Yukin has decided that enough was enough. He went to take on Soto to put an end to this madness that Soto has brought. The only way to do that was to face Soto in a duel.
"Are you ready? It's been a while since we've dueled each other." Soto said. "Only I'm going all-out this time."
"You don't scare me, Soto. You're going to regret what you're doing." Yukin said.
"Let's duel!" Both of them said as it begun with them having 4000LP. With their duel about to start, Klaus stayed out of sight as he watched the duel unfold. He thought this would be an interesting one. As for Drewsin, he stayed back as he supported Yukin in this.
"I'm going first!" Soto said. "I'll start by activating Polymerization right from the start! I'm fusing Phantom Dancer with Elegant Dancer Emil Tango!" He started strong with his two monsters fusing together. "Dancer of mystery and dancer of sensual, these two together will win this duel! I fusion summon Phantom Dancer Blackhole!" He summoned out his fusion monster as it came out with 2200atk points. "I place one card facedown and that ends my turn."
"Soto, stop what you're doing." Yukin said.
"Yukin, I told you that you're not talking me out of this." Soto said.
"Yukin, he's made his decision. You can't reason with him." Drewsin said.
"I at least want to hear what he has to say about this." Yukin said. "Soto, what you're doing is wrong. This isn't what dueling is about."
"Of course it is, Yukin." Soto said. "Dueling is about beating your enemies and crushing them with power. That's what it's always been about."
"No, it's not! You should know better than that!" Yukin said. "I'll show you that you're wrong by beating you right here, right now! I draw!" Yukin drew his card as he had no intention of holding back. "I'm going to start by Pack Donkey to the field!" He summoned out his donkey as it came out with 1600atk points. "Next, I activate Pack Donkey's ability! When he's summoned, if I have a level four or lower monster in my hand, I can summon it out as well! I'm summoning Change-o Chameleon!" He summoned out his chameleon as it came out with 1100atk points. "Next, I'm activating United Stance to summon the other two that are in my deck." He summoned out his other two chameleons to the field.
"I see what you're planning to do with them." Soto said.
"Do you? Let's find out!" Yukin said. "Thanks to their special abilities, I can change one chameleon into a fire attribute and another into a water attribute!" Two of his chameleons changed to red and blue. All was set now. "I combine the forces of fire with the forces of water! Come together as one!" His two chameleons had fire and water form around them and they came together. "I elemental summon a sapphire attribute! I summon Sapphire Serapho!" Sapphire Serapho emerged on the field with him having all 2500atk points.
"Wow! So that's elemental summoning!" Drewsin said as he was amazed by it.
"Sapphire Serapho, attack his phantom dancer! Attack with Spiral Blue Flame!" Yukin said. Sapphire Serapho launched the attack as it blasted Blackhole and Soto being pushed back. "Don't forget that Sapphire Serapho deals double damage when it attacks a monster!" Soto's life points dropped to 3400 with his dancer being destroyed.
"That all you got?" Soto said.
"Not even close! Pack Donkey is attacking you directly!" Yukin said as his donkey charged at Soto.
"Think again!" Soto said as he played his trap. "I activate Fusion Reincarnation! This trap allows me to bring back a fusion monster. However, I need to send all copies of one of the monsters I used to fusion summon it to the graveyard. Since I have two other copies of Phantom Dancer, I can send them to the graveyard to bring back Phantom Dancer Blackhole!" When he discarded the other two cards, his dancer came back at full power.
"Stop!" Yukin said as his donkey stopped the attack. "I place two cards facedown to end my turn." 'I've got to be careful with what I do next. If Phantom Dancer Blackhole destroys one of my monsters, it will get stronger.'
"It's my turn!" Soto said as he drew his next card. "I activate Phantom's Show! Since I have a Phantom Dancer on my field, this spell allows me to take any Elegant Dancer from my deck and summon it to the field. I'm bringing out Fria Tango!" He summoned out Fria as she came out with 1200atk points. "There's more. For every dancer I have on the field, I can draw an extra card. Since I have two now, I can draw two more cards!" He drew his other two cards and he liked what he got. "Perfect. I'm activating Phantom Dancer Fusion!"
