Chapter 30: Revelations

A/N: HI everyone! I just wanted to clarify some confusion from last chapter! First off, Jasper has gathered his crew, charlotte, peter, Alistair, and garret. Jasper has asked for an audience with Paul, and he gets it. Meanwhile, jasper sends Garret and Alistair to the border. Leah, who was on patrol, sees the vampires and howls for backup. Now, back at Paul's office jasper has many things to tell him.

1. Bella's mother Renee who you saw a few chapters ago IS NOT HER MOTHER. She is Bella's aunt. Bella's mother and her aunt are twins, and they are both werewolves or children of the moon. They transform on a full moon.

2. Bella's aunt was jealous of her twins life in the human world and wanted it for herself. she had her sister attacked and given a memory loss drug so that she would forget Bella and Charlie. Bella's aunt then replaced her sister and pretended to be her. But the aunt wanted to make her sisters former life miserable, so as soon as she could she divorced Charlie and took Bella making Bella's "mother" look like a bad person.

3. now, after that Jasper reveals that Bella's aunt believes that There is a remedy to stop her from turning into a werewolf. That remedy would be Bella, a vampire and one shapeshifter. Now how she plans to do this we don't know?

4. Jasper then tells Paul what happened in Italy once he arrived. Now, to stop any confusion, remembering in the first few chapters Bella said she dragged out of the throne room and put on a plane and she had no idea what happened once the Cullen's were called. That is where Jasper picks up the story. He explains that once he, Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, and Rosalie came to Italy that Aro was furious with them. Carlisle acted like he didn't do anything wrong and because of that Aro had his head ribbed off and threw Carlisle in the dungeons where they would let him starve. Then Emmett and Rosalie were destroyed because Aro saw them as useless and troublesome. They would never stop fighting him. Next, Esme was placed as a servant to the volturi wives, but jasper said he didn't know how long that would last. And finally, we have Alice. Jasper stated that she had feelings of guilt when he entered the room. It was also revealed that Alice was never jaspers mate and that Alice had been using her gift for the wrong reasons. Jasper tried to fight for her but Aro told him no, he needed to keep an eye on Alice. So, in return for his freedom. Jasper told Aro he would eliminate the southern wars and be Aro's eyes and ears down south.

5. Regarding Edward, he would have joined the guard, but he escaped, and the wolves killed him.

6. Also one of my wonderful readers asked about Paul claiming Bella. So, no Paul and Bella have not had sex but Paul has claimed Bella when he bit her. However, most of the time Sex is required to complete a claiming but in Bella's case because she acknowledged Paul as her mate, the claiming was completed automatically.

Her mate, however-

Bella stopped as she felt something like lighting move up her body and a particular warmth settled over her. It was so surprising she had to lean on the nearest person. And that so happen to be Adeline.

"what wrong?" Paul asked concern as he pulled her back from Adeline.

"I- I don't know. It felt as if I was being struck by lightning and then caressed by something warm."

"What!?" Addi exclaimed.

"my god!?" Adeline said as her eyes widened.

"what is it? Is something wrong?" she asked confused.

"What was the exact thing you were thinking about before you felt the lighting strike?" Paul demanded.

"I was um, I was thinking that meeting Addi and Adeline was completely different from meeting Ariel."

"and what else?" He questioned. His eyes glowing a brighter yellow then she had ever seen them.

"um then... I looked at you and I thought of you as my mate? Why?"

Immediately Paul picked up Bella's left arm. Low growls filling the air.

"woah!That's different!" Adeline said looking over her shoulder.

"Paul what's going on?" Bella asked concerned.

"look."

Bella did and gasped. On her left arm, starting from her shoulder was an intricate tattoo of a white fox and grey wolf, the foxes tail curling down, her left finger.

"I thought ariel said it wouldn't happen until a couple of weeks" Bella claimed.

"the vixen doesn't know what she's talking about." Adeline said angrily letting out a small hiss.

"you thought of us as your mate. You weren't thinking in human terms but in terms of our spirit animal. Our claiming has completed itself without the need of intercourse. Precious one you have no idea how happy you have made us…"

"Welcome to the family Bella!" Addi greeted as he took her from Paul's embrace.

