Okay, here's the final chapter of the Little Dinosaur Girl before I finish up the Little Girl and the Predacon story. I know I should give Rexy a mate, and I did, but I don't if you guys would like it if I shipped her with a certain sailed dinosaur.
And the title for the Camp Cretaceous story is called 'The Little Girl goes to Camp Cretaceous' since it has more votes.
Enjoy the last chapter.
Few weeks have passed since the death of Mortem, so far, there was no sign of Mortem's men. They either perished by Mortem's monstrous form or were able to escape from the authorities. All in all, Tim was assigned to investigate Mortem's work since he was the one successfully able to terminate him. But truth be told, he couldn't have done it without the help of Owen and his friends, along with the dinos. And even though Mortem was gone, Val was in the safe custody of Special Forces. Information about her remains classified and only Tim has access since Carl and Owen trust him with the secret. And as Marco, the former second in command has no charges against him since he was forced to do it in order to save his daughter. And thanks to Masrani's lawyers, he got out scot-free. Marco was grateful for what they did to him and his daughter. Owen even suggested that Marco should work with security, which Masrani agrees since Marco is capable of self defense, unlike Hoskins and his men.
Marco agrees to work, but he's not doing company housing since he wasn't comfortable with people yet. Owen then again suggested that Marco should have a cabin for him and Quinn to live. Marco liked that idea and decided to build a nice cabin close to the park. They can even stay with Owen and Val until the cabin is complete, much to Quinn's delight since she took a liking to Val. She always wanted a little sister to play with. Owen, Barry, Mike, Jay, and some construction workers helped Marco build the cabin. Quinn and Val would be watched over by Sofia and Alex since they're good babysitters for them. Carl stayed and worked for Jurassic World as a scientist, helping Dr. Wu observes and examines Quinn, checking if she inherited any power from Project Alpha. So far, there were no changes yet, but Quinn's body has begun showing great deal of healing. The sickness has vanished like it was nothing. Making Wu and Carl wonder how powerful Project Alpha is.
"So, any changes happening, Quinn?" Wu asked her with a clipboard in hand.
He and Carl were in a private laboratory, where Quinn was sitting on a chair, a scientific helmet was on her head as it showed her brainwaves. Carl was observing the brainwaves while Wu checked on Quinn. There was no sign of any changes within Quinn yet. They guess that her power must still be dormant within her.
"Not much, but I did a cartwheel this morning." Quinn answered with a smile.
"You did a cartwheel?" Wu asked curiously.
"Yeah, people say that it takes time to practice, but it took only a minute." Quinn said happily.
"Hmmm…interesting." Wu mutters as he wrote that down before turning to Carl. "Do you think the serum is giving her advanced reflexes and agility?"
"Could be, but let's try something." Carl suggested as he took out a metal coin from his pocket. "Quinn, can you try and bend this coin?"
"Um…okay?" Quinn said hesitantly as she took the coin from Carl. And before she knew it, she bends the coin without any effort. "Is…Is this supposed to bend so much?"
"Technically, yes. I believe Project Alpha has given you super strength along with advanced reflexes and agility." Carl explained her power, surprising both her and Wu.
"Incredible." Wu said as he wrote it down. "I guess Project Alpha is filled with surprises."
"Hey, if Project Alpha gives power, wouldn't Val receive powers as well?" Quinn asked the two scientists.
"Huh, never thought of that way." Wu said before turning towards Carl. "Did Val receive any powers?"
"Some, yes, but some powers to her are born naturally." Carl explained to Wu.
"What do you mean by that?" Wu asked curiously.
"In due time, Dr. Wu. Anyways Val's powers are based on controlling elements." Carl explains Val's powers.
"Like…controlling fire with her mind?" Quinn guessed out.
This earns a nod from Carl. "Indeed, she has many hidden secrets within her, but now, let's ask your father if he can give you some sparing matches. That way, you can control your power carefully."
Quinn grins at this, "That's awesome! My dad always wanted to teach me some basic self-defense." She said happily.
Carl chuckled at this. "I bet he does."
"By the way, Dr. Wu?" Quinn suddenly spoke, getting the scientist's attention. "I haven't seen Ms. Dearing for a while, do you know where she is?"
"She's working on some new attractions and hiring some employees for Jurassic World. But she did say she has a surprise for Jay."
"A surprise, what kind of surprise?" Quinn asked Wu.
