Chapter 60-The Acid Fog Strikes Again
Billy, Roy, Raven, Claire, Lexa, Gustus, Atom, Otan, Emori, Ontari, Roan, Anya, Luna, Tris, Aden, Charlotte, Clarke, Bellamy, Lincoln, Abby, Jake, Kane, Harper, Niylah, Miller, Byrne, Wick, Emma, Octavia, Myles, Nyko, and Jackson all gathered in the meeting room. Billy shuts the door and turns and looks at everybody. "What is said in this room does not leave it. Everybody in this room I trust and I know would not betray us," Billy says to them.
"We have a rat," Roy says.
"Why do you think that?" Abby asks.
"Lena. The Azgeda spy we have locked up is here to bring Ontari back to Nia. That means that Nia knows that Ontari is alive. That means somebody told her. This was before Roan got his note," Roan says.
"Somebody out there told Nia that Ontari is alive," Billy says.
"They wouldn't do that. None of them have any reason," Jake says with his arm crossed.
"Maybe nobody out there did," Emori says. "Titus,"
"You can't be serious. Titus would never do that," Lexa says. "Titus would never betray me,"
"He would if he thought he was helping you," Anya says.
"Titus did not betray me," Lexa growls at them.
"Lexa, think with your head. Titus could have seen Ontari as a treat to you if he felt that giving her back to Nia would keep you safe. He would do it," Luna says. "Just like Costia,"
"What are you saying, Luna?" Lexa asks as she looks at her friend.
"Azgeda got Costia as she was in the tower. No guard would have let them pass. But if Titus brought them in, they would have thought nothing of it. Titus hated the fact that you were with Costia," Luna says. "That is something you can think about, and we will figure out if Titus did it earlier. Right now, we should focus on Mount Weather. The army should be here tomorrow,"
"She's right. Everybody gets to work. Be careful. Roy give us an hour, and we will talk about Mount weather with you and Miller," Billy tells them. They nod as they leave the room. Raven and Wick walk over to Billy and Lexa.
"We know why we haven't heard anything from any of the other stations. Mount Weather's jamming us," Raven says.
"Show us," Lexa says. They go into the workshop, and Raven sits down by the radio.
"I treated the resonator and got this," Raven says. They hear a humming over the radio.
"It's on every frequency. Long-range communication is totally screwed," Wick says.
"It's also why the range on our walkies sucks," Raven says.
"It's also what Monty heard on the black box of the Exodus ship," Bellamy says as he comes into the room.
"Mount Weather crashed the Exodus ship?" Billy asks.
"Can you get around the signal?" Lexa asks.
"Around it? No. But if I can get to the tower that broadcasts it. I can make it go boom," Raven says. Billy smiles.
"You amaze me," Billy says.
"I better," Raven says.
"We might need her here," Lexa says.
"We have Wick and Jake. I can't lead this, though. Gather everybody again," Billy says. They nod. About fifteen minutes later, everybody gathers again. Raven shows and tells them the same thing.
"This means there can be other Ark stations on the ground. More guards to help us against Mount Weather," Raven explains.
"Neither Lexa nor I can lead this," Billy says.
"I guess I'm going back to Mount Weather," Miller says. "Roy can explain everything else," Miller says.
"It can't just be you," Byrne says. "I can send a few guards,"
"Good, Clarke, Murphy, Octavia, Lincoln, Ontari, Wells, Raven, and Kane will go with them. The rest of us will stay here. Train and be more prepared for when we leave and the army gets here. Everybody understands?" Billy asks. They all nod as they leave. Lexa follows Clarke into their room. Clarke looks at Lexa as she packs her bag.
"Lexa, you can't always be with me," Clarke tells her.
"Ai gafin gon protect yu Klark," Lexa says.
"Ai getin. Yu are an awesome girlfriend," Clarke says. "But I have to be able to be my own person, or this will not work," Clarke says as she lays her hand on Lexa's shoulders. "You trust everybody I'm going with. We will be prepared for the acid fog in case it happens. I'll be okay," Clarke says. Lexa nods before she kisses the blond. She pulls back and rests her head against Clarke's.
"Komop bakon gon ai," Lexa says.