To her surprise, Addi rubbed his cheek against her own. A vulpine rumble coming his lips.

Bella instantly felt herself relax.

"no need to fear us child. Not all of us are like ariel. She's a special case."

Adeline let out a snort, as she began to dish out the meal Bella had prepared.

"yeah, a special case of nuts. I can't stand her! Just because grand mere and grandpere put her in charge temporarily, she thinks she can just boss everyone around. I swear Paul, I have an ancient bottle of champagne ready to be popped when you take over."

"yeah, and when's that going to be, cause Ariel's bleeding us dry..." Addi said as he dragged Bella over to sit next to him.

Bella shivered as she suddenly felt the atmosphere change.

"you felt that too huh? You might just be more in touch with our spirits than we know Fille." Addi said as he glanced at Bella.

"Addi, go back... what did you mean about Ariel bleeding you dry?"

Addi lowered his eyes as spoke again.

"Well, I understand that all the family's businesses have to at least commit ten percent to the family account and that's fair…but ariel…well, ariel's been taking twenty percent or higher Paul..."

Bella jumped as the glass in Paul's hand shattered.

"WHAT!" he roared. "why was I not informed of this sooner!"

"we thought you knew. In fact, Ariel subtly suggested it was on your orders." Addi said in confusion.

"We have never said anything like that! is this why you two came here today?"

"no, we… we felt a pull and now we see why." Adeline said as she grabbed Bella's hand and squeezed warmly.

Bella blushed. Paul cousins were nothing how she would expect a very wealthy family to act. The Cullen's had flaunted their wealth and made it seem like money grew on trees. They also looked down on anything that wasn't expensive. Making others feel bad if they didn't have the latest and newest stuff. but the Renard's. The Renard family made money expand and yet they didn't flaunt it for the most part. Not once, did she see any outside sign of them being rich. Paul never drove his expensive cars unless he had to.

Leah POV:

Leah rolled her eyes as Quill in human form stood protectively in front of her. The rest of the pack were behind them in wolf form. With Paul at work, Leah and Quill were the ones in charge and she didn't even think the pack knew it. They just followed instinct.

"quill, stand down, they are not here for a fight." She argued.

"they have red eyes lee! How in the world do we know what want and what they don't. how do we know these guys aren't just a distraction while some other red eyes tear up the res!" Quill shot back.

"q, just trust me please."

"uh, we don't mean to interrupt these lovers spat but we really don't mean any harm. We were sent here by our leader."

"What's his name" Quill asked harshly as the black-haired vampire spoke up.

"jasper Whitlock. Formerly known as Cullen. He went to find someone named Paul."

At Paul's name, Quill's shoulders relaxed.

"I see. But why ask you tow to stay here?"

The black-haired vampire shrugged his shoulders.

"don't know. Probably guard or something like that. We owe the major a couple of favors, it's the least we can do."

"hey! How the heck are we just going to believe these red eyed vamps! And where the heck is Sam!?"

All eyes turned to see Jared looking confused and angry.

"Jared just shove it until this is over." Leah hissed.

"no! I am tired of being lied too and all these secrets! Now where the heck is Sam! And why hasn't he called us and who the heck put you in charge Leah!"

Leah was ready to strike before a deep voice spoke.

"Quiet!"

"well, its about time!" Leah sighed as her shoulders relaxed and she leaned into Quill. Seeing her new Alpha emerge from the forest relieved a burden she didn't even realize she was carrying.

Quill released a content sigh at seeing Paul and wrapped an arm around her waist. Not caring who was around.

Shock played over Leah's features as she looked at him.

"Q? what are you doing?"

"holding my girlfriend. I don't care anymore lee."

Leah felt herself blush as she subtly looked around. The pack was stuck staring at she and quill and then glancing back at Paul. She and Quill had never discussed their relationship, it had never been labeled. They just were, but now that Quill was making a claim, she didn't know how she was supposed to feel. A part of her wanted to run and another part of her wanted kick Quill in the groin but then another part of her wanted to kiss him silly.

Leah had no clue what to do.