At Jurassic World's private room facility, Jay was inside with Mike, waiting for Claire. The Park Operation Manager had called Jay for a very important surprise. Jay wasn't sure the surprise was. He's not so good with surprises since every time he did get a surprise, it's always a surprise attack from his opponents when he was a prisoner in Mortem's experiments. Jay sighs and mutters something under his breath as he looks out from the window, seeing many tourists from below, walking about in the park. He tries to think what Claire's surprised until he snaps out of it when Claire enters the room along with Owen and Marco. Jay turned to them and was about to speak when suddenly a Mexican woman came in with them. She was about her late thirties, has black hair and brown eyes, wearing a white V-neck shirt under a light blue, short sleeve jacket, white capri pants and brown sandals. Jay stared at her under his shades, eyes widened by the sight of her. Memories slowly flooded his mind as he slowly remembers who she is.
His mother.
Claire was actually searching for Jay's mother. What she learned from Marco that Jay's father, Jorge Archer, was a scientist working for Mortem. He didn't spend time with Jay as he dedicated his life on his scientific work with Mortem. He is completely loyal to Mortem and because of this, he kidnapped his son and experimented on him, so he can be in Mortem's research group in experimenting with hybridization. So, with the help of Tim, she was able to find Jay's mother, whose name is Isabella Suarez, and told her about her lost son. They brought her here to the Jurassic World, where she can be reunited with her long-lost son.
Both Isabella and Jay stared at each other for a while. The woman's eyes watered a bit as she looked at Jay before she slowly lifted her hands up towards his shades as she gently removed them. Jay didn't move as she took off his shades, revealing his raptor eyes. She didn't freak out like the others, only remorse and longing in her eyes. She inhaled a sharp breath as she caresses his cheek gently, feeling the hidden scales within his skin.
"M…Mi niño?" She choked out quietly as she looked at Jay with teary eyes.
Jay nodded, holding her hand with his gently, before smiling at her softly. "Sí, Mamá, sí." He whispers to her with joy.
Isabella couldn't help but burst into tears of joy as she quickly embraced her long lost son, crying onto his shoulders. "Mi hijo!"
Jay hugged her back tightly, feeling great joy of happiness to feel his mother's embrace again. It has been so long since he saw his mother. And now, he has a chance to be with her again once more. As the mother and son share their loving embrace, Claire and the two males with her smile at the scene, knowing that they just reunited Jay with his mother. Mike went over to them as he looked over to Jay and his mother, who began kissing his cheeks happily.
"You guys search for his mother, didn't you?" Mike asked the group.
"Yeah, Marco told us about Jay's mother since his father was a former scientist of Mortem's." Claire said before adding. "With Tim's help, I was able to find her and informed her about her son. And good news, she's working here at Jurassic World's bakeshop."
Mike looked at her in surprise. "I didn't know Jurassic World has a bakeshop?"
"Masrani believes that having pastries here can bring more enthusiasm." Claire stated to Mike.
Owen chuckled. "That or because Claire wanted to make sure that Jay is never separated from his mother ever again." He said, grinning a playful scowl that formed on Claire's face.
"But in any case, I think you did the right thing, reuniting Jay with his mom." Mike said, smiling at his friend.
So, after Isabelle and Jay reunited, they helped the mother with her belongings to the bakeshop. The bakeshop is also a built-in house, where Isabella can live and bake homemade pastries and sweets. Isabella is very good at baking since she used to work at a bakeshop. Jay assisted his mother all the way, carrying the heavy boxes and materials, wanting to help her out after all those years of being separated. Alex and Sofia came to drop off Val to Owen, who promised her to spend the whole day with his niece after the whole kidnapping ordeal. So, Owen brought her to the pretzel stand, and bought her a snack before they went to the raptor paddock later. He decided to take Val to the Rexy's paddock, who was lodging on the ground, sunbathing. Many tourists would take pictures through the glass windows, amazed at the sight of the T-Rex. Val was eating her pretzel in delight as she waved at Rexy through the window. Owen smiles at her as he keeps a close eye, he doesn't want her to wander off again. Owen looks over to the sleeping Rexy, enjoying the sun on her scales.
"Amazing, isn't it?" Someone said from behind.
Owen turned around to see an old man, wearing a fedora hat, came and stood besides Owen. He was watching Rexy as she continued to sleep in her paddock. "Yeah…amazing how a single DNA could create…this." Owen gestured to Rexy's sleeping form.
