"Are we sure they aren't too young?" Bow fretted.
"Relax, Bow" Glimmer said placing a wriggling Angie into a wooden aby carriage painted pink and purple "We always said we'd take the kids to Mystacor once they could walk"
Bow put a fluffy vaguely owl-like stuffed animal next to his daughter. Angie giggled and grabbed at it, cuddling with it. "We better dress her in that jumper Casta just sent her. You know how passive aggressive she gets when we don't wear her clothes.
Glimmer buttoned Angie's jumper as Myra was playing with Finn.
Mycah came in from the throne room holding a giant bundle of plushies which he had made by hand just as he had done when Glimmer was a baby. "I hope I made enough" he said dumping the lot into Bow's hands. Bow was already holding both diaper bags and his tracker pad "Thank you" Bow wheezed from the effort.
Myra reluctantly handed Finn to Catra who gave the kitten a spit bath "You kids have fun"
Adora nuzzled her nose to Finn's. Finn purred. "Ready to see something cool, baby?"
"Take care of the place, Dad" Glimmer kissed Mycah on the cheek.
"Don't let your Aunt Casta drive you too crazy, Baby Girl"
"No promises"
Myra hugged Catra and Adora before Glimmer touched the others and they were suddenly on a cliffside.
Adora and Catra grinned at each other before leaping, Adora clutching Finn to herself.
"I'm not sure about this" Bow hedged. Glimmer rolled her eyes, grabbed Angie and gave Bow a helpful shove. She let out a shout of delight as she jumped after them.
They landed on Mystacor's beach.
"This is where our family is from, Baby" Glimmer said to Angie, kissing the top of her head, even though she wasn't old enough to understand. She put Angie down to toddle on the beach where her ancestors walked for thousands of years, squealing and laughing as she took off running.
Finn scrambled down from their mother's arms and made chase.
"Play nice with your cousin, Finn!" Adora called after them.
Catra snorted "We never played nice"
"I'm trying to set an example if you don't mind, Catra!"
Finn raced headlong into their cousin, knocking her over. Angie got up and pounced on Finn.
Catra burst out laughing. "Yeah, that's about right"
Bow raised his eyebrow at Glimmer who shrugged. "I knocked you over a lot when we were kids. Some of them weren't on purpose"
"Wait, some of them?"
Adora elbowed catra "So, when Finn's older you gonna teach them how to cheat at races?"
"I don't cheat, you're just super slow!"
"Right…"
Adora picked Catra up fireman style and jokingly made as if to throw her into the ocean. Catra shrieked and laughed "Stop it, dummy!"
Glimmer shook her head grinning. "I swear you two are worse than the children"
As they were busy flirting and Bow and Glimmer were trying to keep the babies from walking into the ocean none of them noticed Aunt Casta's sneak attack.
"Hello, everyone!"
Casta was suddenly there smiling widely making everyone jump.
"Aunt Casta!" Glimmer exclaimed with fake enthusiasm "So great to see you!" she grinned unconvincingly.
"I had the dining room redone, dear"
"You're always redoing the dining room, Auntie!"
Casta ignored this and looked at Angie and Finn. "Oh, you chose those clothes?"
"You sent us those clothes!" Glimmer protested.
"I don't think so"
Glimmer sighed and grabbed Bow by the elbow and dragged him away. "Adora! Catra! Come on, steam grotto time! Bye, Auntie!"
Before Casta could react, Glimmer had steered her family into the caves, narrowly avoiding her aunt for the time being.
Adora, Bow, and Glimmer, wrapped in white linen, stepped in the hot springs with a sigh. Finn and Angie were playing in a shallow, cooled-off spring to the side. Catra was in her old Horde undergarments, sitting on the edge of the spring, dipping her clawed feet into the water. With mischievous smiles, she and Adora splashed each other, trying to one up one another with bigger and bigger waves
"we can't avoid Castaspella our entire trip" Bow reasoned as he rubbed Glimmer's shoulders.
Glimmer's eyes fluttered shut "I can try, can't I?"
Her attempt succeeded as they finished their soak and pushed the baby carriage with both Finn and Angie sleeping soundly into the sorcerer's hall.
At the statue hall, Casta caught them, still drying their hair with towels that sparkled with magical energy.
As Casta waylaid Glimmer, Adora looked up at Shadow Weaver's statue, holding Finn tight.
Catra walked up to them and put a hand on Adora's shoulder and ruffled Finn's hair.
"I keep wonder what we're going to tell Finn when they're old enough to ask" Adora admitted "about the Horde. About…her"
"All Finn needs to know is she died and cant ruin our lives anymore"
Adora snort-laughed shortly and regarded Shadow Weaver's veiled face. Her expression hardened.
"I guess I should thank you for showing me what not to do" Adora thought wryly "Catra and I are going to give Finn the childhood we should have had. Without you. How's that for a distraction?"
