"As you all know," Takeda said, writing on the chalkboard behind him, "the games finished up last week." He finished the writing. "So now, you should be concerned about only one other thing." He slapped the chalkboard, which said Internships. "You all need hero names for your internships." He grinned as excited whispers spread throughout the classroom. "Here are your whiteboards, write your hero name ideas on them." He passed out small whiteboards and dry erase markers. "And I will be right back. Talk amongst yourselves for the time being." With a final tap of his papers, he left the classroom.
Shoyo bounced excitedly up to Kageyama's desk. "Kageyama, do you have a hero name picked out?"
Kageyama shook his head. "What about you?"
Shoyo's face widened as a giant bullfrog-like smile spread across it. "Yep! But mine is a surprise." He leaned down to put his elbows on Kageyama's desk. "Do you have any ideas, though?"
Kageyama wrinkled his nose. "I can only think of the King."
"Hey, I think the King could be a good hero name," Shoyo consoled, leaning down further and looking up at Kageyama with his clear brown eyes. "Something like...King Precision or Precision King."
Kageyama's face turned a deep red, and he looked away from Shoyo. "That sounds dumb."
"Alright, everyone," Takeda announced his return to the classroom, "I brought a special someone to help with our hero names! Our very own number four hero, Red Riot!"
"What a manly intro, Protector!" an excited voice rang throughout the classroom. The owner of the voice walked in, a big, bright smile on his face. "Hey everyone!"
The entire class's mood seemed to brighten. As though they weren't happy enough, now they're sitting in front of the Red Riot! Elevated whispers spread throughout the classroom like a pandemic.
Takeda cleared his throat, silencing the whispers. "Red Riot will help judge your hero names. I'm not the best at it." He chuckled. "The floor is all yours, Red."
Red Riot bumped his fists together. "Yeah! Now, you all might be wondering, 'Red Riot, how did you choose such a manly hero name?' Well, guys, it's a pretty cool story." He pointed a thumb at himself. "My hero name is based off of the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot! Pretty manly, huh?"
Shoyo bounced in his seat. Red Riot was number four on the hero charts. That meant he was a pretty big deal. If he could get Red Riot to approve of his name, then he'd be golden.
"So, who wants to go first?" Immediately, several hands shot up. Red Riot laughed. "Alright, looks like all of you! How about…" He looked around before pointing at Tsukishima, who didn't have his hand up. "You, the angry looking guy! I'm sure you have a good one."
Tsukishima's scowl deepened as he stood up. He walked hesitantly to the front of the room, setting his whiteboard up on the podium. With a red face, he said, "I'll be the Shielding Hero: Guardian."
"Nice one," Red Riot congratulated. "I like it. It reminds me of Protector's name." He looked at the man in question, who put a thumbs up. "Is it based on his?"
"No," Tsukishima corrected, "it's based on my quirk."
"Still pretty manly," Riot said, shooing Tsukishima off. "Who's next?" Once again, several hands were raised. He looked around the room before pointing at Inuoka. "You go next."
Inuoka grinned, bouncing to the front of the room. "I'm the Flying Hero: Sky High!"
"Sounds like you're going to great heights with that manly name!"
One by one, each 1A student went up to the front of the class to announce their hero names.
"I'm the Dark Hero: Shadow," Hyakuzawa droned.
"Woah, sounds kinda spooky!" Riot said, smiling. "I like it!"
"I'm the Psychic Hero: Future Ace!" Goshiki declared.
"That's pretty interesting!"
"I-I'm the Bad Luck Hero: A-Albatross," Yachi squeaked.
"I bet you'll be able to scare some villains with that ominous name!"
"My hero name is the Floating Hero: Airborne," Yamaguchi's voice shook.
"That's pretty manly!"
"I'm the Quiet Hero: Deaf Ears," Kuribayashi whispered.
"That matches your personality!"
"I'm the Poisonous Hero: Stinger!" Kindaichi shouted.
"Yeowch, I wouldn't want to get on your bad side!"
"I'll be the Sensing Hero: Insectoid!" Koganegawa announced.
"That makes sense, with your antennae!"
"I'm the Stretchy Hero: Rubber Man," Haiba stated.
"Pretty plain, but that works!" Riot looked around the classroom after directing Haiba back to his seat. "Who haven't we heard from yet?" He tapped his chin. "The redhead and the other angry looking guy, right?" He pointed at Shoyo. "You go first."
Shoyo's legs shook. What if Red Riot didn't like his name? What if he said no? What if- No. He couldn't think that way. He finally made it to the front of the room. "I'm the Winged Hero: Winged Giant!"
"That name reminds me of Tiny Giant," Riot observed. "Did you get inspiration from him?"
Shoyo nodded, his bullfrog smile back. "Tiny Giant is my favorite hero! He's so cool!"
Riot grinned wider. "Pretty manly. Also pretty tough to hold up that mantle. Use the name wisely, and you can honor the name of Giant for generations." When Shoyo went back to his seat, he pointed at Kageyama. "Your turn!"
Kageyama took a deep breath. He trudged to the front of the room, setting his whiteboard up on the podium. "I'm the Precise Hero: King Crow."
As soon as he heard the name, Shoyo tuned everything out. His mind ran with questions upon questions. Did Kageyama use his idea? He said it was a dumb idea, but he used it. Why else would he use King? And "crow"? Why crow of all words?
"That's a royally manly name," Riot encouraged. "Is there a reason why you chose something that doesn't relate to your quirk?"
Kageyama didn't look at Riot when he said, "No reason."
"Alright, then," Riot continued, sending Kageyama back to his seat. "Now you all have your hero names. This means that everyone has a duty as a hero. Use them wisely." He turned to Takeda. "Okay, you can have your students back."
Takeda nodded, standing in front of the podium. "Thanks, Red Riot." Turning to the class, he smiled. "Now, since the sports festival, our students have been getting internship offers." He clicked a button on a remote that lit up a hologram. "Here's a list on who got offers." As expected, Yamaguchi was at the top of the list with the most offers, then Kageyama, then Shoyo. "Even though only a few of you got offers, everyone will be doing a week of internships. It'll help all of you to get experience in a professional environment. So please, choose a place you think will encourage you to keep going. That's all. Class is dismissed."
A/N: My co-author recommended that Red Riot should be the name judger, so uhhhhh, ye, here y'all go