"She's amazing, when she's not chasing you." The old man said.
Owen looked at the old man in confusion, "Not chasing you? What are you talking about? Sir…" Owen slowly stopped himself as he saw the face of the old man and who really is; It was none other than Dr. Alan Grant, the man who survived the original Jurassic Park and wrote a book about it. Alan is Owen's hero since he was kid, he loved his work about the dinosaurs and how he got a closer encounter with them, hence the predators chasing him.
"You're Alan Grant!" Owen said in amazement.
Alan nodded his head. "I am. And to whom am I speaking with?"
"Oh, my name is Owen. Owen Grady, animal behaviorist. It's such an honor to meet you, Dr. Grant." He said with a hand outstretched, which Alan shook. "I'm a big fan of your work."
"You can call me Alan, and thank you, Mr. Grady." Alan said.
"Just Owen." The raptor trainer said before they withdrew their hands. "So…what are you doing here? I heard rumors that you wouldn't dare set foot on this island after the first park shut down."
"I did, didn't I? But I heard rumors that there are new attractions in the park." Alan said before adding. "And from what I've heard, they tampered with the dinosaur's DNAs again, something they shouldn't do." Alan said to Owen as he looked over to Rexy.
Owen realizes that Alan must've heard about the new hybrids, aka the Indominus Rexes and the Indominus Spinos. I mean, who could blame him? Ever since they saved Val from Mortem, the Indominus Spinos decided to stay with them at Jurassic World, where Wu and Carl studied them and the Mortiferous Raptor aka Snow. Owen knew that Alan doesn't like how the scientists were playing God and knows the results will end up badly like before. However, Alan needs to know that the park is safely secured now and well prepared for any situation.
"I can assure you, Alan. It won't be like the original." Owen said to the paleontologist. "We've taken extra precautions to prevent a repeat of the unfortunate events."
"How can you be so sure?" Alan asked the raptor trainer.
"Trust me, Jurassic World won't be like the original." Owen assured Alan before his niece ran up to him happily. Smiling, Owen picks up Val in his arms and holds her tight. "Hey, Raptor Girl, ready to go?"
Val nodded her head with a smile. "Uh-huh!" She chirps out happily before noticing Alan. "Oh, hello, mister." Val greeted the paleontologist.
Alan's eyes suddenly softened at the sight of Val before he smiled at her. "Hello there. Who are you?"
"I'm Val Grady, mister." Val introduced herself with a bright smile.
Alan turns to Owen. "Is she your daughter?"
Owen chuckles and shakes his head at Alan's silly mistake. "Niece, actually. She's my responsibility after my brother and his wife got into a…accident." He said hesitantly as he will never forget the day of the accident.
Understanding that Val lost her parents, Alan shows sympathy towards Owen and Val. "I'm sorry for your loss." He said with sad eyes.
Owen smiled in assurance. "It's okay, Val and I have each other." He said before tickling his niece's belly, making her giggle.
"By the way, where are you two going?" Alan asked Owen. "I'm curious on where you're taking your niece around this dinosaur filled park."
"Well…let's just say there was a reason why I call Val Raptor Girl."
"My God." Alan mutters out in shock as he stares down on the enclosure on top of the
Owen took Alan to the raptor paddock, where his raptors and Snow's pack were inside. The male raptors keep their distance from the female raptors. Knowing that they were in their territory. However, some of the raptors became close. Scar took a liking to Echo because she has a scar on her muzzle, liking how she earned her battle scar like he did. Talon was close to Delta as they both patrol on their territory. Uri was playfully chasing Charlie since those two are the youngest of the pack. While Red and Blue…they were getting along simply fine, but not showing that much of an interest with one another. Since Red is more interested in Snow instead of Blue.
"You bred raptors?" Alan asked Owen with eyes filled with seriousness.
"Yup, but don't worry, I trained them. Well, the females at least." Owen explained, causing Alan to look at him with unsureness. "What?"
"Just the females? And…and why did you add the males in there?!" Alan almost exclaimed.
"Yeeeaaahhh…long story." Owen said with hesitation.
But Val, being the childish and innocent little girl she is, blurted out the words that her uncle couldn't say. "Red and his brothers don't live here. They used to live at Isla Sorna."
Owen and Alan looked at Val with wide eyes. Alan was so shocked by this sudden information that he asked the little girl another question. "What do you mean you used to live on Isla Sorna?"
