Charmy, Delia's Charmeleon, set itself like it was running a marathon. Its growl rumbled in a low volume as its claws dug into the clay floor.
It didn't understand what the man in the middle said, but it knew that once their hand chopped downwards, it meant that the fight began. The big snake looked at Delia, its pink tongue flickering outward. The snake was going to attack Delia!
The man chopped down at the air, and it charged forward, its claws kicking up chunks of clay. The cobra looked down at the charging red lizard and fired some purple liquid, but Charmy knew to swerve out of the way.
It was getting closer to Arbok. Charmy could smell the reptile's scales. It looked away from the snake's glowing red eyes and didn't hear any of Delia's commands as it reached the other side.
It couldn't let the snake get near Delia at all costs. Charmy leaped up at the massive snake and took a deep breath. Deep in its belly, a flame ignited and traveled through its throat. It felt the flames pass through its teeth and let the flamethrower explode forward, hitting the snake and its smug-looking hood at point-blank range. The snake blew backward while Charmy landed on all fours. The snake pokemon still stood, holding on by a thread of strength. One last attack to save Delia.
The snake reared up and charged forward, teeth bared and eyes glowing.
Charmeleon growled in response and launched itself at the massive Arbok, shifting to bring momentum to its tail. It heard the snake's jaw slam shut where Charmy had been and found the right moment. The flame pokemon's tail slashed down on Arbok's neck and struck true. The cobra pokemon fell immediately. With the threat vanquished, Charmeleon looked to Delia and let out a roar to the skies.
Its trainer was safe, at least for now. Charmy looked back to its trainer, only to see more dread on her face.
It turned to where Delia looked and growled threateningly again. A massive ghost with two floating hands and a nasty grin appeared from a ball of light. This one threatened its trainer, too. It must be destroyed.