"Ai na," Clarke says before she kisses Lexa's head and leaves the room. Billy walks into Billy and Raven's room and walks over to her. He pulls Raven into a kiss.
"I just need you to know I love you. Come back safe," Billy says.
"I love you too," Raven says as she kisses him again and leaves the room.
Mount Weather group
They follow Miller and Clarke through the woods, who talk quietly. Wells looks at Ontari. "What was it like in there?" Wells asks her. Ontari looks at him. "If you don't mind me asking,"
"It was cold, and the cage was small, and it hurt to be inside of it. When they walked into the room, you wished that you were next so you could be outside of that cage even if you die. Nobody in the room spoke, so you were left there dwelling and wondering if everything that led to that moment was worth it," Ontari says.
"Was it?" Wells asks Ontari.
"Yeah, helping the hundred beat Nia was worth being in that cage. I'm glad they never hung me up because then they would have had nightblood. It was also worth it because I got to meet you by being a spy, and you are pretty cool," Ontari says.
"So are you," Wells says as he pats her shoulder.
"And besides Roan, before I got out of Mount Weather. You were the only person who treated me like a friend," Ontari says. Wells smiles. Miller walked upfront with Clarke. Miller looks back at the guards who were towards the back.
"So you and the commander. You always gave off that vibe," Miller says to her.
"What vibe?" Clarke asks.
"You never seemed interested in any of the men in camp. I assumed you might have went the other way," Miller says.
"That was because nobody in camp interested me. I didn't think I was gay until I met Lexa. What about you, Miller. Where is your lucky girl?" Clarke asks.
"Guy Lucky guy," Miller says.
"Try Jackson," Clarke says.
"I thought he had something for you, mom," Miller says. Clarke laughs and shakes her head.
"That is not something I want to think about," Clarke says. "Maybe once this is all over, you can find someone," Clarke says.
"That would be nice," Miller tells him. Murphy walks with Octavia as Kane walks with Lincoln and the two talk quietly.
"How are you and Lincoln doing?" Murphy asks Octavia.
"Good, we are still good friends, and we agreed with each other last night. Did Indra talk to you?" Octavia asks.
"Yeah, it looks like we'll be training together," Murphy tells her. "I am very scared,"
"You should be. Indra is one of the best warriors in the coalition," Octavia says.
"Thank you for that , Octavia," Murphy says.
"You're welcome," Octavia says with a smirk.
Alpha station
Billy, Lexa, Anya, Luna, Roy, Claire, Jake, Abby, Roan, and Gustus all sat in the meeting room. "At first, they were nice to me. But something was wrong. They can't survive outside. Miller and I had a chance to open the door, but we didn't. We couldn't kill all those people. We acted normal for a while, but we hurt ourselves and got into medical and sneaked into a room. Hundreds of grounders in cages they are draining them for their blood. We found Ontari and got out. There was a door. The only problem is the door is in a reaper tunnel. We have to figure out how to get past that," Roy says as he sets the map down. "This hydraulic damn controls their power,"
"What are reapers?" Abby asks.
"Grounders who are taken and never seen the same again," Lexa says.
"The Mountain, does it?" Abby asks.
"They were able to control them. Yes, I think so," Roy says.
"Can you get me a reaper?" Abby asks.
"Why would you want one?" Luna asks.
"If I can figure out how they are doing it. I may be able to reverse the effect," Abby says.
"I think they might still be in radio range," Raven says as he pulls her radio out. "Kane,"
"Raven," Kane says with a little bit of static.
"Find us a reaper while you are out there. See if you can," Raven says.
"We'll try," Kane says before the radio goes off.
"For now, we should wait to plan more. We should wait for the other generals," Anya says.
"She's right. I want your guards to start to learn our language," Lexa says.
"I agree. Roan and Luna can start with them. Niylah and Anya work on training in any way. Otan can help with armor," Billy says. They nod as they walk away.
"What about me?" Lexa asks.
"You and I have to prepare for your army. We need more food, so we are going to go on a hunt. I'm going to bring Bellamy and Emma too," Billy tells Lexa, who nods. "I have to go talk to Atom. Be ready when I get back," Lexa nods as Billy leaves the room. He walks through the halls of the Alpha station and goes outside, and sees Atom with Emori. He walks up to him. "Atom," Billy says.