"Red and his brothers used to have a pack, but they were wiped out, and then Snow took them in as their alpha." Val continued on before pointing behind Alan. "And she's right behind you."
Alan turned around and nearly screamed when Snow the Mortiferous Raptor was right behind him, staring at him through her icy blue eyes. Alan backs away a but as the Mortiferous Raptor sniffs at him. He smelled like he has been both Isla Nublar and Sorna, it was faint, but she can still smell it. Alan was so shocked that he could barely move. His fears came true. It's already happening again; dinosaurs are escaping the park. He has to remain calm and doesn't make any gestures that could be considered threatening. However, his fears suddenly vanished when. Owen placed a hand on the paleontologist's shoulder, causing him to look at the raptor trainer with worry, wondering what he was doing.
"Don't worry, Snow isn't a threat, she's harmless." Owen assured Alan.
"Harmless?" Alan questions Owen in disbelief and dumbfounded. "What do you mean 'harmless?'"
Owen showed him by ordering Snow to back off. "Snow, move back, you're scaring our guest."
To Alan's shock and surprise, the Mortiferous Raptor backs away a bit and lowers herself to the ground, looking at Grant curiously. Alan stared at Snow dumbfounded while he turned towards Owen, who in return, smiled at him sheepishly. "See, Alan, she's harmless. Unless you provoke 'er. Or if she's, you know, hungry. But you know that, right?"
"How is this possible?" Alan asked in amazement.
"Well, she ain't no ordinary dinosaur." Owen said to Dr. Grant.
"What do you mean?" Alan asked in confusion.
"She's a hybrid." Val blurted out as she stood in front of Snow, stroking her head gently.
Alan turned to Val in shock and horror to see he so close to the raptor or better yet the hybrid. But to his surprise and astonishment, Snow didn't attack Val. Instead, she purrs at the little girl's gentle touch. Alan rubbed his eyes, thinking that he was dreaming, but he wasn't. He was amazed to see the little girl, petting with a savage beast.
"Like I said before, Snow's harmless and smart too. Like my girls." Owen said before showing Alan his raptors as he took out his clicker to signal them. "Blue, Charlie, Delta, Echo!"
Hearing his command, the four female raptors went over to Owen's direction, facing him with their raptorial eyes, astounding the paleontologist once more.
"Wait second, did you…did you raise them?" Alan suddenly asked Owen.
Owen responded with a nod. "Yup, when they were babies, they imprinted on me and have been loyal to me since…well, sometimes."
"An early establishment of alpha role to impressionable juvenile subjects combined with repetition of audio and visual cues?" Alan mutters out as he observes the four female raptors in awe. "Amazing, just amazing."
Feeling pride by his hero, Owen smiled at him. "Thank you, sir."
"You'd train them like puppies." Alan continued his observation.
"Yeah, but they're a lot smarter." Owen added.
"And protective." Barry's voice came. Both males turned around to see Barry coming over to them.
"Alan, I would like you to meet Barry. Barry, say hello to the man that survived the original Jurassic Park."
Barry and Alan shook hands. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Grant."
"Likewise." Alan said before they let go and looked at the raptors. "So…you helped Owen with the raptors?"
Barry nodded. "Yes, someone has to help him before he gets himself killed." He joked.
"Oh, hahaha, very funny, Barry." Owen said dryly, making Barry chuckle.
"This shouldn't be a laughing matter." Alan pointed out to the men as he looked at the raptors. "These raptors are extremely intelligent. One slip up or mistake, all the people in the park will be in danger."
"We understand your concern, Alan. But rest assured, the raptors don't show any threat to anyone." Owen said in assurance.
Before Alan could ask, Snow got up from the rail's floor before jumping off, surprising the paleontologist in the process. She lands on the ground with ease as she roars to her packmates. Instantly, the male raptors obeyed their alpha's command and stood on both her sides. Again, Alan was astonished how intelligent these raptors are.
"You yet to cease to amaze me." Alan said to Owen.
"Yeah, in tough situations, I always use my motto." Owen said to Alan.
"And that is?" Alan questions.
"WWAGD." Owen answered.
Alan looks at him confused. "Excuse me?"
"It stands for, "What Would Alan Grant Do?" Ever since I took this job, I've used that as a template for what I'm doing, not just with my work, but my life." Owen explained towards his hero.
