Chapter 38: The Great Escape
Izuku cursed. The storm was obscuring his senses. It's been years since he felt like he was stumbling blindly.
"Brat, pay attention," William snapped, worried for his reincarnation, but not being able to do anything to help.
"I'm trying," Izuku cried. "I can't see anything! And, I can't use my advanced hearing or the storm will deafen me!"
William growled in frustration as he tore at his hair.
"Can you sense anybody nearby," William pleaded.
"Maybe," Izuku said, hesitantly. "Everything feels kinda muffled."
William put his head in his hands and groaned. He knew he should've forced them to train in the rain more, but Inko never liked it. She was too afraid of them catching a cold. Well, catching a cold is better than being dead!
"Can you use my eyes," Springtrap asked.
"I can't transform in the rain," Izuku said, baffled. "The springlocks!"
"Not a full transformation, squirt," Springtrap said with a scoff. "Just the eyes."
Izuku bit his lips in thought. He's never tried a partial transformation before...
"It's worth a shot," William said, and Izuku nodded.
He just hoped he didn't accidentally fully transform.
Izuku took a deep breath and focused on his eyes. He willed them to change as he thought about Spring. Slowly, he noticed a change. Everything was sharper than it normally way, and he wasn't seeing in red!
"Wow," Izuku mumbled as he took in his surroundings. "This is so cool!"
"Heh, just don't forget what situation your in," Springtrap muttered, embarrassed.
Izuku chuckled, but nodded in acknowledgment. William just breathed a sigh of relief.
Izuku quickly started to head in the direction of the entrance, his eyes peeled for danger.
However, before he got far, he heard panicked screeching.
Izuku cursed and ran towards the direction of the noise. He desperately hoped his classmate(s) weren't in trouble.

Uraraka and Iida stood frozen, along with their other classmates, watching as the warp gate user turned Thirteen's quirk against them.
"You turned yourself to dust," the warp villain taunted.
"He's got me...," the space hero uttered as they stopped their quirk, their back torn apart.
"Sensei," Hagekure cried in dispair.
"What would Zuku and Toshi do," Uraraka desperately thought as she tried not to cry. "They'd have a plan, right?"
"Idia, run" Sato exclaimed. "Hurry!"
Iida opened his mouth to object to leaving his classmates behind.
"Iida-kun, he's right," Uraraka said as he bangs covered her face; leaving it in shadow. "What would Midoriya-kun and Shinsou-kun do in this situation?"
Iida closed his eyes and nodded as he fired up his engines.
"Wait," Uraraka yelled before he could rush off.
"What is it, Uraraka-san," Iida asked, puzzled.
Quickly, Uraraka touched his costume, and he instantly felt lighter.
"There," she said, forcing cheeriness into her voice. "Now you'll be even quicker!"
"Thank you," Iida said sincerely, and he rushed off.
The warp villain tried to stop Iida, but Aoyama used his naval laser to distract him, and the light reflected of Hagekure which shot off a blind light. The villain screamed in pain, and—with the help of his costume being feather light—Iida escaped to the cheers of his classmates.
"Hurry Iida," Uraraka prayed internally.

When Izuku reached the area where he heard the screams, he was surprised to see Dark Shadow going on a rampage.
"Midoriya," Ojiro called as he hurried over to his classmate.
"What's going on," Izuku asked when the tailed teen reached him.
"We were fighting the villains together when one of the villains got me pretty good," the blonde said as he showed Izuku a decent sized slice on his chest. "After that...well, Tokoyami lost control of Dark Shadow."
Izuku nodded.
"Wish we had a light source," Izuku thought. "That would make this easier..."
"Do any of these buildings have supplies," Izuku asked. "Maybe we could make a chemical fire or find something that'll light up to weaken Dark Shadow. If worse comes to worse, I could try what I did in the cafeteria..."
Ojiro's face became determined.
"It's worth a shot," the teen said.
It took a few minutes, but both teens came back with a few items they could possibly use.
"I can't believe they keep these things here," Ojiro said while shaking his head in disbelief.
"Just be grateful that they do," Izuku said as he filled Kirishima's thermos with homemade grease, paint thinner, lighter fluid, rubbing alcohol, and a ripped piece of his costume. "If not, we'd be in trouble..."
Ojiro nodded.
"Right, let's go," the tailed boy said, jittery.
Izuku nodded and carefully picked up the thermos.
He's going to have to apologize to Kirishima later...

