Houki's duel against Bane was going on. Bane tried getting Houki disqualified for an easy win by swiping her card, but Hector saved her by giving his. The duel was on, but Bane was a tough duelist. He hasn't lost any life points and he had his Battleship Delta Starcruiser with 2700atk points. Houki had 1950LP with Yumira the Healing Light having 1000atk points.
"You're going to get it now." Bane said. "Delta Starcruiser is going to blast you out of here."
"We'll see. Don't forget that you can't attack this turn." Houki said.
"Correction. I can't attack your monsters. You are a free target." Bane said. "I activate Battleship Repairs! This spell card allows me to bring back a level four or lower Battleship! Come back Battleship Strikefly!" Strikefly came back to the field and had 1600atk points. "Thanks to his special ability, I'm able to attack you directly! I just need to cut his attack points in half!"
"This could hurt." Houki said.
"I'm counting on it! Attack, Strikefly!" Bane said. Strikefly opened up it's wings with it's attack points dropping to 800. It fired a set of lasers and blasted Houki with it as her life points dropping to 1150.
"Man, those ships are fully loaded." Ichika said.
"Indeed." Laura said. "It seems like he's trying to swarm the field and blasted Houki with as much damage as he can. He's trying to overwhelm her."
"He hasn't even attack with that massive weapon yet. I sure hope Houki has some sort of plan for it." Rin said.
"You think you're safe, but you're far from it." Bane said. "I activate my Alpha Cannons equip spell! When this card is equipped on to a Battleship, it will gain an additional 700atk points. I'm placing it on Delta Starcruiser!" A set of cannons were placed on Starcruiser with it's attack points increasing to 3400. "You're out of luck. I have two other copies of that spell in my deck. No one has ever been able to break my combo once I have all three in place."
"Maybe, but what are the odds you'll get both copies?" Houki said.
"Oh, I think the odds are in my favor." Bane said with full confidence. 'Silly little girl. As if I would leave it to chance. I had my spell cards marked. I just make my draws look good and I'll have all I need.' He thought. "It's your turn now."
"Here I go!" Houki said as she drew her next card. "I'll start by activating my Pot of Greed! This spell card allows me to draw two more cards!" She drew two more cards and was glad with what she got. "I summon my Swordsman of Mystic Arts to the field!" She summoned out a warrior that looked similar to a wizard with his scepter also a sword. He also had a total of 1900atk points. "Swordsman of Mystic Arts, attack his Battleship Strikefly with Magic Crusher!" Her warrior twirled his blade around and unleashed streams of energy. They smashed against Strikefly and destroyed it with Bane's life points dropping to 3700. "My swordsman's ability now activates! Since he attacked, he switches to defense mode!" After the attack, his swordsman dropped down to defense mode and had 1200def points. "Since he also switched to defense mode, we both get to draw one card."
"Me too? How kind of you." Bane mocked as they both drew a card.
"I place one card facedown. I'm also going to switch Yumira into defense mode as well." Houki said as Yumira switch modes and now has 2200def points. "Since it's the end of my turn, Yumira's ability activates. I now gain another 400LP since there are three monsters on the field." A light shined on Houki as her life points increased to 2350.
"You're going to need every card you can get." Bane said. He was ready to draw his card, but he quickly searched for a marked card until he spotted one. He was able to draw it and made it look good. No one really saw a thing, but Peggrin did. Still, he wanted to see how this duel turns out. "Check it out! It's another Alpha Cannon!"
"Another one?!" Houki said.
"He actually was able to draw the same card?!" Charlotte said.
"That's not good for Houki." Cecilia said. Bane played it and increased Delta Starcruiser's attack points to 4100 with a second set of cannons on it.
"It's got over 4000atk points!" Rin said.
"It's packing some serious firepower now!" Ryu said.
"Time to attack! Take aim and fire Delta Starcruiser!" Bane said. "Planetary Bombardment!" Delta Starcruiser took aim with all of his cannons. It fired a series of attacks as it blasted on Yumira and her Swordsman of Mystic Arts with great power and chaos. Both of them ended up being destroyed.
"What just happened?!" Houki said. "How come both of my monsters were destroyed?!"
"It's Delta Starcruiser's ability. When he attacks, he can destroy one additional card on the field." Bane said. "This thing will destroy everything on your field until your last life point drops."
"Don't be so sure about that." Houki said.
"I am sure. I got one more Alpha Cannon in my deck. Once I draw it, it'll be unstoppable!" Bane said.
"You might have gotten lucky with that draw, but you won't get lucky with your next one." Houki said. Bane keeps thinking he'll get the card because of how he'll draw it. All he needs to do is wait for Houki's luck to run out.
"I'll just place one card facedown to be safe." Bane said.
"It's my turn!" Houki said as she drew her next card. 'I've got to think of some way to beat that ship of his. If I can't take it out before he draws that third Alpha Cannon equip spell, I'm in trouble.' She thought. She looked in her hand and thought about her options. When she saw what she had, it gave her an idea that might work.
"Well? Make your move." Bane said.
"Keep your shirt on. I'm going to summon a monster facedown in defense mode." Houki sad. "I'll also place these two cards facedown to end my turn."
"That's it? That's all she can do?" Charlotte questioned.
"Not much she can do. That ship Bane has is too powerful." Ryu said.
"And it's going to get stronger if Bane draws that card again." Ichika said.
"It's my turn!" Bane said as he was getting ready to draw again, but he pulled that same move again and was able to draw a card that was marked. "I draw! How about that? It's my third Alpha Cannon!"
"Unbelievable! He got it again?!" Rin said.
"Something about this just doesn't seem right." Laura said as she was starting to get suspicious. Bane played the third one and Delta Starcruiser's attack points rose to 4800.