Alan scoffs a bit as he looks over to the raptors, who were busy making sounds at each other like if they were talking. "Unbelievable…I appreciate the compliment, Owen, but you're going well beyond me. Your work with these raptors is astounding." He said with amazement as he gestured the raptors from below.
"No. What's astounding was that the book you wrote with Dr. Sattler on the discovery of the Titanosaurus didn't win a Pulitzer. You two sure made a great team." Owen said to Alan.
Alan stayed silent as he looked down at his hands. "Yeah, we did...once." He mutters out the last part.
There was an awkward silence from the adults. Owen and Barry looked at each other, wondering what he meant as the paleontologist was trying to avoid the subject. Suddenly, they heard a raptor snapping its jaws, followed by Val's giggles. They looked up to see Val, standing on the rails, and was feeding the raptors with some Oreos. Each of them was enjoying the taste of the Oreo, licking their jaws, and calling to Val for more. Val giggles at them handing an Oreo to Alan. The paleontologist raises a brow at her, wondering what she was doing.
"Do you wanna feed them?" Val asked him innocently.
At first, Alan was confused, unsure if he should try and feed the raptors Oreo. I mean, the last time he witnessed raptors eating is before John Hammond used to own the island. But he was curious on how the raptors reacted. So, accepting the Oreo, Alan drops the cookie down to the raptors and Blue catches it in her jaw with ease. Alan was surprised how fast Blue reacted to getting the cookie. He began to wonder how fast their reflexes are.
"Amazing, isn't it?" Owen asked the old paleontologist with a smirk.
Alan didn't say a word as he looked down at the raptors, curiosity came in his eyes. Later, after feeding the raptors their lunch, Owen was talking with Alan at the rails while Barry watched Val. They went to the gate and allowed the young girl to pet the raptors up close but through the bars, since Owen didn't want them to be kidnapped again. Alan was astonished by how the raptors treated the little girl as if she were their own.
"You know, it's strange how your niece can understand the raptors." Alan said in astonishment.
Owen nodded with a smile. "Val's a special girl." He said softly.
"How special?" Alan suddenly asked Owen, getting the raptor trainer to look at him. "Raptors tend to be violent, even in front of human children, but when they are with Val, they instantly calm down. So, tell me, how did she do it? What is her reason to make the raptors look friendly?"
Owen stared at his idol briefly before sighing, knowing that he can't hide this from him as he will find out eventually. So, without a choice, Owen told Alan about his sister-in-law, Alma, and how she created a super serum that was meant to save the world, but instead, was almost used for power. Owen explained to the paleontologist about Mortem, which shocked Alan as he was familiar with this criminal, and how he tried to get Alma's super serum. She couldn't destroy it or hide it, so she had no choice but to put it in her daughter aka Val. Alan listens to Owen, slowly understanding his explanation, believing every word that came out from Owen's mouth. He knew that Val was special as well at the moment he saw her, he knew that Val was talented. And recently, they just rescued her from that said psychopath. With the help of the raptor's hybrids, Rexy, and Broken Sail. The Spinosaurus that almost killed Alan and the Kirbys. That shocked Alan since the last time he encountered the Spinosaurus, he tried to kill them, but he was found and befriended by Val. And he saved her from Mortem. They can even visit some time to time with Rexy and the hybrids, much to Alan's surprise.
"I…I didn't know." Alan mutters out to Owen. "You've been through a lot."
"Yeah, it was not easy. But we did it. We were able to save Val and stopped a psycho."
Alan scoffs gently as he looks at the raptors, who were trying to figure out to get to the other side of the gate and be with Val. "You know, it makes me wonder if it was a good idea to come back to this island again." He mutters to Owen as he looks at the raptor trainer. "But I never knew how much you work so hard to save your niece and everyone."
"Yup, there is no giving up. Not if you believe in your work and not if your life and the lives of others are in danger." Owen said with a smile.
Alan looked at him in surprise. "Where'd all that come from?" He asked curiously.
Owen smiles widens and informs him. "From your book. You taught me that."
With that, Alan smiled back at him, feeling appreciated on Owen's words, before asking something that shocked both of them. "So…where do you keep the 'new attractions?'"
"You sure you want to see them?" Owen asked with a brow raised.
"Yes, I need to know if they are a threat or not." Alan stated to Owen.