"Phantom Dancer Fusion? Another fusion card?!" Yukin said.
"That's right. This spell allows me to fusion summon by removing one of my Phantom Dancers from play." Soto said. "I fuse one of them with Fria Tango!" This caused another fusion to begin. "Dancer of romance and dancer of mystery, these two together will make you history! I fusion summon Phantom Dancer Scarlet Despair!" Yukin summoned out Scarlet Despair as she came out with 2800atk points. "I could use her to destroy Sapphire Serapho, but I do know you'll just bring it back. Using Scarlet's ability isn't enough either. It will just come back next turn. So, I'll have to settle for this! Phantom Dancer Scarlet Despair, attack Change-o Chameleon with Scarlet Devastation!" She formed scarlet energy and launched a series of attacks.
"Not so fast, Soto!" Yukin said. "I'm activating Defensive Stand! This switches all of my monsters to defense mode and they can't be destroyed!" All his monsters switched to defense mode with his chameleon having 200def points, his donkey having 1200def points, and Sapphire Serapho having 2000. Thanks to his trap, the attacks were blocked by a barrier. "I've seen you duel, Soto. I know your tricks."
"That's fine because I know your tricks as well, Yukin." Soto said.
"Not all of them." Yukin said as he had an idea that Soto won't expect.

Downtown
Meanwhile, in another part of town, an intense duel was going on. Yukin's friends were dueling against three Promin Academy students. After seeing what happened to Reese, they saw how serious this was. With Sylvester and Siegrain, they worked together and pushed back the students.
"Neptunian Ruler, attack!" Siegrain said.
"Yokaizer Hinoenma, take them down!" Sylvester said. Both of their monsters attacked and they were able to beat all three Promin Academy students.
"That's what you get when you enter my city." Sylvester said.
"Slow down, Casanova. What are you even doing here? You were taken out of the tournament." Siegrain said.
"Is that the thanks I get for helping you?" Sylvester asked.
"I helped you!" Siegrain said. While those two were arguing, Lana and Siri were able to help Shun get back on his feet.
"Are you okay?" Lana asked.
"Yeah." Shun said.
"Well, now that that's taken care of, we better find Yukin. He's dueling Soto right now." Siegrain said. "Soto has a lot of explaining to do." He got moving with the others following. They just hope they're not too late.

Yukin
"Soto, I don't understand. Why are you and the rest of Promin academy doing this?" Yukin said. "Attacking people? Hurting them? Turning them into cards? What's it all for?"
"It's all for Promin Academy's ultimate goal. It's to bring the world together and bring about everlasting peace." Soto said.
"You expect us to believe that?!" Drewsin said as he was angry Soto even had the nerve to say that.
"Drewsin's right. Nothing of what you've done here says peace." Yukin said. "You attacked Neon City and turned people into cards! How does any of that say peace?!"
"Stuff happens. You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs." Soto said.
"Are you saying you don't even care about the lives you've ruined?" Yukin said as he was getting angry. "If that's how you feel, why didn't you even sign up for True Duel? Why did you come here?"
"If you must know, I was sent here to investigate LID." Soto said. "We got word that LID was planning something for us. I was sent here as a spy to intervene, until I saw you with your elemental summoning. I knew we had to have that power. So, I was hoping for the right moment to recruit you to our side, Yukin."
"You wanted me to join you? Join you in hurting people?!" Yukin said. "What made you think I would ever agree to that?!"
"Well, I can see that you won't, so you'll suffer the same fate as those who dare oppose us." Soto said.
"I can't believe this." Yukin said as he was furious. "The whole time you were with us was nothing more than a lie! I thought you were our friend, but it all meant nothing!"
"Yukin, you can't reason with him. He's made his choice." Drewsin said.
