Chapter 50: Epilogue

(WARNING: If you haven't read the manga yet, this chapter has some spoilers to it.)

Smoke rose from the ground into the sky. The Seireitei was on fire. An enemy had come out of the shadows of Soul Society's past and literally bit everyone in their asses. Taken by surprise, many were killed in an instant without knowing what or who had killed them. Captain's lost their Bankai's because of a secret ability created by the leader of the enemy who, once it was revealed, was the Soul Kong's son; the ancestor of all Quincy.

Currently surrounded by a hundred young Quincy's, Ichigo couldn't help but feel betrayed by his friend, Uryu Ishida who had joined the enemy forces. Zangetsu pushed his wielder forward. Having been trained in the royal realm, Ichigo was tens of times stronger than she he had fought Aizen. He still had his friends fighting next to him in their own battles. Rukia was fighting As Nodt in retaliation for Byakuya losing his Bankai to the man. She felt it her duty to get her brother's bankai back by defeating the monstrosity that was As Nodt.

An arrow narrowly missed Ichigo's head before Zangetsu comes up to block the arrow. Blue lines appear on the right side of Ichigo's face and right arms as he swings his zanpakuto. "Getsuga Tensho!" he tells out, an arch of black and red energy was released towards the group of young Quincies, who cried out in pain as their bodies are torn apart from the attack.

It hurts Ichigo to see such young people dying needlessly. How could Yhwach allow children to fight in this war? Shouldn't a leader care somewhat about his people? He cares nothing for them. Zangetsu told him. They are nothing but canon fodder to him. He devours his own people's powers to keep himself stronger. A flash of an image of his mother and sister's appeared in his mind. We will keep them safe Ichigo. Zangetsu promised.

Suddenly a dozen arrows flew towards the teenager only for them to explode before coming in contact with him. Covering his eyes to protect them from the blast Ichigo saw a figure appear in front of him. Dressed completely in white with black armour on his shoulders, the figure was revealed to be Shiro. Since his training, Shiro seemed impossibly stronger than ever! A barrier had appeared around Ichigo's position, explaining why the arrows had exploded.

"Yo, Ichi." Shiro greeted his brother with a look over his shoulder. "Zen and I thought you could use help."

Zengetsu and Zangetsu were unusual zanpakuto's. Ichigo's true blade were dual short black on white swords, as Shiro's was a single white on black blade that was absolutely huge. However, his true attack was different from Ichigo's. True, both could do Getsuga Tensho, so could their father. Shiro had discovered his true attack during his training in the royal realm too.

"Let's end this Ichi," Shiro told him as he raised his hand to lower the barrier. "We've got bigger fish to fry." Meaning Yhwach.

Ichigo lifted his blades in preparation for his next attack. "Agreed."

As soon as the barrier dropped Ichigo cried out, "Getsuga Jujisho!" The attack that he had once used years ago was a thousand times more powerful than before. A cross formed from the attack, hundreds upon hundreds of arrows began to called from the sky.

Shiro lifted Zengetsu from his back. As the blade pointed towards the sky, Shiro spoke a chant. "Shirai kiba no tsuki no bakufu." (white fang moon blast) It was more of a release for a shikai rather than an attack. The white on the blade lit up with energy, energy that was released towards those in front of him in huge blast that consumed those in front of them.

Lowering the blade, Shiro grinned at his brother. "Show off." Ichigo muttered under his breath causing Shiro to laugh.

"I haven't even shown you my new cero attack." he bloated a bit.

"Please don't." Ichigo told him as the two ran through the ruined city to meet up with allies in order to take on Yhwach and end this war. They could feel Rukia release her bankai, and felt it when Renji released his. Knowing their battles were coming to a close, the twins pushed their legs to run faster to meet at the agreed upon place.

When they arrived the two saw the one man they wish they didn't have ally themselves with to defeat the madman ahead of them. Aizen grinned at the two, his right she covered by an eye patch. Both had heard that his powers had increased since he had been sealed away, but hadn't believed it until now. They could feel it simmering under those black robes that contained his power.

"Tch." Irritated, Shiro walked passed the other man with Ichigo. "Try not to get your bastard self killed. You still have time to serve for your crimes."

"Shiro." Ichigo warned his brother.

Aizen chuckled. "For a hollow-"

Shiro growled. "Former!"

"Apologies." Aizen stated with arrogance. "You still do not know your place."

Ichigo gripped his zanpakuto trying not the behead the bastard. "And where would that be?" Ichigo asked.

Aizen eyed the other boy. "At the feet of his betters."

Ichigo was about to attack him when Shiro burst out laughing. "You really are full of yerself." Shiro stated before leaning forward towards Aizen, his golden eyes flashing with mischief. "Ah, but that's why yer not a king, yer a horse who does the kings biddings." Shiro had a brief gleeful moment when Aizen's arrogant smile vanished from his face faded.

"And who is your king, hollow?" Aizen was purposefully trying to hair Shiro, who refused to fall for his trick.

Shiro's grin broadened as he stood tall and away from Aizen, his eyes giving a side glance towards Ichigo. "Wouldn't you like to know." Before they could continue to banter back and forth Renji joined them, forcing the group to continue their way to fight their true enemy. A battle soon ensued, one that would determine whether Soul Society, the world of the living and Hueco Mundo would continue to exist as they had or if they would seize to exist.

In the end, many would die for that answer. It would be the Kurosaki twins who would stop Yhwach. Ishida would betray Yhwach in the end, helping the duo. With a combination of Aizen using his illusions to give the others a way to stop Yhwach. In an instant things could've gone either way and with an upper hand, because of the twin's, Soul Society and the Seireitei were able to fight back and survive until the next time an enemy would challenge them.

I plan to finish my other projects before beginning anything new. This includes finishing my other Bleach story Two of A Kind, which is only a quarter of the way finished. LoL!