"What's up?" Atom asks.
"Gather a small group of people and guards and build a few tents outside of camp. I want the army near camp to show a form of trust," Billy tells him.
"Yeah. I can get a few people," Atom says. Billy nods before he walks over to Emma and Bellamy.
"Get ready for a hunt," Billy tells them before he walks away. They watch him for a moment before they do as they are told. Billy walks back into Alpha station and sees Lexa walking towards him.
"Are you ready?" Lexa asks. Billy nods as they go down to the gate and wait for Bellamy and Emma, who soon join them. They leave camp.
Mount Weather team
Raven looks through binoculars up at Mount Weather. "There I see it," Raven says as she points at the tower. Clarke grabs the binoculars.
"It will be dark soon," Clarke says.
"We'll never spot the traps. We should set up camp here," Miller says as Wells looks at the tower. "Leave at first light,"
"Where are Murphy and Octavia?" Kane asks as he looks around.
"They went to find a way in and look for a reaper," Lincoln says.
"A way in is not what this mission is about," Kane says.
"It is for me. Raven has her job; I have mine," Clarke says.
"I'll go after them," Lincoln says. "If they go up against a reaper, they could use the help," Lincoln says.
"We'll come too," Wells says.
"Okay," Lincoln says and leaves. Wells and Ontari follow him.
"And then there were three," Raven says as she looks at Kane and Clarke. "Also, the guards," They hear birds, and Raven looks up. "Get the tents! Acid fog," She says as she pulls her tent out. Kane and Clarke help her set it up, and they all climb in and shut it as the guards do the same. Raven takes out the radio. "Might as well get to work,"
Murphy and Octavia walk through the woods. "According to Clarke, before the bombs, there were buildings everywhere here. I'm guessing some of them had access to the bunker. So we're looking for ruins. Anything that's man-made, okay?" Murphy says.
"Murphy," Lincoln says as he comes up behind them. Murphy and Octavia turn around.
"We're here to help. If you find a reaper, you'll need it," Wells says. Murphy nods. Octavia kicks the ground, and they look and see bugs.
"Shit," Octavia says.
"Acid fog," Murphy says as he looks behind them. "We need cover now. Deploy your tents," Octavia follows the bugs. Murphy goes over to her.
"Murphy! There's something in here," Octavia says. "Maybe it's the ruins,"
"Over here!" Murphy shouts. The others come over and help Octavia pull the door open. They go inside and slam the door shut.
Lexa, Billy, Bellamy, and Emma walk through the woods. Bellamy and Emma had spears. They walked through the woods when they heard birds and saw the fog. "Run!" Lexa says as they go through the woods. "Follow me," Lexa says as he runs through the woods. She runs into a broken cabin and opens a hatch. She lets Bellamy, Emma, and Billy in first before she jumps down in the hatch and shuts it. She walks to a lantern and lights it up.
"What is this place?" Bellamy asks.
"My childhood home," Lexa tells them as she sits down.
"What the hell is that?" Jade asks.
"Acid fog. It burns your skin. But why the hell did it stop? Everybody be prepared to get to shelter because this will kill you!" Roy yells. Everybody nods as Roy walks down to Luna and Anya. "Have you ever seen this before?"
"No," Anya says. "Let's hope the others are okay because they are trapped in the fog,"
"Keep working with them," Roy says before he walks away and into the dropship. He walks to Jaha's room and opens the door. Jaha looks at him. "Time to get up, Jaha. Some of our people are trapped in the fog, and I could use some help," Jaha nods as he stands up. He follows Roy outside and sees the acid fog.
"Where's Wells?" Jaha asks.
"Inside the fog, or he is dead," Roy tells him. "Wells is smart. He knows what the acid fog can do. He'll be okay," Roy says. Jaha nods as he follows Roy to medical. "Abby,"
"What?" She asks.
"Be prepared when they come back. They may need help," Roy tells her. The doctor nods before Roy walks outside and stares at the acid fog hoping his friends were okay.