Owen simply stared at the old paleontologist for a while, wondering if it was a good idea or not. However, it would make a great opportunity for him to understand the Indominus Rexes and Spinos. Owen agrees to take Alan to the hybrid paddock along with Val. Barry kept an eye on the raptors as they left and made sure to keep Hoskins away from them. Owen drives the jeep to the hybrid paddock. It would be strange for Alan to see the hybrids. Even though he already met Snow, meeting the other Indominus could change history itself. Once reaching the paddock, they saw the new arrangement of the area. They expanded it a bit to fit four hybrids inside. They entered the enclosure and were greeted by Sofia and Alex, who were hanging up the banner that says: New Dinosaurs!
"Hey, girls!" Owen greeted the two females.
"Hi, Owen!" Alex said as she hung the banner.
"How are you doing?" Sofia asked as she held the ladder.
"Well, and I want you girls to meet the man of the hour." Owen said as he gestured to Alan Grant.
Both Sofia and Alex looked at Alan in shock and surprised. They heard about his work at the first park. They loved to read his book. It was amazing and thrilling too that he survived a raptor attack. "Wow! It's really you! I never knew you would come back here." Alex said in astonishment as she got down from the ladder.
"Yeah, everyone thought you wouldn't set foot here ever again after the first park." Sofia added, coming over to him with Alex.
"Well…things change. I guess." Alan answered with a shrug. "I take it that you two are working at this new exhibit?"
"We sure are." Alex said with a nod. "We made sure to follow the rules and regulations around here."
"Were there any incidents?" Alan asked the two girls seriously.
"Not so far, the hybrids are actually behaving very well." Sofia explained.
Alex nodded in agreement. "Yup, they don't show any aggression when they are captives." She added in the explanation.
"How many hybrids are in there?" Alan suddenly asked.
"Well, there are four predatorial hybrids inside this enclosure." Alex assured the paleontologist.
Before Alan could ask her, he felt the ground beneath them shake. This made Alan look around the room, wondering what it was until Owen pointed at the window. Alan was confused and turned towards the big window and froze. Right in front of him was the Indominus Rex, Ivy to be exact, she came over to the window after sensing Val and her uncle coming. But was confused by the newcomer with them. She wonders who he is and why he is here. Alan, on the other hand, was completely shocked at the sight of Ivy, wondering what the scientists cooked up in that lab of theirs?
"Alan, say hello to one of the hybrids, the Indominus Rex, also known as Ivy." Owen introduces his hero to the hybrid.
"Ivy?" Alan asked in confusion.
Val nodded her head and walked over to the window, placing her hand on it. Ivy follows Val's palm and places her snout on it. "Yup! I named her Ivy. Isn't she pretty? Like her sister!"
Alan looked at her with wide eyes, almost like it was about to fall off before coming to her side. He could see the other hybrids inside. Inside the enclosure were other hybrids, Iris and the two Indominus Spinos. They were sleeping near a lake, basking in the sun just like Rexy was in her paddock. Alan was in shock to see them up close and it was Owen's task to fill him in. But when Alan had his head turned away for a second, Val somehow sneaked off and got in the enclosure.
"Oh, no!" Alan panicked as he saw Val inside.
Without thinking, Alan chased after her. He was able to find the door that leads inside the enclosure and suddenly stopped at his tracks to see the hybrids, all four of them, standing dangerously close to Val. Alan wanted to step in and save her, but the little girl wasn't afraid of them and it seems like the hybrids have no intention in hurting Val. And the next thing he knew, the hybrids started nuzzling her like if she was their friend. Alan was in awestruck before he felt Owen gently patting his shoulder. The old paleontologist looked at Owen with a dumbfounded look as Owen gave him a small smile.
"Like you said, Val is very special." Owen said with pride.
Alan was about to speak when suddenly a shadow was cast down on him. Alan looked up and froze as four of the hybrids came in front of him. The Indominus Rexes and Spinos were curious about the newcomer. He smelled like he was here before and at Isla Sorna. It was strange considering that they had never seen him before. Although they do recall when Broken Sail told him that he encountered some humans in his territory once. He eats some of them of course, however; few escape and they guess that it was this guy. Alan froze as the hybrids stared at him with suspicious eyes. He was scared beyond belief before the little girl came to him and smiled.
"Dr. Alan, I want you to meet my friends! This Ivy, Iris, the red on is Assassin, and the green one is Hunter." Val introduced Alan to the hybrids. "Say hello to Dr. Alan!"
