It's silly, she knows, but she can't help but feel a bit giddy about the x on her hand. She's not even sure why she let him do it, or why she decided to do an x on his hand too. He'd been playing with her hand when he'd asked her if she'd let him mark her, at first she'd laughed.
"You already marked me from last night, see?" she'd said and pulled down her linen slightly to show him the hickey he had left on her collarbone, low enough for her to be able to hide it. He knows she'll kill him otherwise.
He'd kissed her hand then and continued to play with her hand, her fingers. Before she knew it he'd held a red pen in his hand, one of those thick ones, and even though she watched his every move she didn't stop him. He had even looked up to see her reaction, to see if there was any possible way she would object, and she didn't… care.
"This is ridiculous," she now says as she looks at her x, observes the ink.
"Why?" he asks as he looks closer to his x too before examining hers again. "Looks amazing to me."
She laughs. "You already gave me a ring, why did you give me an x?"
Kate looks at her husband and he smirks. "It's a kiss," he says and she furrow her eyebrows with the smile still evident at her lips. "Like x's and o's, kiss and hugs."
She shakes her head. "You're such a goof," she says.
"And you love me," he teases back and she bites her lip.
"I do, and you love me," she says as he leans closer to her.
"That I definitely do," he agrees as he claims her lips in a chaste kiss.