"It's got nearly 5000atk points!" Cecilia said.
"There's no way Houki can beat that!" Rin said.
"You're finished now! Attack!" Bane said as he had his ship launch the attacks again. Houki's monster was destroyed, but it didn't stop there. "Don't forget that Starcruiser can destroy one other card on the field! I should bring down one of your face-downs! I'll pick...the one on the right!" Starcruiser attacked again and destroyed Houki's face-down
"Thank you." Houki said.
"You're thanking me? For what?" Bane said.
"For destroying my cards." Houki said. "First, the monster you destroyed was known as Spiritual Sensei." When she said that, a spirit of an old samurai emerged on the field.
"What is that?!" Bane said as he was a little freaked by the ghost.
"His special ability activates when he's flipped over. It allows me to summon any monster from my deck." Houki said. "As payment for such power, I must take damage equal to half of that monster's attack points. I think you know what monster I'm summoning! I summon Coronix the Sun Phoenix!" She summoned out her phoenix as it came out with 2400atk points. "Now, here comes the painful part. I take damage equal to half of my monster's attack points. That means I take 1200 points of damage." Houki got blasted with spiritual energy as her life points dropped to 950.
"Was that really wise?" Charlotte asked.
"Yeah, she's already falling far behind." Cecilia said.
"I'm sure Houki is up to something." Ichika said.
"I don't get it. Why would you drop your life points so far when you're already so far behind?" Bane said.
"I'm more than willing to endure and make payments like that to help me obtain victory." Houki said. "There's more. That card you destroyed was actually Secured Insurance. When that card is destroyed, it returns to my hand." Houki's trap emerged from her graveyard and was added to her hand. "Is there anything else you're going to try?"
"No. I'm a little curious to see what you're going to try. It's not going to work either way." Bane said.
"Thank you again." Houki said as she drew her next card. "You wanted to know what I was up to, here it is. I activate my face-down! It's called Reversal Armor. This spell card actually works on monsters who has equip spell cards. This takes the effects of those equip cards and puts them in reverse."
"In reverse?!" Bane said.
"That's right. You've got three equip spells on your ship that gave it a grand total of 2100atk points." Houki said. "Well, thanks to my spell card, Battleship Delta Starcruiser is as harmless as a toy now."
"No way!" Bane said as his ship was losing power. It now only has 600atk points.
"Coronix, attack! Blow that thing to pieces!" Houki said. "Attack with Phoenix Inferno!" Coronix encased itself in fire and flew right at the ship. It smashed right into it and completely destroyed it in an explosion with Bane's life points dropping to 2000. All of them were glad to see that Houki managed to destroy Bane's best card, but they were all surprised to see it was still there and it was back to 4100atk points. "How is it still there?"
"You're not the only one who can pull a fast one." Bane said. "Right after your attack connected, I activated my trap card. "It's called Battleship Time Jump. This trap card brings back my monster right when you destroyed it, as well as any cards that might have been equipped to it."
"Darn it. I thought Houki had it." Rin said.
"It's not over yet. She could still pull this off." Ryu said. That's all they can hope for, but it isn't looking good for her.
"I place two cards facedown and end my turn!" Houki said.
'She's got no cards left in her hand. One of them must be that Secure Insurance, but what does that card even do?' Bane said. 'Oh well. It doesn't matter. She can't pull off the same trick again. This duel is mine.'
"Come on, Houki." Ichika said as they all thought this duel was going to end here.
"Delta Starcruiser, attack and put an end to this duel!" Bane said as it was getting ready to attack again.
"No you don't! I activate Secure Insurance! Thanks to this, I can use the effects of one card spell or trap card and return that card to my deck!" Houki said. "By returning Reversal Armor to my deck, I can use it's effects once more."
"You've got to be kidding me!" Bane said as his Battleship lost power again to 600atk points.
"There's more! This duel is ending because I activate my second trap: Mimicking Reversal!" Houki said. "Since your monster just lost attack points, this trap increased Coronix's by the same amount!" Coronix's attack points increased to 4500. It flew right through Starcruiser's attacks and smashed into it again. The destruction stuck this time with the ship destroyed and Bane's life points dropping to zero.
"She won!" Cecilia said as all of her friends were glad to see that she did it.
"No way! I protest! This duel doesn't count!" Bane said.
"What a sore loser." Charlotte said.
"Take your defeat like a man!" Rin said.
"There's no way you won!" Bane said. "That's not even your qualification card! You should have been disqualified!"
"You're right about that." Houki said as she held out the star card. "This card belonged to Hector. It's thanks to him that I made it. That raises a suspicious question. How do you know this isn't mine, Bane?" That questioned had Bane stumped as to how he should answer that.
"I can answer that." Peggrin said. "The answer is because he stole your original card, Houki. There's more. The reason he was able to draw three copies of the same card was because he had them marked. His drawing is quite good. He was able to move through his deck and draw the card he wanted." Bane was caught and was in trouble now.
"What a cheater!" Cecilia said.
"That means he should be the one disqualified!" Laura said.
"Yes. You lost either way, Bane. I just didn't want to ruin a good show." Peggrin said.
"No way! I'm not going anywhere!" Bane said. "At least not without me getting something out of this!"
"Fine. How about a one-way ticket." Peggrin said as he pressed a hidden button. It opened a trapdoor in the bridge and Bane fell all the way down and could not be seen anymore. Ichika and the others were shocked that happened and now they don't even know what happened to him. "Don't worry. He'll be fine. He's just being escorted in a different way."
"Now, we can get ready for the final duel." Crone said. "Ichika Orimura vs. Houki Shinonono." Houki and Ichika looked at each other. Neither of them seemed ready, but they knew a time like this was bound to come. In order to decide who will fight Peggrin, two old friends must face each other.