"I can see that. That leaves only one thing to do. I draw!" Yukin said as he drew his next card. "I activate Card of Advance! I'll destroy my own card to draw another!" Yukin destroyed his own face-down, but it allowed him to draw another card. "Next, I activate Harmonic Waves! This spell card changes one monster into a level four! That means Change-o Chameleon is becoming a level four monster!" His chameleon's level changed and he now has two level four monsters. "Drewsin, Soto's lost sight of what dueling is about. I need your power to set him straight."
"My power?" Drewsin said as he didn't understand, but he soon got it. "Do it."
"I build the overlay network with Change-o Chameleon and Pack Donkey!" Yukin said as the two turned into energy and came together in the network. "From the shadows and controls the dark, he show no mercy to his enemies! I xyz summon Shadow Shudamin!" He summoned out Drewsin's card as it showed itself with 2500atk points.
"You can xyz summon?!" Soto said.
"I'm just getting started!" Yukin said. "I activate Shadow Shudamin's ability! I use one overlay unit to take half of your monster's attack points and make it his own! Dark Voltage!" Shadow Shudamin took one of his units and used the power from it to absorb Scarlet Despair's power. Hers dropped to 1400 while his rose to 3900. "Shadow Shudamin, power-up again!" He used the ability again as Shadow Shudamin's power rose to 4600 and Scarlet Despair's dropped to 700. "It's over! Shadow Shudamin, attack Scarlet Despair with Shadow Piercing Strike!" Shadow Shudamin flew at Scarlet Despair. This attack could end the duel.
"I activate the effects of Phantom Dancer Fusion from my graveyard!" Soto said. "By banishing it from my graveyard, any fusion monster that used Phantom Dancer in the fusion can't be destroyed! I also only take half the damage!" A barrier came between the two monsters, but Soto was still blown back as his life points dropped to 1450.
"I can still just finish this with Sapphire Serapho!" Yukin said.
"No you can't!" Soto said. "If I happen to have Phantom Dancer that was banished earlier when this effect happens, which I do, the battle phase also ends!" Yukin groaned with annoyance, but there's no much more he can do.
"I end my turn." Yukin said with annoyance as the monsters' attack points returned to normal.
"Soto is a tough one." Klaus said.
"Klaus!" Klaus looked to the side and saw Yukin's friends arriving.
"You're here too?" Siegrain said.
"How's Yukin doing?" Lana said.
"Pretty good, but that might change." Klaus said.
"My turn!" Soto said as he drew his next card. "I'll start by activating Pot of Greed! This spell allows me to draw two more cards!" Soto drew two more cards and he liked what he saw. "I activate Mystic Convergence! I can only activate this when I have two fusion monsters on the field! This allows me to special summon a third from my extra deck!"
"You've got to be kidding me." Yukin said.
"I'm afraid not. Say hello to Phantom Dancer Hollow Vamp!" Soto said as he summoned out his third fusion monster. Hollow Vamp appeared with 3000atk points. "It's over! I activate Hollow Vamp's ability! By sending a card in my hand to the graveyard, I can destroy one card on the field! Say goodbye to Shadow Shudamin! Go, Vampiric Fluttering!" Hollow Vamp unleashed a flock of bats that destroyed Shadow Shudamin. "There's more! Thanks to Scarlet Despair's ability, Sapphire Serapho is banished until the end of my turn!" Scarlet Despair used her power and Sapphire Serapho vanished.
"Oh no! That means he's defenseless!" Siegrain said.
"And with all that power, there's nothing he can do to stop him!" Sylvester said.
"This is what happens to anyone who dares oppose us!" Soto said as he had all three of his monsters attack and caused a large explosion. Everyone thought that was it, but the smoke cleared away and Yukin was unharmed. "What?! How did you not lose any life points?!"
"It's all thanks to the trap I destroyed with Card of Advance: Sanctity Sanctum." Yukin said. "The power of that trap only activates when it's destroyed. When it is, I take no damage until my next turn."
"Darn it." Soto groaned as he thought he had it. "I guess I'll just end my turn."