The hybrids responded with grunts, making Alan even more shocked by this. They were so easily obedient to Val that if she was their trainer. "Amazing…" Was all Alan could say.
"You have no idea." Owen said to Alan.
"I never knew that they were so…docile." Alan said with hesitation.
"Yes, yes they are." Owen said with a grin.
Suddenly, Iris came over to a surprise Alan and gave a friendly lick, covering the paleontologist with saliva from head to toe. Alan was amazed yet disgusted by this, he would never get used to that again. Val and Owen laughed at this while Alex and Sofia held back their laughter. Alan would be mad, but he simply chuckles at this.
"This park still has some few surprises for me." He mutters out while shaking his head.
Later, at the park after spending the whole day with Alan, Owen dropped him off to the hotel where will be staying while the raptor trainer carries a sleeping Val on his back. Alan learned so much about the event that had just happened. The Indominus Rexes and Spinos seem to like Alan, except for Assassin. He was not at all interested in Alan, he simply ignored him. Alan then met Moana the Microraptor when she came to visit the hybrid paddock. Alan was amazed by the little microraptor that he observes her often while the hybrids watched them from afar.
"Keep up the good work here, Owen." Alan said to Owen as they reached the hotel room. "But don't make the mistake of forgetting there are other things in life that are just as important, if not more."
Owen nodded, understanding Alan's words of wisdom before the old paleontologist went in his room, unaware that Owen was silently cheering that his idol praised him. On the next day, Owen dropped off Val to Sofia and Alex in the afternoon. They were at Jurassic World's smoothie shop, they were there with Mike, Jay, and Quinn. They were just relaxing after the grand opening of the new Hybrid Exhibit. Many tourists came to see the new exhibit, a lot of kids wanted to see the new and scary dinosaurs. And they did, Assassin scared a lot of kids by roaring at the glass while ignoring his younger brother's scolding at him with growls.
"Man, who knew the hybrid paddock became a big hit?" Mike asked as he drank his smoothie.
"Yeah, me and Sof had our work on. A lot of people wanted to see the new dinosaurs." Alex said with a sigh.
"Can't say much of the smoothie shop." Sofia said, stirring her straw on her smoothie while looking at the barley full smoothie shop. "It's usually packed."
"The karaoke machine broke down and won't be fixed till tomorrow." Mike answered as he looked at the stage to see some instruments there. "Claire is searching for a band to play some music, but so far, they were busy or on a world tour."
"Oh, I wish we could help her out." Sofia said in sympathy.
Suddenly, Monica glides her way over to the drum set and sniffs at the cymbal before taking a nip but accidentally drops one of the drumsticks, causing it to hit the drum, creating a loud sound. This scared Monica as she chirped in surprise and retreated from the instruments. Val went over to her and picked her up while the teens and Quinn went over to the instruments. Interested in the instruments. They remember taking some music classes when they were kids. Alex plays the guitar with her dad when she stays at his place. Sofia took a lot of music classes, but she likes to play the bass guitar. Mike used to play the piano until his dad sold it for beer money. Jay played the guitar when he was with his mother's relatives whenever they had parties or festivals. And Quinn used to play the drums when her dad took her to a music shop once. He taught her some tricks when she was little, but she loves to play with it, she even watches videos on playing the drums. Quinn picked up the drumsticks and held it. She started making small rhythms on the drum set. Hearing her beat, Mike started playing on the piano, following her rhythm. Alex, Sofia, and Jay picked the guitars and started playing the beat. Unaware that they were slowly starting to make a song.
(Turn Up the Music by Lemonade Mouth)
Alex:
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Take a look around
Who would have thought we'd all be here?
So let's mess around!
'Cause the future is unclear
We got nothin' better to do
We're just tryin' to get through.
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Yeah!
All:
Let the music groove you!
Let the melody move you!
Feel the beat and just let go
Get the rhythm into your soul!
Let the music groove you!
Let the melody move you!
Feel the beat and just let go
Get the rhythm into your soul!
The people in the shop listened to their singing with enjoyment. Val claps to the beat of the music with Monica on her lap. They were not aware that people were coming in the shop when they heard their music and decided to hear more of it. Owen and Marco were searching for their girls before they heard singing at the smoothie shop. They followed it and saw the teens and Quinn performing on stage. They were shocked and amazed by this and soon, they decided to stay and listen for more.
