It's pouring down, but not in that heavy and irritating kind of way. It's more like a nice slow pour, if that makes sense? They'd woken that morning and decided to stick to the plan of exploring the city even in the rain, deciding they wanted to walk more than not. Being locked inside their hotel wasn't the only thing they'd decided on when they booked their trip. Sure, being locked inside would've been a nice time too but they both agreed they wanted out and smell the fresh air.

"This is nice," Kate says as she huddles closer to her boyfriend, her arm around his waist, his arm around hers.

"Yes, it is," Rick agrees as they so easily fall into the same step when the green go-man appears on the traffic light.

She lets go of a contented sigh, holding the umbrella over their heads to make sure they won't get too wet. Right now they're headed away from the hotel and not towards which makes it even more important to not let the rain drench them just yet.

"Wish we could do this more often," she says as she clenches her fingers into his clothing.

"Well, we could," he shrugs his shoulders and she smiles at his attempt.

"You know we can't. Who'd catch all those killers?" she asks and he nods.

"Yeah, we're the best."

He's so smug and she rolls her eyes at him. He pulls her closer to him, his lips reaching her temple and she leans into his kiss.

"Okay, so we can't do it all the time but we could make a deal," he says and she looks to him as they continue to walk the street.

"What kind of a deal?" she asks, genuinely interested.

"Let's make these trips at least once in three months," he suggests and she hums in thought.

She looks around them, listening to the city, to the rain against the umbrella. She thinks about the late mornings, the stories he tells of the people they observe on the train, on the plane, and also when they sit at a bench in the park. They did that yesterday, just sitting at a bench to watch people. It had been so amusing and she can't wait for more moments like that one. And this one, walking together, even though it's pouring down she's still as grateful about it. She loves this.

"Yeah, okay," she agrees. "Every once in three months can't hurt."