"My turn!" Yukin said as he drew his next card. "Since it is, Sapphire Serapho returns to the field." Sapphire Serapho returned and was back to full power. "I also know Hollow Vamp's countereffect."
"What?" Soto said.
"That's right. If I choose to, I can give up half of my life points and bring back the monster you destroyed. That's just what I'm doing." Yukin said. His life points dropped to 2000, but Shadow Shudamin returned.
"It's great he has both of those monsters, but they're not strong enough to take on all three of those monsters." Klaus said.
"He's up to something." Siegrain said.
"Soto, you've lost sight of what dueling is about, but I can't just forget what you did." Yukin said. "I'm going to show you how much you messed up. Sapphire Serapho, Shadow Shudamin, lend me your strength." Both of his monsters looked at him and it seemed like they were in agreement with what he has planned. "I activate Equilibrium! This spell card changes the level of one monster to match the level of another, and if that monster is an xyz monster, it's rank becomes a level!"
"No way!" Soto said.
"Yes way!" Yukin said. "I'm changing Shadow Shudamin to a level seven like Sapphire Serapho!" Energy gathered around both monsters as Shadow Shudamin became a level seven monster. "I now overlay Shadow Shudamin and Sapphire Serapho!" The two of them became energy as they combined into one monster. "With blue flames of darkness, this monster will bring down all who oppose him! I xyz summon Shadow Sapphire Serapho!" He summoned out his newest monster as it came out with 3000atk points.
"Wow! You really are full of surprises, Yukin!" Soto said as he smiled.
"There! See?!" Yukin said. "I bet deep down you love dueling simply because you love the game. You know what you're doing is wrong. Say what you want, but you can't fake a smile like that." When he said that, it really did have Soto thinking. "I now activate Shadow Sapphire Serapho's ability! I use all of his overlay units to destroy all monsters who are level seven or lower! Then, every duelist who lost a monster lose 1000LP!" Serapho used both overlay units and unleashed it's flames that destroyed Blackhole and Soto's life points dropped to 450.
"Well, Blackhole was the only one destroyed." Soto said. "Scarlet Despair and Hollow Vamp are level eight."
"That's fine. Serapho can now attack a total of three times this turn." Yukin said. "I'm also activating Vanquished Evil and equipping it on to Serapho! With this, whenever he deals damage, he gains attack points equal to the damage you take! With that, it will be just enough to end this duel!" This looked like the end for Soto. "Shadow Sapphire Serapho, attack!" Serapho readied it's attack as it was going to end the duel right here. Just before the attack connected, a buzzer went off and the dueling all stopped.
"What just happened?" Siegrain said.
"Time's up. The battle royale is over." Klaus said.
"Man, another second and Yukin would have had him." Lana said. She turned to Siri to talk to her. "By the way, Zoey, what was going on earlier? You hanging around with other men while trying to be with my Yukin."
"I'm not Zoey." Siri said. When she said that, everyone was shocked.
"You're not? Who are you?" Yukin said.
"I'm Siri. Zoey and I switched clothes to get Promin Academy off my trail." Siri said. "However, I'm afraid Promin Academy has her now."
"What?!" Yukin said as he didn't like the sound of that. "Soto! Where's Zoey?! Do you know something?!" Soto didn't answer. What he did was reach for his duel disk and he was transported out of there. "Soto!"
"What is going on around here?!" Siegrain said.
"It was all a test and the test is over." All of them looked and saw that Renji has arrived on the scene now.
"There you are, Renji. I did what you asked. That means you'll make me part of the Knights of Legend, right?" Sylvester said.
"Knights of Legend? What's that?" Siegrain asked.
"This whole battle royale was a test. It was to see who was capable of joining the Knights of Legend." Sylvester said.
"A test?!" Yukin said.
"Yes. As of this moment, everything you know is about to change." Renji said. So much has happened to so many people. Yukin's lost some friends. Now, things are about to change for him and for others. What awaits him and everyone else? Whatever will happen, they're days of dueling just for the fun of the game have come to an end.