"You two," Paul directed at the vampires across the border. "Jasper wants you both to do a perimeter check around forks and then you meet us at this address precisely at ten pm."

Paul then crossed the border to hand them a piece of paper.

"What's so special about this address?" one of the vamps asked.

"it's our HQ. since we cannot break the treaty, this place will be our neutral territory."

The vampires stared at Paul strangely and then disappeared.

When her alpha turned around, Leah gasp. Paul had aged. Drastically. But it wasn't an old look it was a more…mature look. Waist length hair, facial hair, a goatee, and the power radiating off him it was raw power.

So Raw she fell to her knees, head bowed in submission.

Quill did the same and she noticed a few of the pack did the same.

The only one who refused was Jared. He stood on shaky legs fighting the pull to submit.

"As of two days ago, our Alpha Samuel Uley has given me his pack. This is only temporary. I am not here to replace him, I am just a stand in. So, submit now and it will be over soon."

Jared stared at Paul before he finally relented.

"Calm. All of you. This is only temporary. Now rise, we have much work to do. You will all phase and head north. I will meet you from there. Leah, Quill a word."

With the pack headed out, Leah stared up at her alpha. He was even taller than before, she practically had to look up at him.

"How were things while I was gone?"

Leah looked to Quill. The latter swallowing hard.

"Well, everything was fine… For a while and then…"

Adeline, put a hand over her frantically beating heart.

How was she supposed to process this? She an imprint? A fox mated to a wolf? It was...bizarre. and what if she didn't fit into her supposed mates world? What if he didn't fit into hers! How would they manage? Isn't he in high school? Would he be willing ti move for a while? Would he be allowed! Would his elders accept their bond? Would-

Suddenly, something cold was thrown unto her and Adeline found herself staring into a pair of brown eyes.

"Bella? What…What happened?"

Her new cousin and future leader slid her hands over her short hair as she sat down.

"no clue, Addi, called me frantic, and said I needed to get over here. Now what happened. You look, shocked?" Bella questioned.

Adeline hesitated as she looked Bella. Something was different. Taking a closer look, she realized that Bella looked different.

She seemed just a tad bit taller. There seemed to be some muscle growth, her eyes had a small glow to them but what was jaw dropping was the power radiating off Bella. Adeline didn't even realize if the girl knew she was doing it.

"Adeline? Hey? What's up? What happened?"

Adeline shook off the questions about Bella and said "I...I found my mate? Or well, he found me?"

"ok, so is that bad?" Bella asked.

"well, yes... no? I don't know. He called me an imprint? And he didn't get to explain much. Because howls were heard, and all your wolf friends just jump up and left. Bella…I..I don't know how to feel about this? I just met this man… I dont know him."

"Wait the pack was here?" Bella asked her.

"yes, they just showed up randomly on the doorstep. I opened the door…and there he was…He's quite young… but so I am… oh Bella…what...What do I do?"

Bella smiled at her.

"I don't know much about imprinting…I only know what the pack has told me. I don't believe in love without work. So, I say you get to know him. Admit that there is a connection, that there is a pull…but the imprint…does not determine your relationship..."

Adeline sighed as relief filled her body. Her new cousin was right…She didn't have to let the pull determine where or how the relationship went.

"What's his name…?"

Adeline blushed as she thought the mysterious man she would soon get to know.

"Embry, His name is Embry."
Bella smiled.

"You have nothing to worry about Adeline. It will work out. Whether you stay friends or move on."

"Thank you, Bella. Now enough about me? How did you're meeting with your aunt joy go?"

Adeline watched as emotions played over Bella's face.

"It... was…revealing…let's just put it that way."

Adeline let out a laugh and was getting ready to say something when the atmosphere tensed.

Addi who had been silent immediately sat down.

The three-house guest knew exactly who was approaching the door and Addi standing up would have been a threat. They might not have been able to hear or smell him, but the now close family could feel their leader.

The front door swung open with a creak and Paul walked in.

Adeline gasped.

Paul…was different. Everything about him was different.

They were in the presence of a true leader.

Adeline watched as Paul scented the air and then stalked toward his target.

Bella.
