anger, lose something, Nathan?" A familiar voice asked with a demonic chuckle following it.
Nathan growled and whirled around to see Mephisto standing there in his demonic form, smirking darkly at him. Nathan lunged at the demon but was grabbe dby the throat and felt his neck nearly get crushed under the demon's grip.
"I really, really hoped that nightmare reality would destroy you for good. But that annoying speedster has changed things in his goal to change everything back to normal." Mephisto growled before he slammed Nathan into the floor, then brought his fist into Nathan's gut hard, making him groan and cough in pain as the demon started pacing around him.
"Because of this new change, a lot of things are different." Mephisto began to explain as Nathan glared up at him. "People who should be around are not anymore and those who are different and…my children aren't back in my realm or at the very least alive!"
He ended that last part with a demonic growl as he glared at Nathan.
"Not...my fault." Nathan coughed. "Barry was the one who changed everything."
"Perhaps...but you did cause the death of my son and imprisoned my daughter." Mephisto said darkly.
"Get a life, Mephisto." Nathan grunted as he tried getting to his feet but Mephisto slammed his foot into his back, making cry out in pain. "That one hurt."
"Oh, that's just the beginning of the pain you are going to feel." Mephisto chuckled darkly as he looked down at Nathan with evil intentions and malice. "Soon, everything and care about...will come crashing down and leave you with nothing…"
Nathan watched the demon vanish with narrowed eyes before he groaned as he stood back up and quickly left the building's rooftop, he had to find out just what the hell was going all the while keeping what Mephisto said to him in the back of his mind...
Several hours later, Nathan found a library and got on one of the computers there to start searching up this world's history and hope things were the same or at least still the same.
He did not like what he uncovered in his research.
The Justice League didn't exist here, nor did any of the variants over the years, The Justice Society, Teen Titans, Titans, or Outsiders exist either and many of the heroes who made up the teams over the years either have yet to appear or don't exist at all or were just starting out. Metahumans were either feared or hated and...he wasn't married to Diana here!
"Why am I not surprised?" Nathan muttered as he rubbed his forehead. "It's like life and the Universe, or Multiverse, is going out of it's way to keep me unhappy for it's sick pleasure."
The Diana of this world was vastly different compared to how he remembered her. She seemed younger for starters, more brash and seemed a bit prone to fighting first and negotiating afterwards, a far cry from the level headed warrior princess he fell in love with so many years ago and yet he can still see parts of her that show that while she may be younger she's still the woman he's come to love.
'Though, it must be weird that I find her being violent to be kinda hot after what she did to London...plus she's rocking that red and silver outfit.' Nathan thought as he looked at a picture of Diana in her usual outfit, but the gold was replaced by silver, but the red was still there.
He glanced at the clock and saw he had half an hour left until this place closes for the day, so he hurried his searches up and quickly looked up for himself, hoping the Nathan Nolan of this world lived a better life than he did.
What he saw shocked him.
There was no Nathan Nolan, son of Sarah and David Nolan here. His mother and father didn't have children, his father was actually a successful businessman, and didn't walk out on his wife, and Sarah...she couldn't have children so they adopted two kids, a boy and girl. They were now 13 years old, the family lived in LA, California.
Nathan closed his eyes, sighing and leaned back in his chair. Fate must really hate him to do this to him. He logged off and left the library, throwing his coat hood up and walked down the street, lost in his thoughts...
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it, and Nathan's reactions to seeing how this world is different and he doesn't exist. His father and mother were still together, but they had to adopt children.