Iida rn as fast as he could without using his recipro burst. He had to find help! He needed to get the teachers! His classmates and friends were in danger!
Iida felt so useless just running away like this. He wanted to be with his classmates. He was the vice class president!
But...he was the only one fast enough to get help...
If this was what he could do, he would do it to the best of his ability!
Iida ground his teeth as he forced himself to move faster. His lungs were burning, and he could feel his engines starting to strain. However, he could see UA's main building in the distance, so he pushed the pain away.
He'd save his classmates by bringing help.
Iida burst through the doors with a stained smile.
At the moment, he wasn't the hero he wanted to be, but he was the hero his friends needed.
"Sensei," Iida yelled as he burst into the teacher's lounge, startling Allmight and the principal. "There's been an attack on the USJ!"

Izuku was perched up on the roof across from the raging Dark Shadow with Ojiro.
"Ready," the dual haired boy asked the blonde.
"Are you sure this will work," the tailed teen asked his companion.
"Yeah," Izuku said. "At least 80% sure."
Ojiro looked at Izuku stunned, and then he asked warily, "What about the other 20%?"
"Be prepared to run," Izuku said with a lazy drawl. "We'll need to make it outta this stupid rain zone so there's enough light to give Tokoyami control. Well, that's if I can't subdue him with my aura or can't know him out..."
Ojiro nodded.
"So, at least we have options," the muttered.
"Mhm," Izuku hummed. "I just prefer my chances with this. I was trained in subterfuge before my quirk developed. And, I still like working from the shadows..."
Ojiro nodded in understanding.
Izuku smirked, and then said. "Be prepared, I'm about to blow this joint!"
Ojiro gulped and nodded.
"On my mark," Izuku drawled lazily, eyes alight. "10."
Ojiro tensed as they watched Dark Shadow destroy another building.
"9."
Dark Shadow through a villain into a group of their comrades.
"8."
Tokoyami screamed again as he tried to control his rampaging quirk.
"7."
Dark Shadow laughed as he tore up a mail box and through it through a window.
"6."
Ojiro crossed his fingers praying that this plan would work.
"5."
The villains that regained consciousness tried to work together, but Dark Shadow was too strong.
"4."
Tokoyami pleaded with the quirk to stop.
"3."
Ojiro prepared to run if things went wrong as Izuku quickly lit the end of the thoroughly grease soaked cloth.
"2."
Izuku readjusted his hold on the thermos and prepared his throw.
"1."
Izuku threw the thermos and the two teens watched as it burst into bright yellow-orange flames. Dark Shadow screeched, and he started to shrink.
When Dark Shadow was about half way shrunk, the flames started dying, and Izuku cursed. The rain must be too strong.
"William," Izuku asked, dismayed.
"Just wait," William reassured the teen with a smirk.
Then, the thermos exploded.
Spring laughed manically in their mind space.
Dark Shadow rapidly shrunk under the now bright fire, and Tokoyami fell to his knees panting from the exertion of trying to control his quirk.
Izuku and Ojirio quickly—and carefully—ran down the fire escape to check up on their classmate.
"Thank you," the raven headed boy said with a relieved smile.
"No problem," Izuku said with a reassuring smirk. "Thanks for taking care of the villains."
Tokoyami chuckled, self deprecatingly.
"I could have seriously hurt you both," the bird headed boy said.
"But, you didn't," Izuku said shaking his head. "And, you'll gain more control with training. This is the first really stressful situation you've been in. Cut yourself some slack. We need you focused."
Tokoyami looked at the dual haired boy with grateful eyes, and Izuku fidgeted uncomfortably.
"You're right, Midoriya-kun," Tokoyami said. "Thank you."
"No problem," Izuku said softly as he ran a hand through his long, soaked locks. "Anyways, let's get back to the entrance."
His two companions nodded.