Let the music take you
Anywhere it wants to
When we're stuck and can't get free.
No matter what, we'll still be singing!
Come on, come on, turn up the music!
It's all we got, we're gonna use it
Come on, come on, turn up the music
Yeah!
Come on, come on, turn up the music!
It's all we got, we're gonna use it
Come on, come on, turn up the music!
Turn up the music!
Soon, Claire came in after hearing from Lowrey that a lot of people were going into the smoothie shop after hearing the teens making music. Upon entering, Claire saw the teen and Quinn performing while everyone was clapping through the beat. Claire was shocked and surprised by this before Owen came over to her and said to her loudly through the crowd.
"Amazing right?"
"Yeah…who knew they could play music so well?" Claire said in astonishment.
Owen laughs and says to her with a grin. "Well, now you know." He said while Claire rolled her eyes with a smile as she watched the band play their music.

Get the rhythm into your soul

Come on, come on, turn up the music…
Yeah…
After they finished, the whole shop erupted with cheers, whistling, and whooping at them in astonishment. The group looked at them with surprise, but they decided to bow at their cheers. Soon, everyone was asking who they are and what their band's name. Alex, Sofia, Mike, Jay, and Quinn looked at each other. They didn't consider forming a band before since they just play music. Luckily, Val had already come up with a name and shouted out to the crowd.
"They're called the D-Squad!"
Hearing the band's name, everyone in the shop started cheering 'D-Squad!', 'D-Squad!', 'D-Squad!', and so on. Val simply smiles and giggles while the newly formed band smiled and bowed at them. Claire soon clapped with a cheering Owen and Marco. Val saw her uncle and quickly went over to him. He picks her up with a happy grunt and holds in his arms.
"Uncle Owen, did you see that? Did you see them perform!?" Val asked her uncle excitingly.
"I did! And they were awesome!" Owen said with a grin.
Val giggled at him. "Do you like the name I gave?"
"You mean the D-Squad? Hell yeah. It's a great name. Let me guess, the D stands for dinosaurs?" Owen asked with a grin while Val nodded with a grin of her own.
"Well, it seems like Jurassic World has its own band now." Claire said, almost relieved that she didn't need to book a band here.
"Yeah, you better give them a good pay grade." Owen jokes, earning a light slap on the shoulder from Claire. Soon, they all left the shop while some people asked for D-Squad's selfie. Marco stayed behind to watch over Quinn while Owen, Val, and Claire left the shop to the Innovation Center. Claire has to meet up with Dr. Wu and Carl about the new dinosaurs.
"So, I heard rumors about a new attraction in the park." Owen said as they entered the elevator.
Claire nodded her head. "Yes, Mr. Masrani has an idea about putting a camp here on Jurassic World called Camp Cretaceous. It will be filled with fun camping activities and learning about the dinosaurs here." She explained.
Val's eyes lit up when she heard camping. "I wanna go camping!" She looked at her uncle with pleading eyes. "Can I go, Uncle Owen? Can I? Can I?!"
Owen chuckles at her gently. "We'll wait and see, Val. But for now, you're staying with Camp Grady, filled with fun and entertainment." He said as he tickles Val, making her giggle. Claire shook her head at him before she faced the elevator's doors. "So…you free tonight?"
Claire turns to him with a question. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, I heard there's a new special at Winston's Steakhouse, you wanna have dinner tonight?" Owen asked her.
"…Are you asking me out on a date again after the last fiasco?" Claire stated about the first date.
"Come on, it won't be like before, and besides. Wouldn't it be nice to have one day off?" Owen asked Claire while wiggling his brow, making Val giggle at her uncle's antiques.
Claire sighs as she shook her head. Owen can be such a child sometimes. But he can be a serious man when it comes to his work and saving his niece. And Claire doesn't have any plans for tonight plus she needed some time off anyways. So, with her decision made, Claire agrees to go on a date with Owen.
"All right, but don't you dare wear any board shorts." Claire said to him sternly, making Owen laugh.
"Okay, okay, I promise I won't wear board shorts." Owen said, still laughing along with Val. Claire couldn't help but laugh also as the elevator's doors opened, allowing them to enter the lab with plans for tonight while Val smiles along the way.
Val's life was tragic and hard, but she knew that with her uncle and friends, she can face any challenges. No longer feeling alone and sad, Val can live in a happy and safe life with her uncle and friends.
But her adventure is just the beginning.
